Natalia was taking her usual morning walk around Minsk while waiting for the sunrise. Somehow today, the walk feel unusual. Even though she was walking on the same route she walks every single she walking, her mind was elsewhere
'Should I really take his offer? Or maybe I should just stick to my vow?. Either way, the scenario would be the same and soon they'll find out about Alexis anyway' Natalia sigh kind of fate will wait for her child, either good or bad, she still hope he would grow up like a normal child. Unlike her and Toris.
"Miss Natalia" someone shouts her name from afar. As she looks up, she sees her love one run towards her. Alexis was running towards her, he was clearly happy when he saw her walk down the Lithuania streets. The boy buried his face on her coat, more like snuggling.
"A-Alex" Toris call the boy."Oh, you're here. It's quite rare of you to visit here, Nat"
"I must have been daydreaming while taking my morning its good to see you again, especially Alexis" she smiles at the boy who was hugging her thigh.
"Oh, would you like to have breakfast with us?. We just bought some bread from the bakery and they just made them." by this time, Alexis' eyes sparkle in delight as he would like to have breakfast with his mother.
"Wouldn't it be such a nuisa-"
"You're not. Come on. Alex has been excited since yesterday to meet you again"
"Natalia sigh."Alright."
"Yayy come on Miss Natalia, I'll show you the way" Alex pull Natalia hand towards the directions of their house
Once they have arrive, Toris slowly push the door open. He did not want either Raivis or Eduard to awake and found Natalia's face first in the morning. Besides, he would really appreciate spending his breakfast morning with Natalia and Alexis only.
"Have a sit. It's gonna take a bit time to prepare this. Alex, come on and help me"
Alexis pouts at his father and clenches Natalia's coat tightly."Can't I accompany miss Natalia while you were preparing for breakfast?"
Toris almost fell to his son's tactic but he decides to squeal about his cute face later on. "More people to help me, the faster you'll get your breakfast"/span/p
"Natalia suddenly stand up from her seat and walk towards the kitchen with Alexis in her arm."Come on. Your father already said so. The more, the merrier isn't it?"
Outside of the Baltics house, Feliks was skipping happily to help Toris to fix they are his surprise, he found the kitchen is already full of people.
"Did Eduard and Raivis decide to wake early today to help Toris?" .He then decides to sneak to the side of the house and hide behind a bush which is the nearest to the sink. Suddenly, he hears a well-known woman's voice.
"There's no need to worry. I know how to cook. Just do your part" Natalia scold Toris.
"Y-yes"
'Shit shit shit. Is that Natalia's voice I heard just now. Toris …what did you do?'
He slowly raises his head and looks at the sink, when suddenly Alex greet him excitedly.
"Good morning, Uncle Feliks. You're quite early today"
At the moment, Feliks could feel his soul slowly slipping away from the core.
"Uh morning, Alex. Hello, Toris and…Miss Natalia. You're here too…"
"Aren't you quite early for your morning walks, Feliks?" Toris ask him.
'walk?. Since when I start to take a walk in the morning? 'Then he saw Toris make a signal for him to say yes or else.
"Ahhh yes. I fell asleep quite early last night. So here I am." He laughs nervously. "Oh well, I gotta go now. Got to finish the lapse. See you later, guys"
Along the conversation, Natalia decides to zip her mouth and finish her task. When they have finish chatting, Natalia also finish setting up the table and breakfast for them.
"Isn't Uncle Feliks quite weird today, Papa?"
"Hmm.. maybe he woke on the wrong side of the bed today. Who knows?"
"Ack... I can't find my omelette, Papa. It's on the table a few moments ago" Alex almost starts to cry when his favorite food is missing.
"I already put them on the table. Come on. I already did all of them when you were chatting just now"
At first, the situation between them was awkward as they were eating quietly and no one dares to talk.
Alex was frustrated by the silence, that he decided to ask Natalia
"Miss Natalia, are you also a representative like Papa?"
"Alexis!" Toris scold him.
"It's okay, Toris," Natalia reassure the father. Then, she looks at her son. "Yes, I am. Where did you know about that anyway Little Alex?"
"Oh... uh someone told me about... it... Anyway, which country are you represent, Miss Natalia?. Papa is the representative of Lietuvos Respublika or known as the Republic of Lithuania." his eyes sparkle in exciting and proud when he flaunts about his father secret occupation.
"Well... I am the representative of Рэспубліка Беларусь"
Alexis was a blur as he listens to the foreign language that role from her tongue. "Pardon me?"
She chuckles "It's the Republic of Belarus" then she pat his soft hair.
"Oh I know that. It's not that far from here and I heard living there was quite harsh.."
Natalia's heart immediately drops as she remembers her beloved country.
"but looking at Miss Belarus, I'm sure everything is fine. Unlike what the rumor said. Well, I can't judge a book by its cover anyway" he continues and smiles.
Her eyes went wide as he told those and it is truly warming her heart.
Well, maybe...
Maybe there is still a hope for her country... and for this family...
