The next morning, the students were all getting ready to start. Eva and Seth were next to Ruby and Yang, listening to two people having a conversation about how they would be on the same team together.
"Wonder what those two were so worked up about," said Ruby.
I believe I may think that the young girl maybe light headed, said Mewtwo.
"Sloths do make some noise," said Seth, "but I don't think it's very much."
"So," said Yang, "you seem awfully chipper this morning."
"Yep," said Ruby, "No more awkward talk or getting to know you stuff. Today, I let my sweet heart do the talking." Ruby then fawned over her weapon.
Remember Mrs. Rose, said Rayquaza, You're not the only one going through initiation.
"Exactly," said Yang, "You're gonna have to grow up and meet new people and learn to work together."
Ruby then groaned, "Ugh, you sound like dad! Okay, first of all what does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up. I drink milk!"
"What about when we form teams?" asked Seth.
"I don't know," said Ruby, "I'll just be on your team or something..."
Yang then ruffled her hair and said, "Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?"
"My dearest sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me!?" Seth and Eva decided that it would be best to leave the two sisters alone.
They then saw Jaune, looking for his locker. Poor guy forgot his number already.
Leaf and Alissa were talking with Weiss and a red-head in bronze armor.
"So, Pyrrha," asked Weiss, "have you given any thought to whose team you would like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well known individual, such as yourself."
"I'm not quite sure," said Pyrrha, "I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may."
"Well," said Weiss, "I was thinking that maybe we could be on a team together."
"That sounds grand," said Pyrrha.
"I hope we end up on the same team Leaf," said Alissa.
"Girl power the whole way," replied Leaf.
"Piplup!"
"Venasaur!"
"Great!" said Weiss.
She then turned and looked diabolical, thinking to herself, This will be perfect! The smartest girl in class combined with the strongest girl in class. Together we will be unstoppable! I can see it now: we'll be popular, we'll be celebrities, we'll get perfect grades! Nothing could come between us now!
You need to calm down a bit,said a voice.
The two looked to see Mewtwo looking at Weiss.
"What are you doing?" asked Weiss.
You can't just pick your team, replied the legendary Pokemon, we all have the exact chance of being on the same team as Mrs...Pyrrha, was it?
Mewtwo looked at her and said, I can sense great strength and a strong Semblance with in you. I look forward to a match between us.
"Hey Mewtwo!" cried Seth, "We gotta go! The students are heading out to Initiation!"
At the cliff, everyone was waiting to start.
"For years," said Ozpin, "you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."
"Now," said Glynda, "I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates...today."
"What?" whined Ruby.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the person you make first eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."
"WHAT!?" cried Ruby.
"See, I told you," said a ginger haired girl.
"This is gonna be a LONG four years," said Red.
"After you've partnered up," continued Ozpin, "make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die."
I like a challenge, said Zapdos in a cocky way.
Seth looked down and saw that he was on a catapult.
"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair much choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"
"Yeah, um, sir-" said Jaune.
"Good," said Ozpin, "Now, take your positions."
Seth stood scared, and he held onto Eva hard.
"Seth, why are you so tense?" asked Alissa.
Her answer soon came as Seth was launched from his catapult. Soon everyone else followed, with Jaune last, screaming.
"Charizard! I chose you!" cried Seth.
Charizard then grabbed Seth and he helped land him and Eva to the ground softly.
"Thanks Charizard, return."
Seth then walked around, and he heard gunfire, and he assumed it was his friends from Remnant. Red had his Charizard out, and he also landed safely to the ground right next to Seth.
"Hey Seth!" said Red.
"Red, good to see you," said Seth.
Just then, rustling could be heard, and through the bushes came...Ruby and Weiss.
"Oh," said Red, "It's just them. Hey Ruby, how are you and Weiss doing?"
"We're doing fine," said Ruby.
"Okay," said Seth, getting a Pokeball out, "Rayquaza, I want an aerial view and tell us what you see. If you see anything hostile, don't hold back."
On it, said Rayquaza, and he flew into the air.
"So how does he fly?" asked Weiss.
"It's best not to think about it too much," said Seth.
The four then walked off.
"So I see you finally decided to be friends," said Seth.
"We are NOT friends," said Weiss.
"If you're partners," said Red, "You might as well learn to get along."
He is right you know, Ms. Schnee, said Mewtwo within his Ultra Ball.
"Yeah," said Seth, "I mean, Ruby is a good person. I haven't known her for very long, but I know she's nice, she's funny, she's cute and..."
"Wait," said Red, "Did you just call Ruby cute?"
Everyone looked at Seth then he blushed and said, "N-n-n-no, no, I don't have feelings for her, if that's what you mean. I mean, I do, but not like, LOVE. I mean, I like her but..."
"Denial," said Red smiling, "You DO love her."
SHUT UP!" said Seth angrily, punching him in the arm.
Alissa and Leaf both had partnered, and were traveling with Jaune and Pyrrha.
"Hey, Alissa, Leaf, can I ask you two something?" asked Pyrrha.
"Sure," said Alissa. "Is Piplup a Pokemon?
Alissa and Leaf looked at Pyrrha in amazement.
"Yes," said Leaf, "Wait, how do you know what Pokemon are?"
"Pokemon used to be all over the world. My mother used to tell me stories about them. They were partners with Humans and Faunus alike. We even had battles with them like the Vytal Festival. But during the Great War, we were so busy battling each other, we forgot about the Grimm. It's said that while we were fighting, our Pokemon battled the Grimm, and the Grimm hunted them all down into extinction. My mother hoped that they were just hiding. And seeing Eva, Pikachu, and Piplup here, brings hope."
Alissa and Leaf were amazed. They had never thought of Pokemon living on another planet. Piplup then started to cry.
"Oh Piplup," said Alissa, "I know you may have never known any of those Pokemon, but remember, you still have us and the others."
Piplup then sniffed, and he smiled.
"Piplup!" said the penguin.
Rayquaza, meanwhile, was scanning the forest, until he found Seth, Red, Ruby and Weiss talking.
"WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP TEASING ME!?" yelled Seth.
"Only if you admit it," said Red.
We don't have time for talking, said Rayquaza, coming down from the sky, I found the ruins, fifteen miles north but there is a flock of, I believe they're called, Nevermores, around the skies above. I will need a little something.
Seth nodded and yelled, "BEYOND EVOLUTION, MEGA EVOLVE!"
Rayquaza was then enveloped into the energy, and his fins along his body grew pointed ends, he grew side guards on his jaws and long streams with triangle ends, his two head spikes grew longer, and came over his eyes, and hey also got streams with circular ends. His tail flaps then grew and turned yellow, and were flaps.
Climb on, said Rayquaza.
"Wait, what?" asked Weiss, "No, I'm not getting on that thing."
"You wanna walk maybe more than fifteen miles away in heels?" asked Seth.
Weiss then sighed and got on.
"Relax, Ice Queen," said Red, "You might enjoy this."
Rayquaza then descended up, and his jaw streams attached to his tail flaps creating a perfect airstream flow.
"Alright Rayquaza," said Seth, "Dragon Assent! EVERYONE HOLD ON TIGHT!"
Green energy then surrounded the Pokemon, and he then took off, with a Sonic Boom.
Everyone then held on, as Rayquaza took off in a flash and he sliced right through the Nevermores. All but one he failed to notice.
