Move Along

Chapter 052

Kagome was reluctant to leave the changing room. If she was going to get through the weekend, she was going to have to be extra careful. She had decided to forgo a swimsuit altogether, uncaring of what Kyoya would have to say. Instead she wore a pair of cargo pants and a short-sleeved hoodie. It wasn't ideal, but it should work.

Exiting the changing room, she decided to wander around the beach for a bit. She easily ignored the others who were having fun before spotting Haruhi off on her own.

"This sucks," the brown haired girl complained with a sigh as she stared in disbelief at Honey and Mori, who were leading some kind of weird exercise. "I thought going to the beach would mean a day off."

Kagome stifled a laugh as she joined the other girl under the parasol. "I couldn't agree with you more."

"Kagome-kun, you're not going to go swimming," Haruhi asked.

She shook her head as she made herself comfortable. "Nah, I can't swim," she lied, figuring the little white lie would keep her out of the water.

"Really," she said in disbelief. Kagome just seemed like the type of person who could do everything.

Kagome shrugged and shoulder bumped the younger girl. "It's a shame though, that you can't have fun in the water also."

"I'll manage," Haruhi replied as she went back to gazing at the water. She would have liked to swim, but at least this would help her pay off her debt faster.

"I guess, I'll just have to keep you company then," Kagome promised.
