Move Along

Chapter 033

Kagome was replying to a text to her brother when she saw the first year stomp by. She hadn't expected to see anybody during lunch. She never did since she ate outside by the fountain. And though she could have easily stayed in the classroom, she preferred to be outdoors.

"Yo, Haruhi," she called out to the other girl, garnering her attention. At the sight of her, the brunette quickly changed direction and joined the second year by the fountain.

"Kagome-kun, I didn't know you ate outside," Haruhi said.

"Yeah, it's quieter here. And the cafeteria prices are just outside my budget," Kagome replied before taking another bite of the food she had prepared. Haruhi nodded her head as she finally got to take a bite of her own food.

"What brings you out here," Kagome asked. It was very rare she saw Haruhi outside of club hours.

The smaller girl sighed tiredly as she put her food down to answer. "The twins. Their stupid fight is getting out of hand."

"They're still fighting. What happened?"

"They've been arguing all day. They drove me nuts during homeroom and started a food fight in the cafeteria," Haruhi ranted, clearly frustrated.

Kagome took another bite of rice before inquiring, "What started all of this? They were getting along when I left yesterday."

"I don't know. They were playing that stupid guessing game when I guessed them apart," Haruhi answered, physically deflating.

Kagome hummed thoughtfully as she laid a comforting hand on the other girl's shoulder. "Don't worry too much. I'm sure they'll make up soon."

"Yeah, I guess you're right."
