I am currently working on another Kolvina-story parallel to this one, which was a poor idea, because now re-reading this I like the other one better. :D It's fine though, because this one was the first one I wrote in ages and it brought me back to writing again, however, I notice now that the other one is going to be much better and more detailed. However, I won't change this one now and I hope that you enjoy it anyway.

Have fun with yet another chapter, there will be about 3 or 4 more chapters.

"Miss Claire, please come in." Elijah had of course already heard her approaching.

"I hope I am not intruding." Davina asked politely and closed the door silently behind her. She found it amusing that Elijah was always so polite, but at the same time she didn't let it fool her, he could be just as dangerous as his brothers were.

"Not at all, what can I do for you?"

"I am going to help you find Klaus."

"And pray, why is it Miss Claire that you are helping us?"

"For one, it is because I believe that Kol would want his brother to be found, despite their differences, I believe that he still looks up to him." Elijah nodded and Davina took a deep breath before she continued. "And second, my motives are rather selfish. I found the last ingredient to the spell to resurrect Kol."

"Please, go on." Elijah nodded.

"I need Kol's ashes and the blood of two brothers. Yours and Klaus."

Elijah walked a few steps around the room. "Please forgive me, but why do you think we will simply give you blood samples?"

"That is my deal. I will help you find Klaus and in exchange you will donate a bit of your blood. One brother for another. Don't you want your little brother back?" She asked surprised.

"Kol was impulsive, foolish, angry and headstrong Why do you believe he is worthy?"

"I know he will be. Maybe not now, but he will be. He makes me stronger and he told me that I could be free and I believe him."

"What if he lied? Fooled you like he did to any of us before?"

Davina shook her head. "No, he didn't. He told me not to get involved with you in order for me to stay safe. He trained me so I would be safe without him and for what I gather from everyone who knew him, he never did anything selfless at all. He didn't push me to find the last ingredient before he vanished, he trained me in self-defence. He always wanted your appreciation and he wanted to be trusted and that is where I will start. I will start by trusting him."

Elijah nodded, obviously satisfied with her answer. "I will help you, Miss Claire. I do love all of my brothers and you remined me of someone very dear to us. Now with your help I will get my family back and I will be forever grateful for that. But I am warning you, there will be consequences, there always are. And you should know that Kol doesn't want you to get involved in this part."

"I know and I will bear the consequences. I will help you in exchange for your blood and Kol's ashes. This is my deal to make and not Kol's."

Elijah smiled approvingly. "My brother is lucky to have a friend like you and he asked me to protect you the night he brought you here."

"He did!?" She touched her heart.

"Indeed. And I will do my utmost best. Miss Claire, you may consult me any time you feel the need to do so."

Davina swallowed. Her throat was dry and her knees weak. "Thank you and it is Davina. Miss Claire makes me feel very old."

"Davina, I am Elijah. Pray, tell me how old are you if you don't mind me asking?"

"Seventeen."

Elijah smiled. "Please don't get me wrong. It's just that Kol surprised me in every sense he could have. It is rather marvellous." And he really meant what he said then. "I am very happy for him to have found you. Now, I know where Klaus hid his ashes and I am ready to turn them over to you as a sign of my trust in you."

"Thank you!"

Davina knew that it was pretty morbid to put Kol's ashes on her nightstand, but she was afraid to leave it out of her sight. It was Kol's only chance to come back. Nothing could go wrong.

That was also the reason she started to study the grimoires for a way to kill Silas.

There had to be something and she would find it!

They knew where Silas was keeping the bodies and it was only just logical that he was there as well.

There was a knock at the door and Rebekah came in. "Can I come in?"

Davina nodded. "Sure."

Rebekah smiled and closed the door behind her. "I wanted to check on you. See what you are up to." She said and said down on Davina's bed. Her glance stopped at the yearn and she frowned. "What is that?"

"Your brother." The two of them looked at each other and suddenly burst out laughing at the absurdity.

"Geez…I never ever thought that Kol would attract someone like you. Don't get me wrong, I am glad." Davina smiled. "What are you up to there?"

"I am trying to figure out how to kill Silas. It says that he had a "cure" for immortality with him and if shoved down his throat he could be killed." She frowned. "But where is this cure now?"

"It's gone." Rebekah said with a tinge of sadness in her voice.

"How do you know?"

"I was there, when Silas was awakened." She stared into nothingness as she recalled the events. "We wanted to get the cure. It was said to be a cure for vampirism, so we went looking for Silas." She laughed mirthlessly. "This doppelgänger Katherine fooled us and probably took the cure with her, but I am not sure. Kol had tried to stop us, he had warned us not to raise Silas and got killed in all the commotion."

"You wanted a cure for vampirism?"

Rebekah smiled. "I want to be human again."

"But, Rebekah, there is no cure for vampirism."

"But…"

Davina shook her head. "I am sorry, but this…" She pointed at the grimoire. "This is no cure for vampirism. It is a cure solely designed for a specific cursed traveller witch called Silas. It is to bind his magic, so he won't be able to escape his body while spelling it so that he can be killed with a special knife that will then forever hold his soul like a totem."

Rebekah looked at her and swallowed her tears as she processed. She nodded slowly. "I see."

"I am really sorry." Davina whispered as she witnessed her sadness.

"It's fine, it was foolish anyway."

They sat in silence for a moment before Davina asked. "So, this doppelgänger. Do you think she still has the cure?"

"I don't know."

"Is there a way to find her?"

"Elijah was with her once, maybe he knows."

Davina nodded. "Perfect. Now, let's rummage through Kol's stuff and look for an athame."

"Oh, hell no, I am so not going through his stuff. I don't even want to know what you will find there!" She shook herself. "Ew. I will talk to Elijah about Katherine."

Davina laughed as Rebekah quickly fled the room.

She found a beautiful athame in Kol's witchy cupboard which was almost too beautiful to put such a horrible soul in.

She took a big golden bowl and put herbs in it which she sat on fire. She mumbled a few words and then circled the athame around the bowl.

It didn't take too long and was finished with a small bang and some sparks.

Kol hated this. When he concentrated enough then he could see glimpses of Davina, but never more. He never knew! He never knew that it hurt so much to care about someone. He hated it!

Maybe Nik had been right. It was weakness and a liability to care so much. But at the same time he couldn't stop thinking about Davina. Her pretty face and her beautiful blue eyes. He wanted to be there for her, but he couldn't. He wanted to see her and at the same time he didn't. It hurt. And he hated it.

She was so miserable and he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't protect her. She needed to do that herself. He felt the agony of this torment and knew that she had to let him go.

"I finished the spell to bring Kol back, but I need to check the spell. Resurrecting someone can be very dangerous and Kol knew that. He had found a way to keep the witch performing the ritual safe, now that I tempered with it, I am scared that I did something wrong. So I need to check this. I need to talk to Kol, but I can't. I don't know how."

Josh looked at her feeling sorry and Rebekah also couldn't do more than to pull a face.

Elijah entered the room with his phone in his hand. "You were right, Katerina still has the cure."

"She does?" Rebekah asked. "Someone really has to love you and Kol!"

"She told me we could have it in exchange for her freedom."

Rebekah snorted. "Bitch!" And Elijah's look threw daggers at her.

"I kept to myself that Niklaus was missing and told her to come get the cure and speak to Niklaus for her."

"So you lied to her." Rebekah asked amused and Elijah threw another exasperated look at her.

"I do not lie Rebekah! I will talk to Niklaus once he has returned."

Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"Why does she need it for her freedom?" Davina asked.

"It's a long story, but Nik has been hunting her for 500 hundred years now."

"Your girlfriend?" Davina asked looking at Elijah who did not answer her. It was complicated after all. "You know what, I think I don't want to know…your family is…"

"Something?" Rebekah offered and Davina nodded.

"Well, Kol isn't back yet, you are still free to leave, because I am sure that he will not let you once he is back."

For a moment Davina wondered if Rebekah was threatening her and if this dysfunctional family was really something she wanted to get involved with. But then she thought about Kol. No, she wouldn't leave him.

"No, where would be the fun in that?"

"Two peas in a pot!" Rebekah said. "You and my brother, I mean!"

"I am going tonight to meet Katerina." Elijah told them.

"Do not dare to come back without that bloody cure!"

Davina grinned at her.

As she was lying in her bed she looked at the old photograph. She hadn't yet figured out how to talk to Kol. She missed him. She looked at it every night afraid to forget what he looked like.

She wanted to hold him and kiss him.

Elijah knocked at her door and approached her silently. "How are you feeling?"

"I am fine. A little shaken, but I am fine."

"I found something, I know you would like to have."

Davina frowned as he gave her a yellow page. Then she widened her eyes as she realised what she had in her hands.

"Thank you, Elijah!"

He nodded before retreating again. "I will be gone now. Stay safe."

Davina was chanting foreign words. She wasn't sure this would work, she just hoped that it did. With all her being she focused on Kol, she remembered his brown eyes, his roguish grin and the sparkle it put into his eyes. His firm arms that held her and kept her safe in his warm embrace. She needed to see him and to speak to him, but the longer she was chanting the more she lost hope that he would come.

"Kol!" She called. "Kol, I need to talk to you!" For one last time she tried to pull him over.

There was a gush of wind and suddenly Kol appeared inside the circle. She smiled and Kol did too as he realised what was going on that roguish grin she had missed so much and his eyes had this gleam in them that told her this was her Kol. The real Kol.

"God I missed you!" She smiled.

"You have no idea how badly I want to kiss you right now." He replied stepping as close to the circle line as he could.

"Me too." She nodded raising her hand and Kol mimicked her gesture, almost touching. She sighed.

"I need you to look at something and tell me if it could work." She held up a piece of paper and while Kol read it, she watched his face closely. "Would it work?"

"Davina, I appreciate you trying, but you have to let me go!"

"Kol, would it work?" She pressed.

"I am not sure!" He sounded agitated. "Maybe. You need an enormous amount of power for that and my brother, who is currently in the hands of Silas with whom you mustn't get involved! Please, darling, I need to keep you safe and right now you are destroying yourself! You cannot go on like this! You are a mere shadow of yourself." He looked at her with so much sadness in his eyes that it broke her heart.

"Kol, I need to have you back, now this could work right? I can see it in your face."

"Yes, it can, but…"

"No, I can't let go. Don't ask that of me!"

Kol hid his face in his hands and growled.

"Please!" Davina pleaded and he lowered his hands from his face that looked hard and not willing to compromise.

"You have one try, love! One! And if it doesn't work you have to abandon this mission! Promise me!"

"Kol, I love you! I can't let you go!"

Kol stopped moving and breathing. What did she just say? His chest became so heavy and something inside him broke and a thousand little needle pricks perforated his dead heart. No one had ever told him he was loved. No one. Not in a thousand years and he felt so helpless that his eyes became glassy.

"My love, you have to promise me, to live a free and happy life with or without me. I cannot let you lose your life like this!" He had never ever wanted someone this badly. But the thought of Davina being in danger because of him hurt and had him feeling incredibly frustrated, because he couldn't do anything about it.

"But…"

"Davina! Promise me!" She saw how angry he became, since it was the only way, he could let go of his feelings right now.

"Kol…"

"Just promise me, Davina!" He yelled.

"You know what? I will do no such thing! This time you will not get what you want, Kol Mikaelson! I will bring you back and you can tell me then to leave you behind if you still dare to!"

If he hadn't been this angry, he would have laughed and hugged his beautiful girl. He had certainly found his match. "Argh." He screamed and tried to calm down.

"Davina Claire, why do you have to be so stubborn!?"

"Because I want to be with you." She smiled and Kol hung his head in defeat.

"Fine, have it your way, but if you get hurt you will have to answer to me!"

"I can live with that." She smiled again and Kol shook his head.

"How are you doing this to me?" No one had ever wanted him. Everyone had always stayed far away.

"I am not doing anything."

"I cannot wait to kiss you again, Davina Claire."

"Soon, I promise."

Kol tried to smile. "Fine. Go to your family's crypt and look in the shelf on the right. There should be an urn with ashes, it's a red one with runes carved all over it. You can use it to draw power from, but under no circumstances open it! You can use it to draw power from and then you will return it as it is! Repeat it!"

Davina rolled her eyes. "A red urn on the shelf to the right. I can use it to draw power from, but I can't open it and I have to return it after the spell. Kol, what is in that yearn?"

"Please, don't ask me, darling. It is from a past I am ready to leave behind, if you'll have me." He searched her face for a second. "Are you worth being good for?"

She nodded. "No more questions asked."

"You should! You should ask so many questions and kick my arse to where no one will ever find me again."

"You still trying to get rid of me?"

"Is it working?"

"I know you have a past, but let the past be the past."

"What if it catches up?"

"Then we will deal with it."

He sighed. "I don't deserve you! And that said: stay away from Silas! Let Elijah handle him and leave it be! He is far more dangerous than you think! There are whispers on the Other Side that he wants to resurrect himself and his Amara and he needs a lot of power for that."

"I know. He wants me."

"Davina." Kol said her name breaking at the tip of his tongue into a million pieces along with his heart. "I am so sorry! You should have never gotten involved in this mess."

Before he went to sleep Josh wanted to check on Davina again to make sure that she was all right and not crying her eyes out. He knew how it felt to lose a friend and how everything seemed worse at night when everyone went to sleep and the world became quiet.

As he stepped out of his door, he watched her walking down the corridor. "Can't sleep?" He asked, but Davina didn't turn around, instead she kept walking. Josh frowned and he wondered if she had not heard him.

"Davina? Are you mad at me or something?" He jogged after her. "Hey!"

As he reached her, he noticed that she was walking with her eyes closed. "What the…? Davina?"

She kept going towards the front door.

"What's going on?" Rebekah asked who had heard them and watched from downstairs as the two of them were descending the stairs.

"I don't know! I think she is sleepwalking!" Josh waved a hand in front of her face.

"She is heading for the door." Rebekah realised.

"Should we wake her up?" Josh asked undecided.

The door suddenly flew open and a dark shadow was standing outside.

"That's a yes! Davina!" Josh grabbed her arm and tried to shake her awake. "Davina! Open your eyes!"

Outside Silas was chuckling in Kol's voice. "If I cannot come to her, she will come to me!"

Davina was still following Kol in her dream. "It is not far now, come on!" While Josh was trying hard to hold her back and Rebekah tried to close the door.

In her dream Davina looked at her bracelet that was suddenly heating up again. She frowned.

Suddenly chanting filled the air and Rebekah and Josh crumbled to the ground screaming and holding their heads.

Witches walked through the door and two took care of the vampires while a third quickly put shackles on Davina's wrists to restrain her magic.

The element of surprise is on their side which left few room for the vampires to react. They broke the vampire's necks and were gone as quickly as they had arrived.

Davina regained consciousness and screamed. She didn't know what was happening. She tried to use her magic, but she couldn't. It was as if it was gone. Solely the bracelet on her wrist pulsed angrily.

"Let go of me!" Davina screamed, but the witches dragged her away.

Elijah who had just arrived home watched how the witches had approached and then dragged Davina away.

The witches dragged Davina to the cemetery.

"You cannot keep me forever! My friends will find me!"

"No vampire can enter this cemetery! No one will find you!" Sophie hissed.

"You ratted us out to the vampires!"

"I had no choice!"

"You really want to tell me that!?"

"You cannot keep tricking girls into the ritual! It is wrong!"

"It is what we do!"

"What do you want to do now? Kill me?"

Kol suddenly appeared. "I believe that you will be coming with me."

She widened her eyes as she saw Kol. "No!"

She gasped as Kol appeared in front of her. "Darling, I missed you."

She couldn't understand it and her senses went overload. "Kol?" Tears started to form in her eyes and her heart pounded in her ears. This couldn't be real! She didn't understand.

He smiled his roguish grin at her and she stopped breathing. He looked the same as he had when he had disappeared. And for a second there, she believed in miracles and wanted to run to him. "How are you here?" Everything in her wanted to touch him and make sure that he was truly here. But he couldn't be here. He was dead!

"I came back, for you, darling!" Kol said.

"But how?" Davina frowned and all she wanted to do was run to him and hug him, but her ties held her back.

"It doesn't matter, does it!?" Kol asked. "We can be together now! Forever!"

Her eyes widened as she saw his leering eyes. That disgusting look that had never ever been in her Kol's eyes. "Silas!" She snarled and Kol's features changed from friendly to angry.

"I can be everyone and everything you want me to be." He offered. "Let me be everything to you, Davina Claire."

"No!" She squirmed and tried to wriggle out of her ties. "You cannot give me to him!"

"That was the deal."

She thought she was going to be sick. "Stay away from me!" She yelled.

"You will come with me, darling!"

As Silas grabbed her, her bracelet started to pulse and heat up. She looked at her family's bracelet she was still wearing. It looked normal, but Davina felt the heat radiating from it. She could feel the magic of the bracelet colliding with the one from her shackles.

"I believe you are free to practise magic again." Silas told the witches. He dragged Davina with him and he knew it wouldn't be long anymore now. He would slowly wear her down until she would do his bidding. He would appear to her as her lover every day until she wouldn't be able to differentiate between them anymore. It was diabolic.

Outside of the cemetery were the vampires waiting for them to get out.

"Leave the girl!" Marcel demanded. Elijah had filled him in about the Silas problem, so he wasn't surprised to see Kol's face.

Silas just laughed. "Why should I? She is coming with me and there is nothing you can do about it."
