She hates the shadows. They remind her of death and paranoia. She always thinks that someone will come out from the shadows and hurt everyone she loves. Whenever she stood in front of a boggart, she always saw the shadows around her.
She's left wondering some days, often when she's wearing the locket, why she would come and help defeat You-Know-Who, the King of the Shadows. She would lie awake some nights, fearing even to blink for then the shadows would attack her.
On those nights, he would come in and take off the necklace. He would hang it around his own neck and stand guard so that the shadows would be held back and she could sleep peacefully.
