A/N: Did you miss me?

Chapter 16

I woke up slowly, my vision blurring slightly. I blinked a few times and frowned in confusion, trying to make out the face above me.

"G-Goku..?" I asked warily. I shifted my body in a stretch and sighed. I completely stopped when I realized that I should of been unable to move-at least every part of my body should be aching. Instead, I felt fine. Even better than fine.

I glared and looked up at the relieved Goku, giving him a stern look.

"Goku. You didn't..." I stated. Goku gave a small smile and tilted his head slightly in a nod. I growled and sat up, coming even closer to Goku's kneeling form.

"Goku! You little brat! That last Senzu bean was for you! Why'd you go and waste it on me like that!?" I shouted in annoyance, taking the time to look over Goku's body to see just how messed up he was.

"Because you wrecked your body. You would of died if I didn't give you that bean." Goku said calmly, avoiding eye contact with me. I huffed and sat back on my haunches, crossing my arms and glaring at him.

"Oh yeah? But now look at you, your ex-hau-sted! No, not exhausted, more like beaten. I knew it was gonna be like this, and that's why I was saving it for you, so you could keep fighting! " I groaned loudly and ran my hand down my face, trying to calm myself down. "Your such a good person, it sucks. Did you forget that your friends have the dragon balls and you could of just wished me back? Or that I would of gone to King Kai's place instead? There's nothing keeping me here, Goku. Your the one with a family and friends. You're the one with the most to lose." I said bitterly. I felt my eyes water up a bit but I growled and wiped them quickly. 'God, I'm so irritated. Don't freaking cry just cause your mad.' I thought in annoyance. I ignored Goku's sudden sympathetic and worried look and stood up, scanning the sky.

"Whatever. I'll finish your fight, Goku. Stay here and rest." I said coldly, stepping around him and walking a few feet away. I heard movement and paused, turning my head from the skies and looking down at a short fat guy standing a few feet away. I blinked and tilted my head in confusion.

"And who're you?" I asked, walking past him and stopping near the edge of the cliff we stood on.

"I'm Yanjirobe. You?" He said in a nasally voice.

"I'm Melon." I stated, turning and scanning the skies with both my ki-detector and my eyes for Vegeta again.

It was silent for a moment before he shifted, crossing his arms in an attempt to be stern.

"You know, Goku's just worried about you."

"He doesn't need to be." I said calmly.

"Yeah, but that's Goku. He worries over everyone, whether they need it or not." I huffed in amusement, nodding my head in agreement, but otherwise stayed silent. "But.. He really worries about you. I've never seen him so panicked.." I frowned and looked down at him, giving him a doubtful look.

"I doubt he worries more over me than anyone else." I said, looking back up at the sky.

"You were passed out, so you didn't see it. Why are you looking at the sky?" Yanjirobe asked with a confused look. I smirked and glanced down at him.

"You'd better run, because he's coming back down." I said. Yajirobe suddenly froze and looked up at me in horror.

"Wh-what? Y-y-you don't mean..!" I made a small humming noise and nodded. Yajirobe immediately spun on his heel and ran towards Goku.

"If he was that easy to kill, I would of nailed him right from the get go." I continued, turning my body and giving Goku a grin. 'I can't stay mad at him. Not when he has good intentions like that..'

Goku looked over at me and gave me a relieved smile back. Yajirobe spoke up, drawing both of our attention to him.

"W-well I'll see ya! G-good luck!" He shouted, trying to mask his fear with poor confidence. Then he turned and booked it, running and disappearing behind a bunch of rocks. I stifled a laugh and turned back to Goku, giving him an amused look.

"Wow, what a wuss." Goku chuckled in agreement before we both turned, looking back up at the sky for any signs of Vegeta.

"What's he doing up there? Why doesn't he come down and fight?" Goku asked curiously.

"Who knows. He's pretty alien, if you ask me." I said with a straight face. Goku locked eyes with me and I broke my facade a moment later, giggling with Goku over my joke. We both suddenly tensed and looked up just as Vegeta descended into our eyesight.

"Here we go." I said, straightening up and shifting a bit in front of Goku.

"Goku. Do you think you have enough energy for a spirit bomb?" I asked quietly.

"U-uh, maybe."

"Well, you might want to get started while I hold him off." I said, clenching my fists.

"You thought you outsmarted me by blowing up the moon, didn't you?!" Vegeta shouted down at us, laughing with a cocky grin on his face.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, frowning in confusion.

"Ha! Don't play stupid! Do you even know how we transform by seeing the full moon?" Vegeta stated cockily, grinning down at us with a superior look. Me and Goku exchanged a confused glance, before we looked back up at him.

"Trans-what?" Goku asked in confusion. I mentally face palmed at his comment but for the most part kept my attention on Vegeta.

"Moonlight is only sunlight reflected, but only when reflected by the moon does it contain green-spectrum radiation… When the moon is full, that radiation exceeds 17 million zeno units per second, and when we absorb that full amount through our eyes- then the Saiyan reaction is set off in a certain gland in our tails, and our transformation begins! There are many moons around many planets in this galaxy, but no matter their size, their green radiation will not exceed 17 million z.p.s. without the circular reflective space of a full moon. How ever, The greatest Saiyans can compress the planet's atmosphere with a power ball to create a small artificial moon that reflects 17 million zeno!" Vegeta explained, quickly using a good section of his energy and making a white ball. He then threw it high up into the air, and our eyes followed it in surprise.

"Oooh shit, Goku we are so screwed!" I said, instinctively taking a step back as I realized what he was planning on doing.

"But I'm still confused! H-his power went down as soon as he made that weird light! What's he going to do over there?!"

"This is it, Kakarrot! It's finally time for you to die! A low ranked fighter should never challenge the elite!" Vegeta yelled out arrogantly, a manic grin on his face. "Burst and mix!" He announced, closing his fist.

"Oh crap! No!" I shouted, charging from my position and throwing a fist at Vegeta. Vegeta sidestepped me and swung his foot out, hitting me in the side and throwing me away.

"It's too bad you lost your tails, traitors!" Vegeta teased before he looked up at the light. The reaction was almost immediate, his aura pulsed with new found power. I sat up and pushed myself into the rock face, using the rocks to help me stand. I shook slightly as Vegeta grew bigger and bigger, his entire body morphing into that of a giant ape. Miraculously, his clothes stretched with him.

"Oh god..." I murmured, wincing when he released a loud laugh. His laugh echoed among the rocks, and I found I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

'How am I supposed to fight him? He's huge, and his power level has practically doubled!'

"How do you like this, Kakarrot?" Vegeta asked.

"Oh, and he talks too." I murmured with a hint of despair. I watched as he focused his attention on Goku, grinning malevolently down at him. Goku accused Vegeta of something, and Vegeta laughed in amusement.

"Now that's a good one! A Saiyan is most powerful in it's ape form! A Saiyan.. That still has a tail!" Vegeta informed with an evil taunt at the end. Goku grit hits teeth and a pained look crossed his face, and I took that time to gain myself.

'Okay Melon, get a hold of yourself. You have to buy time. You have to.'

I steeled my expression and pasted an arrogant grin on my face.

"Hey, fluffy!" Vegeta visibility twitched before he turned to face me, looking down at me with a slight glare in his eyes.

"Don't tell me you forgot about me already, did you?" In my nervousness, I formed a small power ball and began playing with it, tossing it back and forth in my hands in a nonchalant manner. "I'm feeling a little neglected, honestly. I've been waiting to tumble with you all day. Why don't you leave Goku for now and play with me for a bit?" I teased, opening my arms and letting my orb scatter and turn invisible. The couple of pieces that formed the orb fell to the ground unseen and dug into the dirt, turning into a hidden mine. To anyone else, however, that move looked like I simply dispersed the energy. I smirked a bit and flew up into the air, keeping a safe distance away but remaining at eye level with the now-amused Ape.

"Oh, I've been neglecting you, have I?" Vegeta took a large step closer, and it took all I had in me not to smirk. "Well, why don't we play hit and run?" He asked, his voice deepening a bit.

"Oh, I'd rather play battleship." I said with a grin, before I turned and ran. I heard a small explosion behind me and I smirked, before I flew down towards the ground and hid among the rocks. I looked between two rocks and watched as he shook the dust off himself, before he looked around in an agitated way.

"Oh, playing hide and seek now? Well, you can't hide for long!" He said loudly. He then floated up In the air and looked around, scanning the area. I turned back around and leaned against the rock, letting out a small burst of air. I opened my eyes and looked down at my hands, holding them up and powering them. A bunch of tiny power balls, all a golden color, filled my hands. I gently spread my hands apart and opened them.

"Scatter." I whispered, watching as they all blinked then fled from my hands. A few went into the ground and traveled the battlefield, while others stayed out in the air and maneuvered around rocks. I exhaled then looked between the rocks again, but tensed when I didn't immediately see Vegeta. I immediately spread my senses and looked up, catching eyes with Vegeta.

"Found you!" Immediately I flew forward, bouncing off of rocks as Vegeta started firing at me.

"Activate!" I yelled out, simultaneously swiping my hand down which caused a series of loud explosions behind me. I leaped onto a rock and propelled myself up into the air, spinning around and locking onto Vegeta. He, for the most part, was unharmed by my attack. If anything, his fur was slightly unruffled, but otherwise my attack did nothing.

"Damn." I cursed quietly, before holding my hands out before me. I held them straight out then slowly made a wide circle, pouring energy from my hands out into the air. The green ball was about the size of a grapefruit when I made a full circle. "Seimei No Wa!" I shouted, immediately shooting the orb at supersonic speed. Vegeta looked up and swiftly batted it away before it could hit him, causing me to whine a bit. He then opened his mouth, charging energy between his teeth. I barely released my curse before he shot, leaving me with only one choice. I threw my arms in front of myself, curling mid air and adding some of me ki to make a slight buffer. The attack hit me head on, causing me to let out a pained grunt as it swiftly shattered the ki barrier and slammed into my arms. Roaring pain spread along my arms and legs, but luckily my stomach and head were fine.

I didn't have any recover time, because the next thing I know, a giant, furry fist slammed into my body, sending me down to the earth. I felt all my breath leave me in a big woosh as I slammed into the rocks. I coughed and sat up, quickly rolling out of the way as a giant foot landed in my crater, making it bigger. Despite my pain, I quickly ran away, jumping off of rocks as I went.

"Where are you going, Melon? Is this entertaining enough?" Vegeta cackled, following after and easily kicking me into a mountain. I groaned loudly and glared up at him, spitting out some pink spit in irritation.

"Shut..up.. fatso.." I groaned, slowly picking myself out of the vertical dent in the mountain side. Vegeta stood there, grinning animalistically with his arms crossed.

"Oh, that one hurt." He said sarcastically. I growled and flew up until I was eye level with him. I discreetly summoned my power, gathering it up through my body and into my mouth. Instead of speaking, I opened my mouth wide and shot it out, sending the blinding white attack straight into his eye, causing him to let out a scream of anger and pain. I instantly used that moment to fly low and to Goku, who was weakly standing on an outcrop with his hands up.

I nearly fell onto the rock, but managed to stable myself at the last moment. I could hear Vegeta screaming obscenities in the background and smirked, giving Goku a winning smile.

"Hah.. How's it comin'?" I asked, taking much needed gulps of air. Goku gave me a weak grin back, looking up into the area between his hands with a winning smile.

"I've got it! Now-!" I smiled happily, looking forward to ending this battle when suddenly I felt a looming presence behind me, causing me to stiffen. I swiftly turn back towards Vegeta only to freeze, a scream stuck in my throat as his mouth opened and a powerful attack hit us. When the burning blast hit us, I couldn't help but let out a tiny, pain filled scream, which mixed with Goku's own yell. The blast sent us both onto another outcropping, leaving us lying there in the open, broken and unable to move.

'Ah… oh..ie… pain.. oh god.. am I still in tact.. How am I alive?' I thought, weakly opening one eye and staring ahead. I was on my stomach, my face facing away from Goku and leaving me staring at nothing.

"Mel..on?" Goku weakly grunted behind me. I groaned loudly and tried to turn my head, scraping my nose against the heated rock painfully. When I caught sight of Goku I felt myself deflate.

"Goku… I'm sorry.. Stupid… I was stupid!" I grunted out in self-hatred, closing my eyes and trying to hold in my tears. "I didn't… realize he was so.. close."

"Melon.." Goku said, his voice soft and forgiving. I felt my throat clench at his tone.

"You've got spunk! But you're out of tricks, aren't you? Melon~" Vegeta's voice drifted from behind me, causing me to tense in fear. I immediately shot open my eyes and stared ahead of me in horror, focusing all my senses on the looming figure landing just behind us.

'Oh god, no. No no no.. Please, body, move! For Goku's sake and your own!' I thought in a panic, trying to force my body to respond. I tried moving my arm to lift my body up, only to cry out and collapse as a shooting pain went up my arm. 'Broken?! No, my muscles are just strained to their limit. Oh fuck please no.' After a quick assessment I realized that even if I could stand up, my legs were beaten to hell and wouldn't hold me up anyway. I cursed quietly when a loud laugh filled the air, causing me to tense further.

I noticed movement and looked up to see Goku try jumping away, only to be caught by Vegeta and flung into the rock face.

"Goku!" I yelled, feeling horror wash over my features as Vegeta casually stepped forward and stomped on Goku's legs. A loud duo crack filled the air, followed by an ear piercing scream from Goku. Vegeta moved his leg after a moment, fully gloating as Goku wheezed in pain.

"Agh.. my.. legs!" he weakly cried out, causing me to tear up.

"Goku.." I whispered, feeling a sick feeling wash through my veins.

"Tsk tsk." Vegeta said, reminding me that he was still here. I immediately glared up at him through my peripheral, since moving my head any more was too painful. "Silly me. I left you alive. Better hope my aim is true." He said malevolently, aiming at Goku with just his pointer finger. "Better hope you die, or would you rather the earth is destroyed?" He taunted, slamming his finger down and crushing the rocks next to Goku.

"Sh-shut up.. Vegeta.. you beat us.. you were stronger than I.. or anybody else thought.. B..but if you think.. this is something to be proud of.. y..you're gonna learn.. you're gonna pay.. someday.." Goku said, one eye shut in pain. Vegeta roared playfully, aiming his finger and going to slam it down, causing me to yell out in fear. Suddenly Goku emitted a bright light, causing Vegeta to yell and stagger back, his hands covering his eyes in pain.

"Heh. Just call it… something to remember me by..." Goku uttered. I shivered in fear, choking out Goku's name in a mix of relief and fear.

Goku's body suddenly slumped, causing me to call out to him in worry.

"Hah.. can't even… move my arms now….. do whatever you want." Goku uttered painfully. I felt a tear slip from my eye and land in the dirt. Goku looked over at me with his one good eye and he smiled a bit, giving me a calm look.

"Impudent.. Worm! You scarred my face!" Vegeta shouted, completely enraged. I looked back and noticed his left eye had a jagged mark on it, still lightly bleeding causing his eye to close. He growled enraged and picked Goku up, causing me to cry out in worry.

"No! Goku!" I shouted horrified as Vegeta squeezed Goku.

"I'll crush you!" He shouted, squeezing his hands slowly around Goku, "Die!" Goku suddenly let loose another ear piercing scream, throwing his head back in pain as multiple cracks echoed around us.

"Goku! No Vegeta! Please stop!" I screamed, closing my eyes and feeling tears soak my cheeks. Goku stopped screaming, his head falling limp and Vegeta let out a small chuckle.

"Mmm, I felt his bones break with that one. That must of hurt." Vegeta said carelessly, causing me to snap open my eyes and glare at him in pure fury.

"You mother fucker.." I growled out, causing him to squint his eyes down at me before he widened them with renewed amusement.

"Ah, Melon. I forgot about you for a moment. But don't worry, I'll make sure to make up for ignoring you." Vegeta said, his voice tinting into something dark and scary. He reached out his other hand and scooped me up, causing me to yell out in fear and anger.

"Ack! No, you damn bastard -aah! Let goo!" I screamed, trying to kick my feet but to no avail. He gently squeezed me, but what was gentle for him was extremely painful on my already-weak body. I squeaked in pain, taking a couple minutes to try and breathe through the pain. He started to laugh at me, causing me to glare up at him through my one eye, the other one shut due to blood dripping into it.

"What… are you laughing at… you princely bastard?" I growled out, gasping between words and trying to come up with any good insult, but to little avail. He held me up higher, looking deep into my eyes with a bloodthirsty grin.

"You. Even when your this far gone, you still have a back bone. Although, I can easily get rid of that.." He said playfully, giving another squeeze. I gasped and flung my head back, eyes shut in pain and tongue bit to prevent any screams from escaping.

"Oh come now, it's no fun if you don't scream. You don't want to take my fun away, now do you?" He asked, leaning forward a bit and grinning at me. I glared at him and spit towards him. He was too far away for my bloody saliva to hit his face like I wanted, but he got the general message. I could tell, with the way his grip tightened in barely restrained anger.

I felt my ribs straining against his hold, trying to breath but barely being able to. I let out a weak laugh, holding my head down and resting my bloodied forehead against his furred hand.

"What's so funny?" He asked menacingly. He loosened his hold and I took in deep lung fulls of air before glaring up at him.

"Nothing, other than the fact that it's gonna be a relief to be dead and out of your pitiful grasp." I spat, giving him a malevolent grin. My grin dropped into a pained frown as he tightened his grip again, forcing a weak groan from my lips.

"Oh really? Well, sorry to burst your bubble, Melon, but you aren't dying anytime soon."

"Oh..yeah..? Then… what's… this?" I grunted out, closing my eyes tightly and biting his hand, but to no avail.

"Hm, I like to think of it as submissive training." He said, his voice slightly teasing. I instantly felt a cold chill run down my spine as the words suddenly clicked in.

'Surely he doesn't mean… oh fuck.'

I instantly looked up at him and glared hatefully, an unwanted blush crossing my cheeks.

"Oh, hell no! I am not an uke you self righteous bastard! What makes you think I'd lay back and take it, huh?! Like I'd ever have sex with yo-aah!" I cut off as he squeezes harshly and unforgivingly, causing massive strain on my ribs. I heard and felt a small crack which made me scream in pain as one of my ribs broke. I felt a few tears run down my cheeks as I tried to inhale, but no air was entering my already restrained lungs.

"It's not up to you whether you want to or not. I guess you can say it's your destiny." He said, his voice a monotone. Suddenly his grip loosened, and he looked over his shoulder with a curious look.

"Someone is here..where though?" He asked himself curiously.

"Right here!" A small, familiar voice shouted, causing me to blink lazily and look down in rising fear and worry. My eyes locked onto his small form and I felt my heart drop as dread sunk in.

"..Gohan.."

So, did you like? I sure hope you did, cause this took a while to complete (like a couple months, eh?)

I'm surprised I finished this today.. I thought I'd have to wait until wednesday to update.. Oh well, surprise! Lucky for you~ haha.

Once again, sorry for the delay, I was kind of graduating, so I was a bit preoccupied. ^^; But I'm back and hopefully better than ever! I'm thinking that, since I'm going to be at the library in town every other day, I should be able to update much more frequently. Well, that's the idea at least.
