"HE REPORTED CALEB TO THE WITCH HUNTERS ABOUT EVELYN AND THAT HE WAS PRACTICING WITCHCRAFT! PHILIP BETRAYED HIS OWN BROTHER!"

Amity, Luz and King heard that confession. Luz was speechless, Amity's mind was blank as she held her hand up to her mouth. King just sat there trying to process why someone would do such a thing to their own family.

" How can someone be that cruel?" Luz finally spoke.

" I don't know… I know you told me about how Philip was when you met him, and we all knew how he was as Belos… but to do something like that. I don't have words. Should we tell Gus and Willow ? "

" No, we should leave it up to Hunter. He's the one going through this."

" I agree, I just wish there was something we could do to help." Their attention turned to the stairway as they heard footsteps coming down the stairs. They saw Eda who looked deeply hurt by the expression she was wearing, she came into the living room and took a seat on the chair, closing her eyes and rubbing the bridge of her nose.

" Eda, is Hunter okay?" Eda sighed and looked over at the two concerned teens and Titan sitting on the couch.

" Eh, he passed out , I brought him to my room. Owlbert and Waffles are with him. So he will be okay for a bit. "

" Eda… " Luz said, looking over at her with tears in her eyes.

" Awe dang, you heard him didn't you? " Luz and Amity nodded, Eda sighed. "In all honesty I'm not surprised, knowing who Philip became I wouldn't have put it past him to do something like that. Still doesn't make it any easier though." Luz got off of the couch and walked over to the chalkboard and crossed out one of the questions.

" Well at least we know how much of the Wittebane Brothers story is true." Luz said sadly, her heart was hurting for Hunter and for Caleb.

Meanwhile up stairs, Hunter opened his eyes, to realize he wasn't in his room. He felt himself laying on straw and other material instead of his usual mattress. He heard a soft hooting. He looked down and noticed Edas Palisman sleeping on his chest cuddled up next to waffles. He couldn't help but smile at the two birds. His mind started to wonder why he would be in Edas room. The last time he was in here was about four months ago when a really nasty panic attack reared its head, after having a nightmare… he couldn't recall what it was about all he knew was when he woke up, he was in her room and his head felt like it just got slammed against a wall. He laid there and wondered what caused him to have such a bad attack that he passed out, especially since he has been pretty good as of late. Then he remembered the most recent memory, he sat up Immediately accidentally waking the two Palisman sleeping on his chest who ended up rolling on to his lap, letting out a surprise chirp and hoot respectfully. The sounds were enough to distract his mind, as he looked down.

" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." Hunter apologized, lightly scratching them on the cheek. The two Palisman responded and nudged his finger. He took a deep breath and looked at the window, only to realize he saw someone standing there, only they looked translucent, wearing a white ragged shirt, and green overalls, with ash blonde hair pulled back, he noticed a dagger floating above his head, which he thought was odd. He noticed the figure had round ears, at that moment he realized who was standing there.

" Caleb!?" He yelled, the figure turned his head and looked over at him, Hunter was taken aback, it was the same reflection he saw in the mirror, Belos wasn't lying he really did look the most like him. Caleb's spirit smiled at Hunter.

" It's nice to hear someone else's voice address me after all this time. I'm glad you are able to finally see me Hunter." He was speechless, the spirit of Philip's older brother was standing right there. After recovering from the initial shock he was about to speak but before he could he saw the door open and he saw Eda standing there. She must have heard him shout and came to check on him. He looked by the window again and Caleb's spirit was gone. He was so confused, was that just a waking dream? Was it just his imagination? Or, was Caleb's spirit really just standing there a few seconds ago?

" You okay Hunter?" He sighed running his hand through his hair.

" Uh yeah, sorry weird dream about Caleb." He lied, not really wanting to tell Eda about what he just saw. She just looked at him, she knew he was lying. When he would lie she noticed his body subconsciously became more stiff. She assumed it was a learned response in an attempt to protect himself from Belos's wrath, Incase his lie was seen through. She assumed it rarely worked.

" Hunter, you're lying. What's going on ?" Hunter looked down at the ground

" Am I really that bad at it? " he said in a guilty tone.

" Hunter no offense, but you couldn't lie your way out of a wet paper bag." He looked over at her confused as to

what she was talking about.

" It's a phrase from the human realm. What's going on Blondie? " She said, sitting down next to him. He tried to figure out what to say, because he knew. She wasn't leaving until he told her.

" Eda, can spirits show themselves to people?"

" That's a tough question kid, I honestly have no idea. You could ask Luz I mean she did kinda talk to the Titan and he was dead."

" That's different though. "

" I am wondering, why do you ask? "

" Before you came in here, I think I saw Caleb's spirit. I called out his name and he looked at me and I heard his voice in his mind." Eda just looked at him

" That's Interesting, I don't know what to tell you. but one thing I do know for sure is don't think too hard about it right now, and try to get some sleep. You need to rest that big brain of yours. You have had a very rough night so far. Do you wanna stay here tonight or do you feel comfortable going back to your room? "

" I wanna go back to my room."

" Okay, if you need me, don't hesitate to wake me. " Hunter nodded, and got up Waffles noticed her witch leaving and she flew over to his shoulder. Hunter closed the door behind him and made his way back to his room, his mind felt foggy and he had a splitting headache, he could tell he was beyond the point of exhaustion. As soon as he got to his room he made his way to his bed and collapsed falling asleep into a dreamless state a welcome reprieve from the past few nights.

What seemed only like a few minutes he opened his eyes to the sun shining directly into his face, he could feel his head still pounding, as he sat up. He felt absolutely awful. He hoped Eda had a spare healing potion laying around to help with his nagging headache. He rolled himself out of bed, and walked over to his closet, he threw on his brown tunic and black pants, he took a brief look in the mirror, he was happy to see he didn't have any circles under his eyes, but he did look like he was very unrested. He looked behind him, half way hoping he would see Caleb's spirit again, so he could prove to himself what happened last night wasn't some odd dream, but he didn't.

" It must have been my imagination." he said to himself He turned and saw waffles was still sound asleep on his pillow, and he didn't have the heart to wake her, so he opted to take a picture to send to Willow later.

He opened the door and made his way downstairs,then froze when he saw Willow Gus and Amity were there sitting on the couch while Luz was in front of the chalkboard; He didn't realize he slept that late, he felt kinda embarrassed he hated keeping people waiting for him.

" Morning guys. What time is it?"

" It's almost noon, we came over a little early. Luz told us you had an interesting night. We didn't want to wake you." Willow smiled

" Oh, Luz you didn't - "

" No I didn't, I wanted you too." she said shaking her head

" Okay so let me see if Eda has an extra healing potion to help with my headache, and I will be in. " He smiled, walking Into the kitchen, he searched through Edas potion cabinet, by his luck he found one. He pooped off the cork and chugged it, no matter how many times he had drunk one, it still was disgusting. he had to still tell his brain to not gag, on the strange syrup-like consistency once he swallowed it he got a glass of water to attempt to chase the aftertaste out of his mouth.

He made his way back to the living room and took a seat in the chair. He felt the potion start to take effect as the pounding sensation dissipated. He looked over and saw everyone was patiently waiting on him to tell them about last night. " So where do you want me to start?"

" How about at the beginning, so Luz said you went to check out Caleb's room, did you find anything?"

" Not much except for a deer Palisman. That Caleb carved for Philip to give to him as a gift. I'm assuming so Philip would have a companion that reminded him of Caleb when he went to live in the demon realm."

" Caleb was gonna move there!?" Gus shouted.

" Caleb carved Philip a Palisman?! " Willow said shocked

"Yeah Caleb carved him one. Caleb wanted to be a part of Evelyn's life and her world, because he fell in love with magic and most importantly he fell in love with her. He tried his best to convince Philip, by showing him how beautiful magic could be. He really wanted Philip to join him in the demon realm, more than anything and Instead…" He stopped when he thought about the memory from last night. The pain and betrayal he felt, as he stared at Philip standing there in front of the angry mob.

" Hunter? If you need to take a break you can." Willow smiled at him. He looked over at her and took a deep breath.

" No I don't, as I was saying, as you all can guess Philip took the news soooo well, that he reported his brother to the witch hunters,for practicing Witchcraft and being with Evelyn." Willow and Gus just sat there. Amity looked away as did Luz, even though they heard it last night, it still stung.

" Wow, that is uh-" Gus really didn't have words for what he just heard.

" I'm not surprised. I mean he went as far as to create clones of his dead brother. He also used you Luz to meet The Collector, used The Collector to teach him the draining spell that he used to nearly wipe out all witches, and I couldn't do anything to stop it! I just stood there and watched it Happen!" Hunter yelled, standing up. Everyone just looked at him.

" Hunter? It's not your fault. You had no idea what Belos was doing or planning.." Gus said reassuringly

" Hunter, you spoke in the first person at the end there. You did that yesterday too… when we were in the kitchen. You said "I'm sorry Philip"to me. "

" I did? " He felt on edge. He didn't know what to think, as he sat back down in the chair behind him, he felt his knees get weak. At first he was only experiencing the memories, then he started feeling Caleb's feelings in the memories. Now he's starting to speak in the first person sometimes As if he was Caleb. He thought back to that night in the cemetery when Belos had possessed him. " Is Caleb's spirit doing the same thing? Is that why I could see him last night? I had no control when Belos possessed me. I felt like I was fighting against my own body when he did. I don't feel like that, right now. On the other hand Caleb isn't malicious so would I even be able to tell!?" Everyone could see he was starting to get wrapped up in his mind again. Luz walked over to him and placed her hand on his shoulder, taking the risk that it wouldn't freak him out, luckily the sudden touch broke his thoughts and he was able to finally speak again. " Thank you, Luz."

" No problem," she winked. He took a few moments to steady himself.

" Hunter, what else happened last night?" Hunter took a deep breath and sighed.

" So last night… I saw Caleb's spirit , I think? I don't know if it was a waking dream or if I was just imagining but.. he was happy I was able to see him..and he smiled at me. And the fact I just said something in the first person… What if it's the same thing as when Belos possessed me? I never want to feel like that again." he said grabbing his head, Luz took his hands in hers and he looked over at her.

" Hey, Caleb is not Philip, I think that's pretty clear, and if you saw Caleb's spirit, maybe he's trying to tell you something? Or show you something? I mean the Titan showed me Glyph magic and I did talk to him when I technically died… he was stuck in the Space In-between maybe Caleb is the same?"Hunter looked at her, her point made sense. Caleb wasn't like Philip, so there was no way he would use him like that.

" I mean that could be the case, but Caleb is dead. And from what you described it seemed like the Titan was in the same state as you were. " Luz shrugged

" Hey, who knows how exactly the afterlife works. But what I do know is we will figure out why this is happening." She said confidently.

" Besides you have all of us with you! We will do whatever it takes, and go as far as it takes to figure this out! " Gus yelled, hopping up on the couch, and did an over exaggerated wave, with a glint of determination in his eyes.

" We faced Belos, we can do this easily!" Amity yelled, making a fist.

" I mean we figured out a way back here from the human realm so we can totally answer these questions. " Willow said, winking at him.

Hunter smiled at his friends, despite everything he did to them, when he was Golden Guard, he was honored they forgave him. He was so happy that after the life he knew crumbled on top of him, his friends were there to help free him underneath the rubble that was crushing him.

" You're really lucky to have friends like that." He heard Caleb's voice once more in his mind coming from behind him, he turned his head and standing there once more was Caleb's spirit smiling at him.

" Hunter, what are you looking at?" He turned his head to look at the willow.

" You can't see-?" He turned his head again and he was gone.

" See what?" Gus questioned.

" Uh nothing, sorry I thought I saw something. Anyway, what should we do now?" The group wanted to push Hunter on what he saw, because like Eda they could tell he was lying, but they decided to leave it as is.

" Well I did bring all the stuff for using the memory tweezers. We could try that first or we could head over to the remains of the castle, it's what you want to do Hunter."

" Uh let's explore the remains of the castle first, I need to get out of here for a bit, If you all are good with that? "

" Sounds good to us. " Luz said as everyone else nodded.

" Alright let me grab my bag and waffles. She's still sleeping." Hunter said, getting up and heading up the stairs. Willow walked over to Luz and quietly said.

" Hunter was 100% seeing Caleb's spirit a few moments ago. I think you were on to something earlier, maybe he's only able to show himself to certain people?"

" I don't know, but he really is a bad liar." Luz laughed.

"Alright I'm ready to go." Hunter said, standing there with Waffles already in her staff form.

" onwards to the castle!" Luz yelled excitedly, as the rest of the teens said all running out the door, Hunter smiled before following, Caleb was right he really was lucky.
