A/n: Hi everyone! I would like to thank all of you who read my story and of course special thanks to those who took their time to review. I'm trying really hard but English is not my mother tongue, hence the mistakes and slow updates. By the way, sincere request to all native speakers and those of you who mastered English better than I did – please correct me when I'm wrong. I want to be better – I won't mind, that's for sure. OK, I won't bother you any longer. Hugs! Adlytam
She still liked him – right? She had to. He was almost sure that it wasn't his imagination, well maybe a part of it was – unfortunately quite interesting part was only his imagination. But if he plays his cards nice – this is going to be his reality. At this thought House smiled and started to hum. Yeah, all he had to do, is to be persistent. This should work. He had planned everything and now he was more than ready to go to sleep. It was almost two in the morning and he was dead tired.
So, the next morning he went to the hospital late. Well, it wasn't that different than any other day but still he was late even more than usually and he really wasn't going to accept any new case. At least until this whole mess with Cameron was going to be settled.
So, first thing in the morning he went to the stop&shop and bought her a container of blackberries and some yogurt. She used to eat it all the time the first year she worked for him and stopped only recently. Old food– old Cameron, this was his way. He decided to remind her all the good moments she had at the beginning, back at the time she loved him. This was going to be fun.
When he arrived she was reading in her office. He just went in and left the food on her desk without saying a word. At first she was startled, than confused.
House, why in hell have you left those fruits on my desk? She asked.
Well, you seemed to like it, so I thought it would be nice gesture. But if it is going to cause the troubles, I'm ready to take it back.
She smiled at this – who am I to ditch free food? – she said knowing that this is probably the only version of apology she was going to get from him.
He was ready to leave, when Cameron called out after him:
"So, what you bet with Wilson?"
With this simple question, he felt like a wild animal caught in the headlights. He couldn't tell her that there was no bet. He so hoped that she won't bring last night. No such luck.
"You would like to know, wouldn't you. Well, too bad – you know bros before hos and all that".
"Right. But so you know – don't call me after midnight ever again, unless it's patient related. I get pretty cranky when I don't get my beauty sleep and I can retaliate".
"Oh, and what would you do? Would you hide all red lollipops or refuse to make coffee? Get real Cameron – you and revenge don't go in one sentence. I mean you're still a little girl, aren't you?"
"Well, if I were you I wouldn't want to be proven wrong. You know, we – little girls can look innocent, even while planning a major mischief".
"Is this a threat Dr. Cameron?"
"No, not at all, just a warning".
"OK, I'll keep this in mind, now if you excuse me I've got lives to save!"
"Oh, is it this late? I would have never guessed that it is already time for your soap House".
"Hey, you really get cranky when you're tired. I guess I'll have to remember that – for the future reference. But now I definitely have to go".
And a moment later House was heading toward coma guy room, ready for his daily dose of crap TV. Only one thought coming through his mind – his detailed plan will have to wait until Cameron returns to being her nice self.
