Chapter 15

Goku and I landed on the ground, our game faces on as we looked at the confident Saiyan grin at us.

"Find out it's useless to run?" He asked mockingly. I scoffed quietly and clenched my fists lightly, feeling the tension in the air.

"We're not fighting here." Goku stated. Vegeta smirked and crossed his arms with utter confidence.

"Have it your way." He said calmly. Then we all flew up in the air and towards the west, flying quietly but quickly. It was around 20 minutes later, when we were flying over a rocky desert, that Goku finally spoke up.

"Here is fine. Nothing lives in this desert." He said, stopping and facing Vegeta who grinned and backed up a bit.

"Which makes it a fitting place to die." Vegeta said with a chuckle. We all dropped quickly and landed on the ground, Vegeta on a slightly higher outcrop than us.

"Oh haha, your so funny." I grumbled quietly under my breath with an annoyed roll of my eyes.

"You should be honored, you know." He said, which made me tilt my head in confusion. 'He better not be talking to me, or I swear to god..' "A bottom-tier boy like you going against an elite like me.. We Saiyan are tested for combat aptitude soon after we are born... The pitiful babes with low battle-numbers are shipped off to a low level planet with no opponents.. just like you were." Vegeta said, giving Goku a condescending look.

"Goku is no bottom-tier." I said softly, looking over Goku and giving him an appreciative glance. Vegeta caught this and gave me an annoyed look.

"If that's how I got to earth, I'm grateful." Goku said, probably missing our exchange. "On this planet we know that even the lowest born can outdo the elite if they work hard enough." Goku said with a grin.

"Heh. well at least they have a sense of humor." Vegeta said with a sarcastic grin. I rolled my eyes and backed up a hundred yards, far enough away that their attacks wouldn't hurt me, yet close enough that I could still hear their conversation.

"I'll just wait here until you guys are done." I said sarcastically, leaning against a rock and grinning. Neither of them looked my way, choosing instead to focus on each other. I smirked and crossed my arms, trying to conceal my excitement.

'This is gonna be good..' I thought with a grin. Surprisingly, Goku was the first one to attack, charging at Vegeta with his fist raised. Vegeta dodged his fist then shot his own fist out, but Goku caught it and retaliated with his foot. Vegeta jumped back and out of Goku's range, but Goku immediately followed after him, bouncing off of rocks as he went. I followed them with my eyes, eagerly observing as they continued their fist fight.

"What's wrong, Kakarrot? Where's all that power?!" Vegeta shouted with a grin, disappearing and reappearing behind Goku. Goku managed to drop before he got backhanded, but he quickly shot up and tried kicking Vegeta again. "This isn't how you defeated Nappa!" Vegeta suddenly glared and attacked Goku with his hands linked, sending him straight down. "Show me!"

I flinched when Goku got punched, but sighed in relief when Goku flipped in mid-air and landed calmly on his feet. Vegeta landed as well, crossing his arms and smirking. I let out another sigh and ran my fingers through my hair in exasperation.

"Geez."

"Okay then, I'll show you!" Goku said with an exited lilt in his voice. I perked up and looked at him with a small amount of interest, watching as he activated his Kaio Ken. He shot some invisible energy at Vegeta's rock, and managed to destroy the rock but once again missed Vegeta. Goku immediately continued, flying after Vegeta and punching him in the face. Goku then continued his attack by kicking Vegeta away. Vegeta flipped mid air until he was straight, then he kicked Goku away from him, dispelling the Kaio Ken while he was at it. Goku stood there, panting heavily and assessing Vegeta. Vegeta smirked in amusement as he looked over the tired Goku.

"Was that all? Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed." He said with a grin. I crossed my arms and frowned, tilting my head a bit as I assessed both the Saiyans.

'Looks like that took a good chunk outta Goku's energy. I doubt he's defeated yet. Vegeta, just how strong are you?' I wondered with a twinge of worry coursing through me. Suddenly both Goku and Vegeta smirked, both assessing the other with looks varying between amusement and anticipation. I frowned and grabbed my forearms tightly, biting my tongue as I observed the exchange.

'I understand why Vegeta is smiling. But why is Goku smiling?'

"I'd say you hit your limit. But why don't I show you something before you die.. The overwhelming power of a Saiyan elite!" Vegeta announced arrogantly, holding his head up high.

"Go ahead!" Goku shouted back, straightening up and flexing his muscles in anticipation. My whole body subtly stood straighter and I found my eyes drawn to his bulging muscles for a moment. I licked my lips nervously before I forced my gaze away and onto Vegeta.

"Keh. I can't wait to wipe that smirk off your face." Vegeta said, shifting into a battle stance and flexing his muscles. 'Those nice, bulging, strong- oh god, it was a bad idea to look at Vegeta. But those muscles..!' I thought in despair, a low whine escaping my mouth automatically. Vegeta started yelling and raising his power level up, and if anything that is what knocked me of my sudden trance. I blinked and uncrossed my arms as his power level rose rapidly, causing the surroundings to shake and quake. I immediately flew a few inches off the ground, but even then I found the air unstable and oppressive.

I shivered and gasped as his power wafted over me in waves, steadily increasing until he was literally producing electricity off his form. The wind started to blow harshly and even the sky began to darken, dark clouds blocking out the sun.

"Holy shit!" I shouted in awe, covering most of my face with my arm, but leaving enough room to look out and see Vegeta's form.

"What chi!" I heard Goku shout out in surprise. Just as suddenly as everything started, it stopped. The clouds blew away in mere seconds, the wind died down, and it was so silent. The only sound filling the air was stray rocks crumbling down and hitting the floor. I warily lowered my hands and looked up, only to feel my mouth go dry as Vegeta stood there, a deadly smirk on his face as he gazed at Goku with a challenging expression. I gulped as my eyes and my senses stuck to his form, taking in the full muscles lining his arms and legs, with just a little bit of sweat lining his form, which made him just that much more appealing. My senses were going haywire with his impressive power boost. I licked my lips but suddenly bit on them, forcing myself to close my eyes with a grimace.

"Oh god he's got to stop that smirk. It's doing things to me." I said to myself, running a hand across my face and trying to cool my heated body. I breathed slowly, trying to center myself and instead decided to listen in on their conversation rather than watch them. 'There's too many hormones raging in me for my liking..' I thought with a mental wince.

"This is it Kakarrot!" Vegeta announced, an arrogant gait in his tone. I opened my eyes halfway and lowered my palm, deciding that I was going to watch rather than sense. Just as I decided it, Vegeta charged Goku- head butting him and sending him flying back. My eyes immediately popped open in surprise and I watched, open mouthed, as Vegeta speedily chased after Goku, attacking him with punches and kicks that he couldn't avoid.

"Oh shit." I murmured in shock, suddenly realizing just how powerful he could be. Vegeta elbowed Goku into the ground and appeared a few feet away, charging an attack and shooting it at Goku. Goku was anticipating the attack already and activated the Kaio Ken before moving out of the way. I felt my breath hitch when I realized he used Kaio Ken times two.

'Desperate times call for desperate measures, sure, but doesn't he realize how much pain he's gonna be in?!' I thought with surprise. Goku leaped onto a cliff face and jumped out into the air, searching for Vegeta when suddenly Vegeta appeared and shot at him. Goku quickly tilted his body and miraculously, the attack only grazed his chest. I winced and made a small noise in my throat and felt myself tense but I stayed my ground. I was really tempted to go out there and join the fight, regardless of what I told Goku.

"Good! That's very good! You dodged well!" Vegeta stated loudly, amusement coloring his tone. Goku landed on a rock and huffed as Vegeta floated in front of him, leaning forward slightly. Fortunately- or unfortunately- Vegeta's back was facing me, and that meant I had the perfect view of his butt.

"Oh dear lord." I muttered lowly, inhaling and feeling a blush coming on. I lifted my hand to cover the blush, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from that ass. I tilted my head a bit to get a better look, and I felt my body heat up a bit. 'Why does he have to be so god damn attractive? Oh my god, what is wrong with me!? Stop getting the hots for Vegeta! He's a bad guy, remember!?'

I inwardly scolded myself. 'Stop looking at his butt. Stop it. Just turn away- look at Goku! Anyone but Vegeta's nice, round, perfectly shape- Stop it!' I felt my blush burn harder and i groaned loudly, forcing myself to look away and not admire that ass anymore. I turned my head down and caught eyes with Goku, who was already staring at me with a confused yet conflicted look. I felt my blush burn bright when I realized he saw me oggling his opponent's butt.

'Oh my god, he saw me! As if this wasn't embarrassing enough!' I thought in humiliation. I clenched my hands into fists and gulped, biting down on my thumb in embarrassment. Goku suddenly snapped his attention back to Vegeta, but his face was more along the lines of 'fuck it. Let's do this.'. Suddenly, Goku smirked, looking at Vegeta with a dark glint in his eye. Immediately all my hormones left, instead replaced with confusion. 'Well, i guess not all the hormones left, because that look is sexy as shit on him.' I suddenly laughed quietly, because I couldn't help it. 'Wow, here I am watching an epic battle between two of the last Saiyans, and I'm here oggling their bodies. How pathetic am I?' I thought, shaking my head to clear it of all thought. 'God, what is wrong with my body? I'm not usually like this..'

"What's the matter Kakkarot? Come at me! Ha! Have you use all the tricks up your sleeve!?" Vegeta smirked and Goku remained unmoved. "You've chosen the wrong opponent! I was the greatest warrior back on my planet, your failure was predestined!" Vegeta announced arrogantly.

"Well, don't put all your eggs in one basket." I said to myself, crossing my arms again and watching curiously.

"You've only prolonged the time it takes to be defeated!" He taunted. His smirk suddenly dropped in shock when Goku suddenly powered up, his whole body nearly bursting with power.

"Just hold on as long as you can body-!"

"Wait a minute- GOKU DON-"

"KAIO KEN TIMES THREE!" Goku shouted, suddenly activating the Kaio ken and encasing his body with a red glow. I instinctively took a step back as the powers pushed over me, and even Vegeta moved back in shock.

"Wh-what?!"

Goku didn't waste a second. He charged Vegeta with a serious glint in his eyes, punching the surprised Saiyan in the cheek and sending him flying back. Goku flew under him and kicked upwards, hitting him in the lower back and sending him flying up. Vegeta flipped and thrust his palms together, aiming for Goku, but Goku flew in an arch around Vegeta. Vegeta growled and shot at Goku, but Goku disappeared and reappeared behind Vegeta, lifting both his arms and clocking him on the head. Vegeta was then thrust into a mountain, and all was silent for a moment, before the mountain trembled. Vegeta's enraged yell became clear when he literally body blasted the top half of the mountain off. Goku then bounced off the rocks towards Vegeta, staying low, and Vegeta angrily held out a palm to attack Goku. Goku merely leaped up and over Vegeta, which made him spit in rage.

"Curse you!" He shouted. Goku flipped in mid air and kicked Vegeta in the back, sending him flying forward. Vegeta quickly uprighted himself and turned, glaring angrily at Goku. He sent out a punch, but Goku dodged around it and nailed him in the stomach, throwing Vegeta away. Vegeta stopped himself but coughed up blood, spitting it out and wiping his mouth with a shaky hand.

"tha-that slime..!" Vegeta spat angrily. Goku by then stopped his assault, dropping onto a rock and slumping a bit. Immediately I bounded over, jumping from rock to rock before I landed next to Goku.

"Goku! Are you effing crazy!?" I shouted as I landed on his rock. Goku didn't even look at me, instead tilting his head a bit and lifting an arm to stop me.

"Melon, stay back! This fight isn't through!"

"But-"

"Don't interfere!" Goku said, finally turning to glance at me and give me a stern look. I frowned before sighing heavily, bouncing back a few paces but staying relatively close.

"Blood...I shed my noble blood- for this trash! And with that knowledge, I cannot endure..!" Vegeta spat, angrily rising a couple hundred feet in the air. Immediately, both me and Goku looked up, tensing in anticipation.

"I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS PLANET! I'LL TURN IT TO ASHES, AND YOU ALONG WITH IT!" Vegeta shouted angrily, standing in a new pose and immediately blowing his power level up. I shook slightly as I looked up at him, horror filling me as I realized he was preparing to blow up the Earth.

"Oh shit!" I squeaked. The area around Vegeta's hands started to glow purple, and immediately Goku got into action, settling himself into the Kamehameha stance.

"Crap!" Goku cursed, which made me jolt with surprise. Even though it wasn't the worst out of all the curses, it still surprised me because Goku never curses.

"Dodge this one trash! If you dodge this attack, then the whole earth gets blown to smithereens!" Vegeta announced angrily.

"I guess I'll have to take a gambit!" Goku shouted to himself. "Kaio ken times three!" Goku shouted, immediately encasing himself in red energy. I growled, annoyance filling me before I ran to Goku, sliding to a stop next to him and mirroring his stance.

"Melon-"

"Shut the fuck up and concentrate!" I shouted back, ignoring him and glaring up at Vegeta. Vegeta gave me a look of rage but didn't stop powering up, and I immediately powered up too.

"Kaio ken!" I shouted. I became encased in red, and I started to chant, along with Goku. In sync, we powered up a kamehameha ball in our hands, and simultaneously we- all three of us- released our attacks.

"You could never dodge my Gyarriku-ho!" Vegeta shouted, releasing his attack.

"HAA!" Me and Goku shouted simultaneously, holding up our hands and releasing our attacks. All three attacks met halfway and came to a standstill, none of them budging or gaining any leeway. I grunted as Vegeta's attack pressed down upon my own, but I refused to budge. Vegeta increased his power the tiniest bit, and I automatically sunk a bit lower into my stance, grunting in pain. I exhaled loudly and happened to look at Goku, noticing the sweat dotting his brow. I frowned when I caught his eye, noticing him asking something non verbally. I immediately widened my eyes when he closed his eyes tightly and started to mouth 'Kaio Ken'.

'Oh hell no!' I thought angrily, realizing that he was going to put his body through so much more pain just to partially win this fight.

"KAIO KEN TIMES TWO!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, not giving Goku the chance to finish the phrase. Immediately my power level increased. "KAIO KEN TIMES THREE!" I shouted, not stopping as my body kept increasing it's power.

"Melon! No!" Goku shouted, but I ignored him, instead focusing on my objective: Overpower Vegeta and not let Goku sacrifice his body. Even with my Kaio Ken X3, Vegeta's attack got slightly pushed back, but it wasn't enough. I took a deep, shaky breath and mentally prepared myself, knowing what I'd have to do.

"KAIO... TIMES.. FOUR!" I shouted loudly. Immediately, my power level jumped, and my blast inflated, swiftly dwarfing Vegeta's until it was reduced back to his hands. Vegeta started to slip back before shouting in pain as our attacks completely dwarfed his own. When my attack fully left my body and chased after Vegeta, I stood there for a moment, breathing heavily and squinting my eyes in pain. There was utter silence until a sudden cheer could be heard in the background, but that sounded so far away. All I could hear was my breathing and my heartbeat beating erratically in my chest. All my energy drained away and black dots started to creep along the edge of my vision. I heard a strange voice talking happily a few feet away, and I think I heard my name, but it was all becoming muffled.

All I could see was the blue sky, quickly becoming darker and darker. My limbs ached and felt stiff, my legs were jelly, and I felt like I was beaten with a crowbar- no with a steamroller. I coughed again and tasted metal on my tongue but that was the last thing I could register. Finally, I took one last painful breath before my vision was completely taken away from me, along with all feeling. My whole body gave up on me and I was left in blissful darkness.

A/N: Hey! Merry Christmas/Hanukkah/Winter Holiday! Sorry for the lateness-ness with this (and it's short-ness in word quantity), but to be honest I could write a freaking essay on how busy I was during these last few months. To put it in simple terms however; School. Job. Moving. Painting walls. Video Projects. working 6 days a week. short staffed.

'nuff said.

I hope next month I can get, i don't know, three days off from work instead of my 1-2 days off. I guess it'll be my New Year's resolution. (Along with actually writing more..)

Did you guys like Melon's little hormone attack earlier? Gosh, she gets distracted so easily! XD But do you guys know what this means for her? I'm curious in what you think is going on.. C:

Anyways, I hope you guys liked this battle scene, I'll try and kick some more out this month but no promises.

But yeah, I thought that I really needed to get this out to you guys before Christmas, just so that you guys had something to look forward to from me. And hey, this can count as a christmas gift, right? So there ya go. Early present from me!

Hey guys! I'm back! Well, almost back, I'm still working on the next chapter /dodges brick/ but hey, I graduated high school! And it's summer too! So I've got more than enough time to wok on this story and upload it! So, sit tight, and thanks for your patience! I know it's been rough, but it will get better probably!
