Move Along
Chapter 032
"So, what's with the twins," Kagome asked as soon as Mori took the seat opposite of her. She hadn't returned to the Host Club after checking on Nekozawa the other day. "I just saw Hikaru with pink hair."
Mori sighed as he pulled out the materials he had prepared for the day's tutoring session. "They're fighting."
Kagome nodded her head, furrowing her eyebrows in contemplation. For as long as she had been at Ouran, the twins had never fought before. She wondered if there was more to it. They reminded her of a certain fox demon, sly and mischievous. And there were two of them; they were definitely up to something.
"It seems you have trouble with some of the basics," Mori spoke, garnering her attention. It was interesting, grading his work. The second year understood the work rather well, to an extent. When it came down to execution, he made all his mistakes early on. And considering his track record with school, it wasn't too surprising.
"Tell me something new," Kagome muttered, laying her head on the desk in defeat.
Mori hummed encouragingly and laid out one of the sheets he had corrected. Once he was sure he had his attention, he slowly explained the process.
Kagome straightened up and began to actively focus. She had always hated math, even when she had been a normal student. But slowly, the dots began to connect for her.
Once the half hour passed, she helped him clean up.
"I know I've said this before, but uh…thanks for the help. Really, it means a lot to me" she stated with a blush in embarrassment, looking anywhere but the older student.
Mori smiled softly and ruffled her hair fondly.
Kagome tensed up at the show of affection, but quickly relaxed. Mori had a calming presence, and she was glad he was the one tutoring her.
