Move Along

Chapter 025

After her outburst the other day, Kagome was reluctant to show up to her first tutoring session with Morinozuka. The two cousins and Haruhi had tried to stop her from leaving, but she was too incensed to bother listening to them.

She felt a little bad now. Maybe she had overreacted a bit.

Sighing dejectedly, she reluctantly opened the door to the study room that Mori managed to reserve for them.

He was already there waiting for her. A large book was set in the middle, with various worksheets spread out in front of him. The numbers on the pages made her head spin.

"Morning," she mumbled, not too sure what else to say.

"Hey," he slowly replied, giving her a small smile. It helped to relax her a bit, and she took the seat across from him.

"So…" she awkwardly began. "What's with all the worksheets?"

"I want to determine where you are with math, then we can go from there," he replied, handing over a few sheets.

Kagome nodded her head, it made sense. Slowly, she set to work. It took her longer than she would've liked, but ten minutes before class officially started she was done.

Mori took the papers and said, "We'll meet again next week after I've taken a look at these."

Kagome nodded her head. "Thanks, for all of this."

He softly hummed and shook his head as if saying no problem.

Kagome made to move when Mori's curiosity got the better of him.

"What set you off, yesterday?"

Kagome shrugged her shoulders as if it wasn't as big a deal as it was. And she almost didn't answer. But she owed him. "I just….I don't like it when people try to change others."

Humming, Mori patted Kagome's shoulders reassuringly. "You are who you are. Nothing or nobody can change that without your consent."

"You really think so?"

He smiled and nodded his head confidently in his reassurance.

"You should come back to the club today."

"I don't know, I made a big scene yesterday," she replied, fiddling with the cuffs of her Ouran blazer.

Mori snorted and sent her a pointed look. Kagome blushed under the attention, mostly from embarrassment at what she had just said. It wasn't like the Host Club were shrinking violets themselves.

"I'll see you there," she grumbled as she pouted, earning a chuckle from the third year.
