Hello everyone! I am still back and still here. I just recently updated 'Lost Little Boy' and was thrilled to see that several people both read and reviewed it in not even 24 hours. Yay! So I am going to update this story now since it seems to be one of the more popular stories I've created. Im sure several of you guys have missed 'Returning to Camelot' updates.
To refresh your mind Arthur and Guinevere have twins, Guinevere just had a baby girl, they are married and all back in Camelot. Merlin and Morgana are together as well (ShOCKER!) I might make a oneshot of how they came to be a couple in Returning to Camelot possibly... if enough people want to read that anyways. Vivian is also in Camelot and DEFINATELY up to no good. The knights are uncles and all is well in Camelot!. . . or is it?
Also been thinking of creating a story of Arthur and Guineveres departure of Camelot and how they adjust to life outside the castle. Like a prequal of this story sorta. I wont do it though until after I have wrapped up more other stories. But THOUGHTS ON THIS IDEA WOULD BE APPRICIATED! (If you want not that you have to give thoughts haha)
Anyways without further blabbing... here is the chapter!
The night seemed to slide by as uneventful while the Pendragon family slept in The Prince of Camelots chambers. All resting peacefully and for the first time in a long time. It was not long before the morning rays of dawn began to slide through the window as tiny little Krissy began to stir a little in her blanket that surrounded her. Her bright blue eyes slipped open to gaze upon the new wonders of the world. It seemed so large for a small child of her size though she was very much content being tucked into her fathers side on the ground. Arthur gave a light snore through his chest, causing the little girl to move her head at the sound. Her face scrunched as he snored again letting out a sorta tiny wail of distress.
"Whaaa-" the sound cut off as Arthur lifted up his head startled by the sudden cries of his daughter. His blue eyes flickered down as a small half frown appeared upon his lips. "Hey little one what's the matter?" Arthur murmured as he gave a yawn his hand slowly moving up to lightly rub her soft fuzzy little head. "Shhh my sweet baby girl. There is nothing to be frightened of..." Arthur hushed while his arm slowly slid around her little body into a more snug and secure position. This seemed to calm the little infant for moment as her cries turned into light little noises of settling down and contentment. Arthur smiled with a light chuckle, leaning down to bring his lips to the top of her head. "There we go, all better now" He said softly before his eyes flickered upwards to the bed. Arthurs shoulders relaxed as he saw that both his wife and the twins were still fast asleep on the bed, undisturbed by Krissy's little crying fit.
Now that Arthur was more awake his mind suddenly seemed to be buzzing with both questions and concerns that had come up within the past twenty four hours since he left for Camelot yesterday morning. He glanced down at his precious little Princess, gently gathering her into his arms as he strode over to gaze out the window. The sun was slowly moving up on the horizon, casting a faint morning glow over Camelot. After five years of being absent from the great city Arthur wasn't sure if he'd ever find his way back home. But now with his whole family safe within the castle walls Arthur couldn't stop thinking about the conversation he had with his father. Would he ever truly accept Guinevere and the children as his family? His marriage as legal to the crown? Arthur still felt that his father only accepted it because he didn't want to lose Arthur again. It was both a relief and a newly formed stress Arthur wasn't sure he was ready to handle. His priorities had grown and the most important thing to him now was his children's futures. He wanted them to live out their lives with a choice, no matter what life they were born into. Arthur wanted to support and encourage them as a parent, something he didn't experience much with his own father. Arthur still worried because even if Uther stayed silent of his consent for Arthurs demands to them staying in Camelot, he knew it would only be a matter of time before he and his father clashed about how Arthur was raising his children. He didn't think he could ever place that stress on the twins. He was wondering if it was worth it to keep them here?
Also there was a matter of Princess Vivian that seemed to have arrived into Camelot. Arthur hadn't had a clue why she was here and even after all these years she still was just as in love with him as she was when they parted ways. But why? Surely she could have found another suiter by now? He knew he would need to speak to her again, try and figure out why she was so persistent. Or perhaps he could show her that he was happy with Guinevere and his children. Maybe if she saw the reality of the situation she would move on easier. Arthur hoped that his father wouldn't try to get in the middle of his marriage either. But he couldn't be for certain. He knew he would have to keep a close eye on the King for a while if he and Guinevere did decide to stay in Camelot.
Krissy stirred a little in her fathers arms before settling down again and closed her eyes. Slowly drifting off again as Arthur rocked back and fourth on his feet while staring at the window.
Over by the bed the morning light was slowly beginning to filter into the room causing Guinevere to stir a little as her eyes slowly fluttered open. She had always been accustomed to rising early. "Hmm?" she mumbled as her gaze flickered over to smile softly at her two darling children curled up together in the bed by her side. She couldn't believe that they were all back in Camelot again. She never could have imagined that her and Arthur would have created such a beautiful life with children and a place of their own, he had even become somewhat of a decent farmer within the years they lived out in the country. But now they were back in the world of Camelot and Guinevere wasn't sure what the future would hold. Even discussing it with her husband several times Guinevere still wasn't sure. As her thoughts continued to swim around in her head Guinevere glanced up seeing Arthur already awake and looking out the window while holding a sleeping Krissy. She sighed gently and could already tell he was troubled. He was most likely having the same thoughts she was. Where do they go from here?
Guinevere slowly sat up in bed while also frowning a bit as she moved her hand to her stomach. She flinched because she was still really sore from having the baby just last night and she felt a little lightheaded, probably because she hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon. Guinevere sighed softly while slowly slipping from the bed as she quietly walked over to her love and their precious newborn child. Even through the soreness Guinevere made her way over and then slowly wrapped her arms around Arthurs waist from behind, pressing herself closely into her husbands body. She rested the side of her face against his strong muscular back as her arms moved up around his stomach to pull him closer. "Good morning Arthur..." She said softly feeling him relax as she held him. It felt like forever since she embraced him like this.
Arthur hadn't noticed his wife's soft footsteps across the floor but he did immediately relax into her touch as she embraced him. "Guinevere love you should be resting" Arthur murmured as he slowly turned to the side, shifting Krissy to one of his arms as his other moved to wrap around Guinevere's shoulders, pulling her closer against his side. Arthur smiled as he lightly kissed her forehead, his hand sliding up to gently caress the back of her head while now resting his chin on her forehead. He felt whole, so complete to be holding her after so long. "What are you doing up?" he murmured as his eyes shifted towards the bed, glad to see that the twins were still fast asleep. They had a long day yesterday and needed the rest.
"You looked troubled Arthur. Whats on your mind?" Guinevere asked as she smiled at her sleeping daughter in Arthurs arms. It made her so happy that their children could stay asleep so easily when being held by their father. She kept one arm around Arthur as her other hand slid up to gently stroke Krissy's little head. Arthurs touch also relaxing her and soothing her headache a bit. She couldn't be happier then this moment right here in Arthurs arms.
He frowned as his eyes glanced down at her before flickering towards the window again, seeing the sun slowly begin moving up further into the sky. "I just was thinking of my father actually and the conversation we shared. He still has trouble understanding our situation. And I... I don't honestly know if I want our children growing up here in Camelot Guinevere. I know it might be the safest place for them in the sense that they will be living in the castle quarters, always have a meal and a warm bed to sleep on. But... I don't know if being the Princess and Prince of Camelot would overwhelm them or not. I will not push them out of their childhood and into preparation of becoming the next rulers of the kingdom for the next several years of their lives. I wont see them dealing with the pressures and responsibilities that my father bestowed on me since I was young. And I know he will be overbearing about my perspective of this. And Amhar sensed the distress I was under with my father and worried that he and I would potentially have arguments like that in the future. I don't want that to happen with either of them Guinevere..." Arthur whispered as he lowered his eyes.
"Arthur... hey..." Guinevere murmured as she slid her hand up pulling back as she lightly caressed his face a little. "Arthur look at me..." she said, waiting until he met her eyes before she said anymore. When his distressed blue met her concerned brown Guinevere started to speak softly, her hand continuing to stroke his cheek. "You are not your father Arthur. I know you still have issues with him over what's happened but you cant let that cloud your mind. I... I think we should stay in Camelot. You are the future King of Camelot and your place is here with your people. We have built an amazing life together and I wouldn't trade it for anything. We have three beautiful children and we are bound by marriage and love to each other. There is no way you will lose any of that. But you cant change who you are or who our children are. And I know how much you care for Amhar and Anna, they adore you and will never doubt you. They love you and know you'll always be there for them. And yes I know your father will clash opinions with us over how we teach them things but you just need to find a balance. We are in this together my love and always will be. Show our children the man I fell in love with. One who is kind and just and protects his people, his kingdom and those he loves with a fearless strength I've always seen in you. I know you miss being in Camelot and leading the knights, being a Prince. Being who you are. That desire has never left you Arthur" Guinevere said with a soft understanding smile. "Share your wisdom and the world you know with our children. I know you desire that more then anything even if your in confliction with trying to keep them safe. They will thrive here, far better then anywhere else."
The Prince bit his lip while heaving a sigh as his eyes flickered down to their sweet newborn baby girl. Guinevere's calming hand on his face gently relaxing him, "Guinevere..." Arthur murmured. "I.." he frowned because she made much more valid points that he did consider but he wanted the safety of his children to come first. "Your right." He said glancing up to look into her eyes. "I just want what's best for our children... and I would never forgive myself if anything ever happened to any of you." he said quietly though she was right. Deep down Arthur was restless without his Prince duties, patrolling the boarders, fighting with his knights... he tried to put that life behind him for the protection of his family. Which was also stressful that he had to protect them from his own father. He knew his father and yesterday was proof that he didn't completely trust him yet. Perhaps it could change... but Arthur defiantly wouldn't take any chances. He would definitely keep his guard up for a while if they were to stay here.
"Arthur your not alone. You still have the loyalty of the knights, Merlin and Gaius I'm sure. You do have the support you need behind you. Trust me when I say this is the best future we can give them." Guinevere said as she moved her other hand up to his face. "Now stop fretting. The only thing it will do is cause you to worry" she said lightly while holding his gaze.
Arthur leaned into her touch as he gazed back into her eyes. He sometimes didn't believe he deserved such a strong smart woman such as his wife. "I love you Guinevere. I don't know what I would do without you" he whispered as his arm tugged her closer to him. He smiled while then leaning in as he brought his lips to hers, giving her a soft sweet kiss. His shoulders relaxing as he gave affection to his wife. His nerves calming. He would lay his worries to rest for now.
"I love you too" Guinevere whispered with a light giggle as she leaned in and brought her lips to kiss Arthurs. She melted into his embrace while kissing him back, her heart beating happily as she held onto her husband. She knew there would be obstacles in the future but as for right now the precious moments such as this is what really mattered. The ones where the world disappeared as she indulged into the happiness of being with her husband, their family.
I have been working on this chapter for the past 24 hours! I decided to throw a little Arwen for you guys because looking back Arthur and Guinevere hadn't gotten much interaction in previous chapters so I thought they deserved a little chapter of their own ;)
So what do you all think? There is going to be so much filled in the next several chapters in this story. I didn't entirely have a complete direction for this but now that I have written this chapter I have a lot more clear idea of what I want. Of course Vivian will go crazy at some point, Arthur/Guinevere and their family adjusting back into the life of Camelot. So many characters that will have dynamics and interactions. I will make it more balanced between the secondary characters so that they are all not forgotten! Eeeep! I just hope your all pumped up for this story as I am!
Thank you all so much for reading and reviewing and still following and favoriting this story! Like I said I am back and intend to finish all my unworked stories. Im so sorry it took me a few years to get back here. Anyways I hope you all read and review!

PS)) I will probably be updating my 'Nightmares' story next! So look out for that update within the next week or so. It might take a bit longer since that story is normally longer chapters. I might do another 'Lost Little Boy' update as well since those are slightly shorter chapters. Anyways peace out and see you soon!
