Sakura Rewind
Written by: KamiNoSakura
Author's Note: This is a story that I thought of during my youthful years in Middle school. I thought that Sakura's role needed a bit more of an impact, so I wrote this story and revised it a number of times, hope you enjoy. There are some of my OCs and a few of the original characters may seem to be a bit OOC, but otherwise I tried to capture their original personalities. On another note, I do plan on making a doujinshi of this story however it will take some time due to my lack of excellent drawing skills. Please bear with me everyone. I do not own Naruto, all rights go to Kishimoto Masashi.
Warning: Main Character Death (Sort of…) & Some Profanity
-Chapter 6-
Taking the First Step
The night was silent and the full moon shone beautifully over Konoha. Sakura had finished with her rounds around the Uchiha compound and walked along the lake that resided near the clan. She recalled the events of several days ago when the Chunin level rogue nin almost attacked Sasuke and Ino.
Then suddenly she felt a presence appear behind her, acting on her instincts she lept away, kunai drawn and prepared for an attack.
However she immediately recognized the older male with a long pony-tail. "Itachi-sempai, didn't expect to see you here. Especially at this time of night."
The older Uchiha smiled and tilted his head as an apology of startling the young kunoichi. "Said could be said for you Sakura-chan. It's passed one in the morning, what brings you all the way out here?"
"Can't really sleep, so I thought a walk around to use some excess energy." Sakura smoothly lied about her reasons for being in such a close range of the compound.
"So every night you have trouble sleeping?" At this Sakura widened her eyes.
'Damn, this means he knew I've been here frequently. And I was being extra careful not to stand out..'
While racking her brain on the best response her thought process was interrupted by the feel of a jacket being draped over her shoulder.
"It's beginning to get colder, with Winter right around the corner. So be sure to bundle up if you do keep going out at night." Sakura couldn't help but smile at Itachi's natural ability of taking the older brother role.
"Heh, you're right. Thank you Itachi-sempai. But won't you get cold without this?" The Uchiha prodigy merely shook his head.
"I've had far worse on some previous missions. Plus we're pretty close to my home so I can always grab something if needed." She nodded at his logic, but it made her realize how much Itachi has been willing to sacrifice for others. This firmed her resolve of taking one of the biggest burdens of his entire life. She snapped back to reality when Itachi asked the same question he did earlier. "So why have you been having trouble sleeping, and every night at that?"
"Well being friends with one of the most hyperactive boys in all five lands either wears one out or in my case brings my energy levels up." At this the older Uchiha chuckled, having to agree that Uzumaki Naruto has an endless supply of energy that was nothing short of contagious.
"I'm sure Naruto-kun is just enjoying himself, having friends such as you and Lee-kun."
"Yeah, he's been all on his own for a while, so I want to be there for him while I can.." Itachi noticed the sad look that the young kunoichi had. Although it disappeared just as quickly as it came. He took note to ask her about it later.
"Sakura-chan, if you can't sleep the let me know. If I'm available I'll be happy to walk around with you, or perhaps even a few sparring sessions if you're ever up for it." Sakura's face brightened at the older Uchiha's suggestion.
"Thank you Itachi-sempai! I'm very grateful to have such an opportunity to learn anything I can from you!" She quickly bowed in showing her appreciation.
"Haha no need to be so polite about it. Honestly I did regret not accepting you being my student when you first asked me. But this seems like an opportune time to teach you since Sasuke and the rest of my clan would be asleep. This way I don't shorten any time I would have with them."
The medic nodded in her agreement that this would be the ideal arrangement. She could learn quite a bit from Uchiha Itachi, there's only so much she could improve on her own so the extra supervision would be more than welcome.
Then a thought struck her like a shuriken, if she accepts his tutelage during her usual times of when she's supposed to be gathering intel on the Uchiha clan then she'll be missing out on important signs about the state of the straining relationship between clan and the village. True to her thinking prowess she came up with a solution just as quickly as it appeared.
"Itachi-sempai, in that case would you meet with me around midnight here at the lake?"
"I don't particularly mind but so late?"
"Yes, if I can't bring myself to be tired or sleepy by then the chances are I won't sleep very easily overall." Nodding his approval.
"Alright then, I'll wait around here whenever I'm in the village."
"Thank you again! Oh and I'll be sure to bring back the jacket the next time I see you sempai!"
"Haha it's fine, just keep it. It's gotten to be a tad too small for me now. Did you want me to walk you home? It is pretty late."
Thank you, but I'll be fine with the moon shining as bright as it is it'll be a peaceful walk home." Itachi looked up and had to agree that it was a beautiful night tonight.
"Alright then, have a safe trip home Sakura-chan."
"Thank you sempai, have a good night." Saying their goodbyes for the night the two shinobi split off to their homes.
Smiling the entire way home, the young kunoichi couldn't wait to learn what the Uchiha prodigy has to teach her.
Upon her arrival home, she neatly hung the black and red jacket that Itachi had given her. She sweat marked thinking that it's too much like the Akatsuki cloak.
'Oh well, the colors due suit him though.'
The pinkette slept soundly that night and couldn't wait for the next day to make more progress on her mission.
The next morning Sakura got ready to meet up with Naruto and Lee, wearing her own green sweater rather than Itachi's jacket, with it being too big and all. She arrived at the playground earlier than usual and decided to sit on the swing set to pass some of the time, until she noticed a presence from the trees behind her. Not feeling threatened she turn to see a young boy wearing sunglasses, beanie and scarf covering most of his face.
'He's always been shady, even as this age…'
Before Sakura could speak to the silent visitor Naruto and Lee broke the silence with their above average volume voices.
"SAKURA-CHAN! OHAYOU!"
The moment the two boomboxes were in reach Sakura pounded both their heads scolding them for being so loud in the morning. Then a quiet voice interrupted Sakura's lecture.
"How can you all have any energy in this cold?" the kunoichi's companions jumped when they realized that there was someone else her aside from the trio.
"Well we don't have the same "condition" as you Aburame-kun."
"You-you know I'm of the Aburame clan?" Excitement seeping through in his voice, making Sakura smile.
"It wasn't too hard since everyone wears sunglasses of some sort, not only that but the clan doesn't seem to be very active during the winter since you have more than yourselves to take care of." She didn't want to say that the clan actually takes care of insects inside their bodies. It's not information that the Aburames appreciate being said out loud.
The Aburame boy was shocked that someone his age knew about his clan and it's speciality.
"Well anyways it'll just take some time for you to get used to. Oh I never introduced myself have I? My name is Haruno Sakura, nice to meet you uh-" Sakura knew full well who the boy was, but needed to ask for the sake of formality and the fact that she technically hasn't met the most silent person of the Konoha twelve.
"Shino, Aburame Shino."
"Shino-kun, these two loud mouths are my friends Rock Lee and Uzumaki Naruto."
"Greetings Shino-san!" Lee with his trademark salute.
"Yo." The informal greeting could only come from Naruto. The Aburame boy nodded his greetings to the other boys, but did show some hesitancy with Naruto, having always been told to steer clear from the boy by the elders of his family. However he never knew why, and actually talking to him didn't help him understand what fears the adults have of the child.
Sakura knew full well what Shino would have reservations about, the taboo to not associate with the jinchuurki of the kyuubi. Even her own parents banned her from speaking to the young blonde, she did think at some point how selfish and ungrateful both her parents and all the other adults of the village. Treating the son of one of their heroes, their Hokage such a way because he now carries the heavy burden of keeping the kyuubi in check was downright disrespectful. But after some thinking she knew why they treated him the way they have, simple ignorance. It's not very common knowledge that Naruto is the son of the Yondaime, especially since he was born the same night that the kyuubi attacked and devastated Konoha. The information about his birth was swept through with the mourning the village felt about not only the loss of their young and kind Hokage but many others as well. So many died that night, based on the records Sakura remember reading, about seventeen percent of the village suffered casualties. Most people might not think that to be a big number, but in a village that houses a good couple of hundred thousand people it certainly was significant.
Sakura placed her focus back to the boys who were chatting away, well most of the chatting came from Naruto and Lee. Shino only said a word or two the entire time the conversation raged on.
"Ok guys, we better let Shino-kun off now, seems like his feet are starting to lose their feeling."
With Sakura bringing the boys attention to Shino's leg which were shivering considerably apologized profusely for keeping him out in such weather.
The young Aburame nodded his thanks and wandered back into the foliage of bushes and trees where he came from.
After Shino had disappeared from sight the trio travelled to one of the nearby training grounds to practice for the day. Upon their arrival they met with a laughing older Uchiha boy and a grumpy Sasuke. When their presence was noticed Sasuke glared hard at Sakura and his companion ceased his laughter.
" Well what have we here? Friends of your's Sasuke?"
"No Way! Not with those losers!" This ticked Naruto off immediately, not because he was called a loser but because his friends were being called such.
"Oi teme! Don't call fuzzy-brows and Sakura-chan losers!"
"Why not? Both you and and chunky-brows over there lost to me, and as for her because she's hanging out with such idiots she's one by association!" This hit Naruto's heart like a kunai, he didn't want Sakura to be made fun of for being friends with him. Lee on the other hand was weeping for only being known for his large eyebrows.
The older Uchiha boy saw the hurt expression the young kyuubi host had and decided then it was time for him to step in, but was beaten to the punch by the small pinkette.
"In that case what does that make you? Since you lost to me who is a loser? Oh I know an idiotic jerk!"
This made both Uchihas speechless, Sasuke for being called such a name and the older boy for hearing that his younger cousin had lost to someone else his age.
"W-what?! I'm neither of those two!"
"Then neither are Naruto and Lee losers! I couldn't care less what you call me, but don't go on insulting my friends and expect me to stay silent about it!"
Before the fight escalated the older Uchiha intervened.
"Ok ok that's enough you two, Sasuke apologize to them."
"What?! Why should I Shisui?!" Sakura was taken aback upon learning who the older boy who was none other that Uchiha Shisui another prodigy in his own right and is known to have been Itachi's mentor and role model.
'THE Uchiha Shisui?! I never expected to meet him this soon…'
"You need to apologize because you started the fight, by first insulting them and not being a good sport. Honestly I don't know why it's so hard for you to get along with anyone else except the clan."
"Well they did challenge me first and that girl made a fool out of me in front of nii-san!"
"You did that yourself, don't pin all the blame on someone else." Sakura not having any of Sasuke's excuses. Which earned her another glare from the young Uchiha.
"Now Sasuke, if you don't apologize, and meant it I'll have to tell Itachi that you weren't being cooperative and we'll see how he reacts to that." Sasuke's face lost its color in that one moment, the last thing he ever wanted was to have his older brother become disappointed with him.
With the utmost reluctance Sasuke turned to face Sakura and the others, bowed and apologized.
"I-I'm sorry for calling you losers."
While Naruto and Lee weren't satisfied with just the apology Sakura gave them a look saying that they should just let go of it and move on.
"Apology accepted Sasuke-kun, and I'm sorry for all the names I've called you both today and from before."
With the matter settled Shisui smiled at the two children and decided it was time to put their minds on more positive thoughts.
" Well since we're all here why don't we play something? Not that I would lose of course!" Knowing that is younger cousin was naturally competitive and seeing the fire from the with boys earlier knew that they probably were the same.
Right on cue the three boys challenged the older Uchiha.
"Bring it on!"
"I'll have to pass." All the males stared at Sakura as if she had said something taboo.
"But Sakura-chan why not?!"
"Calm down Naruto, it's not that I don't want to. But I need to do some meditation."
"Eh? Meditation?"
"Hai, I've been meaning to start on it for a little while now but haven't had the chance. And this seems to be a good a time as any."
While sad that their female counterpart won't be joining in their activities they let her be, knowing that she wanted to be stronger and had the potential to be a great kunoichi in the future.
And so Shisui ran away from the boys who were hunting him down for a game of tag.
Sakura sat underneath a nearby tree and began to clear her mind.
The real reason why she needed to meditate was to begin storing her chakra for the Byakugo no In, or Yin seal. It was one of the many things she learned from Senju Tsunade the Godaime Hokage and the best Medic Nin known across the continent.
Back in Sakura's original timeline once she had mastered the technique it became second nature to send in a continuous flow of chakra to her seal. Now though her body isn't in the same prime condition her older body was. Also Sakura knows she'll be needing the seal in the future, so might as well start as early as possible.
However instead of focusing her chakra to her forehead like before she channeled that energy to the center of her chest.
'I know Shishou had me channel my chakra to my forehead, but if I focus it to my chest it should be more efficient. Since the core of Chakra is placed around the abdomen the chakra would reach its designated point quicker, well theoretically.'
After about an hour of constant focus the young medic opened her eyes back to reality. She took a look around to find her friends and the Uchiha duo, only to find them running in circles. A laughing Shisui and angry trio of boys giving chase does not equal a happy ending for contemplated for a moment on if and how she should stop them, but Itachi's appearance had done the job for her.
"Nii-san!" The moment Sasuke saw his brother he ran straight towards him for a giant hug. This caused Shisui to stop to see what was going, but got tackled down by Naruto and Lee.
" We got you Shisui-nii!"
"Victory is our's!"
Instead of being upset the oldest Uchiha just laughed, having enjoyed his time with the children chasing him down with such vigor.
"Haha ok I give, you guys win!" He then ruffled the boy's heads and walked them to meet up with his cousins and Sakura.
"I have to admit, I'm surprised seeing you all playing together."
"Well you have Shisui-sempai to thank for that." Being referred to as sempai made Shisui chuckle a bit.
"I don't know about being a sempai, but got to say it has a nice ring to it."
"Well I'm simply giving respect where respect is due."
"Oh is that so, does the little flower here know who I am?"
"Haruno Sakura, and yes I do. Although many of the villagers tend to praise Itachi-sempai for his outstanding work and skill, you racked up quite a reputation outside of the village. For being an extremely efficient and skilled shinobi that landed you in the bingo books at age 10. The youngest ever recorded in history."
"Wow...didn't expect anyone your age to know that."
"Even though my father is a retired shinobi he still keeps up with such details."
Both of the older Uchiha boys were impressed once again by Sakura's vast knowledge of everything, but were brought out of their reverie by Sasuke.
"Nii-san we should head back, okaa-san is probably finishing making lunch for us."
"Ah you're right, let's get going then. Well see you three later."
"Later kiddos!" With that the three Uchihas left the training grounds, leaving the trio to their own devices.
After tricking Iruka-sensei into treating them Ichiraku's Sakura and her friends went off to explore the village a bit. They walked through a quiet park filled with trees that began to lose their usual color and luster. It was a peaceful walk until they heard what seemed to be a cry in the distance.
Obvious curiosity getting the better of them they ventured out to find the source of the sound. The sight that met them caused their blood to boil. A young girl with short raven hair weeping on the floor while being surrounded by three older boys. The girl had bruises and scratches all over her and her lovely kimono ruined with mud stains and tears.
Reacting on pure instinct both Naruto and Lee jumped in to defend the crying child.
"Oi! What the hell do you think you jerks are doing?!"
The bullies who were laughing stopped to see who came to interrupt them and smirked at their opponents.
"Heh if it isn't the little monster and the wannabe shinobi. Why do you care what we do to this girl? It's not like she's your friend or anything, plus look at her she's a freak. With those creepy eyes."
It was then Sakura found out that the girl was the Hyuuga heiress Hyuuga Hinata. She mentally slapped herself for not figuring it out sooner.
"So what if she looks different! That gives you no right to pick on someone who's younger!"
"Heh, and what are you going to do about it?"
"I'll take you bastards down is what I'm going to do!" Having pushed the right button the leader of the bullies became enraged by the disrespect and was launching a punch straight at Naruto. However the punch never connected, the older boy's arm had stopped mid way and it was then he realized he couldn't move it at all.
"What the-?"
"That's as far as you go."
The three boys looked to see Sakura emerging from the side. Between her index and middle finger were threads that have weaved around some trees and wrapped around the arm of the leader.
"You little brat let me go!"
"Unfortunately for you I'd rather not, since it'll be more problematic to have you run loose."
With that being said the young kunoichi raised both of her hands and formed them into fists. Each finger had a thread connected, by following her finger commands came a web that ensnared all three of the older boys. None of them being able to move freely or break loose.
"Why you-GAH!"
Sakura's threads had tightened considerably slowly squeezing the life out of the boys. She had no intention of killing them, but having them give up or knock out was her main objective.
"Ready to give up yet? I can do this all day, but I doubt you'd like me to do that so what's it going to be?"
After a few minutes of being constricted all three boys begged for mercy. And after a few promises to never pick on or come near the Hyuuga heiress and her friends Sakura released their constraints and watched them run off with tears in their eyes.
"Wow Sakura-chan that was so cool! I didn't even see when you put the threads up!"
"Heh well you and Lee distracted them which left me to lay my trap. So really I couldn't have done without you two."
Both boys blushed and smiled at the praise, then looked back to check the young girl's condition.
"Hey you ok?"
Hinata now having a good luck at her saviors blushed a bit at the sight of Naruto and began twiddling her thumbs.
'Some things never change, Hinata will always have the same habits around Naruto. Now that I think about it she's been in love with him even in the first day of the academy back then. Naruto must have done something similar to get her attention…'
"Uh um well….I'm alright...t-thank you for saving me.."
Naruto moved in closer to the Hyuua girl's face, apparently not hearing her clearly. Hinata's face began to become red as a tomato. Sakura giggled at the sight and decided to take over before the heiress fainted from infatuation.
"I'm glad that they didn't hurt you too badly. Are you by any chance related to Hyuuga Neji?"
The shy girl looked to Sakura and nodded.
"Yes, he's my older cousin."
"I see, well it's clear that you're from the Hyuuga clan. What's your name?"
"H-Hyuuga Hinata...and you all are…?"
"Haruno Sakura, nice to meet you Hinata."
"Rock Lee! A pleasure to make your acquaintance!"
"And I'm Uzumaki Naruto! Future Hokage!"
Hinata's blush deepened when Naruto introduced himself and she began staring towards the ground, avoiding eye contact with her saviors. Seeing upon closer inspection of Hinata's condition Sakura believed she needed some medical attention, even if it's only minor. Looking at their surroundings they were fairly close to the Hyuuga residence, and knowing a clan as prestigious as Hinata's there's bound to be some sort of medic on standby. Mind set Sakura lead the children towards the compound.
"Let's get you back home Hinata, you need someone to look after your wounds and get you a change of clothes."
The heiress couldn't deny that she wasn't in the best shape to argue. With a simple nod she began following the pinkette with Naruto and Lee in tow.
It took about ten minutes to reach their destination, but before they reached the front gate a kunai flew straight towards them.
Sakura with reflexes sharpened drew her own kunai and knocked the opposing one away. Then gave a viscous glare at the boy who had launched the attack.
"What the hell Neji! That was dangerous!"
"That's the point Haruno!"
The Hyuuga prodigy's eyes were filled with rage. Based on the situation with her and the others being with an injured Hinata the medic surmised that the boy is jumping to conclusions.
"Hold on a sec Neji you don't understand-" She was cut off by a series of shuriken thrown at them, losing her patience the kunoichi sent chakra to her feet and dashed beside the Hyuuga boy in no time. Pinning his arms down and forced him to listen.
"Neji stop that! You could have accidentally hit Hinata with one of those!"
This stopped the prodigy's squirming.
"Then explain to me why Hinata-sama is in such a state!"
"Neji-niisan, you've got it all wrong. Naruto-kun and the others saved and protected me from some bullies…"
Noticing the slacken form of Neji, Sakura released her hold of him. The boy hung his head in shame.
"I see...I'm sorry Hinata-sama for not protecting you from your attackers. And..I'm sorry Haruno for accusing you of such a crime.."
"It's ok Neji, most people would have jumped to the same conclusion given the circumstances. I'm not angry at you for attacking me, I was just concerned about everyone else's safety."
"I see...well thank you all for bringing Hinata-sama back home, I'll see to it that she's taken good care of."
"I'm counting on you Neji, and I hope you have a speedy recovery Hinata."
The young Hyuuga girl smiled and nodded in response and gave a deep bow to the children.
"Thank you again everyone for helping me out. I hope we can all be good friends in the future."
"Eh? Why?" Naruto's question hurt the heiress, thinking that he may not want to be friends with her. But her thoughts were quickly corrected by her crush.
"I mean, why wait until later to be friends when we already are?" Hinata was speechless.
"W-we are Naruto-kun?"
"Huh? Of course we are! Right Sakura-chan? Bushy-brows?" The two smiled and agreed with their blonde friend.
"He's right, we're already friends! So please come play with us sometime Hinata-san!"
"We definitely are friends Hinata, so if you ever need anything feel free to ask."
"T-Thank you...everyone.." Wiping away some of the tears in her eyes Hinata, led by her older cousin went inside the residence. With the gates closed the trio agreed to call it a day and walked to their respected homes.
Sakura's trek home was uneventful. That is until her visitor appeared out of thin air.
"Futsunushi? What are you doing here?"
"Is there anything wrong with me checking in on your progress?"
"Normally no, but with you being a Kami and all means that you don't have to physically see how I'm doing."
"Hahaha very true! Glad to see you know me so well."
Eyes twitching at the Kami's easygoing attitude Sakura let out a sigh
"Well enough small talk now I suppose, actually I came here to give you something."
"Give me something? Didn't you already leave me that sword the other day?"
"Yes I did leave Kokuin to you."
"Kokuin? Is that its name?"
"Ken no Kokuin actually, but I refer it as Kokuin for short. It's the sword of sealing, while it can be used as a catalyst for some fuin jutsus its main purpose is to seal away chakra. I'll give you a demonstration another day. "
Sakura nodded and filed away the information for later.
"So what was it that you needed to give me then?"
"Ah that's right I almost forgot about that, haha got a little distracted by Kokuin." The Kami rummaged through his kimono sleeve until he found the object in question. "Here you go." What Futsunushi handed Sakura were a handful of diamond prisms, nine to be exact.
"They're beautiful, but what are they for?"
"Those are Hogo crystals, they're meant for the jinchuurikis. Since the Akatsuki will be on the hunt for them eventually. If the host in question has one of these crystals on their person then not only will the Juubi only absorb about half of the chakra of the jinchuuriki but the person the beast inhabits will also live."
Sakura couldn't believe that such small crystals were capable of so much. She recalled the mission to save Gaara, the Godaime Kazekage and jinchuuriki of Shukaku the One-Tailed Beast. Ow they were moments too late in saving him when he was kidnapped by the Akatsuki and had his beast extracted from him. Anger bubbled inside of her, having been reminded that she had to recruit one of the Akatsuki member's responsible for Gaara's death.
The young medic needed to start preparations on both recruitment and planting the Hogo crystals on each of the Jinchuuriki. Naruto will be a simple matter, and Gaara as well. It's the other 7 jinchuuriki that she had to plan for. Deciding now is as good a time as any to ask for advice to the kami in front of her.
"Futsunushi, do you mind if I ask you a question or two?" Curiosity shown in the kami's eyes.
"Well I don't see any harm in answering a few questions here and there. Ask away."
Nodding in appreciation, Sakura carefully thought of which questions to ask. Settling on the most important information that she needs to know.
"When would be the ideal time to contact both the jinchuuriki and recruit the shinobi I need?"
"Ah, good question. Well I would highly recommend stopping by Suna before your start in the Academy. Once there I will show you an interesting jutsu that will be extremely useful in the future. Moe particularly with the Uchiha clan."
Sakura went silent at the mentioning of what she will have to do. Having been trained as a medic, it's against everything she was ever taught. Of course she's killed other shinobi before, but those were in direct combat. She was never once assigned assassination missions, so killing others that did not throw a punch at her did not sit well with her.
Her attention went back to Futsunushi as he continued to answer her original question.
"While you're in Suna you'll be meeting a certain young jinchuuriki."
Sakura's eyes widened. She's meeting with Gaara already? Back in her original timeline the first meeting with the Kazekage would be at the start of the Chunin exams.
"Already? I thought here was still about 8 or so years before I meet him and his siblings."
"Don't forget Sakura, that only specific events need to occur for you. The time you meet with Sabaku no Gaara is not relevant to that."
"I see, so aside from meeting with Gaara what else do I need to be concerned about?"
At this Futsunushi smiled, sending chills down Sakura's spine.
"Why recruiting another red head of course."
The sword kami found much amusement in seeing the color from the pinkette's face completely drain.
"Is this an actual task I should be completing or something you're saying just to piss me off?"
"Now why would I lie to you Sakura? I haven't so far, no reason to not trust me now is there?"
There were many times where Sakura wanted to pummel someone and this was definitely one of those moments. Trying to calm herself she tried to find the reasoning behind the timing of everything.
"Well, Sasori will be near Suna when you meet with Gaara. And since he's one of the first Akatsuki recruits it'll be more convenient for you when you inevitably leave Konoha."
The medic sighed in resignation. Accepting the fact that she can't avoid the infamous puppet-master.
Futsunushi took that as his que to leave. Saying their goodbyes Sakura proceeded to entering her house and begin planning out her strategy for the next few months.
Taking the first step.
