Castle Days
Kirka sighed as she looked out her bedroom window. It had been three days sense she, Rin and Sesshoumaru had arrived at the castle. Sense then, she had seen very little of Sesshoumaru, and far to much of his annoying toad.
They had arrived amid servants and Jaken, bowing and doing their utmost to help their lord, despite the fact that most were terrified of him. Because of this, they were more annoying than helpful. Nevertheless they had been kind and respectful, to the point of idiocy. Unlike Sesshoumaru's captains.
Being youkai, they had all immediately known Kirika's origins. She had seriously thought they were about to attack, when Sesshoumaru stepped in. One glare from him stopped their growls, but did not lessen their stares. After that, they ushered him off and she had not seen him sense.
When she walked the castle, it was always with the knowledge that slanted eyes watched her every move. It became worst each day. To the point where she was held a virtual prisoner within the room. There was no lock on her door, though she imagined there might as well be.
Sighing once more, she sat down on her modest little desk and began reading the scroll she had taken with her from the cave. Perhaps the most aggravating thing of all, was the sudden longing for a certain Inu youkai's presence.
It was driving her insane. She could not understand why it was that she longed for his presence. There was no reason for it, and yet it was there all the same.
'Why? Why do I feel so, in need of his presence?'
A knock at her door, and a now familiar youki brought Kirika out of her musings.
A small sliver head poked its way through the door. Wide jewel like eyes searched the expanse of the modest sized room until they came to rest on Kirika's form.
Closing the door silently behind her, Rin began tip toeing across the room.
"I know you are there Rin." The child stopped mid crouch.
"How did you know Kirika-sama?" Kirika smiled at Rin's perplexed face.
"Because I have eyes on the back of my head." Kirika smiled as Rin widened her eyes in wonderment. In truth she had heard the floorboard strain under her weight, but there was no need for her know that.
"Come play with me Kirika-sama!" Rin grabbed Kirika's arm and began hauling her off toward the door. Kirika laughed at her antics.
"Where are we going to play?" Kirika asked, trying to sound completely confused. Rin simply smiled.
"In the garden! It's a beautiful summer day." Kirika merely smiled and followed after Rin as she pulled her along.

Sesshoumaru paced the floor of his room. Frustrated and annoyed. Ever sense they had arrived three days ago, he had done everything within his power to stay away from Kirika, and her strangely alluring scent.
It confused him to end, why her scent affected him so, but even more infuriating was the fact that he felt her absence strongly.
It was almost like he was missing a small part of himself. It was annoying knowing it was there, but it became infuriating when he realized it was her.
'Why? Why is she affecting me this way?' A child's laughter drew him from his thoughts. Glancing outside he saw the object of his frustration.
Kirika was sitting in the garden, watching as Rin made a crown of flowers for her. Rin laughed as she placed the white and red crown on Kirika's forehead. Kirika smiled brightly as Rin dashed off to make her a necklace.
The sun caught in her hair, making it gleam brighter as it trailed down her body. Wrapping itself around her back, and falling freely over her bare arms.
Sesshoumaru looked away. Refusing to acknowledge what his instincts told him.
Running his hand over his face, Sesshoumaru sighed. Perhaps he would take a walk that night, and try to clear his head.
