Sorry for the delay guys, Thanks for the reviews, Here's a new chapter:)
Hope you like it!
After Jack's little speech they say together on the couch for a while until Jack said he had to go, he knew he had to go home and tell his mom but that wasn't what scared him, what scared him was telling his father. He'd never understand.
He walked into his house, when he walked past the living room their were no lights on just at tiny light coming in through the window from the street light, he figured everyone was asleep or at the hospital, that is until he heard his fathers voice come from the dark room…
"Jack? Come in here please" His father said sturdily
Jack walked in the room with his hands in his pockets, he hoped he'd be able to talk to his mom about all this first, maybe she could soften up his dad but that's wasn't going to happen now
He walked in seeing his father sitting in his chair facing the wall…
"Hey dad, what do you need?" He asked
"You're mother ask me to get your laundry tonight" His father said not turning around to face him
Jack nodded "OH ok thanks" he didn't really understand what this had to do with anything
He heard his father sigh loudly and he got up from his chair and held out a piece of white paper with Brown university writing on the top " and I found this in your trash can" he father said as Jack took the paper
"You want to explain what it was doing in there Jack?"
"Dad, I can explain…" he started
His father shook his head "Your explanation better be that you didn't know it fell in there until now, Jack? That's what happens right"
Jack just stood there trying to think of a way to make him understand
"Right Jack?" his father's voice was a little higher now
He just shocked his head; it was now or never "No Dad, I accepted the college of my choice"
He paused and shrugged his shoulders "It just wasn't the college of your choice Dad"
"What?" His father almost shouted "What are you thinking?"
"I was thinking that I was going to do what I thought was best for me, I was thinking I wasn't going to let you control my life anymore" His son said to him
"Jack?" Christian said almost in a pleading matter
"No Dad, you can't keep doing this, I mean my whole life has been scheduled for me, and just me, you don't do this to Claire, she wants to take a art class in college and that's okay with you, but me I have to be sent a million miles away"
"Son it's not that we want you far away, you know that" Jack shook his head "No dad I don't!"
"This isn't about being far away is it Jack?" the older man asked
"What?" Jack said confused
Christian let out a small laugh "This is about her, that girl, The Austen's daughter"
"She has a name dad, its Kate and she isn't just a girl, she's amazing and if you weren't too busy you'd know that your son is completely in love with her"
The father just shook his head "and that is why you are staying here, that's why you are throwing away your future for some girl you think you're in love with"
"Jack you don't get a second chance at getting into a college like Brown, You're so young and they're will be other girls but this, this mistake, that you can't take back "His father said trying to get through to him
"I'm not throwing anything away dad, and I don't want any other girl, I love her dad, I really do, and she isn't a mistake, I don't know why I'm tying to make you understand you don't even know her dad, so I don't expect you to know what's its like to care about someone so much, you can't live without them, because we both know that there is no one you love more then yourself and your job right dad?!" he shouted the last part
"That's not true Jack, I'm trying to do what is best for you" his father defended himself
"I can get a medical degree anywhere dad, Brown isn't the only way to get where I want to end up Dad!"
"Why can't you just believe in me, believe that I'm going to make it no matter where I go to school, have some faith in your son, just this once, but I guess I won't get your approval will I? I'll never be enough for you so I am done trying"
With that he left and went upstairs to go to sleep, leaving his father slightly stunned by his son's sudden outburst.
The man's wife who had been listening in on her husband and her son's conversation came from around the corner.
"Why didn't you tell him what is going on with you?" She asked
He just put his head in his hands "His making a mistake, he thinks he's in love but he's not"
Margo stood up "Let him make his own mistakes then Christian, and he is in love with that girl, your son is in love and you're missing it"
She walked out of the room living the man to think about all that had been said that night.
I know thier wasnt much Jate, But thier be some in the next chapter!
