There comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away
Jack and Kate had barely talked the rest of the was driving himself crazy thinking about ways to make this all work friends didnt really know what to do.
One night when Jack was lying in his room Claire came in and sat next too him.
"Hey" She said
"Hi" Her brother replied
"Can you just explain it to me Jack,im not mad im just trying to understand why your leaving"
He looked at her with heavy eyes " I dont know,i just ..my whole life has been about fixing stuff, making sure everything is alright and taking care of everybody" he paused and ran his hand threw his hair and continued.."I dont wanna be this guy that needs the people he loves to need fixing for him to be happy"
"and dad Claire,i mean you know if i stay here hes got my whole life planned out for me and i didnt have any say in it,those are his dreams and i never got the chance to figure out what my dreams are,you know?"
Claire just nodded she could see her brother was going threw pain right now,she hugged him tight"okay,you know that whatever you do,im on your side right?"
He smiled and kissed her head " i know i love you"
"Love you too big brother" she said and left him alone again to just figured out how an empty room can be so loud you can't hear yourself think.

The next day at lunch everyone was wondering where Jack was except for Kate she knew where he went up to the school and followed the path to the gym,when she looked inside she saw Jack shooting balls and missing completly,she knew hes head was somewhere else so walked inside
"Wow and your our best player" she smirked
he let out a little laugh "yeah well ive got some stuff on my mind"
"oh yeah like what?" she tried and he decided to play along
"well i got excepted to a great university where i can be who i really wanna be" he told her
"and thats why your missing baskets" she joked
"no i think thats because i meet this amazing girl and now she wont talk to me and i dont know how to make it right"
Kate looked down "Amazing huh?" she made a joke of it
Jack played along because its the first time they felt like them again in a while"oh yeah she's smart,funny,she's tough and stubborn which i find extremly sexy" she smirked walking closer to him
"oh smooth Shephard" she said as she grabbed the ball and ran down the court
"Oh your gonna get it" he said running after her,he chased her around the gym for a while until he finally scooped her up in his arms
After their fun game of chasing each other around the gym the sat on the bench in silence.
"listen Jack,im really sorry,i know that brown is a great school and i should have been happy for you" she said sitting on his lap
"It's okay,i should have told you about it as soon as i found out"
"It was just that......well im gonna miss you" he leaned down and kissed her and she wrapped her arms around him
"I finally found this great guy and im not ready to let you go,it was selfish and im sorry"
He kissed her again" so if this really what you want than i'll come with you to the airport,but lets not say goodbye okay,lets just say see you later" her hand went up to cupp his face"Okay" he said and pulled her in for another kiss.

Now it was time to send the letters back to the schools accepting or declining thier invite to join thier school in september. Jack still hadn't sent any in he still wasnt sure what he was gonna sat there with the Ucla form and the Brown form pen in hand.
He sat there for a good 3 hours thinking about the pros and cons of each form and what they could mean for him and his a while he filled one out and eveloped it and sent it choich was made and theres no going back now.
OK So Theres Chapter 10,What school did he choose,im gonna continue on the next post but i just wanted to end this chapter like that...lmao
Chapter 11
The morning after he sent it Jack was surprised that he didnt fell and regret at all which made him certain he made the right went downstairs to be greeted by his mother.
"Morning dear" she said
"Morning Mom,I gotta get to Kate's" he ran out the door to get to Kate's house
Once at Kate's they went into her living room,Wayne wasnt there and her mom was just out to get some breakfast.
"So you sent your form to Brown last night" Kate said
Jack was quiet for a while "Jack?" Kate asked not sure if he was okay
"Im not going" he told her
"what?,not going where?" she said confused at this point
"To Brown,Im not going, i sent my letter in declining there invite last night and accepting the one to UCLA"
"Why? You said you needed to go to Brown" She was confused now was he going nutts or something
"I thought i did,I dont know what was going on with me for a minute there it all just seemed like too much and i couldnt handle it,i wanted to just run away but i have to handle it because being here and talking care of everything it's kind of who i am,i thought i needed to go away to figure out who i was but the truth is that im the guy that makes sure my little sister has everything she needs and keeps Sawyer out of trouble,im the guy thats always got your backs and i dont know what im good at besides that,but thats enough for me" He told her with a smile on his face
Kate just looked at him as if to say are you sure about this, so he went on....
"Plus i said this year was gonna be about us and that we would all get thought this year and the rest of our lives together so for me to be the first to leave,just seems stupid,i mean us being friends no matter what was the whole point.....and you your the whole point" He paused and walked over to her and started to rubb up and down her shoulders " I wanted to figure out what my dreams were Kate,and i figured out that if your not there when my dreams come true,than i dont care because they dont mean anything without you,i need you there with me when they come true and they will" he said and she knew he was sure that this was what he wanted and she was happy that she didnt have to let him go.
