Authors Note: I realise that it's been a bit since I've updated, and I do apologies for how long it's taken...Ugh. I would really like to get to a place where I don't have to start my authors notes with "I realise it's been a long time..." but with school I don't see that happening very soon. Hopefully I can less the time in between. That being said I hope you all are enjoying the story so far (and thank you for those who've left comments, made this story one of their favourites, and have become followers) and as always comments are appreciated, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Disclaimer: Once again, Harry Potter and his universe were created by the wonderful J.K. Rowling. The Hobbit, and all characters associated with his writing are the work of the brilliant and masterful J.R.R Tolkien.

Everything else belongs to me (for some reason every time I say this I think of the Little Mermaid.)

As Lila saw it she had two options at this point: She could ignore her friends and act as if they all hadn't been clobbered over the head with Balin's story, or she could deal with the consequences of keeping secrets from them. Admittedly, there was a rather large part of her that wanted to lean back against the tree, go to sleep, and ignore the confused and scared looks they were giving her. She had dealt with enough this evening and really didn't want to add to that, well, that and she didn't want to spend the next five hours answer the questions they were bound to have. However, she knew that putting it off would only create more problems and that was something that she really wanted to avoid at the moment.

With a long-suffering sigh Lila pushed herself up onto her feet and stretched. "You can stop with that knowing look old man. I'll tell you when I'm good and ready." She said when she caught the look on Gandalf's face, similar to the one that Albus often wore.

"Oh, I have little doubt of that my dear and I look forward to hearing what it is you're so desperate to hide." She hmped and after tugging down her cap a bit more she marched over to the group, ignoring the pair of eyes she could feel following her. If Thorin had something to say to her, well, he could take a number and get in the bloody queue.

"Not a word until the spell is up." She said to both Ginny and Hermione who had their mouths opened and poised to ask a million and one questions. She made quick work of silencing the area they were in and once she found a comfortable spot against a rock wasted no time in explaining. "That story sounds familiar because it's what happened to Thorin –I just changed the names–and to answer the question that's running around in your heads, I had foreknowledge of Middle Earth before we came here." The silence that fell was almost defining and only served to bring her headache to the forefront of her mind.

"I…don't understand." Hermione said with a perplexed look.

If Lila had the energy to laugh and this was a laughing matter she might have given into the urge. She doubted very few had ever heard Granger say that out loud or look the way she did now; her god father certainly would have killed to seen it.

"Well that certainly makes two of us Hermione." She said with something of a sigh. "All I can tell you is that I've known about this place since I was young."

"By 'known' what exactly does that entail?"

Lila considered Ginny's question for a moment. "I know about the history of Arda and that include its creation as well as the creation of its inhabitants, which a few of you have heard at one point during the war." she hesitated. "and I also know several languages that are spoken here." She scowled a little and added. "Which hasn't worked in my favour while we've been traveling with the dwarves."

At Ginny's quizzical look, she shook her head. "Let's just say that one of those languages that I know is Khuzdul -also called Dwarvish- and leave it at that."

Hermione absently nodded as her forehead puckered in concentration. "How young is young?"

She lifted her shoulder and let it fall. "Since I was seven or eight I guess." The lines on Hermione's forehead increased to the point that Lila couldn't help but wonder what road her thoughts had taken, and it was obvious she wasn't the only one because no one was using Grangers silence to ask questions of their own; to which she was grateful for. She honestly didn't have answers to half the questions she had, and she doubted she'd be able to answer half the questions they had; and just like Hermione she really didn't like unanswered questions.

"When was the first time that you used magic Lila?"

She looked thoughtful for a moment before answering. "I think I was seven the first time." She smiled a little. "Ended up halfway up a tree trying to get away from a really ticked off dog."

"What are you thinking Granger?" Draco asked. "Because we can hear the wheels grinding and I'm sure all of us would like to know."

Hermione shot Draco a pursed looked before turning her attention back to Lila. "Did you have knowledge of this place before you first used magic?"

"No." She didn't have to give that particular question any real thought as the years before Middle Earth had been unhappy ones. "Up until the first time I displayed magic I had no knowledge of this place and even after that the information came in bursts." It was her turn to frown in consideration. "I suppose it's possible that the first time I used magic triggered something and then continued to replace the missing information over time."

Hermione gave her a weighted look. "Which is what I wondered."

"It of course doesn't explain how, why, or where that information came from." Harry said as his hand automatically found his scar. Maybe she should get him a hat or something, so he wouldn't keep scratching at his forehead all the time.

"Do you have any idea Lila?" Luna asked without looking up from her careworn quibbler.

"No, I don't, and I've had several months to think about it." It was her turn to scratch at her head. "Nothing makes any sense and I don't know how to make sense of it." It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that she was annoyed and scared and thankfully they kept the questions to themselves for a few minutes.

"I don't think it's a coincidence." Hermione eventually said, her voice sounding somewhat nervous. "us being here and you having knowledge of this place."

"No, I don't think it is either and that's not at all comforting." Lila said as she dug her fingers into the bridge of her nose. "The goings on in this world is so much different than they are in our world and I'm not sure I want to find out where I fit into it all."

"Don't suppose you know whether or not they've got any prophecies about chosen ones?" Ron asked with a look that clearly said he was trying to lighten the tense atmosphere.

Lila gave him something of a smile. "No, I don't know, but for all of our sakes I hope there isn't….one prophecy war was enough for me, thanks."

They all nodded in unison.
