Chapter 040
Kagome closed her notebook shut with a grimace, though she was starting to understand more she still hated math. Sighing, she looked up at Mori to see him looking at her in amusement. "So, do you have any plans for the holiday?"
He blinked twice before replying, "Oh, yeah. The club's going to the pool, did you want to join us?"
"Sounds fun, but no thanks," she replied. And it did sound like fun. She hadn't gone swimming in a while, but it probably wasn't a good idea. Besides, she was busy that weekend.
"Are you sure?"
"It's not that," Kagome replied with a shake of her head. "I promised to help one of my guardians with his seminar."
Mori nodded his head in understanding. Kagome smiled at him, causing the older boy to blush. Oblivious, she asked, "Could you look out for, Haruhi for me? The others can be pretty overwhelming."
The third year froze at that and uncharacteristically blurted out, "Do you like her?"
Whatever answer he was expecting, it wasn't for Kagome to suddenly bust out laughing. Though he was confused, it was nice to see him so carefree.
"Sorry, that was just so sudden," Kagome, replied between chuckles holding onto her sides. She probably should have expected that question sooner. She did spend a lot of time with the younger girl, and had joined the Host Club just for her sake. "I do like her, just not like that."
He hummed in reply and left it at that.
