One day Ace is taking a walk alone and passes by a bridal shop. On a whim she decides to go in. "Do you have an appointment Ma-am?"

"What," Ace looks towards the woman at the desk. "Oh sorry no. I am not engaged or anything. I'm not even sure I am ready to get married."

"I see that look all the time on blushing brides to be, you are ready."

"I am?"

"Yes, you are, and it seems like you found a dress that you like too."

"It is a good dress."

"You want to make an appointment to try on a dress, actually I am going to check my book right now." She goes back to the computer. "You are in luck, we have no appointments for the day. If you want to try on the dress."

"Umm, sure I would like to try it on."

"Right this way," the worker takes her back to a room and helps her put on the dress. At the time Maria walks past and she swears she sees Ace going to try on the dress.

"Wow," Ace says as she sees herself in the dress she starts to tear up seeing herself in the simple white dress.

"You should sit to see how well it would be at a reception."

"We have talked about us getting married and that we don't want a typical wedding."

"Really?"

"Yes, it is his second marriage and my first and I have never been one for big parties."

"Ok, do you still like the dress?"

"I love it and it's a perfect fit."

"So you know it's 2000 pounds."

"Ok," Ace's eyes go wide.

"Do you still want it?"

"I do." Ace pays for the dress, "is there anyway I can leave this here until I can pick it up. I am meeting my boyfriend somewhere to eat, in" she looks at her watch, "5 minutes."

"You can pick it up tomorrow."

"Thank you, now I just need to think of a place to hide it." Ace hurries to the restaurant to see Graham sitting with Ryan, Maria, Yaz, Tegan and Nyssa. Maria gives her a look over. Ace gives Graham a quick kiss, "hello everyone."

"They heard I was meeting you here and insisted that they would come. We haven't had a family meal for a while, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem."

"It's not one at all." She smiles as she sits down. After they ordered Ace gets up and and heads to the bathroom and Maria follows her.

"How long have you two been engaged?"

"We are not engaged?"

"Weren't you just in a dress shop?"

"Shh, yes I was. I was just walking to meet up with Graham and happened to see a dress."

"Did you get it?"

With a smile growing on her face, "yes, I did."

"Good."

"Now I just need to talk to Graham."

"I will get Ryan to change his mind about coming over."

"Thank you."

"Do you need somewhere to keep the dress?"

"I do."

"I just started renting a place with Rani, you can keep it in my closet."

"Thank you."

"Of course," Maria heads back and Ace uses the bathroom.

"Are you feeling ok?"

"Yes, why."

"You were in there for a while."

"I really had to go."

"Ok."

"Why didn't you go before you got to the table then," asks Tegan.

"I wanted to see Graham."

"You see him everyday."

"I know there are times you just want to see Nyssa, like yesterday when you surprised her at A Charitable Earth."

"She has a point there sweetie."

"Ok." Their food arrives, no one notices how Ace looks at Graham's finger, but they do notice that she is silent for most of the meal.

"Ace, are you sure you are ok?"

"Why do you ask Nyssa?"

"You have been quiet today."

"I have?"

"More than usual."

"I just have things on my mind."

"Want to share?"

"It's ok." Graham looks at her and she just smiles brightly at him.

"She is ok."

"I am right here I think I would know if I am ok, in fact I am better than ok."

"There is that spunk that I love," he grabs her hand and kisses it. They don't notice Aaron standing there with a woman.

"So you want me to go up there."

"His name is Graham."

"The one that just kissed the ladies hand?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"He moved on from my mum."

"Did he cheat?"

"No, she has been dead since 2019."

"Then let him be happy."

"That is what my son says, he is the young man over there." Aaron ponts to Ryan.

"Your son accepts it?"

"Yeah, even though he was closer to her."

"I say leave them alone then."

"What?"

"Everyone over there looks very happy."

"I."

"What you need to do is get to know her."

"I don't want to."

"Then leave them alone." The woman walks away as Aaron just sits there not happy.

Yaz looks up, "isn't that your dad Ryan?" Ace, Ryan and Graham all look up.

"It is, the last time I saw him was when he was trying to break up these two," he gestures to Graham and Ace.

"So don't invite him over."

"No," they get back to After the bill is paid they all go home, Maria decides to stay the night with Ryan.

Ace and Graham arrive back home. "Can you tell me what was on your mind tonight?" Ace brings her hands to rest on Graham's as they sit on the couch.

"I am ready."

"Ready?"

"I am ready to be your wife."

Graham's face goes as bright as the sun, "really."

"Yes." Graham leans over and lays his lips against hers. "I love you and can't wait to be your husband."

"I am looking forward to being your wife too." They share another kiss.

"Do you want to do a long engagement?"

"Why slow down now?"

"What do you mean?"

"Let's get our rings, you have a suit, what made me realize is that I saw the perfect dress. There were no appointments there that day, so I was able to buy it after trying it on. It was a perfect fit."

"When did you find a dress?"

"Today."

"Is that why you were distracted?"

"Part of it, Maria saw me heading into the backroom."

"Was she in there?"

"No, it was only me and one employee."

"This means we have our two witnesses."

"We do," they share a smile.

"Though you know that your two best friends will not be happy."

"I will tell them I only wanted two people there, to create as little fuss as possible. Maria saw me picking out the dress walking past the shop and Ryan is your Grandson."

"Can we see if Ryan and Maria are free this coming weekend?"

"We can." Graham gets out his phone, "wait Graham," Ace gives him a kiss. "Is there anything else we will need to do?"

"We need to get a marriage license, it will take a couple weeks to get everything back though,"

"Monday?"

"Monday, let's see if we can both do a half day."

"I know I can, you are still technically freelance."

"So I can too."

"That means in a few months we can get married."

"We can."
