Santana had some free time at work this afternoon so she decided to stop by and see Brittany at work. Brittany was in the middle of working on some choreography but thought she could use a break anyway so she stopped to hang out with Santana. They are currently in Brittany's office having some coffee together and catching up.
"I'm taking you out on a date tomorrow by the way" Brittany tells Santana.
"Oh, where to?" Santana asks curiously.
"We are going for ice cream" Brittany smiles. "I know it seems a little child-like but I thought it would be fun to just be young and carefree for a moment."
"And ice cream is just the way to do that" Santana teases.
"It is though, seriously" Brittany smiles. "I like going for drinks or dinner but something about having ice cream together seems cute."
"Well I like whatever we do together. Anything is good as long as I'm with you" Santana smiles back.
"I totally agree" Brittany nods. "Speaking of ice cream, I've never actually asked you what your favourite flavour is so enlighten me" she smiles.
"You can never go wrong with vanilla but I do quite like honeycomb" Santana replies. "You?" she asks curiously.
"I like lots of different flavours, I don't really have a favourite" Brittany shrugs. "If I really had to pick then perhaps, I'd pick chocolate because I love anything with chocolate."
"I suppose I do quite like chocolate too" Santana nods in agreement.
"So, what are your plans tonight?" Brittany asks curiously.
"Probably taking my work home with me. There's a wedding in a few days and I still need to sort out a few last-minute things. Ideally I'd have liked to do them now but the bride hasn't given me everything I need yet to get things back on track" Santana replies.
"Cool" Brittany smiles.
"What about you, what are you up to tonight?" Santana asks.
"I found another few of Rachel's things at my apartment so I need to get them boxed up and Quinn will take them to Rachel's place for me. I would do it myself but with the way we left things then I don't think Rachel wants to see me just yet" Brittany replies.
"I see" Santana nods. "Do you have everything from her apartment that was yours?" she asks.
"I didn't actually leave anything there of value. I mean it was just like a toothbrush and silly things like that so I'm not too bothered about those. I'm assuming she'll have just trashed them or something" Brittany shrugs.
"See I don't have those sorts of problems because I've never had a relationship last long enough for us to leave things at each other's places" Santana states before realising she maybe shouldn't have said that in case it puts Brittany off.
"And you never will have those problems" Brittany smiles.
"I won't?" Santana asks surprised. She assumed she and Brittany would eventually get to the stage of leaving things at the other's place.
"No because you and I won't break up so you won't need to worry about collecting all your things from my place because you'll always be able to keep them there" Brittany smiles again.
"Ok, I get it" Santana smiles back. "So, when are we going on this date?" she asks.
"Tomorrow, I told you that" Brittany teases.
"I meant when tomorrow because I do have work" Santana smiles.
"I could come by your apartment say about 7 and maybe we could get the ice cream and take a nice walk together" Brittany suggests.
"Sounds good" Santana nods. "I should probably head back to work now though and see if I have any updates on this wedding. I was really hoping to take the day off on Sunday but if I don't get finished what I need to do tomorrow then I'll need to work" she adds.
"Yeah I should get back to work too" Brittany agrees. "I'll text you tonight or something but if you're busy with work then we don't need to text long, we can just see each other at 7 tomorrow" she smiles.
"I'll speak to you either tonight or tomorrow then" Santana says while standing up and throwing her coffee carton in the trash. "Enjoy the rest of you day at work" she says before leaning over to kiss Brittany.
"You too" Brittany smiles. Santana then reluctantly leaves and heads back to work. She wishes she could stay all day talking with Brittany but she has to work otherwise she has no money.
It's Saturday night and Brittany has just knocked on Santana's apartment door and is waiting on her answering so they can go out on their ice cream date. They didn't really get a chance to continue talking last night because Santana finally manged to progress with the wedding she's currently planning. Brittany didn't mind too much because Santana said if she got through all her work then they could hang out tomorrow so she's hoping Santana is now free tomorrow.
"Hey" Santana smiles while opening the door and inviting Brittany inside.
"Hi" Brittany smiles back.
"Sorry I took so long to answer. I literally just stepped into the bathroom as you knocked on the door" Santana tells Brittany.
"That's ok" Brittany shrugs. "You look nice by the way" she adds.
"Thank you" Santana blushes slightly. "It's not too much is it for going out for ice cream?" she asks nervously.
"Not at all, you look beautiful" Brittany smiles.
"Thanks" Santana smiles back. "You look pretty hot too."
"It's a good thing we're going for ice cream then and I can cool down" Brittany teases.
"I suppose it is" Santana smiles again. "Anyway, I'm ready now so shall we head?" she asks.
"Yeah, let's go" Brittany smiles. Santana locks up and then they leave the building.
"So how was work?" Santana asks as they begin walking towards the ice cream place that Brittany wants to take Santana to.
"It was ok, busy but ok" Brittany replies. "What about yours?" she asks.
"Yeah, the same really" Santana nods.
"So are you free tomorrow then because I've cleared my schedule so I'm hoping we can do something together" Brittany says.
"I did manage to get things sorted out at work today so I am able to take the day off" Santana replies.
"Cool" Brittany says excitedly. She's looking forward to a full day with Santana doing something fun.
"Please don't take this the wrong way though, I am actually quite exhausted since I've been working every day this week so I don't know if I just want a quiet day tomorrow" Santana admits. Tomorrow is her only day off since last Sunday so the last 6 days at work have been quite stressful so she wants some time to relax away from work.
"That's ok, I totally get it" Brittany nods. She is a little sad that they can't hang out anymore but she really does understand because she can see how hard Santana works. "We can hang out next weekend or something" she suggests with a shrug.
"That's like another 6 or 7 days away, I don't know if I want to wait that long" Santana replies.
"I'm working right from Monday through to Friday this week and I can't really change my schedule because there's a lot going on at the moment at work" Brittany says.
"Ok well why don't you come back to my place tonight and maybe spend the night then tomorrow we could just hang out. I know it's not exciting being home all day but I thought we could just relax and watch a movie or something together" Santana suggests.
"I could do that" Brittany smiles.
"I know it's not exciting but I'd rather spend the morning sleeping in bed with you than on my own and just hanging out with you watching movies or something" Santana says.
"No, it sounds great, I'd love to do that" Brittany nods. She would rather do nothing with Santana than not do anything on her own. Also, to be quite honest, she wouldn't mind just relaxing on the couch rather than having to get dressed up to go out since work has been quite busy for her too recently.
"We should enjoy the rest of tonight though first" Santana states.
"I agree" Brittany smiles. When they reach the ice cream shop, Brittany goes ahead and opens the door and holds it open for Santana.
"Thank you" Santana replies. They then make their way over to the counter and order what they want before paying for it and leaving again.
"This is simple but kinda romantic, right?" Brittany says as they walk along the street together. There's gentle music playing as the moon lights up the sky.
"I did always like this part of town at night, it's really beautiful" Santana points out.
"Apparently, if you're with someone when there's a full moon then you'll be with them forever" Brittany says. "Tonight, there's a full moon babe" she adds with a smile.
"Is that true?" Santana asks curiously.
"So, I've heard but I don't really know for sure" Brittany shrugs. "Whether it's true or not, I still think we could be together forever" she smirks.
"I really hope so" Santana smiles. She's really falling for Brittany so she really does hope things go according to plan and they do stay together.
"Me too" Brittany nods. They walk quietly along the street as they finish their ice creams. Brittany finishes hers first so she gently reaches out in search of Santana's hand and intertwines their fingers. Santana looks at her and smiles before going back to finishing eating her ice cream.
"I'm starting to get a little cold so do you want to just head back to my place now?" Santana asks. She's not sure if it's the air or if she's just cold because she's been eating ice cream but she feels like it might be nicer to just go back to her place and relax together in the warmth.
"We can if you want" Brittany replies. The date hasn't lasted as long as she thought it would but to be quite honest, she would much rather relax with Santana because they both have been working a lot so they're tired.
"I know you wanted this to be a cute date but…"
"It's ok" Brittany smiles while interrupting Santana. "It can still be a date when we get back to your place but maybe a little more low key since we're both exhausted" she adds.
"I promise we'll do something more fun when work is less stressful for the two of us" Santana tells Brittany.
"I'll hold you to that" Brittany states.
"I always keep my promises" Santana says while squeezing Brittany's hand as they walk back to her apartment. They enjoy the peaceful atmosphere around them as they walk hand in hand.
"Do you know, I've just realised I don't have anything to wear tonight or tomorrow because I wasn't expecting to stay at your place tonight. I didn't bring a change of clothes or even pyjamas with me" Brittany says, breaking the comfortable silence around them.
"You can borrow something of mine for tomorrow and as for tonight, maybe you won't need any pyjamas" Santana smirks.
"Oh really?" Brittany asks with a smirk and Santana nods. "What about you, will you need pyjamas?" she asks.
"I hadn't planned on wearing them, no" Santana shrugs.
"Excellent" Brittany smiles. "Now we better head back to your place and quickly" she says while walking quicker and pulling Santana along a little.
It's Monday morning so Brittany and Santana are both back at work and as busy as ever. Brittany is going to be busy choreographing routines most of the morning so she's going to call Santana once she has a break and they can make some plans when to see each other this week. Santana has currently just finished making herself some coffee and is heading back to her office when she notices someone at the reception area.
"Rachel?" Santana says surprised. "W-what are you doing here?" she asks nervously. She really doesn't know why Rachel is here but she's assuming it's to talk to her because she doesn't know anyone else here.
"I wanted to talk to you about something" Rachel replies, smiling.
"Ok" Santana nods. "Come to my office" she says while turning and walking towards her office.
"Thank you" Rachel replies and they walk towards the office. When they get inside Santana closes the door behind them and offers Rachel a seat.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Santana asks. In the back of her mind though, she has a rough idea of what this might be about.
"I think it's obvious, is it not?" Rachel replies.
"Yeah, I guess it is" Santana states. She is really starting to freak out now because it must be about her and Brittany. Rachel must know somehow because why else would she be here.
"It's wedding related" Rachel states.
"Oh, ok" Santana smiles, sighing in relief that Rachel isn't here for the reason she thought she was.
"Why else would I be here?" Rachel asks noticing Santana's relief.
"It doesn't matter" Santana shakes her head. "So, who's wedding then?" she asks. She doesn't mean to assume it's not Rachel's but given the circumstances she finds it highly unlikely it would be Rachel's wedding right now. It's fair to say she could have moved on by now because Brittany has but she thinks even a wedding is just too quick for Rachel. Santana certainly wouldn't be marrying Brittany at the moment so she can only assume Rachel isn't marrying anyone.
"It's a really good friend of mine" Rachel replies.
"Ok" Santana nods.
"We work together and she's been a really good friend to me all through the years but more so lately after everything that's happened" Rachel says. "I want to do something special for her so I'm going to surprise her by hiring a wedding planner for her and that way all the stress of the wedding is taken out."
"That sounds like a lovely idea Rachel" Santana smiles. "So, do you just want me to recommend some good wedding planners that I know?" she asks, assuming that's what Rachel wants from her.
"What, no" Rachel shakes her head. "I want you to plan the wedding for her so I want to hire you" she smiles.
"Oh, uh…I don't know Rachel" Santana says unsurely.
"You did a great job at planning my wedding. I mean I know the wedding never happened in the end but what you did plan for us was amazing. You really helped out a lot and I would really like you to plan my friend's wedding for her" Rachel replies.
"I do appreciate what you're saying Rachel but I don't know if it's a good idea right now" Santana replies. She is so conflicted about what to do. On the one hand it's Brittany's ex she could be working with but on the other hand, another job wouldn't hurt. She certainly isn't struggling for work at the moment but turning down a potential earner might not be wise because she could regret it if she ever did go through a dry working spell.
"I felt I could trust you when we were working together so I'd really like you to do this for my friend because I wouldn't know any of these other wedding planners" Rachel tells her.
"Can I get back to you on it?" Santana asks.
"Ok but don't take too long because I can't really wait around" Rachel replies.
"I won't" Santana assures Rachel. "I really have somewhere I need to be now though" she adds.
"That's fine, I won't keep you any longer" Rachel says while heading towards the door.
"Well thank you anyway Santana for your time today" Rachel smiles.
"No problem" Santana smiles back as she opens the office door for Rachel. "Like I say though I need to rush off but I can get one of my staff members to walk you out if you like" she offers.
"No don't be silly, I'll be fine" Rachel smiles. "You go to wherever you need to go."
"Ok" Santana nods.
"Take care Santana" Rachel smiles.
"You too" Santana replies and then Rachel leaves. Santana then grabs her things and leaves as well but out the back door of the offices. It might seem like an excuse to get Rachel to leave but she does actually have somewhere she needs to be. If she didn't though, she might have still said that so Rachel wouldn't hang around too long. She just finds the whole situation awkward now and she doesn't know what to do.
Just as Rachel is leaving, she bumps into Santana's receptionist Emma who she knows quite well from when she was planning her wedding. She goes over to Emma to talk to her.
"Hey Emma" Rachel smiles.
"Hi Rachel" Emma smiles back. "How are you?" she asks.
"I'm doing ok" Rachel nods.
"I'm assuming you and Brittany are back together and getting the wedding back on track" Emma says to Rachel with a smile.
"Why would you think that?" Rachel asks confused.
"Brittany has been coming here almost every day for the last few weeks so I just assumed that was to get the wedding back on track" Emma points out.
"I had no idea Brittany was coming here" Rachel states.
"Maybe it's a surprise then for you" Emma shrugs. She doesn't know the full story between Brittany and Rachel so to her it looks like things could be back on track and Brittany wants to sort things out.
"I thought things between us were reasonably final but perhaps there is still hope for us" Rachel replies.
"So, you would be willing to get back together then?" Emma asks.
"I really don't know" Rachel sighs. "After everything she said to me and how final she made everything seem then I would be stupid to take her back but on the other hand, I'm not exactly over her yet so I probably would stupidly take her back."
"Well she has certainly been coming here a lot recently so she might be trying to make up for what happened and do something nice for you" Emma states.
"I don't know about that" Rachel sighs. Brittany said she wasn't in love with her anymore so she finds it very unlikely that she would want to marry her again but on the other hand she can't think of any reason as to why else Brittany would be here so much.
"Anyway, I better get back to work" Emma says.
"Yeah, I should be leaving as well now" Rachel smiles and then leaves.
Brittany is looking forward to seeing Santana tonight because they haven't really saw one another properly in a while. They briefly texted from time to time but they haven't been on any more dates or even talked in person for a number of days. She is currently making her way upstairs towards Santana's apartment. When she gets there, she knocks on the door and waits for Santana to open up.
"Hey" Santana says quietly as she opens the door and Brittany comes inside.
"Hey you" Brittany smiles before leaning in for a kiss, however Santana turns her head away. "What's wrong?" she asks confused.
"I need to talk to you about something important" Santana sighs. She closes the door behind them before they make their way through to the living room.
"No please don't do this" Brittany shakes her head. "You haven't even given us a proper chance yet so please don't do this" she says beginning to get panicked. Santana turning away instead of kissing her and then saying they need to talk can only really mean one thing now: a break up. She thought them not talking recently was just busy work schedules but add that onto now then it all adds up and it's possible Santana was just trying to avoid her.
"Do what?" Santana asks confused.
"Just please don't break things off yet. I can prove to you I am worth it and that we're meant to be together. I mean I was even going to ask you to be my girlfriend tonight" Brittany replies.
"Your girlfriend?" Santana asks shocked.
"Yeah I really want you to be so please don't break up with me yet" Brittany says, almost pleading with Santana to not break things off.
"Oh no, I'm not breaking up with you" Santana shakes her head. The girlfriend thing threw her off so she completely missed it the first time when Brittany said about a breakup.
"You're not?" Brittany questions.
"Of course not" Santana smiles.
"So, us not hanging out recently wasn't you avoiding me or anything?" Brittany asks and Santana shakes her head. "So, what about the kiss a minute ago and the important talk?" she asks.
"I've just been super busy at work so I promise I wasn't avoiding you" Santana says while moving closer to Brittany. "As for the other thing, I do have something we need to talk about so I didn't feel in the mood to kiss right now because I'm scared you might not like what I'm about to say" she admits.
"O-k" Brittany says confused.
"Look, let's sit down" Santana says while leading Brittany over to the couch. They then sit down next to one another.
"So, what's going on?" Brittany asks.
"Rachel came to see me the other day about planning a wedding for her friend" Santana replies.
"Oh wow" Brittany says surprised.
"I just feel really awkward about the whole thing and I don't know what to say" Santana says. "I know I should say no but at the same time, I am slightly considering it" she admits.
"Do you actually want to work with her?" Brittany asks curiously. She doesn't think she'd like to work with an ex of Santana so she's just wondering how Santana feels.
"Not really" Santana replies.
"So why are you considering it?" Brittany asks confused.
"The couple of weddings I'm planning just now will all be over within the next week so I won't have a lot going on plus it would be good money for me" Santana tells Brittany.
"I'm sure we could find another wedding for you to plan if you're worried about money. You're very popular Santana so there are loads of brides out there that would love to work with you" Brittany replies. Santana is extremely good at what she does so Brittany doesn't think it'll be hard to get a few more clients for her.
"It's not just the money though" Santana points out.
"Ok, so why else would you want to work with her again when you know she's my ex?" Brittany wonders.
"I started liking you when she was still with you. I shouldn't have done that and I feel bad because she had no idea" Santana states.
"Santana you don't owe her anything if that's what you think" Brittany shakes her head. "You had no idea I was engaged when we started falling for one another. If anything, I owe her not you" she tells Santana.
"We hurt her so bad Brittany so I think I need to do something to make up for it" Santana says.
"This isn't going to end well if you work with her" Brittany points out. "When she finds out about us then she's not going to like it but then she won't like it even more because you lied to her and continued to work with her when you were seeing her ex" she adds. She thinks that Santana working with Rachel is going to hurt Rachel even more because Rachel will feel that Santana should have said something to her about her and Brittany.
"Do I just tell her no then?" Santana asks.
"Honey, I don't want to tell you what to do and you're free to make up your own mind but I honestly don't see how you and her working together would make things better, if anything I feel it'll make it worse" Brittany admits.
"You're probably right" Santana sighs. It's not like she necessarily wants to work with Rachel again, she just feels she should do something for Rachel after what she and Brittany have done to her.
Brittany has come by Santana's office to see her for a while. She technically should be at work but things weren't too busy and she really wanted to see her girlfriend. She brought them some lunch so they've just finished eating. Santana is now sitting at her desk, about to go back to work while Brittany lounges on the couch that's in the office.
"I phoned Rachel the other day and told her I couldn't work with her" Santana tells Brittany.
"How did she take it?" Brittany wonders.
"She did seem ok with it but she was confused as to why I said no. She asked if it was something she did but I just made up some excuse about being busy so I wouldn't be able to give her what she needed in the time frame she wanted" Santana replies.
"That's all you really can say at the moment I think" Brittany states. She knows they need to tell Rachel about them but she doesn't know the best way to do it yet. Also, she thinks it would be better if they both spoke to Rachel about it because they both owe her that at least.
"I suppose" Santana nods.
"Speaking of time frames, I'm not in a rush to get back to work" Brittany smiles.
"Are you not?" Santana smiles. She finds it really sweet that Brittany wants to spend time with her all the time. She too does want to spend time with Brittany but she does have work to be getting on with.
"Yeah I've got some free time right now so I've got a few ideas of how to fill my time" Brittany says with a smirk.
"Oh, have you?" Santana says, smirking back.
"Yeah" Brittany nods while making her way over towards Santana. She pulls Santana to her feet and gently pushes her against the desk. Santana then slides onto it and wraps her arms around Brittany.
"You're looking especially sexy today" Santana smiles.
"I was just about to say the same to you" Brittany smiles back before leaning down to kiss Santana.
"Now that I think about it, I too think I could spare some time this afternoon" Santana smirks while gently caressing Brittany's back as they lean in and kiss again.

Rachel has just entered Santana's office building and is making her way upstairs. She wanted to talk to Santana and see if she could change her mind about planning the wedding for her friend. She doesn't understand why Santana declined because she thought Santana did a great job planning her and Brittany's wedding. They obviously didn't go through with it but she thought what Santana did was good and they got on well together so it really does puzzle her why Santana wouldn't want to work with her again.
When Rachel gets upstairs, she heads over to the reception desk to let them know she's here and that she wants to talk to Santana.
"Is Santana in her office?" Rachel asks while making her way to Santana's office, not waiting for an answer.
"Yes, but like I say about a thousand times a day, I cannot let you just walk in there" Emma states.
"It's fine, I'll just knock on the door" Rachel shrugs.
"I really can't let you just walk in like that" Emma sighs. She's getting really annoyed now that no one seems to be listening to her.
"Santana knows me well enough so she'll be ok with me just knocking and going inside. She's probably expecting me to swing by at some point anyway" Rachel assures Emma. She used to come and go a lot when Santana was working on her wedding so she's confident it'll be ok.
"Fine, but if my boss is pissed at me for letting you walk in there then I'm blaming you" Emma points out. "Also, if she fires me then it's all your fault so I hope you feel good about putting my job in danger" she adds.
"It'll be fine" Rachel says while rolling her eyes. She then quickly knocks on the office door and opens it. However as soon as Rachel opens the office door, her heart sinks. The last thing she expected to see was her ex making out with Santana on her office table.
"Oh my god, Rachel?" Brittany says shocked as she notices Rachel standing there looking at her and Santana.
"You're with her?" Rachel asks, heartbroken that the girl she is really trying to get over is now with someone else. They're not just anyone though, they're someone Rachel thought she could trust and actually thought she could call a friend.
"I really wanted to tell you but I didn't want to hurt you even more when we broke up" Brittany says while quickly moving away from Santana.
"Wait a second…have you been cheating on me this whole time with her. Were you together when she was planning our wedding?" Rachel asks. This day just seems to be getting worse and worse for her.
"Rachel, it wasn't like that" Santana says while buttoning the top couple of buttons on her shirt that Brittany had undone. "We never meant for you to find out like this either" she adds while sliding off the desk.
"I don't want to see either of you two right now" Rachel replies hurt. Seeing them making out like that is more than enough for today, she doesn't have the energy to confront them.
"We want to explain though" Brittany states.
"You two are so going to regret this because you have no idea what's coming" Rachel states angrily before leaving and slamming the door behind her.
"What exactly does she mean by that?" Santana asks.
"I have no idea but no doubt her brother will be involved" Brittany sighs. "Whatever happens though, I'm not going to let anything come between us" she adds.
"Ok" Santana nods.
"You're my girlfriend now so no one is going to ruin what we have" Brittany states confidently. She's going to do everything she can to protect her relationship with Santana because she's never felt this way about anyone before.
