The Greatest Gift
Ever since I met you,
Me life has felt complete,
I know that I love you,
Like a sister loves her siblings.
If I were to die tommorow,
What would you do,
For I know what I would do,
If it were you.
You are my gift,
The gift to an undeserving girl,
Who cares only for herself,
And of course you.
I think of you,
Each and everyone of you everday,
And as I've told you countless times,
That I am your gaurdian angel.
I will never let anything happen to you,
Call on me,
And I'll come,
As swift as a swallow on the wings of the wind.
You never knew that I cared about you this much,
And I know that you have your doubts,
You doubt if it is actually me,
Writing this poem to you.
It is me,
I can tell you things that only I would know,
Like, how every night,
I thank my lucky star for friends like you.
That I have a friend like Harry,
To make me laugh,
To make me smile,
And isn't disgusted by my crazy thoughts.
A friend like Hazel,
Who trusts me with her secrets,
Who I trust with my secrets,
Who knows what's wrong when I'm feeling down.
A friend like David,
Who knows when enough is enough,
Who keeps me in line,
But is also fun to be with.
A friend like Jack,
The right amount of responsible and crazy,
Who has been in the exact same problems as me,
And is always there to help me through it.
When there was no one I knew,
You were there,
With open arms,
And a smile.
I know that I am strong,
I know that I am proud,
I know that I don't say thank you,
Often enough.
Before I met you,
I never felt lucky,
What would you think of me now,
I am one of the luckiest girls alive.
And it's all thanks to you,
My glorious friends,
The ones who are always there to protect me,
And who will be protected by me from now on.
