Move Along
Chapter 024
The next day, Kagome stood off in the corner of the room as the Host Club met. Though her gaze was drawn to the outside scenery from a nearby window, she was still mostly listening to the nonsense the blond was spewing.
A crazy otaku from France had barged into the room yesterday, effectively depressing their club president and announcing herself as Ootori's fiancé. The girl was clearly lost in her own delusions, declaring herself the club manager and whatnot.
And she was mildly surprised that Suoh and Ootori were actually going along with the girl's crazy scheme. Though maybe not so surprising in Ootori's case, business always seemed to come first where he was concerned.
Suoh though, he was just crazy. And besides, Haruhi already had a female friend, she just didn't quite realize it yet.
Renge dropped by and Kagome completely stopped paying attention to the chaos in the room. Which wasn't that hard for her to do despite all the craziness.
Shippo was starting to get suspicious of the club she had joined. He was acting more like a concerned parent than her own mother. Bu thanks to Haruhi's scholarship position, she managed to spin it as an academic group. But she knew the rouse wouldn't last for long. Especially if he ever met Tamaki or the twins.
She shuddered to think what would happen if that were to occur.
She probably shouldn't have quit the tennis team, but the practices were the same time as her internship times.
"Lukewarm…EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! EXCEPT FOR KYOYA ALL OF YOUR CHARACTERS ARE LUKEWARM!"
That did catch her attention. Looking up, Kagome watched on as Renge called them out, deciding that they needed more of an "edge". She started spewing more nonsense about how their characters needed to change that only got Kagome more riled up.
They weren't playing anyone but themselves and they shouldn't have to pretend to be anyone else.
Finally, the silly girl pointed a finger at Kagome.
"And you, you will be school's black sheep. The mysterious delinquent with anger issues."
Fists clenched angrily at her sides, Kagome was quick to respond, "count me out." and stormed off. She hated it when people tried to change others.
