Chapter 9

The sunlight streamed in through the window, and brushed my face, causing me to groan and burrow underneath my pillow. I was on the verge of falling asleep again when I realized I had to go to the bathroom. Groaning, but knowing I wouldn't be able to ignore the urge, I rolled out of bed and stumbled into the restroom. After I was done, I stretched and looked over myself in the mirror, realizing vaguely that I forgot to wear pajamas to bed last night. Again.

I sigh and scratch my head, knowing that I was forgetting something very important that I had to do. I blink and look up at the mirror suddenly, remembering that I was leaving today.

'Oh yeah! Wow. How could I forget that?' I inwardly scold myself. I strip out of my underwear and wrap a white towel around myself, walking back into my room. I sweep up my clothes from the floor and head out towards the washing machine. I throw my only outfit inside and set it to wash. I yawn and walk past a still-sleeping Goku and back into the bathroom. I turn on the shower and patiently wait for the water to warm up before I enter. I stood there under the faucet, slowly rotating, for maybe 10 minutes when I decided to start washing my hair. I was massaging the shampoo in my hair when I hear the door open.

Immediately, I freeze up and stare at the shower curtain in shock. 'Who the hell came in while I'm showering?' I wonder in alarm. The sound of the toilet flushing knocked me out of my awkward pause, and I instinctively shrieked and leaped back when the water cooled drastically.

"What the hell!?" I yell instinctively, carefully avoiding the now-freezing water with a shiver. I angrily grip the curtain and pull it away, peeking my head out to glare at the other occupant in the room.

Which turned out to be Goku. Of course.

"Dammit Goku, why are you in here? Don't you know I'm taking a shower?" I shriek, blushing slightly as I take him in visually. His hair was in it's normal bed-head fashion, no surprise there, but his training gear was slightly lacking. He only wore his wrinkled orange pants, and no shirt, revealing his toned upper torso. My blush increased as I realized just how fit he was.

'Hot damn, those abs..' I can't help but gulp and vainly try to will my blush away. I look up into dark, sheepish eyes.

"Eh, heh heh, sorry Melon, I couldn't hold it." He says, scratching his head in a guilty fashion. I huff and retreat back into the shower stall, cautiously wading into the luke-warm water.

"Whatever." I fondly roll my eyes and rinse out my hair. Not even 30 seconds later, I hear the sink flip on, and the shower head turned freezing again.

"AH! GOKU!" I shout angrily, leaping out of the spray and shivering. I throw the curtain aside, keeping the end to cover my intimate parts. I glared angrily at Goku, who was leaning over the sink with a toothbrush in his mouth, staring at me in innocent shock.

"WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE!?" I shout, causing him to blink.

"I'm.. er. Brushing my teeth.." Goku said, gesturing to his toothbrush. Angrily, I pick up the bar of soap and aim at him angrily.
"DO IT LATER WHEN I'M NOT TAKING A SHOWER!" I yell, chucking the bar at his head. He ducked in time and then nodded, turning off the sink and leaving the bathroom swiftly. I exhale heatedly, pulling the curtain closed again and running a hand through my hair.

"God, you'd think he would know not to do this anymore.." I pout and awkwardly twist around the stream of still-cold water and snatched the conditioner. I squirted a small dot into my palm and rubbed my palms together, afterwards spreading the concoction through my hair. I huffed quietly before washing out the soap, stepping out of the shower afterwards and wrapping myself in a towel. I brushed my teeth and then left the bathroom, walking out into the living room and shouting to whoever was in the kitchen.

"Bathroom's free!" I announce, before I walk into the kitchen and snatched an apple. I took a huge bite and left out the back door, nodding to Sensei as I left. Once I stepped outside, I take a casual bite as I scour the yard for a brick. Finding a decent sized one, I walk further from the house and get into throwing position. I charged my ki and concentrated the energy into the rock. Deftly, I throw the rock as hard as I can, causing it to sail out of sight at breakneck speed. I straightened from my throwing position and spun around, tossing my apple core into the bushes near the house. I sigh, running a hand through my hair as I waited for the brick to come flying back.

I didn't have to wait long before the brick appeared on the horizon, flying towards me at a dangerously fast rate. I smirk and shift my feet farther apart, facing the brick square on. I tilted my head down a bit, letting the brick easily sail over my head and continue on it's orbit around the planet. A strong wind followed after the rock and blew threw my hair, tossing it up and around until it died down. I straightened and triumphantly ran my fingers through my now nearly-dry hair. I playfully blew a chunk of hair up and out of my eyes, smirking as I anticipated the return of the brick. While I waited, I sifted my fingers through my tangled and wind-blown hair in amusement.

Seeing as King Kai doesn't own a hair dryer, I had to improvise and create my own system. Pretty nifty, I think. I thought smirking triumphantly.

I searched the horizon, and once again caught sight of the brick, heading back towards me. I lifted my arm up towards it, my fist glowing a dull white, as I prepared to blow it out of the sky- only to be distracted by a careless Goku.

" Hey, Melon!" Goku shouted, running out of the house and stopping in the flight path of the brick. He stopped and stared at me with a silly yet relieved grin on his face, totally unknowing of the objectile behind him.

"GOKU DUCK!" I shriek, throwing my arm out and releasing my energy at his head. Goku squeaked in surprise and dropped to the floor, letting my ball swiftly collide with the brick over his head. A small explosion sounded, followed by the splatter of debris. Most of the small pebbles and dust dropped onto Goku, who had his arm over his eyes.

When it sunk in that I knocked it down, I relaxed; letting out a breath of relief as I stood up and walked towards Goku. "Geez pay attention to your surroundings, goofball!" I tease, grinning and holding out a hand. Goku sheepishly laughed, clasping my hand and letting me pull him up.

"Nice shot." Goku said, wiping dust off his clothes. I step back and smirk, putting a hand on my hip and holding my towel shut with my other.

"Thanks. Now why did you come outside? You know I always do this after I shower. Didn't you learn your lesson last time when that brick knocked you in the face?" I question, slightly teasing as I bring up the last time he was out here with me. Goku straightened up and looked at me, a slight blush on his face.

"Meloon stop bringing it up! It's not my fault! Nobody told me you were outside chucking bricks." Goku crossed his arms and pouted, turning away from me stubbornly. I laughed at his reaction which caused his lips to slightly twitch into a hint of a smile.

"I thought it was obvious, or at least King Kai would of told you." Goku turns towards me and grins. "Anyways, so why did you come out here?" I question. Goku's smile dimmed and he sighed seriously.

"I thought you left already.." Goku said, staring at me sadly, which caused me to blink in surprise.

"What? Without saying goodbye?" I asked, staring at him in astonishment. He nodded solemnly, causing me to frown. 'I never realized..' I trail off and shook my head, going forward and pulling him into a hug. One arm was around his neck, pulling him down to my level, and my other was still holding my towel closed. 'Don't want to accidentally flash him again.'

Goku temporarily stiffened in surprise, before melting into the hug, using both his hands to hug me back.

"Goku, I wouldn't leave without saying goodbye. It's not my style." I inform him, slightly nuzzling into his neck. "I'm sorry I gave you that impression." I murmured quietly.

"I'm sorry for assuming.." I squeezed Goku tighter before releasing him, holding his shoulder and smiling reassuringly.

"It's fine. Now, do you know if the laundry is done yet?" I asked, tilting my head and smiling. Goku smiled back and nodded, releasing me and walking both of us to the house. A flicker of movement from the curtains caused me to glance over, but I only saw the closed fabric. Shrugging, I enter the house and head towards the laundry area.

I stood outside in the grass, facing both Goku and King Kai. My once-tattered tank top and pants now looked like they are new, thanks to King Kai's fancy-clothes trick. The only difference is that now, on the back of my tank top is the symbol of King Kai, showing that I am his student. In my hands is a small bag filled with food that should last me a few months. I grinned at Goku and hugged him with both arms, smiling as he immediately responded back.

"Urg, I'm sure gonna miss you, Melon!" Goku said, lifting me off the ground and spinning me once. I automatically laughed, pulling back and grinning at him.

"Aw, I'll miss you too! But don't worry, we'll see each other at the battle!" I say, matching Goku's smile. Goku set me down and I stepped back, turning towards King Kai who was watching us with an amused smile. I shrink down a bit and open my arms widely, looking like I was trying to corner him.
"Permission to hug, Sensei?" I asked cheekily, grinning at King Kai sarcastically. King Kai laughed and nodded, opening his arms and enveloping me in a hug. I squeezed him lightly, smiling sadly as I knew I wouldn't see him anytime soon. King Kai rubbed my back lightly then slowly pulled away, smiling at me sadly.

"Alright, so you need to talk to Kami of Earth, right? Put your hand on my back, and reach him with your mind." King Kai said, turning and offering me his shoulder. I nodded and gently placed my hand on his back, closing my eyes and concentrating on the old man I met once before.

'Kami-sama? Can you hear me..?' I paused for a moment, before a sarcastic smirk lit my face at the silence. 'Kssch- Commander Kami, do you read me? Over- kssch!' I giggled childishly, but jumped when King Kai lightly slapped my leg.

"Knock it off, and focus." He grumbled, amusement hidden in his tone. I giggled before exhaling, calming myself down. I focused once more, but jumped in surprise when I felt my body go slightly numb. My fist clenched and my eyebrows furrowed, but I refused to open my eyes, focusing intensely on the strange feeling and on Kami.

'Kami? ...Kamii~? Kami-sama, you there?' I asked again. I jolted in shock when I heard an old voice respond back.

'Hello? Who is this, why are you in my mind?'

'Oh! Hello! Pardon the intrusion, this is Melon. Err, the girl you met when you dropped Goku off?'

'Oh! I remember you! Still alive, I see.'

I snorted quietly and shook my head in amusement. 'Yes, still alive, and a lot stronger, too. Anyways, I need you to do me a favor..' I paused, before taking a breath and continuing. 'I'm going on a trip back to Earth, but I need your help to get me there. I can travel Snake way just fine, I'll just have a problem when I reach King Yemma's Courtroom.'

'It's proper name is actually Judgment Hall.'

'Yes yes, doesn't matter. Question is, do you think you can help me get from Judgment hall to Earth when I arrive?' Kami didn't immediately respond, which made me tense in the silence that followed. I waited for what seemed like eternity before Kami responded.

'Sure, I'll help you get back.' I immediately made a triumphant noise and fist pumped with my free fist, a silly grin on my face.

'Yes! Thank you so much! I'll see you in a few weeks!'

'Okay, see you soon, Melon.' Kami's presence left my mind, but I didn't ponder how he managed to leave. I was preoccupied with hollering in triumph as I released King Kai and did a jumping fist-pump.

"Yes! I got a ride back to earth!" I shouted giddily, landing on my feet and grinning at Goku and Sensei. King Kai chuckled and flicked his antennae back. I confidently strolled up to my bag of food and picked it up, slinging the single strap over my shoulder.

"Well, I guess that means it's time for me to go." I pivoted on my heel and smiled at the two men, who instantly sobered up a bit.

"Well, Melon, it was a pleasure to teach you, and cook with you. I hope we will meet again someday."

I smiled sadly and hugged him again, causing him to let out a breathless chuckle.

"We will meet again, I promise you that." I whispered in his ear, kissing his cheek and stepping back. King Kai shifted his weight, rubbing his cheek with an embarrassed blush on his cheeks. I immediately switched my attention to Goku. I pointed at him, poking him slightly in the chest.

"And you!"

"Me?" Goku asked, an amused grin on his lips.

"Train hard." I smirked and turned around, walking a few feet away and squatting. I looked back at the two and winked cheekily.

"Stay awesome- and don't be late!" I directed the two of them, before launching myself into the air and leaving a trail of dust in my wake.

"BYYEEEEE!" Goku shouted behind me. I smirked and yelled 'See yaa!' back before I completely left. I emerged above the planet, leaving me surrounded by golden clouds in all directions. I flew around a bit, easily catching sight of Snake way, and I started to fly down the path. I thrust my energy into my flight and flew down the curving path, leaving a sonic boom in my wake. I closed my eyes and laughed, rolling mid flight. I opened my eyes and stretched my arms up.

"Ahh, I can't wait to get to Yemma's courthouse!" I squealed in happiness.

~Time skip~

It's been who knows how long since I left King Kai's place, and I'm still flying to Judgement hall. I've made a few pit stops along the way to eat food, so nothing really interesting happened. I huffed irately, frowning down at the path zigzagging underneath me. The wind still whistled in my ears, and my empty food bag was tucked safely under my arm and out of direct contact with the wind.

"I'm swimming around in a vagin- Oh! Look, it's Yemma's courthouse!" I cut myself off and grinned, seeing a small assortment of purple rooftops in the distance. "YES! I'M ALMOST THERE!" I squeal to myself, forcing my tired body to release more energy, giving me a boost and making me fly faster.

After flying for 20 minutes, I arrived at my destination. I grinned and waved at the swirly white souls waiting in line as I flew over their heads. I lowered myself to the floor, slowing my descent a tiny bit, before cutting myself off completely- which caused me to fall and roll instead of land in a run like I wanted.

"Oof!" I winced as my world spun before leaving me dizzy on stone-cold floors. I groaned, slowly sitting up and rubbing my head as I tried to regain my sight. "That hurt. Oww." I run my fingers through my hair lightly to check for any injuries, before dropping my hand in satisfaction. "Well, nothing is broken. So that's a plus." I murmur to myself, pushing my body up onto my feet and dusting off my pants casually. I lift my head and look around the open hallway I landed in. I tilted my head before turning and spying a tiny blue man standing by a pillar, watching me cautiously. I blink before smiling a goku-like smile, rushing over to him.

"Hey! Excuse me, but do you know where King Yemma's court is?" I ask, shifting foot to foot in excitement.

"King Yemma's …court? I've never heard of that, but King Yemma's office is over there.." He said, pointing behind me. I glanced behind me before turning back, smiling and shaking his hand.

"Thank you!" I pivot and run down the hallway, keeping a steady pace as I ran. I jogged down the hallway before sliding to a stop by a giant brown desk. I looked up at King Yemma and waved.

"Hi! Guess who's back?" I giggle before blinking as King Yemma turned to me and glared. I immediately fell silent and stiffened, gulping at his look.

"If you don't mind, I'm a little busy at the moment, so go sit somewhere and shut up." He barked, frowning heavily. I swiftly nod and salute, awkwardly laughing as I go to a corner far away from Yemma and sit down. I sigh and run my hands through my hair again, leaning against the wall and blowing a strand of hair away. I quietly wait, watching disinterestedly as soul after soul entered the room then left. I reach into my bag and pull out the last piece of food- a small fruit. Twisting the strangely shaped, purple peach in my hand, I take a large bite. I shrug at the flavor- a strange mix of strawberry and pineapple- then toss it up in the air, leaving my hand out to catch it. When I didn't feel it in my hand nor hear a splat on the floor, I looked up in confusion, only to jump when I noticed a green man standing there.

"Cheez-its! Don't do that!" I whine, holding my heart and exhaling once. I look up at an amused Kami, who was holding my fruit casually.

"Hello again."

"Yeah, yeah, hi." I grumble, standing up and trying to wake my numbed legs. I looked at Kami and hold my hand out.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked, smiling at me.

"When I get my peach back.." I groan, moving my hand as if to say "hand it over". Kami chuckled before lightly tossing the fruit back to me, which I barely managed to catch. Blushing, I cough and look away, trying to play off my fumble.

"I meant to do that, ya know." I state, which made him laugh loudly and roll his eyes. I huff, holding back a smile.

"Well, you ready to go?" I asked, tilting my head and smiling.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" He questioned lightly, holding out his arm.

"You already did." I smirk and hook my arm with his, gasping when the world shimmered in front of us and a sudden weightlessness overcame my body. A stray thought went through my mind, informing me that I dropped the peach. When my feet hit cement again, I groaned and sank weakly to the ground, holding my head in slight pain.

"Oooh, that wasn't fun." I groan, closing my eyes and trying to soothe my pulsing headache and sudden nausea.

"Ah, sorry about that. Forgot that it makes first-time travelers a bit squeamish.." Kami said nonchalantly. I squint my eyes open and glare at the doubled Namekian.

"Could'a used a warning." I grumble, quickly shutting my eyes again.

"Don't worry, you will be fine in a few moments." True to his word, the vertigo I felt slowly lifted from my body, causing me to breathe easier. I blinked as I stared at the cement, slowly forcing my head up and letting me look around the lookout in curiousity.

"Oh." I said, blinking as I stood easily, looking around me in curiosity. I swiftly observe the palm trees planted in the dirt squares, and the small building a few feet away. My eyes stray towards the edge of the lookout, leaving me only looking at the light blue sky. "..Nice place." I compliment, turning eventually until I was face to face with Kami again.

"Thank you." I blink and tilt my body, looking behind Kami and spying a dark figure sitting on a carpet, feeding birds. I blink then smile, waving happily at him. 'Hey! It's Mr. Popo!'

"Hello!" The black man looked up at me, then smiled, waving slowly back.

"Hello!" I grinned then straightened, looking back at Kami.

"So, thanks for the ride, first of all." He inclined his head slightly, so I continued on, "Second, do you think you can point me in the direction of Piccolo and Gohan?" I asked tilting my head slightly. Kami blinked in surprise, frowning lightly when he answered me.

"How do you know Piccolo?"

"Oh, let's just say that we've met before. Keep it simple." I said, smiling cheekily.

"I'd advise you to not seek him out. Piccolo is a very dangerous character."

"Psh. Like I don't know that already. Come on, tell me where he is! I already promised him and Gohan that I'd meet up with them soon." I say, crossing my arms and shifting my weight to one leg. Kami studied me for a moment before sighing in defeat.

"Alright. Piccolo is near Yunzabit Heights, just a few hundred miles west. Basically travel north until you reach a giant lake, then fly west from there. You'll know your there when you see the mountains filled with trees."

"Alright, so north until lake, west until forest, right?" At his nod, I grin and bob my head excitedly. "Okay! I gots dis!" I say to myself, turning and walking towards the edge. When Kami's voice yelled out, however, I paused and looked at him, a curious look on my face. "Wait Melon!"

"Yess?" I asked.

"You're still alive, correct?"

"Duh." I said, pointing to my halo-less head.

"When was the last time you've eaten?"

"You just saw me eat that peach not even a few minutes ago." I said giving him a dead stare.

"Something more than a peach. When was the last time you had a full meal?" He asked, frowning down at me as I laughed nervously and rubbed my head.

"I-I don't really know.. Maybe a week or two?" I asked, more to myself than anything. He gave me a disapproving look, before turning and walking away, his robes swishing by his feet.

"Come." He commanded, his voice low and gravelly. I sighed, debating on whether to ditch him or not. 'Meh, I have time, right? I'm sure this won't take long and I'll be on my way soon.' I shrug and catch up, jogging a bit across the floor until I was neck-and-neck with Kami.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, eyeing him with curiosity. He looked at me in his peripheral and smiled slightly.

"First off, you're going to the shower area and taking a bath. No offense, but you look like you could use a decent bath." I blushed and tried to subtly sniff my shirt, only to frown in disgust and nod in agreement.
"I guess your right about that one.." Kami smiled and turned before we entered the compound to shout to Mr. Popo.

"Mr. Popo!" Mr. Popo immediately turned and calmly stood, jogging over to us. When he arrived, he had a confused, yet respectful smile on his face.

"What is it, Kami-sama?"

"Ms. Melon here hasn't had a decent meal in months, would you like to make her something to eat before her journey to find Gohan and Piccolo."

"Sure, Kami-sama. Ms. Melon, did you have anything you'd prefer?" I blushed and nervously laughed.

"Ah, I don't really have a preference, as long as you make a lot of food. I kind of have the appetite of Goku right about now.." I said, smiling sheepishly. Mr. Popo smiled at me before nodding and turning into the compound. I swiftly realized that he thought I was joking, so I quickly shouted out-

"I mean it, you've got a hungry saiyan on your hands!" I giggle when Popo abruptly stops in his tracks and faces me with wide eyes. I grin and wink cheekily, unwrapping my tail and using it to wave at him playfully.

I chuckle then turned to Kami, who was looking at me with wide eyes. I looked up at him and smirked, wrapping my tail around my waist again with pride.

"What?"

"You're a saiyan?" Kami asks in shock. I nod and look ahead, grinning.

"Yup. I didn't know until I popped up at King Kai's place, though." Kami nods, then looks forward, silently processing the information I provided him. The rest of the walk to Kami's bathing room was silent, which I didn't mind. Kami swiftly showed me how to use the showers and where his laundry machine was before he left. I waited until he was gone and the door was shut before I stripped and tossed my clothes into the machine. I happily grinned and eased myself into the tub with a sigh of relief. My muscles relaxed and the water soothed my skin.

I stayed in the tub, washing myself off and generally relaxing, until the dryer went off half an hour later. I got out of the tub and dried myself off, and after slipping on my clean clothes, I went out and headed to Kami's dining room. Since I didn't know where I was going, I decided to use my nose and my senses to find Kami's aura. Eventually, I stopped in front of a dark wood door.

I knocked before walking in, and surprisingly there was a bunch of food already scattered among the low table. I blinked, my mouth opening up in shock.

"Woah..That's a lotta' food.." I look over at Kami, who had a proud smirk on his face. He was watching me with amusement.

"Mr. Popo and I prepared this and set it up for whenever you decided to show up. Sit down, eat up. You're going to need you strength." I nod mutely and sit down in front of an empty plate.

I gazed around the table in surprise before I decided that waiting would be rude. I looked down at my plate and noticed- much to my horror- that a pair of chopsticks rested beside my rice bowl. I pick up chopsticks and I frowned in confusion. I lightly tapped the sticks on the table, gently breaking apart the utensil. I fumbled a bit as I tried to hold the chopsticks right- even though I never knew what was considered a 'right way' to hold chopsticks.

I guess I looked pretty pathetic because I heard Kami clear his throat. I looked up and pouted once I saw the amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Do you need help, Melon?" Kami asked. I frowned then nodded.

"Er.. yeah." Kami sat next to me and took my chopsticks from my fingers.

"You hold them like this, like you're holding a writing utensil." Kami said, demonstrating with his hands. I watched with a defeated pout on my face.

"King Kai didn't use chopsticks.." I mumbled sullenly, taking hold of the pro-offered chopsticks and awkwardly holding them. Kami tilted the top chopstick a bit before nodding in satisfaction. He reached across the table and got another set of chopsticks, easily breaking them apart with a casual air. He held the chopsticks correctly, then picked up a bowl of rice.
"Now you scoop them up like this.." He demonstrated by connecting the tips together and dipping them in the rice, scooping them up and showing a sizeable scoop. "And then you eat it." He said, plopping the rice in his mouth to prove his point. "Now you try." He said, setting the bowl down and looking at me expectantly.

I sighed before turning towards the bowl and picking it up, connecting my chopsticks crookedly and scooping them into the rice. My catch would have been big except that most of it fell off the stick, leaving me with a thumbnail's width of rice. I groan at the loss of rice before trying again to scoop more onto my two sticks. It came out a bit bigger this time, yet a lot still fell off. I shrugged before putting it in my mouth. Chewing the rice and swallowing, I lean back and sigh in distraught.

"This is going to take awhile." I grumble, frowning as my stomach let a small gurgle of agreement. Kami chuckled at me, causing me to purse my lips in annoyance.

"Practice makes perfect, Melon." I release a sigh but still nodded in agreement, reaching forward with my chopsticks and snatching up a bulb of orange chicken. I sighed in relief and swiftly worked on eating everything on the table besides the rice.

'Stupid rice isn't worth it.' I mentally grumble, reaching out and retrieving a broccoli tree. I paused though when suddenly the entire room grew dark. I swiftly sat back, gently nibbling on the miniature tree as I looked around the room cautiously.

"What's going on?" I asked warily.

"Someone is using the dragon balls." Kami stated, looking out the windows with a frown. I followed his gaze and I felt my eyes widen when I realized the sky outside was dark, gloomy, and stormy. My eyes widened even more, however, when I realized what they were being used for.

"Goku.." I whispered, turning and looking at the table-as if to see the man himself. Kami bobbed his head, but jumped and looked at me in concern when I stood up abruptly.

"The Saiyans are almost here." I stated, swiftly backing away from the table and heading towards the door.
"Wait, where are you going?" Kami asked worriedly, standing up and slowly hobbling after me.

"I need to get to Piccolo and Gohan as soon as possible! I refuse to let myself be booted out of this fight just because I got lost and was late!" I said, stepping out of the palace and into the open courtyard.

"But Melon-"

"Thank you for all you're help, Kami, I owe you one! Tell Popo that I loved his food, alright?" I shout back, ignoring him and diving off the edge of the platform.

"Be careful!" Kami shouted down at me, a worried frown placed on his lips. I focused my energy and flew up in the sky, smiling back at Kami.

"Don't worry, I will!" I shout back, turning and shooting north. I flew for a while, dodging stray lightening bolts and chastising myself as I flew as fast as possible.

"I can't believe it! How could so much time have passed?" I question scowling. I flew straight for a few moments, then the dark, ominous clouds dispersed, leaving a clear, blue sky in it's wake. I rolled onto my back and stared upwards, observing the sky curiously.

"Geez, that's a creepy side affect." I murmur, stretching and laying my arms under my head. I rolled back over and lowered my arms, gazing around at the scenery that reminded me so much of my earth.

'It's still so weird actually being here..' I reflect, before something sparkling caught my eye. I winced then blinked, noticing that the shining light was actually a giant lake. "Aha! Now I go west, right?" I ask myself, stopping above the lake and changing direction. I felt myself get excited as the ground beneath me slowly turned from flat forest to cliffs and scattered trees. I grin when I pass over a giant crater already refilled with a light layer of grass.

"I wonder who made that one.." I wondered in amusement. I finally let my senses loose and located the familiar signatures of Piccolo and Gohan. Smirking, I picked up speed for a moment, not caring if they felt my presence or not. After a few moments of searching, I finally noticed two specs on the ground. Grinning wickedly, I rapidly dropped, nearly free-falling until I stopped myself just a few feet from the grass. Straightening up, I lowered my body and gently stood there, smiling happily when I caught eyes with Gohan and Piccolo.

"Hey! Long time, no see!" I said, waving slightly as I gazed at their flabbergasted looks. Gohan was the first to react- with a gigantic grin and a leap of happiness. I caught the hyper boy in my arms and laughed with him, spinning around once before setting him down.

"Melon! You're here, you're actually here!" Gohan squealed.

"Of course I am, I promised, didn't I? I wouldn't miss a fight like this for the world!" I said cheekily. Me and Gohan shared a giggle, before I turned and looked up at Piccolo, who was watching us with his arms crossed.

"So, you actually made it."

"Oh, don't be such a tart. Of course I did!" I stated happily. Piccolo raised an eyebrow to my tart comment, but he didn't say anything about it. After a moment of silence, I rolled my eyes and sighed in mock disappointment. "What, aren't you happy to see me too?" I asked, putting my hand on my hip.

Piccolo released a sigh of his own before he walked forward and clasped my shoulder firmly. He leaned his head forward a bit and glared into my eyes.

"No." He bit out. I immediately pull back and throw my hands up in the air in exasperation.

"What!? You aren't happy to see me!? Awh, I'm totally insulted!" I whined, turning and pouting at a giggling Gohan. "He's such a jerk!" I playfully whine, winking secretly to Gohan who laughed some more.

"Melon, stop the melodramatics. Tell me honestly, are you prepared?" I straightened up and caught eyes with Piccolo.

"..Yes." I said firmly, not showing any weakness of any sort. Piccolo searched my eyes for a moment before he released a confident smirk.

"Well glad to know. Me and Gohan are going to spar until the very last minute. Am I correct in assuming you will be joining us?" Piccolo asked knowingly. I smirked in reply and nodded.

"You bet your ass I'll stay. Besides I have no where else to go." I said calmly, shrugging in nonchalant. Piccolo smirked then slid into a fighting stance.

"Good. Then let's see how well you've 'improved'." Piccolo taunted. I immediately smirked and slid into a stance myself.

"Bring it on, Mr. Pickle!" I teased, grinning at my own joke.

A/N: Did you see what I did thar? :D Melo-dramatic Melon? (Melondramatic! *cracks up*) And with the pickle joke too? (Cause Piccolo doesn't have the D! XD) Yup, I think that- until something changes in my life, then it might just be best to assume that I'll update again in a month. Ehh, maybe sooner. I really don't know. *winces* sorry..

But yeah, you know how I said Vegeta was going to be in the next chappie?

I lied.

Well, sorta.

He's gonna be in the next chapter FO SHUR! –but then again so is Nappa.. I almost forgot about Nappa..
