Saiyans of Jura
"Ooh, it's so lively here today." Milim said, walking around the town square with Mina at her side.
"Isn't it? The town's usually busy with all sorts of shops, and other stores, not to mention the Goblin Riders that patrol the streets." Mina smiled. "Hard to believe it's been nearly two years since we first came to this town when it was nothing but a run down goblin village."
"It's certainly grown so much since then." Eri's muffled voice said.
"By the way Milim." Mina said.
"What's up?" The Dragonoid asked.
"For exactly, how long do you intend on keeping Eri inside you with the Rebirth skill?" Mina asked, placing her hand on Milim's still bulging pregnant belly. "You've been in Tempest, for nearly six weeks now."
"I'll let her out, when I'm ready to head back to my nation." Milim smiled, while Eri pushed out from within her.
"I am starting to get a little cramped in here Milim." Eri said. "Think you could let me out sometime soon? At least for a little bit?"
"Aw, but I like having you this close to me." Milim said. "Hey where's Kaen?"
"He's with Rimuru, checking up on Vesta's progress with the Full Potions." Mina stated.
~Kaen & Rimuru~
"Let's take a look at your progress Vesta." Kaen said, as he and Rimuru stood with the former Minister in his lab.
"This is one of Minister Rimuru's potions." Gabiru said, holding up a gelatinous potion. "99% of its composition is extracted from Hipokute herbs. You can drink it down, or apply it directly to the wound for instant recovery. Behold, the Full Potion!"
"Mmhmm." Rimuru nodded.
"To contrast that, Dwarven techniques only allow us to create potions with a 98% healing affect. The potions we make, are known as High Potions. A mere 1% may seem small, but it makes a big difference when it comes to potency." Vesta said.
"Sorry, hold that thought Vesta." Kaen said, as his Scouter Shades began going off. "This is Kaen."
"My Lord, you must get down to Town Square right away, we need you for an emergency." Rigur's voice said, sounding rather full of concern.
"I'm on my way." Kaen stated. "Sorry, but there's an emergency in town I'm needed for. Think you can handle the rest of this on your own Rimuru?"
"I'll leave a full report on your desk once I'm done here." Rimuru said. "Just leave everything to me."
"Vesta, sorry but I gotta go."
"No need to apologize. If you're needed, then go." Vesta said.
"Right."
Kaen turned for the open door, and began running through the tunnels, before his feet left the air, and he began flying with his fists out in front of him. Flying out of the caves, Kaen made his way to the Town Square, where he found a crowd gathered, as well as Rigur kneeling next to Rigurd, and Mina.
"What happened here?" Kaen asked.
"Oh, Lord Kaen." Rigurd said, looking up at Kaen to show half his face had been melted off. "Thank goodness you're here."
"Rigurd. What the hell happened, are you feeling all right?" Kaen questioned.
"Fear not My Lord, for it is but a scratch."
"The hell it is." Kaen hissed. "Mina, feed him a Senzu Bean."
"Right." Mina said.
"So, I'm assuming you're the one in charge of this town?"
Kaen looked up from Rigurd, to see four visitors in dark violet armor, all of them Lycanthrope.
'A Bovine, a Monkey, a Dog, and probably a feline based Lycanthrope. These guys must be responsible for what happened to Rigurd, and causing a disturbance.' Kaen thought. "An' what if I were to say I am? What seems to be the problem here?"
"I am one of Demon Lord Carrion's Three Beastketeers, Phobio the Black Leopard Fang." He said. "Of all our masters Beastketeers, I'm the strongest one."
"I highly doubt you're the strongest of the three." Kaen said, as Rigurd got back to his feet. "But I assume if you're claiming to be Demon Lord Carrion's soldiers, you're from the Beast King of Eurazania I take it?"
"Joke all you want, but we are indeed from Eurazania." Phobio said. "Nice town you got here. Fit to be ruled by the Beast King, don't you think, how about it?"
"Surely you jest." Rigurd said, being the first to respond to Phobio's statement.
In a flash, as Phobio had crossed the distance and threw a flaming fist at Rigurd, Kaen kicked upward, hitting Phobio's arm and forced the attack off to the side, with the fire being sent off in the distance.
"Rigurd, I'd appreciate it if you let me do all the talking from here on." Kaen said.
"Yes My Lord." Rigurd said.
"Oh, and make sure Milim doesn't interfere. She just got some new clothes and I don't want them to get dirty. An' she's still carrying Eri after all." Kaen stated.
"Right." Rigurd agreed, running back to the crowd who'd gathered, and informed Milim of the situation.
"Mina go with him." Kaen said.
"But Kaen…"
"Don't worry, I can handle this chump, no problem." Kaen said. "Trust me, everyone's safe now, because I am here." He stated with his reassuring smile.
"Of course." Mina said, kissing his cheek, before heading back to wait with Rigurd, and Milim.
"Now, I don't take too kindly to people hurting the citizens of my town." Kaen exclaimed, looking back at Phobio as they stared one another down intently. "So I'm only gonna say this once. Get out of my Nation, and you can leave without any broken bones."
"Now you must be the one who jests. There is no way I'm leaving a perfectly good town like this to be taken over by another Demon Lord." Phobio said.
"Listen, I'm willing to make a non-aggression pact with Carrion, hell even a treaty to make our Nations allies, but if you persist on trying to rule over me and my people, you'll make an enemy of someone you don't wanna piss off." Kaen said.
"I'd like to see you try little man." Phobio said, getting up in Kaens face.
"Have it your way!" The Saiyan exclaimed.
(Cue Music… Ain't no rest for the wicked: Cage the Elephant)
Without saying another word, Kaen swung his leg around in a spinning back kick, and hooked it around Phobio's neck, before thrusting it down, and slamming the Black Leopard Fangs face into the paved cobblestone. This sudden act caused the other three to look at him in shock, before he looked at them, and gave them the, come and get some, hand gesture, while taking on a martial arts stance.
"That's Monkey Style of Kung Fu." Mina said.
"Is that supposed to be important?" Rigurd asked.
"Kung Fu is an ancient and powerful fighting technique where we're from. But Monkey style, is one of the top three deadliest, and hardest styles to master." Mina said.
"Wow." Milim said in awe.
The Monkey Lycanthrope charged at Kaen, intent on finishing this and getting payback at him, for what Kaen had done to Phobio. However, before he could even do anything to the Saiyan, Kaen disappeared from his view, before suddenly reappearing in front of the Monkey Man, with his elbow deep in his opponents stomach, knocking him out.
"Damn, an elbow strike to the gut." Mina said.
"I wanna see, I wanna see." Eri said from her place inside Milim's belly.
"Quit moving around in there so much." Milim said.
Kaen allowed for the monkey man to fall to the ground, before he moved his head to the left, evading a strike from the Bovine woman, and with a swing of his leg, kicked her right in the face, his leg grazing her chest momentarily as he moved. As the woman flew back, Kaen disappeared once more, before reappearing behind her, and with another kick, sent her skyward.
"I'm not finished with you yet." Kaen said, taking to the air and kicking her in the back once more.
"What's he doing up there?" Rigurd asked.
"I don't know, but it looks super fun." Milim said. "I wanna join in to."
"Not as long as you're carrying Eri you won't." Mina stated.
Up in the air, Kaen appeared above the bovine woman, before slamming his fists down on her stomach at an angle, and sent her falling towards the forest outside of town, to prevent further property damage from being done.
Falling back down to the ground bellow, Kaen landed on the head piece of the fountain, before flipping forward and landing on his feet. Twisting around, Kaen moved to the side, before stepping back, as the Dog Lycanthrope came charging at him, and swung his claws out at the Saiyan.
"You're fast, bet that's do to your size." Kaen smirked.
The Dog just growled at him, before he leapt at Kaen, and the Saiyan brought his arms up to block the Dogs claws, before releasing a massive wave of air pressure that sent the Dog falling back and landing in the fountain.
(End Song…)
"That takes care of that." Kaen said, stepping back in front of Phobio as he picked himself up. "You ready to settle this peacefully now?"
Phobio just looked at Kaen, before clenching his fists, and igniting them with flames.
"Hell no!" He exclaimed, swinging his fist at Kaen, only for the flames to blow past the Saiyan, causing his eyes to widen in realization. "I'm taking you down, one way or another."
Kaen quickly turned back to look at Mina, his eyes wide with fear as the young woman, heavy with child, pushed Milim and Rigurd out of the way, before she was hit. The Saiyans pupils shrank in horror, as the smoke rose from the impact. Motionless, Kaen watched as the smoke dissipated from the attack, and he gasped when he saw Mina lying there on the ground, covered in severe third degree burns.
"Mina." Kaen said, short of breath.
"Lady Mina." Rigurd called out, as he and Milim returned to her side.
"No, no, no, no." Milim said, her anger rising.
"Hahaha. I knew if I took out your spouse, you'd be nothing but an empty shell of a man." Phobio said, unaware of what he'd actually done, as Kaen's heartbeat, rang out in his ears.
"Lord Kaen, please keep ahold of yourself." Rigurd said, knowing what this was doing to him.
"Phobio you jerk." Milim said in anger. "She's pregnant, how could you do that you asshole?"
"Mama?" Eri asked, from within Milim's belly.
Kaen grit his teeth, with his fists clenched hard, as his nails drew blood from his palms.
"So, what do you gotta say for yourself now?" Phobio questioned, swinging his leg to kick Kaen in the side of the head.
Phobio's attack was stopped, when Kaen caught the kick, and gripped down hard on it. Looking back over his shoulder, Kaen showed Phobio his eyes were a burning crimson red, as he was fueled with an anger that no one could quench.
"It was at this moment, Phobio knew…" Rigurd began, as he could see the fear on Phobio's face. "He fucked up."
Kaen let out a roar of anger, before he threw Phobio forward over his shoulder, and into the ground. Lifting the Black Leopard Fang up again, Kaen continued to beat Phobio like a wet rag into the ground, without mercy, before he threw him down extremely hard, causing the ground to tremor under his feet.
"What's going on here?" Rimuru questioned, managing to make his way into the crowd, before he saw Kaen. "What happened to piss him off so…"
The Slime taken human form stopped, when he saw Mina lying there on the ground, one of her arms cradling her belly protectively.
"Great Sage, appraise Mina's condition." Rimuru thought.
"Notice, both Mina and her unborn children are still alive, but require immediate medical attention if that is to remain the outcome." Great Sage said.
"Rigurd, Lady Milim step aside." Rimuru said, pushing the two of them out of the way.
"Minister Rimuru." Rigurd gasped.
Taking three Full Potions from his storage, Rimuru had Mina drink them all, to ensure the survival of her and her unborn children. Mina's body was enveloped in a bright light, that illuminated the area, before she was fully healed, and slowly began to sit up.
"Easy, you were hurt pretty bad." Rimuru said. "Do you feel like anything is off?"
"No, I feel completely fine. Better even." Mina said.
"That's good." Rimuru stated. "Now, we may need your help in getting him to calm down." He said, pointing to his left.
Mina looked to where Rimuru was pointing, and gasped when she saw Kaen mercilessly laying the hurt on Phobio.
"No, please I'm sorry, have mercy." Phobio cried out, as Kaen held the Lycanthrope over his head by two of his limbs, and began pulling hard on them. "I'm sorry, please let me go and I'll never do anything like this to you or your nation again."
"Kaen stop." Mina called out.
Kaen, still enraged with pure wrath, looked to Mina as she'd called his name, before his expression began to soften, and his eyes slowly returned to normal, as he saw Mina, standing there perfectly healthy.
"Let them go. I'm okay, I'm alive." Mina said.
Kaen dropped Phobio to the ground, before he began stepping towards Mina. He couldn't believe she was standing right in front of him, before she reached up her hand, and cupped his cheek in her palm.
"It's really me babe." Mina said.
Kaen's eyes began to tear up, before he fell to his knees, and hugged Mina at her waist, pressing his forehead against her belly, as he was happy all three of them, were alive and well.
"I know, it's okay." Mina said softly as she began to comfort him. "I'm still here. I'm still, here."
~Afterwards~
"So now that we're all healed, and no one's dead. I'd like for you to explain to me, why you thought it was a good idea to just come in and try intimidating us into submission?" Kaen questioned, sitting at the head of the table with Rimuru, Rigurd, Shion, and Benimaru behind her, while Milim was off to the side next to Mina, both eating their sizable lunches.
"Why should I have to answer to a pathetic weakling like you?" Phobio questioned.
"Need I remind you, I was seconds away from tearing off your limbs for nearly killing my wife and unborn children, before my wife calmed me down? So if you call reacting in anger the way I did to what you had done to my family, weakness, then yeah I am weak, and I'm proud of it!" Kaen exclaimed, his miasma of anger an overwhelming tidal wave that swallowed up the miasma Rimuru and the others were giving off. "Besides, this act of aggression you've shown, as well as an attempt on my family's life, has been a clear justification to insight a war with Carrion, and it's a war I would be glad to start and finish if you don't explain yourselves, right now."
"We don't know Demon Lord Carrion, but depending on how you behave, his people could become your masters enemies. Do you really wanna be responsible for pissing off the entire Great Forest of Jura, and starting a war?" Rimuru questioned.
There was a tense moment of silence, as Phobio swallowed hard, his nerves on end after the beating he took from Kaen. However there was one thing he could say with confidence.
"Don't be so arrogant. I'll admit you're strong, strong enough to take out all of us no question. But if you think you're strong enough to go up against all of Eurazania, then you're delusional. Lady Milim hanging around here, must have given you a fat head." Phobio stated.
"Watch it jerk. I don't take kindly to people insulting my besties family, and you're lucky I don't rip your heart out for trying to kill her mom." Milim said angrily.
"Stand down Milim." Kaen said, looking back at her over his shoulder. "You're carrying your besty inside that belly of yours remember? Can't have you go risking her safety while she's in there."
"Listen to him Milim." Mina said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Right." Milim said, before eating more of her sandwich.
"Now, it's true that I'm probably no match for Carrion, at least right now. But it's also true that I rule over more then 35% of the Great Forest of Jura!" Kaen exclaimed. "This is your last warning, so you'd better start singing a different tune, or there will be war. So I'll ask one more time. Why did you come here?"
Phobio flinched at hearing that, before caving in with a sigh of annoyance, and his three companions showing an equal amount of disdain, as well as fear towards the Saiyan. They'd all seen what he was capable of, so it stood to reason, he could quite possibly go toe to toe with Carrion, if he wished it.
"We came to this dumb town on Lord Carrion's orders." Phobio said. "He wants all the Majin here to serve under him."
"So he's wanting all of us, who use magic, to serve under him to increase the strength of his forces." Kaen sighed. "I've heard enough. You can leave."
"Are you sure Kaen?" Rimuru asked.
"They attacked, and nearly killed your wife and unborn children." Shion said.
"They did, but no one died, Mina and the children are okay, and property damage was at best a minimum." Kaen stated. "Besides, it's not like we could hold them here even if we wanted to. We don't have any prisons capable of such a thing, and doing so would give Carrion his own justifications to declare war on us. Plus, I want all of them present, to deliver a message to him from me."
"An' what message would that be?" Phobio asked fearfully.
"Tell Demon Lord Carrion that if he wants to talk, then we can choose a date and we'll speak with him at that time!" Kaen exclaimed. "However if our town receives any more hostile or forceful visitors on his orders, then he'll have destroyed any chances for peaceful negotiations, it will be taken as a declared all out war between our Nations."
~The Following Day~
"You sure you're doing all right Mina?" Kaen asked, rubbing lotion on Mina's belly.
"Kaen, I'm doing just fine." Mina smiled, leaning back against the couch. "But I am enjoying this pampering though."
"Hey, what about me? Don't I get any lotion rubbed on my belly?" Milim asked, lifting her shirt to reveal her own pregnant belly.
"Relax you big cry baby." Kaen chuckled. "I'll rub lotion on your belly in a moment. But my wife takes priority."
"Eri's been kinda quiet in there for a while." Mina said. "Is she doing okay in there? I know yesterday was scary, but it's not like her to be all shut in and reserved like this. I'm starting to get a little worried."
"She's been sleeping a lot more these past few days." Milim said, rubbing her belly where Eri kicked. "I think I'm reaching my limit on how long I can keep her in there safely."
"Then you'd best let her out before too long." Kaen said.
"Right." Milim stated. "But first, I want that belly rub."
"You are so needy."
"Lord Kaen." Shion said, coming into the office.
"What is it Shion?" Kaen asked.
"Gobta and the Wolf Riders are back with a large haul for dinner." Shion said. "They also came back with a couple groups of humans. One from Falmuth and the other from Blumund. Both parties were sent to investigate our town, and Nation."
"Blumund?" Kaen asked.
"Isn't that the Kingdom Kaval, Gido, and Eren are from?" Mina asked.
"I think it is." Kaen said, before looking back to Shion. "Where are they now?"
"In the meeting hall, we're just waiting on you and Lady Mina now." Shion said.
"Alright, we'll be there. In a minute."
"What about me? Where's my belly rub?" Milim asked.
"You're just gonna either have to wait, or let Eri out now." Kaen said.
"Screw that, I still got a couple days before she's stuck inside me for a full term, so I'm gonna go stuff my face with some of the food they caught." Milim said, lowering her clothes back over her belly, and ran out the door past the lavender haired Kijin.
Kaen and Mina just sighed, before they got up and followed Shion from Kaens office, to the meeting room, where Kaval, Gido, and Eren, were gathered with the other Kijin, and a few new human faces.
"Mina, it's so good to see you." Eren smiled, getting up and hugging Mina.
"You too Eren." Mina said, returning the hug. "You can probably tell, there's a few things different about me."
"Oh my Gods, congratulations. Eri's probably excited about becoming a big sister." Eren smiled.
"Gido, Kaval. Good seeing you both again." Kaen smiled.
"You too Kaen." Gido said.
"Hey, congrats on the new kids man." Kaval stated. "I'm sure you and Mina are gonna make for a happy family, with some more tykes running around with Eri."
"Alright, so without further delay, I'd like to get started on this meeting." Kaen said, sitting at the head of the table with Mina at his side, and Rimuru standing behind him to his left, and Shion behind Mina to her right.
"Wait, so you're in charge of this town Kaen?" Gido asked.
"Allow me to properly introduce myself, to those who don't know me." Kaen began. "My name is Kaen, the sovereign of not just this town, but this entire Nation. Our Nation is known as the Jura Tempest Federation."
"An' I'm his wife Mina." The pink haired girl said.
"An' here I was expecting the slime to be the one in charge." Kaval's companion said. "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Fuze. I'm the Master for the Guild, these three work for."
"By the way, I gotta ask, it looks like there's some new people here, but who are they?" Kaval asked, gesturing to the Kijin.
"Allow me to introduce you. This is Benimaru, and Shion. An' that's Souei and Shuna." Kaen introduced before the doors opened and Milim came in, after eating her fill while rubbing her belly. "An' that's Milim. She's used the rare, Rebirth skill to make herself pregnant with my daughter Eri."
"Let's try to stay on track here Kaen." Rimuru said, getting them back on track. "I know you're always anxious about Eri's situation right now, but we've got visitors from two Kingdoms here."
"Right. Shion's brought me up to speed, and as I understand the situation right now, the Kingdom's of Blumund and Falmuth both sent parties to investigate our city?" Kaen asked.
"Yes that's right." Fuze said.
"Whoa, hold on." The adventurer, who identified himself as Youm, stated interrupting Fuze. "Why the hell is a Lycanthrope who looks barely old enough for combat training, acting like a total big shot? It's crazy, what's the deal? Why do you chumps listen to him? He's nothing but an overpowered teen, with a hot piece of ass arm candy."
"You dare to insult our Lord and Lady?" Shion asked.
"Yeah, I do Ogre Tits." Youm said, before he was smacked on the head with her sheathed weapon, causing a big lump to form on his head, and bend forward in a way his body wasn't used to, unless he practiced Yoga.
"Are you okay?" One of his companions asked.
"Shion." Kaen scolded, as Rimuru throwing a healing potion on Youm's head.
"Oh, sorry." Shion said with a bow as Youm got back up.
"I'm not a Lycanthrope, I'm a Saiyan. An' we age slower physically, do to being a warrior race, thus retaining our youth so we can fight longer." Kaen stated, addressing Youm. "But if a little demonstration is needed for you to understand my position, I can show you why I'm the ruler of this Nation." He said, a dark gleam in his sharpened eyes, and the cracking of his fingers as he clenched them into claws, causing Youm to flinch.
"He's gotten scarier since the last time we saw him." Gido whispered.
"Well, I heard there was an incident yesterday that nearly got Mina killed, and that's why he's been on edge. Plus, he's the ruler of a Nation, while his wife is pregnant, so all that combined has to be stressful, especially for someone not even in his twenties." Eren said. "Not to mention, that remark about Mina being a piece of arm candy was kinda insulting for Youm to say."
"No kidding." Kaval added. "Even I wouldn't go that far. I'd be too scared of Kaen."
"Lord Kaen happens to be a born, and trained leader. He's probably the last of his lineage and the royal bloodline of his people, before his home was destroyed by a tyrant who feared his power." Benimaru said.
"Wait, so all this time, Kaen's been a Prince?" Kaval asked.
"Now, given what just happened, I ask that you forgive Shion for her actions." Kaen stated. "I'd actually like to be on good terms with humans. Ideally, I'd very much like to open up a trade network with you all some day, to help all nations in participation prosper."
"Seriously?" Fuze asked.
"Of course." Mina said. "We're already negotiating with the Dwarven Kingdom, and we're waiting on a reply from Carrion for a peace treaty after a bit of a violent visit from a few of his subordinates yesterday."
"That must have been the incident you were talking about Eren." Gido said.
"Wait, Dwargon and the Beast Kingdom?" Fuze inquired.
"Being able to pass through our land, would make things far easier for traveling merchants." Kaen added. "Don't you think?"
"Stop, let's back up alright?" Fuze said. "Dwargon acknowledged this monster town, as a legitimate Nation?" He asked, as another person came through the doors.
"If you want, I can confirm that information." Vesta said, closing the door behind him.
"Minister Vesta." Fuze gasped.
"Former Minister." Vesta stated.
"But I don't understand this, what are you doing here?" Fuze asked.
"Trying to put my talents to good use." Vesta said. "Anyway, what Lord Kaen and Lady Mina have told you is the truth. Lord Kaen, and King Gazel, have entered into an official treaty together, and King Gazel has given this budding Nation, his full support."
"Now are you convinced?" Kaen asked.
"I mean, if that's the case then we aren't exactly opposed to cooperating with you or anything." Fuze stated. "Still though, we'll need some kind of proof that you're an alley to human kind. Unfortunately we can't just take your word for it. Is that fair?"
"That's understandable, and well within reason." Kaen said. "We'll figure something out, don't worry. An' you're welcome to stay here for as long as you need, whatever helps you to understand that we aren't a threat."
"We were curious though. Do you know if the news of the Orc Lords Defeat, has already gotten around?" Mina asked.
"Well no, only our King, as well as a select group of people, know the details." Fuze said. "Myself and these three included among that select few."
"Sounds promising then." Kaen smiled.
"What are you two plotting?" Rimuru asked.
"Just trust me on this Rimuru." Kaen said. "Youm, wanna make a contract with me?"
"Ha, why would I want to?" Youm questioned, before the color drained from his face as he remembered what had happened the last time he disrespected Kaen. "I mean, why wouldn't I want to?"
"You said that the Kingdom of Falmuth paid you to come out here right?" Mina asked. "All you'd be doing is switching employers. To put it simply, we basically want you and your party to be known as the Champions who defeated the Orc Disaster."
There was a tense moment of silence, before Youm and his two compatriots snapped back to reality.
"Huh?"
"You can tell everyone that we helped you out. Then just start a rumor saying that you were the one who defeated the Orc Lord, preferably with some sort of weapon that Kaijin made that turned the Orc Disasters body to dust, faster then it could regenerate. An' that's pretty much it." Kaen explained. "If everything goes according to plan, then we become known as the town of trustworthy, friendly monsters, who assisted the Champions in their time of need. I think it'll be easier to build a relationship with humans, if they think we're cool, instead of mean hearted creatures. What are your thoughts?"
"It's a good plan." Benimaru said.
"Yes, I agree." Souei said.
Kaen looked to Youm, and saw a look of contemplation on his face, indicating there was something burdening him, and keeping the man from making up his mind.
"Youm." Kaen began. "No one is gonna force you to accept this contract. Take some time to walk around, think about the offer. An' when you make up your mind, let me know what your decision is."
"Right." Youm said.
"Now if you'll excuse us, I'm needing to stuff my belly and feed my babies." Mina said.
"While I'm needing to take care of something with Milim, before she ends up doing something, she'll regret." Kaen sighed, as both Saiyans got up. "Meeting adjourned."
~Sunset~
Youm just stood on the cliffside, looking out over the town as the sun was setting over the horizon. His mind wondering elsewhere, before someone spoke up.
"Rimuru said you wanted to talk with me." Kaen spoke up. "Have you given my offer any thought?"
"Yes I have, sir." Youm said, without looking back to the Saiyan. "It's really something. After seeing your town, and the people in it, I can tell you're not evil, and it's not like our hands are completely clean. But we've longed to be free men. The only reason why we accepted this mission, was because we had planned to fake our deaths, and flee to a safer Nation afterwards."
"That's a smart plan, but not good for the long haul." Kaen said.
"Hmph, you might be right about that. We'd get found out sooner or later." Youm said, turning to look at Kaen, and taking a knee in respect. "So I've decided, I think I'll trust you. An' from now on, I'll call you Master Kaen. I'm yours to command."
"Glad to hear it." Kaen smiled. "First order of business, we're gonna get you trained up to where your fighting skills, are on par with the legends you're about to become."
~Some Nights Later~
Everything was calm, and quiet in the bath house, as Mina sighed and sat back with Eri in her arms, while the child hugged her mothers belly, filled with her unborn siblings. While in the center of the bath, were three shadows in the water, with air bubbles coming up, before Milim, Shion, and Shuna came out of the surface.
"There you see, I told you I'd win." Milim smiled. "Looks like I'm the stay underwater breath holding champion."
"Sorry, but I was the winner here." Shion stated.
"You were? I was clearly the last one up." Shuna said.
"Shuna's right." Mina said, rubbing her belly. "She was the last one to come up, so she's the winner."
"Aw, no fair." Milim said. "Alright, we'll do it one more time."
"Very well, it's on." Shion said.
"It's not a good idea to stay underwater in the bath, but one more time shouldn't hurt." Shuna stated.
"Ready, go." The three said, before going underwater again while holding their breath.
On the other side of the wall, Kaen was relaxing in the water, with Rimuru, and Fuze, while there were about a dozen or so smaller slimes floating in the water as well.
"That's an impressive battle scar you've got there Fuze." Kaen said.
"Me? What about you, your body's covered in them. I'm assuming you were a warrior at one point in your past?" Fuze asked.
"Not at one point." Kaen chuckled. "I mentioned this when we met, but I'm a Saiyan. An' Saiyans are a race of warriors, it's in our blood."
"Ah, right I think I remember you mentioning something like that. Guess I was just in too much awe to listen." Fuze said.
"So, question for ya Fuze. You're a guild master right?"
"That's right, why?"
"Just wondering how long you're planning on hanging around is all. I'd imagine you can't be away from the guild too long without it falling apart." Kaen said.
"The guild will fine without me for a while." Fuze smiled.
"Another note, do you still think our town is evil, or have you seen for yourself what we're all about?" Kaen inquired.
"No, I don't." Fuze said.
"That's a relief."
"To be perfectly honest, I stopped being suspicious of you guys a while back." Fuze stated.
"Then why haven't you left?" Rimuru asked.
"Because, this town you've built is pretty relaxing all things considered." Fuze explained. "An' it's been a few years since my last vacation, so I thought I'd enjoy myself a bit."
"Not good to work yourself to death." Kaen chuckled, as there were two floating platforms of sake in front of them.
"You're one to talk, Mr. Solo the Orc Army." Rimuru stated.
"Hey."
"Alright, no need to air out our dirty laundry." Fuze said, taking a drink of sake.
"So I got another question." Kaen said. "What's the status on Youm and his group? They left a couple days ago after some basic training with Hakurou, looking pretty cool."
"Everything's already taken care of, no need to worry." Fuze said. "I've already finished setting things up. Believe it or not, I've already done the ground work for spreading the rumors that they're the champions, that defeated the Orc Disaster. Of course I included all the details, like how you and your people are a town of friendly monsters, who provided supplies for their quest."
"If that doesn't earn you a break, I don't know what does." Kaen smiled.
"Well, I think I've soaked enough for one night." Fuze said.
"Before you go, there's one more thing I'd like to discuss." Kaen stated.
"What's that?"
"I've been thinking about building a road from our town, to the Kingdom of Blumund." Kaen stated.
"Wait, what, seriously?" Fuze asked. "Look, I think it's a fine idea, but you're talking about a national undertaking here."
"It'll be a massive undertaking yes, but I've already got a few things planned out." Kaen said. "Our people will provide the labor and materials, for the construction. Cost won't be an issue, plus having a road would make it easier to do business. However…"
"However?" Fuze asked.
"I'd like to sell some of our specially made goods to other countries, so I was hoping you could introduce Rimuru or myself to someone who could give us some advice." Kaen stated.
"Is that all? That sounds simple enough." Fuze said.
"Awesome." Kaen said, before he heard the sound of laughter and giggling coming from the other side of the wall. "Oh how I wish Mina and I had a bath at our house to enjoy."
~The Following Morning~
"Good work, we're back in town you two." Eren said.
"Ugh, it's so heavy." Gido said, stopping as he pulled a cart full of baby Knight Spiders, all while Milim laughed in victory.
"Pretty impressive haul, huh?" Milim asked as Eri ran from the other side of the cart to stand beside her.
"That is quite the number of baby Knight Spiders you hunted." Kaen said. "Eri didn't get in your way did she?"
"Not at all, in fact she was quite helpful in fighting off the Knight Spiders." Eren stated. "An' Lady Milim is just amazing. She's able to locate monsters right away, it actually makes hunting them pretty easy."
"Finding monsters is simple, when you're amazing as me." Milim said. "We're gonna feast again tonight."
"Good job, excellent work everyone." Rimuru said, sitting in Shion's arms.
"Works definitely a way to describe it." Gido said.
"Who wants to get a drink and a bath?" Kaval asked.
"I'd love a drink." Milim said with a laugh, before she stopped, as several people there felt a powerful energy wash over the land.
"Milim, hold Rimuru for me." Shion said, putting he slime in Milim's hands.
"This presence. It's not Treyni, but another Dryad." Kaen said, taking a protective battle stance in front of Eri, as he analyzed the energy he felt, and the Dryad made herself known, as Benimaru, Hakurou, and Souei appeared for a potential fight.
"Hello there, I am the Dryad Treya." She said, revealing she was enveloped in a dark harmful miasma. "Treyni's younger sister."
"It's a Dryad." Gido gasped.
"Well this is a first." Kaval added.
"Not for us." Rimuru said, now in Eren's arms.
"Treya, what's burdening you?" Kaen asked. "What is causing this aura that's hurting you so badly?"
"An emergency has risen, calamity approaches us all." Treya stated.
"How so?"
"A Calamity Class Monster, Charybdis, has been revived." Treya said.
"Please, explain further." Kaen said.
"Its violence equals that of a Demon Lord, and even surpasses one." Treya said. "My sisters, including Treyni have set out to slow its progress. But they aren't strong enough."
"That's bad." Kaen stated. "Souei, have Kaijin prepare my battle gear."
"As you wish Lord Kaen." Souei said, taking off.
"There's more. Judging by the monsters flight path, it's heading for this town."
"Not good. That is definitely not good."
"What's happening Papa?" Eri asked.
"Against Charybdis, who's known as the ruler of the skies, waging a war on land, is futile. I've come to warn you, about your defenses." Treya said.
"Charybdis, has never fought a Saiyan before." Kaen stated. "Rimuru, gather everyone together for a meeting. We're gonna need a meeting to figure out our battle plan."
~Town Hall~
"The monster known as Charybdis was born a long time ago. It has died and been revived many times." Treya explained to everyone gathered within the meeting room of town hall. "It is the violent ruler of the skies. However, based on its lineage, that's to be expected. It hails from the bloodline of Valdora, the Guardian of the Forest."
"Like it's Valdora's child?" Rimuru asked.
"I don't think so." Kaen stated. "It might be something just made from pure magicules, and she did say it was of Valdora's bloodline, doesn't exactly means he created Charybdis."
"That'd be an accurate assessment Lord Kaen." Treya said. "You see Charybdis was generated from a cloud of magicules from either Valdora himself, or his brother. To which it is unclear as to who is responsible as the main culprit for this monsters creation. But we do know, its power is vast and destructive, just like that of the great dragons."
"If Charybdis has truly revived, then it's far more dangerous then a Demon Lord." Fuze said. "Unlike most enemies, we have no way of speaking with this opponent."
"True, it's a monster with zero intelligence." Vesta stated. "It's said to have the ability to summon floating shark creatures, known as Megalodons who then come from the spirit world to join it in its rampage. So I've heard anyway."
"An' here we all thought the Orc Lord was bad." Mina said, rubbing her belly in worry.
"To make things worse then they already are, the Megalodons it's summoned, well it seems they've possessed some lesser dragon corpses that had been nearby the seal that locked it away." Treya said.
"How many are there?"
"There are thirteen of them, maybe more. It is unclear." Treya stated.
"Lord Kaen, what should we do?" Shuna asked.
Kaen just sighed, as he sat there in thought, before coming to a decision.
"Souei, contact King Gazel. We're gonna need the aid of his Pegasus Knights." Kaen stated.
"Right away My Lord." Souei said, before disappearing.
"The rest of you, get ready for a fight. Your job will be to take on the Megalodons, while I take on the big bad fish itself." Kaen stated.
"Hey, what about me?" Milim questioned.
"Sorry Milim, but this is our town, and this is our problem. You may be a resident, but you're only visiting. You're gonna be returning to your own domain at some point." Kaen said.
"But I wanna fight as well." Milim said.
"Tell you what Milim." Kaen sighed. "We'll keep you on standby. If things get desperate, we will call on you for help."
"Awe, fine." Milim whined. "You just want to hog all the fun for yourself."
"War is never fun Milim." Kaen stated. "Now get ready Tempest, we're about to go to war, with an ancient Calamity Class monster of myth and legend."
