Hello guys! I know it's been a long time since I posted a new chapter. Three years actually. I make no promises of consistent chapter-making from now on. However, I do plan on seeing this story completed. Anyways, for those who aren't that into the whole crossover idea, don't worry about it! I plan for these crossovers to be brief, just for the sole purpose of expounding on Harry's character and background. Please also take note that this chapter is set post- Percy Jackson: The Last Olympian. So with that, please carry on with the story!
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THE HARRY POTTER SERIES
Previously from Chapter 8~
Grover noticing Harry turned to face him, "You ready?"
Harry just nodded. Grover then called out, "Mrs. O'Leary! Time to get out of here!"
A huge hellhound then leapt out of the shadows, snagged Harry and Grover on its back, then leapt back into the shadows.
Harry felt discomfort for a second before it was gone. 'It's not as bad as apparition,' he thought.
Harry's vision cleared and he looked up ahead to see a strawberry filled field, and some differently decorated cabins. Grover just watched Harry, amused at his reaction.
"Well, welcome to Camp Half-Blood!"
Harry snapped out of his awe to analyze his surroundings. He found that there were 20 cabins all in all, each having their own unique design.
He turned to Grover and asked, "So these cabins each represent their respective god or goddess, am I correct?"
Grover nodded at him grinning amusedly, "Looks like you're a quick study, kid. This makes it easier for me to brief everything to ya." Seeing Harry not willing to continue on with conversation, he added, "C'mon kid. I'll have to bring ya to see Chiron and maybe Mr. D if he's feeling accommodating."
The two then walked towards the large sky blue house, which is apparently called, "The Big House," while Grover chatted animatedly on about the different gods and goddesses, as well as the activities of the camp.
Harry just listened disinterestedly as he wandered his indifferent gaze around the camp and catalogued everything he sees in his mind. From his observations he came to three conclusions. One, he was in America. Two, these people valued battle skills. Three, his skills in stealth and silent killing wouldn't be looked on approvingly here.
Though Harry saw these people, demigods- his mind corrected, as powerful warriors. He was confident that the skills his ancestor learned as an assassin were far above the skills displayed by these demigods. In other words, he dismissed them as not a threat to his well-being.
Brought out of his thoughts, he saw that he and Grover had finally arrived at the Big House.
Grover seized his chatter and knocked on the wooden door calling out, "Hey Chiron! I finally got the demigod from Italy!"
The door opened abruptly to reveal a wizened old man in a wheelchair with eyes that seem to express the experience and knowledge he has gained in his lifetime.
Seeing Harry, Chiron beamed. "So you are the demigod Grover's been sensing? I'm Chiron the camp's activities director. I would introduce to Mr. D, the director of this camp, but he seems to be in one of his foul moods at the moment."
Harry reached out and shook Chiron's hand in a firm hand-shake, "Pleased to meet you, sir. I am Harry Potter, a demigod apparently. Would you happen to know whom my godly parent is?"
At this Chiron explained, "Well that's the whole part of the process of coming to this camp. Once a demigod comes to Camp Half-Blood, they are then claimed by their godly parent as their child. Afterwards, they are to proceed to their respective cabin, where they shall stay."
"Hm. Well when will my godly parent claim me then?" Harry asked with concealed impatience.
However Chiron saw through this as he smiled bemusedly. "I know you are impatient, child. Just know that within the week you will be claimed. You are lucky I suppose, since before the war between the gods and demigods vs the titans, demigods had a tendency to remain unclaimed for years."
Harry just nodded, satisfied at this answer and turned back to Grover, whom Harry noticed was watching the conversation play out, bored out of his mind. "Well it's apparent he's done this multiple times for it to become common occurrence to him," Harry thought.
Grover took notice of the silence and said, "Well if that's all then let me escort you to the Hermes cabin. The unclaimed stay there until they get claimed within the week."
As Grover and Harry headed out towards the Hermes cabin, Grover spotted his two best friends, Percy and Annabeth, having a moment right outside the cabin.
Excited by the sight of his friends he called out, "Percy! Annabeth! Hey, wassup guys?"
Percy and Annabeth both turned to Grover and gave him friendly smiles.
"Hey Grover! It's been a long time! Where've you been, man?" asked Percy as he and Annabeth headed over to meet Grover on his way to the cabin.
"Well," Grover rubbed the back of his neck. "I've been sensing a powerful demigod lately in Italy. It took a long time for me to catch him."
The trio turned as Harry coughed deliberately. "Excuse me. This 'powerful demigod' is right here." Harry looked pointedly at the three.
"Oh haha… Sorry man. I guess I just got carried away, seeing my best friends after a long time," Grover said sheepishly. "Anyways, Harry these are my friends, Percy and Annabeth. Guys, this is Harry," he said gesturing between them.
"Hey," the three said in unison.
"Looks like you'll be staying in the Hermes cabin," Percy stated. "I remember being the new kid once, it isn't so bad. You'll be claimed soon enough and be with all your half-brothers and sisters."
"Yeah, and you got seaweed-brain here to thank for that," Annabeth said grinning as she bumped shoulders with Percy.
"Hey! Don't call me that in front of the kid! You're gonna destroy my rep here! Percy said with a mock scowl.
The three friends laughed at the expense of Percy. For Harry, it was obvious that these three had been through a lot together.
As the three friends talked animatedly to each other, recounting various adventures they've had together, Harry listened intently. 'It seems that these three are of the most powerful demigods here,' Harry thought frowning. 'Because of them, they won the war, and in turn became the most influential in this camp. It's a good idea to integrate myself and create some sort of friendly rapport with them to reap the benefits of this relationship.'
Then one phrase caught his attention. "- just because I'm the son of Poseidon doesn't mean…"
'The son of Poseidon?' Harry thought. 'It seems I was right in my decision. Percy would indeed make a powerful friend and a powerful ally. Perhaps he will help me in the future war against Voldemort. Only sheep believe he is gone for good, and I am not one of them.'
As they arrived at the front of the cabin, Harry cleared his throat. "Well here I am. See you guys around?"
"Sure. If you got anything you need, don't be afraid to ask for any of us," Percy said gesturing to him, Annabeth and Grover.
"I'll remember that. Thanks," Harry replied graciously before entering the cabin and closing the door behind him.
Turning around, Harry analyzed his surroundings, taking note of the various canopies laid around on the floor. He also observed that most of the campers inside all looked similar, with mischievous smiles on their faces.
He heard footsteps approach his side as a voice called out, "Hey! You're the new kid right?"
Yeah so there's probably going to be one more chapter for the crossover with the Percy Jackson universe to divulge Harry's godly parent, then it's back to the main story-line for the Philosopher's Stone.
Don't forget to leave some reviews for suggestions, corrections, and comments!
I also created a poll in case you guys want to vote for yourselves on who gets to be Harry's godly parent. You can find this poll by simply going to my profile! :)
