Chapter 14
"5000!? Thats impossible, it has to be a mistake!" Nappa immediately yelled in denial. Vegeta was silent above me, a frown marring his features. I couldn't help but let out a breathless chuckle.
"Oh, You do realize that 5000 is his base level, right?" I stated with a grin. Vegeta looked down at me with a scowl and I heard Piccolo chuckle as well.
"Well look at that, I believe your partner is actually worried." Piccolo said mockingly towards Nappa. I watched as Vegeta suddenly tensed up, which made my smirk drop.
"NAPPA! Kill them all!" Vegeta ordered, much to my horror. "Their help could actually make defeating Kakarrot difficult, but maybe seeing their corpses will shake him up!" He finished with a confident smirk.
"What?!" Piccolo shouted in anger. I didn't even need to see the pleased grin I knew was on Nappa's face.
"But, what about the dragon balls?" Nappa asked in confusion.
"Never mind that! We don't need them!" Vegeta said, before a large grin appeared on his face. " I never believed in the Namekian power spheres, but if Kakarrot is back from the dead then it's true. That means there must be more balls on this fool's home planet. A little rampage through Namek would be a nice way to cool down after the destruction of earth, hmm?" Vegeta asked with a grin.
"I still say your machine's broken. Kakarrot can't be over 5000... But its a good enough excuse to start killing." Nappa said, a sadistic chuckle coming out of his mouth. I felt myself pale considerably, not that Vegeta was looking my way, but I suddenly felt my survival instincts kick in when I heard Gohan start to speak.
"Piccolo! You've got to run! I'll hold them off somehow!"
"Oh hell no." I growled lowly. Vegeta looked down at me, but it was too late. I had already grabbed his foot and twisted it as hard and as fast as I could, causing him to wince and leap away from me. I immediately flipped up and ran towards Nappa, who was slowly turning around in confusion towards Vegeta.
The surprise on his face when he saw it was me charging him with a glowing fist made me grin in sadistic excitement. I threw a punch at his face and hit him hard on the nose, the power causing him to go flying back. I kicked off from the floor and followed after him, already charging up another attack. Nappa looked up at me with an evil glint in his eye, lifting up an arm to block my right hook and grab my hand. I smirked and merely opened my fist, releasing all of my pent up ki in an explosion- right in his face. He dropped my hand and we were both covered in dust, but I quickly flew up and out of the cloud. I looked around tensely, bending just enough that my broken ribs wouldn't hinder me. I lightly shook my left hand a bit, trying to rid it of the stinging pain. I suddenly tensed and looked up behind me, a bit too late to dodge the punch sent by Nappa. It hit me straight on my ribs, causing me to gasp in pain as I fell to the ground. I used my ki to flip me over and I raised my hands to stop my fall. I landed lightly, but I still put too much pressure on my wrist which caused me to inhale in pain. I quickly rolled to the left and narrowly missed Nappa's knee. I stood up as did Nappa, and we had a small stare off.
"I can't wait to kill you." He said with a grin.
"Ditto." I said. I immediately lifted both my hands together and shot a large green ki ball at him. He dodged and I used that moment to chase after him again, hitting and kicking wherever I could. Sadly, he grabbed my ankle during one of my kicks and twisted it down, a sadistic grin on his face. I screamed and my other leg under me dropped. I didn't even get the chance to retaliate. He gripped my broken ankle painfully tight and spun me around, using the momentum to fling me away. I landed with a grunt and rolled a bit before coming to a stop face down. I groaned and weakly sat up, coughing a bit and feeling every bone in my body ache painfully. I heard a young voice scream my name and I immediately looked up to see Gohan charging Nappa. He leaped up into the air and kicked him angrily, sending Nappa flying away into a rock formation. I blinked in shock before it quickly eased into tired pride. I sat and watched as Gohan immediately turned to me and start running in my direction. He suddenly slowed down and his face hardened from worry to cold determination. I tilted my head in confusion for just a second before I realized why he would act like that. I was a bit too slow, because a big hand landed on my head and painfully gripped my hair, forcefully pulling me up into a standing position. I whimpered painfully and exhaled sharply through my teeth, my hands immediately going to the hand and trying to dislodge its hold on me. When I was fully standing, Vegeta tilted my head back, causing me to bare my neck. I felt tears prick my eyes at the pain, and I looked to my left with an angry glare, making eye contact with a stoic Vegeta.
"Let go of me, you bastard."
"You, my dear, are becoming quite a trouble maker." He said, leaning over my shoulder slightly and letting his lips hover over the junction between my neck and shoulder. I instinctually growled in anger and tried moving away, only to wince as his grip on my hair tightened.
"And you, my friend, are quite the overbearing bitch. Let go of me!" I yelled angrily, trying to elbow him with one arm. I hit him, but I got nothing out of him except a silent grunt. I growled in frustration and tried hitting him again, but this time he caught my elbow with his free hand.
"Stop being such a pest." He said, a bit of annoyance coloring his tone.
"Stop being such a pompous brat." I spat back. Vegeta let out a sigh and released my elbow. Before I could do anything with it, he shoved my head forward and put his fingers on my neck.
"Why don't you take a nap?" He said, before he pinched my nerves. I shakily inhaled before falling into darkness.
'Oh shit.' I thought in worry. Even though I was laying in black limbo, I could still hear things trickling through my ears, not that it made sense.
"Now I've had enough.."
A loud explosion..
"Why did you save me!?"
Soft whispers and someone crying..
"Don't die piccolo!" 'That sounded like Gohan... What's happening..?'
Then I felt someone powering up rapidly, which made me twitch slightly.
'Gohan?'
"DEMON FLASH!"
... utter silence..
Another explosion, only this one was smaller.
"Nice shot.. shrimp... stung a little.."
"His power dropped down.." That one was the loudest, and I guessed it was Vegeta. His words made me worried, yet I couldn't for the life of me wake up.
'No no, Gohan. Gohan is in trouble, I got to get up! Wake up!'
I somehow managed to open my eyes, but only a quarter of the way. Everything was fuzzy and my dark hair was spilled over my face, hiding everything in a dark veil. I saw two long legs standing in front of me, and a large mass move towards a smaller one in the distance. My fuzzy brain started to yell at me, telling me to get up and over there. 'But why..? Who is over there?'
"Haha! I can't wait for Kakarrot to see his son squashed like a bug!" The Big figure lifted it's foot, and then it all snapped into place. Nappa was the figure. Nappa was going to kill Gohan.
'No. No!' I started screaming, but my mouth wouldn't move. My whole body wouldn't move, making me panic more. "Gohan run! Run, please!' I watched helplessly, tears blurring my vision and falling down my cheeks. I closed my eyes before Nappa's foot lowered, and then suddenly I felt my environment shift around me. Instead of warm dirt on my face, I felt wind and cold air encompassing me, accompanied by a pair of warm arms holding me securely to a chest. My breathing hitched in surprise and I tried to open my eyes again, but all I could see was an immensely blurry shape hidden by the sun and my tears.
"What?!" I heard someone far down below shout out. I ignored them and kept my gaze on the familiar shape, trying so hard to figure out who it was.
"wh-who.." I croaked out quietly, my voice buried under confusion and tears. The figure glanced down at me and I could see a small, really familiar smirk.
"Hey Melon. Long time no see." He said. At Goku's voice, I immediately relaxed completely, slumping even more into his hold with a relieved smile on my face.
"Goku." I said happily, sniffling slightly as another tear dropped on my face. My smile dropped when I remembered what happened not even seconds earlier, and I felt myself become more tearful. "Goku. I-I'm sorry.. Gohan-" I choked out, but Goku cut me off, his face stoic again.
"He's okay. I got here just in time." I bobbed my head in relief and exhaled, but suddenly Goku dropped from the sky, causing me to suck air in painfully fast. We landed softly on the ground, and I glared up at Goku. Goku glanced at me and raised an eyebrow, silently questioning my reaction, but I just rolled my eyes.
"I can't move, idiot. I don't like almost free-falling when I can't control my own fall." I grumbled in annoyance. Goku gave a small smile before looking up to Nappa with a stoic look. I looked past Nappa and saw Gohan safe, floating on a small yellow cloud.
"Goku..we've waited so long.." I heard Krillin mutter from a small distance away.
"D-daddy..!" Gohan muttered tearfully, beaming towards us in happiness.
"What do you think you're doing here, Kakarrot?" Vegeta asked, causing me to blink and turn my head in his direction. I made eye contact with the interested Vegeta and gave him an annoyed look. "Not here to make some ridiculous speech about 'defeating us' I hope?" He asked cockily. I rolled my eyes and turned my head away, feeling Goku start moving towards Nappa. I calmly watched as Nappa perked up and gave Goku a cocky smirk, before moving into a fighting position.
Nappa opened his mouth, probably to egg him on, but suddenly Goku was next to Piccolo which made me blink in surprise. I looked down at Piccolo and frowned sadly when I realized I missed his death. Goku kneeled down and put his two fingers to his neck, before solemnly standing up, gently adjusting me in his hold.
"Piccolo.." He said sadly.
"He died trying to save me.." Gohan muttered, the yellow cloud slowly flying closer and hovering next to us. Goku stoically straightened and gazed around the battlefield, his hold slightly tightening on me.
"Tenshienhan... Yamcha..." Since I was close enough, I could actually see his jaw tighten in anger.
Suddenly Nappa snorted behind us. "Don't tell me your surprised to see all your friends dead! Come to think of it, there was another one.. All blown to pieces.. Ah well, no need to grieve! You'll see them all soon enough! And right after you came back to life too!" Nappa teased arrogantly. Goku, miraculously, kept his outer appearance calm and stoic, but I could feel his hands twitch slightly in anger.
"Chaozu too, huh? And Kami-sama.." Suddenly, Goku pivoted on his heel, facing Nappa. Nappa grinned again and got into another stance.
"Eh? Is that it? Ready to die again? Well, here's my way of saying hello!" Nappa said, throwing a punch, not that it hit us. Goku easily dodged again and was calmly walking forward, now heading towards Krillin.
"This way, Gohan." Goku said softly.
"Wh-what?" I heard Nappa mutter in confusion. I turned my head and smirked at Nappa, sticking my tongue out childishly. The arm that was holding my upper body up flexed, shaking me slightly and causing me to look up towards Goku with an innocent look. Goku gave me a stern look and I sighed, nodding my head to the silent request. When we reached Krillin, Goku kneeled and gently set me down, but even though I was sitting up I still hissed in pain.
"I'm sorry I'm late.. You guys did well holding out.. Here, split this between you two." Goku said, ripping a bean in half and offering it to Krillin and Gohan. I silently sat and watched as Krillin shook his head.
"A senzu bean? Master Karin still has those?"
"These are the last two, actually." Goku said, fishing another bean out for display.
"Then you should keep them, Goku." I said, casting a charming grin his way when he turned to me. "You're gonna need all the energy you can get." I explained.
"I'm fine, I already had one."
"N-No! You should save it! J-just in case! Besides, its n-not like we could be much help, even if we are better." Krillin protested weakly.
"Quit worrying! If your not gonna eat it, then I'm just gonna throw it away!" Goku threatened lightly, a small smile on his face.
"W-well in that c-case.." Krillin muttered weakly, opening his mouth for the bean. Goku put half in Krillin's mouth before moving on to Gohan, who stared reluctantly at the bean.
"You too, Gohan." Goku said. Gohan slowly opened his mouth and frowned at the taste, but continued eating it then swallowing. As Krillin and Gohan immediately felt better and inspected themselves, Goku turned to me. He kneeled down next to me and offered the bean to me, but I kept my mouth closed and shook my head.
"Melon. Eat the bean." Goku said, giving me a stern look. I in turn gave him a small smile.
"I feel fine, save it." I murmured, keeping my mouth as closed as possible. Goku frowned in concern.
"Eat the bean. You need your strength."
"Actually, I think it's you whose gonna need your strength. Not me." Goku looked me over in a worried way before making eye contact with me again. I could see the hidden rage in his eyes, but he kept it covered with worry.
"Melon, how could you say that? Aren't you in pain? You've got 4 broken ribs, for crying out loud. Not to mention your wrist and your foot."
"How'd you..?" I sighed and shook the question off. "Nevermind. Goku. Listen to me carefully. In case you haven't figured it out yet, the smaller guy is at least 5 times stronger than Nappa, and Nappa can give you a run for your money. I mean, look at me. Let my guard down for a few seconds and wham." I shook the small bout of anger off before focussing back on Goku, whose expression darkened a bit. I frowned when I realized he was pissed before I took my good arm and lightly tapped his head, knocking him out of his funk. "Oi. Focus. What I'm trying to say is, Nappa might tire you out a bit, and you're gonna want to be at full strength when you go against Vegeta."
"Are you doubting my skills, Melon?" Goku asked, tilting his head and frowning at the thought. I groaned and slapped his arm twice in frustration, not that he reacted to them.
"No, you dumbo! Geez, how about we make a deal. I'll eat that stupid bean, but only half of it. The other half I want you to use before you go against Vegeta- or you can give it to me to hold onto, just incase something bad happens. Does that sound fair?" I asked, huffing in annoyance. Goku stared hard at me silently, and I growled softly. "Goku, thats my only offer. Take it or leave it."
"..You do realize I could just force you to eat the whole bean, right?" Goku said slowly.
"Yeah, and then not only would I get really pissed at you, I would also put you in the same category as mister prince over there." I said, gesturing with my head towards Vegeta. "And I don't really like him as is. So, deal?" I asked, holding out my hand for the bean. Goku sighed in defeat before ripping the bean in half and handing both to me. "You know you can't say no to me." I teased with a smirk and popped one half in eagerly, making a slight face at the bitter flavor but swallowing none-the-less. Immediately after swallowing energy seemed to rush through my veins and I could feel all my bruises and broken bones immediately mend themselves to perfection. I grinned and stood up, hopping slightly from foot to foot before focussing on Goku and grinning.
"Oh, I almost forgot." I murmured before engulfing Goku in a bear hug, which he easily recuperated. "Welcome back to the land of the living!" I pulled out of the hug just as Gohan jumped up to give Goku his own hug. I stepped back and smiled as I watched the tearful embrace. Goku patted Gohan's head and set him down by his feet, giving Gohan a proud look.
"Gohan, you've gotten a lot stronger! You too, Krillin."
"Yeah, but we weren't strong enough. They're just.. too strong.." Krillin uttered despondently. "Piccolo died.. The dragon balls are gone, no one can be brought back to life now..." Krillin clenched his fists in anger before looking up at Goku with a determined face. "Let's avenge them! The four of us! With you here, we'll take at least one of 'em with us! You trained with Kaio, right? The Lord of Worlds?"
"Yeah... But I'll fight them alone. You three stay here so you don't get hurt." Goku said with a soft yet stern look.
"Alone?" Krillin asked in surprise, both him and Gohan giving him a shocked look. I just stared at him silently before sighing quietly and nodding in exasperation.
"I'm okay with hanging on the side-lines for a little while." I muttered under my breath. Goku looked over at me and gave me a thankful grin, while Gohan looked up at me in utter surprise.
"That's insane! Even for you! Their power is beyond imagination!" Krillin protested loudly, ignoring me completely. Goku simply looked away from Krillin and over to Nappa, baring his teeth angrily when he noticed the brute still watching us. I watched as his entire aura seemed to darken with hate, which made me shiver a bit. 'It's so weird to see Goku this mad.. I'm glad I'm not the one who pissed him off..' I thought. Krillin stiffened when he noticed how ticked Goku was, and he gently laid a hand on Gohan's shoulder, tugging the boy back a bit.
"We'd better do as he says, Gohan. Come on." Krillin said stoically.
"Wh-what?! But-"
"Now, Gohan!" I cut in, turning and giving them both a look before flying up in the air and stopping a good few feet above the group. Krillin followed after me with a reluctant Gohan following him. When they were both high enough up, we all paused to look down at the group, watching as Goku calmly walked forward.
"D-daddy.." Gohan muttered sadly.
"I've never seen him so mad before.." Krillin said softly. I crossed my arms and frowned.
"Neither have I. You guys go, get as far as you can." I commanded gently. Krillin and Gohan immediately looked up at me with a confused look, but I only raised an eyebrow in question.
"You sound like your not coming along." Krillin said with a small nervous laugh.
"Cause I'm not." I said plainly, cutting through his laughter. He opened his mouth as if to protest, but got cut off as Goku suddenly powered up, filling the air with immense pressure that had the two next to me reeling back.
"W-what!?" Gohan squeaked in shock. I turned down and watched as Goku suddenly stopped, letting whatever debris that flew up in the air fall back down. I smirked as I watched Nappa ask Vegeta for the power level.
"It's over.. nine thousand.." Vegeta said softly yet angrily, taking off his scouter and crushing it in his fists. I grinned in amusement as Nappa's eyes bulged in shock.
"Nine thousand!? It's a mistake! It's got to be broken!" He shouted, looking back at Vegeta in horror.
"Don't worry, I won't use the kaio ken on you yet." Goku cut in calmly, staring blankly at Nappa's face. Nappa turned to face him, and both Saiyans gave him a confused look. Vegeta quietly mouthed 'kaio-what?' under his breath, I noted.
Nappa, being the brute that he is decided to charge Goku. "You'll never be a match for me!" Nappa shouted in determination. Goku gave him a "oh, really?" look- which made me grin since he copied that look from me. When Nappa was close enough, Goku catapulted over his hulking body. I chuckled quietly as Nappa froze in surprise before being kicked in the head and sent into the ground.
"What?" Vegeta uttered in shock. I crossed my arms in fascination and watched as the fight continued on, Nappa getting more frustrated as the time wore on and he still couldn't land any punches.
"Wow.. Goku's amazing.." I said softly to myself, a fond smile on my lips. I heard a small scoff beside me and I looked down to see Krillin hovering there with a disbelieving look on his face.
"That's an understatement." I grinned and looked back at the fight just as Goku decided to kick things up a notch.
"I will destroy you!" Nappa shouted angrily, powering up a large blast and shooting it at Goku. Goku, however, was no longer there and appeared behind Nappa.
"Over here."
"Did you see that!?" Gohan asked in amazement.
Nappa immediately twisted and lifted both his hands in an attempt to catch him, but Goku was gone, now under Nappa with a fist buried in his gut.
"That was for chaozu." He said soft enough that I almost didn't catch it. Nappa glared and threw out his foot to kick him, but Goku was already on the move. This time Goku decked him in the face, sending him flying back.
"That was for Yamcha!" Goku said loudly, slowly showing to the world how angry he was. Nappa- who was headed for a rock instead bounced off the surface to hover in the air, glaring angrily at Goku.
"You.. bastard!" He growled angrily, before charging up a large blast and shooting it at Goku. I frowned at the intense concentration of ki and perked up a bit, staring worriedly at Goku as he didn't move. 'Why isn't he moving?' I wondered worriedly.
"This one I won't dodge!" He shouted. He then flung both his arms out and embraced the ball, using just his ki to dissipate the attack. The light from the ki surrounded him, making me squint my eyes in pain, but when I opened them again, he was still standing, not even breaking a sweat.
I couldn't help but smile widely in excitement and bite my fist to hold in my gleeful giggles.
"Oh my lord that was so bad ass!" I squealed quietly into my hand. If Goku managed to hear me, he didn't react, but Vegeta might of- given that he twitched a bit and his frown grew a bit deeper. I just assumed that he was just frowning over Goku's fight, seeing as there's no way he could of heard me. 'At least I hope so..'
"He blew it away.. with ki alone?" Gohan muttered in shock. I looked down to my right and nodded excitedly.
"Isn't that awesome, though?" I asked quietly. Our attention was immediately returned to the fight when Goku suddenly flew quickly up and behind Nappa, both his arms linked and above his head.
"This is for Tenshinhan!" He shouted, a glare on his face as he dropped his linked fists onto his head rapidly. Nappa instantly went down, though Goku swiftly flew down and bounced off the ground, heading back up towards the still-descending Nappa with a fist raised. "This is for Piccolo!" He yelled angrily, lacing his fist with a bit of ki and super-punching Nappa into the ground. Then he flew downward, lifting his foot and glaring hatefully.
"And THIS is for MELON!" He shouted as he landed on Nappa's stomach, causing him to let out a loud yelp as- I'm guessing- a few of his ribs cracked. He then flipped backwards off of him and kicked him viciously into a rock pile. It was all silent as the sound of falling rocks reverberated through the air, before eventually Nappa slowly emerged from the ground. He was bleeding in various places, with a small scratch on his head and numerous angry veins pulsing through his skin. He slowly stood up, glaring at Goku with so much hatred that it had me shivering a bit.
"d-damn... you..." He ground out slowly, shaking off stray bits of rock from his form.
"Well, your as tough as I expected!" Goku said casually, his false sense of calm back on his face. Nappa seemed to tense a bit more in anger as he slowly stepped out from his circle of rocks.
"I'm an elite warrior of Nobility! I won't have some low-class punk like you push me around!" Nappa screeched indignantly, charging up a burst of Ki and preparing to fire it recklessly.
"Nappa! Get a hold of yourself, fool! He can't beat you if you keep your head! Calm yourself!" Vegeta commanded angrily, glaring over at the two fighters with heavy annoyance. Nappa blinked in surprise before leaning back slightly, looking over at Vegeta and smirking.
"Y-you're right! Thanks Vegeta.. I wasn't thinking.." Nappa said wiping some blood off his chin. I sighed through my nose at the same time that Vegeta 'tched' at the two fighters.
"Well, there goes that idea. Although Nappa really doesn't stand a chance." I said to myself, scratching my cheek lazily.
"You tricked me into a fit of rage. Now you can see what I can really do." Nappa said, leaning into a proper fighting stance. Goku smirked darkly and got into his own fighting stance.
"Ah. This is what I've been waiting for."
"Heh. He's bluffing." Nappa casually announced, much to my amusement.
"Bluffing my ass." I heard Krillin mutter next to me. I nodded in agreement and grinned.
"Goku doesn't bluff. Well, not well at least." I said, recalling the few spars we've had when we were training. Krillin gave me a curious look, but I kept my gaze on the fight, smiling as I watched them both charge each other again. I couldn't help but inwardly cheer as Nappa got what he rightfully deserved. 'Ah~ sweet revenge.'
Nappa threw Goku back a bit before lifting two fingers and snapping them up. Goku leaped into the air just as the entire area around him exploded. Nappa smirked and leaped after him in the air, shouting "your mine!". They exchanged blows for another few minutes before Goku leaped away, giving a childish grin.
"Yeah, that's much better!" Nappa's smirk looked a bit forced as he glared at Goku hatefully.
"Heh.. Better, huh? I'll make sure that's the last wise crack you'll ever make! This is it, Kakarrot!" Nappa shouted before opening his mouth really wide.
"Woah, look at the size of that gob!" I said in surprise, leaning back slightly in disgust. "Nasty!" I muttered under my breath. I watched half in fascination, half in worry as a large ki ball formed inside his mouth. Before Goku could retreat, Nappa fired the ball.
"Crap!" I shouted instinctually, leaning forward a bit as I realized that Goku was too close to properly dodge. I barely caught Goku lifting his arms to cover his upper body and face when the blast hit him, creating a loud explosion and hiding the fighters in bright light. I covered my eyes and winced, floating uncertainly for a moment before carefully lowering my hands. I blinked a few times to clear the sun-spots from my vision, but when I could properly see the battle field I slumped in relief.
"Waah..~" Gohan murmured in disbelief.
"He deflected it.." I sighed in relief and grinned, immediately filled with relieved excitement.
"Woo! Go Goku!" I shouted from the sidelines, lifting my fist and shaking it enthusiastically. I heard Krillin groan in embarrassment next to me while Gohan giggled childishly.
"Phew, that one made me sweat!" Goku said with a soft grin, casting me an amused look.
"I-It can't be... That was.. my ultimate technique..." Nappa muttered disbelievingly. I tilted my head curiously.
"Wait that was Nappa's best shot?" I questioned curiously. From the looks of things, Goku muttered something to himself- 'Probably a strategy'- but just as Nappa started to get angry again, Vegeta interfered.
"That's enough! Get down here Nappa! It'll take forever with you!" He muttered with an annoyed frown. "I'll finish him myself!" Vegeta commanded before grumbling to himself. I frowned and flew a little bit lower as I realized that Vegeta was finally going to enter the fight.
"Ooh no, this isn't good.." I muttered nervously.
"Curse you.. Curse you to hell boy.. for making me surrender your execution to Vegeta.." Nappa said hatefully. Nappa started lowering himself towards the ground before his eyes snapped over to us with an evil smirk. "But I'm not satisfied leaving things as they are." He said before shooting fast towards us. I immediately tensed up as did Krillin and Gohan.
"Oh shit!" I said loudly in a panicked voice, swiftly getting into a fighting position. Goku started chasing after Nappa a second too late, meaning he wouldn't get to us in time. Nappa charged up a small but powerful ki ball and shot it at us just as Goku shouted Kaio Ken.
As the ball got closer, I held both hands up and placed a bunch of ki into them, using my energy to smack the attach down into the dirt. The whole process left a light burn on my palm, which stung a bit, but otherwise we were fine. I sighed in relief then looked around to see where Goku and Nappa were, but saw Goku standing under Nappa, using only one arm to hold him up in an uncomfortable position.
"Melon.. a-are you okay?" Gohan shakily asked. I turned to him and gave him a thumbs up.
"Yep, I'm good." I swiftly lowered myself down to ground-level just as Goku flung Nappa's body to Vegeta's feet.
"A-ah! V-vegeta..!" Nappa whined painfully once he was next to Vegeta. Vegeta didn't even glance down to Nappa but instead kept his gaze locked on us.
"He won't be fighting anymore.. Take him home and stay there." Goku said in a frightfully calm voice, his face like ice. Vegeta glared at Goku with a confused calculating stare, while Nappa continued to whine under him.
"Nnn.. It hurtss." Nappa whined. Krillin and Gohan landed just behind us and Goku turned to look at me with a calculating look.
"You alright?" I smiled, flattered that he was worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Did you use the Kaio ken?" I asked, crossing my arms gently and shifting my weight onto my left foot. Goku smiled and nodded.
"Goku.. How'd you do that? Was.. was it something The Lord of worlds taught you?"
"Melon did that earlier too, right?" Gohan asked, looking up towards me with a confused look. I smiled kindly and nodded.
"Yeah, it's called the Kaio Ken." Goku said.
"You basically control all the Ki in your body and amplify it for a heartbeat." I explained.
"If you get it right, your speed and power and everything just go zoom." Goku finished with a laid back grin.
"A-amazing! So you mean your stronger than yourself?!" Krillin asked in amazement. I tilted my head and shrugged as I thought about it.
"Pretty much, yeah."
"Then what're ya messing around for then? If you had that up your sleeve then you should of cut loose right from the start~" Krillin said while crossing his arms. Goku laughed nervously and scratched his head.
"Well, it doesn't work like that. If I don't have complete control while I'm goosing it up," I snorted quietly at his word, "then I could seriously beat myself up." He explained.
"Didn't Sensei say something like 'Don't amplify the kaio ken more than twice, otherwise your ki will explode'?" I asked, looking towards Goku for confirmation. Goku nodded and I nodded as well. "Yeah, thats something I don't want to see happen."
"V-vegeta.." I heard Nappa say and I immediately turned, looking towards Vegeta and Nappa curiously. "H-help me.." Nappa asked holding up a hand weakly. Vegeta smirked and took his hand, which made me frown at the supposedly innocent gesture, and Nappa's positive reaction to it.
"Th-thank you Vegeta.." He murmured.
"No problem." Vegeta said before turning and flinging Nappa into the air.
"What?!" I shouted in surprise, drawing the attention of the other z fighters.
"What are you doing, Vegetaaa~!" Nappa shouted in fear and surprise.
"What good are you if you cannot fight?" Vegeta asked with a smirk in his voice, powering up a ki attack. "None!" He shouted as he shot Nappa.
"What power!" Goku muttered in amazement before suddenly stiffening.
"Move!" I shouted in panic, grabbing Gohan and leaping into the air, flying as fast as I could to get out of the range of the blast. When I was high enough I stopped and Goku stopped next to me, Krillin under his arm. I looked back at the blast just as it hit Nappa, drowning out his screams with an explosion. I quickly forced Gohan's head into my shoulder, trying to hide the gruesome view from him. Gohan hugged me tightly, not even trying to look and see the explosion. I felt vomit rise in my throat and I had to look away, covering my mouth with a shaky hand.
"Oh my god.." I murmured, closing my eyes and trying to drive the image of rotting flesh from my mind. "That's disgusting.." I felt a large hand on my free shoulder and I looked up to see Goku there, looking at me with worry.
"Are you alright..?"
"..Yeah.. I think so.." I said slowly, nodding and lowering my hand. "Just.. that was unexpectedly gruesome.." I said with a small shudder. Goku gave my shoulder a reassuring squeeze before looking back towards Vegeta, who was standing triumphantly down on the ground level.
"What kind of monster is he..? To kill his own partner.." Krillin muttered disbelievingly. Goku's face hardened as he gazed at Vegeta, and Vegeta took that chance to look up at us with a smirk.
"You've gotta get to the Kame house, now!" Goku ordered harshly. All eyes snapped up to him in surprise.
"I get it.." Krillin muttered slowly, before looking to Gohan and grabbing his hand.
"You heard him! Let's go, now!" he said, tugging Gohan out of my arms. Gohan's hand clutched my shirt for a moment, refusing to leave, but I gently pried his fingers off and squeezed them gently.
"What? Why!?"
"Gohan." I said, getting his attention. "We're gonna be fighting him and we have to worry about our own backs. Don't make us worry about yours too." I said gently.
"If we stay we're only getting in the way." Krillin confirmed, tugging Gohan again. Gohan let go of my hands and slowly flew backwards, not taking his eyes off of me and Goku.
"Don't you die."
"Never." I said with a smile.
"I'm sorry, he's even stronger than I thought.." Goku muttered with a sad grin.
"Goku, do me a favor." Goku tilted his head to show he was listening. "Find somewhere else to battle!"
"What?" He asked in confusion, finally breaking his stare down with Vegeta to look at Krillin in befuddlement.
"Do you want our friend's bodies mangled when they come back to life?" Krillin asked sarcastically.
"When they come ba..? But Krillin, Piccolo's dead, and so is Kami-sama. The dragon balls are gone forever, no one is coming back to life." He said confused.
"Krillin.. is there any way..?" Gohan asked sadly.
"Is there!?" Goku asked hopefully.
"I'll explain later! Just, trust me! If you two beat him.." Krillin trailed off, gesturing with his hands a bit. Goku let out a stressed chuckle, smiling back down at Vegeta.
"That's what it all comes down to, doesn't it? If I can beat him.."
"If we can beat him. You're not alone in this, ya know." I muttered quietly, lightly bumping him with my shoulder.
"What's keeping you, boy? Suddenly feeling a little scared?" Vegeta taunted with a grin.
"Alright, I'll lead him somewhere else! Wish me luck, eh?" Goku asked with a grin.
"Goku.. I'm sorry I have to leave you, old friend... you'd better not die." Krillin said, holding out his hand and shaking Goku's hand.
"No way!" He said with a chuckle, before turning to Gohan and ruffling his hair affectionately.
"After this battle is over, lets go fishing, huh?" Gohan looked up at him with teary eyes and smiled.
"Yeah!" Krillin then looked up at me and gave me a small grin.
"Melon. I know we just met, but I wish you luck too. Don't die, you seem like a cool girl." I chuckled softly and grinned, holding out my hand.
"Maybe afterwords we can hang out and meet properly." I said, causing him to laugh too.
"I look forward to it." He said, shaking my hand before backing up. Gohan looked up at me and sniffled.
"I'll see you later, alright Gohan?" I asked. He nodded and wiped his eyes before turning and flying away, following after Krillin who left first. I turned back to Goku and smiled.
"And then there were two." I said jokingly. Goku looked me hard in the eyes, and I awkwardly averted mine to look at our new enemy. "You ready for this?" I asked softly.
"I'm guessing there's no way for me to convince you to leave, right?" He asked. I snorted quietly and shook my head.
"No way in hell. I will, however, stay on the sidelines and watch for a while, if that'll make you feel any better." I said, looking up at him and tilting my head coyly. Goku sighed and nodded, slowly lowering himself to ground level. I followed as well.
"I guess I'll take what I can get. Try not to get hurt, alright?" He asked. I couldn't help but laugh softly.
"Aye aye, sir!"
A/N: Hey guys! Sorry this chapter is a lil' late, but to be honest I reached a point where I didn't know what to write. But no worries! I jumped over that hurdle and thought about this and the next few chapters, and now I'm back on track! :3 (I'm so excited to start on the Frieza saga, you guys don't even realize. *flails*)
Anyways, I got my ipad keyboard! Granted, I got it like a week later because I got a tooth removed the only day that they were handing them out (Wisdom teeth removal is scary as sh*t, btw). But, on the plus side everyone who got theirs on time got this dinky keyboard, and I got this nice keyboard with spaces between the keys! Ha, take that early-birds! :P
Is anyone else excited for some Vegeta vs. Goku fighting? I know I am~
Oh, other off-topic-real-life-story thing; I got a sims for my Ipad, and I made a fandom town! I've already got Vegeta, Goku, and Melon (I couldn't resist), and now I'm having pairing issues. How sad is that? XD I think I'll just make them all in a relationship or roommates or something.. *Tilts head in thought*
