After talking with Kate the day before, Claire knew she had to put her plan into action. Their parents were gone to a dinner party, so Claire walked down the hall to Jack's room.

"Jack?" She said knocking on the wooden frame

A moment passed and then she heard him reply "Yeah come in Claire"

She slowly opened the door to see Jack lying on his back on top of his bed in his sweats shouting a ball at the ceiling time after time again. "Doesn't that get boring?" She tried

He just continued to stare at the ceiling shooting the stupid ball up and catching it when it came down.

"Jack listen, I know this is hard…" She trailed off before getting interrupted by her brother

Caching the falling ball firmly "I don't want to talk about it okay" He told her before shooting the ball back up

Claire nodded sadly "That's not why I came in here" She said

"Yeah than why did you come" He asked sort of harshly

Claire looked down "Well if you're going to be mean about it never mind" She said getting off the corner of the bed where she was sitting, She felt a touch on her hand, turning around to see that it was Jack, with a sad look in his eyes

"I'm sorry, what do you need?" He asked sweetly

Claire smiled "I left my math book at Shannon's" She told him "I was wondering if maybe you could go get it for me, I don't feel so good" She told him holding her stomach

Getting off his bed and placing the ball on the table, he pulled back the drapes "Claire its pouring rain"

She gave him a shy smile "I know but I really need that book" She told him giving him hr best puppy eyes.

"Alright" He said throwing on a sweater and heading to Shannon's. As soon as Claire heard the door close she called Kate, telling her to do her part now.

When Jack arrived at his house, he saw that someone was standing in his driveway, walking closer he noticed who it was

"Kate?" He asked loudly over the rain

"What are you doing here, out in the rain?" He asked again when she didn't say anything

"I need to talk to you" She stated

Jack shook his head "No, I think you've said enough Kate"

Reaching out to grab him, he pulled away "Look I got it the first time okay? You don't need to explain it to me again" He told her trying to move passed her to the house

She moved with him blocking him from walking away "Kate, It's cold and it's raining"

"Yeah" She stated "And I could have been done by now if you would just listen to me" She said louder than before

"Why should I do that?" He said coldly

Looking at him, they were both soaked to the bone, their clothes were sticking to their bodies but through the rain she could see the hurt, and she knew she was to blame for that, and it killed her.

"Because I'm sorry, I made a mistake and you should forgive me" She told him, now letting tears fall out of her green eyes along with the rain

Jack laughed quietly because he didn't know what else to do, he was completely in love with the girl standing in front of him, his heart knew that but his head just knew that he was hurt.

"Why should I that?" He asked again repeating the same words as before

Kate took a deep breath and a step closer to him, she could feel the cold damp rain hitting her body, but now she was so close to him that she could feel his breath on her skin, and somehow that took over her body pushing the fact that she was freezing out of her mind.

"Because I love you" She screamed as loud as she could, she smiled "And you look really good standing there in the rain, and I really want to kiss you" She finished looking in his brown eyes

Jack couldn't help but smile at her words, something inside him knew she was telling him the truth or maybe it was just that he loved so much it made him believe she was, either way he wanted her in his life.

Looking down than at Kate he smiled sweetly "What are you waiting for?"

She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around his neck, his own arms wrapping around her waist puling her closer to him, as their lips touched softly at first but speeding up as the kiss went on. They both forgot about the fact that it was freezing cold and the rain was coming down on them, the heat coming from their kiss took it all away.

The next thing they knew they were in Jack's bedroom, moving towards his bed, lips still attached to one another. Jack tumbled on the bed first breaking the kiss, looking at Kate seeing the look she had in her eyes "Kate wait" He said breathless

Climbing on his lap, wrapping her legs around his waist, she brought her lips close to his "I want this" She whispered bringing her hands to the bottom of her shirt and slowly pulling it over her head.

Laying in Jack's bed, tangled in arms and legs, her head on his chest, they laid there silently.

"Why did we wait so long to do that?" She asked into his bare chest, she felt him laugh

"It was worth it" He said hands gripping her waist and bringing her up to his mouth for a gentle kiss, he smiled as he felt her own lips curve into a smile against his

Laughing as Jack heard her stomach grumble "You hungry?"

Kate nodded blushing and hiding her face in the pillow, wrapping his arms tighter around her body "Let's get you something to eat" He said kissing her again

Placing a hand on his chest she shook her head "I'll go get something downstairs, you stay in bed" She said kissing him again

Holding the sheets to her body as she flung her feet off the bed, grabbing a shirt from the floor, she tossed it over her head and then stood up

"That's my shirt" Jack said smiling

"I know" she smiled pulling the shirt up to her nose to smell it, it smelt like him. He chuckled at how cute she looked in his shirt "It looks better on you anyways" He told her smiling; she leaned down to give him one last kiss before heading downstairs to the kitchen.
