He had come back. She couldn't believe it. Ron was standing in front of her. Right here. He raised his arms slightly, as if asking for a hug, and she became mad. She started hitting him with every ounce of her strength. How dare he show up and then expect everything to be forgiven?
It was days later before she was ready to talk to him again. She looked up from her book and saw him staring at her.
"I'm sorry, Hermione."
She got up and walked over to him. She was still incredibly angry, but she had missed Ron dearly. Gently, he hugged her. Hermione caved in and hugged him back.
"I promise, Hermione, I'm never gonna leave again."
"I know," Hermione whispered and looked up at him."But I'm still angry." She left his embrace, walked back over to her book, and started reading once again, remaining distracted the entire time.
