Chapter 3: I Love You, Anakin
Anakin walks slowly up to his apprentice's quarters and knocks on the door.
"Ahsoka. Are you in there, Snips?" Anakin asks as he hears sobbing through the door. He uses the Force to open the door and sees Ahsoka crying into a pillow. "Aww, Ahsoka what's wrong?" He puts his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm so stupid." Ahsoka says, embarrassed to look at Anakin. "I should've known this would never work." She begins slapping herself. "Stupid, stupid, stup-"
"Hey, hey, hey." Anakin takes her hand and sits close to her. "You're not stupid, Snips. What's the matter?" Ahsoka lets out more tears before looking Anakin in the eye.
"I love you, Anakin." Ahsoka begrudgingly answers. "There's just… something about you. I don't know. You could chalk it up to a stupid, little crush, an obsession, I don't know myself what it is." She looks up to see a surprised expression on her master's face. "Listen, if you want me to go with another Master, I can-" She is cut off by Anakin hugging her close.
"I call it feelings, nothing more than feelings." Anakin says while rubbing her back. "And I do think it's rather sweet you feel that way, Snips. I'm glad you told me. I only wish it was under better circumstances." Ahsoka looks up at her Master, who smiles down at her.
"You're, you're not mad at me?" She asks meekly.
"No, of course not." Anakin says. "You know how I feel about expressing yourself. I only regret not telling you about myself and Padmé sooner."
"I just feel stupid for thinking it could work." Ahsoka says. "I know it doesn't make sense to think it would, but I don't know what I was thinking."
"Ahsoka, it's okay. And you know, I think there's someone out there for you." Anakin says in a comforting tone. "In a planet populated by 3 trillion people, there is bound to be someone who would devote themself to you."
"You think so?" Ahsoka asks.
"I know so, Snips." Anakin reassures. "Depending on if the Jedi do change the marriage rule for everyone, you're going to make someone very-"
Before he can finish his thought, his communicator goes off.
"Anakin speaking."
"General, it's Rex. I'm at the compound. There's a man here to see you. Says it's a personal matter."
"What man?" Anakin asks nervously. "And what personal matter?"
"It's Senator Clovis, sir. We told him you weren't here, but he's insistent on 'seeing his man', it's quite unnerving."
"Rex, I'll be there shortly to talk to him." Anakin signs. "But I don't want you or anyone else to listen to him about us being an item. It's not true."
"I believe you, sir. I didn't believe the HoloNet when I found out. I'll keep him occupied til you get here."
"Thank you, Rex. I'll be right over." Anakin then switches off his communicator. "Soka, we're gonna pay Senator Clovis a little visit. And the we're gonna see Padmé."
"What are we gonna do with Clovis?" Ahsoka asks, getting angry.
"I don't know." Anakin replies. "All I ask is that you don't geld him."
"No promises."
As the two Jedi walk along the Temple corridors, Anakin notices Barriss Offee. Though Ahsoka doesn't notice, Anakin sees Barriss bat her eyes at Ahsoka.
Rex is slowly losing his mind, keeping Rush occupied at the compound.
"Oh come on, you never once thought about it?" Rush asks.
"NO!" Rex snaps. "We're all brothers! What's the matter with you?!"
"Well if we're gonna get technical-"
"Please stop talking, Senator." Rex begs. "You're giving me a headache."
Anakin and Ahsoka both enter the room, and Rex rushes towards them.
"I never thought I'd be so happy to see you two."
"It's okay Rex, we'll take it from here." Anakin pats Rex on the back. "Take the rest of the day for some R+R. You deserve it."
"Thank you, sir." Rex gratefully says as he runs out the door.
"What did you say to him?!" Anakin snaps at Rush.
"I was just asking him simple questions." Rush sheepishly answers. "I'm sorry if you were offended, sweetie."
"Do not call me, sweetie." Anakin says, trying to hold back his disgust. "Listen, whatever your preference is, that is completely okay. But I do not have those inclinations. I was willing to forgive what happened last night, but you took it too far."
"How did I take it too far? Padmé tells me you've always been at odds with the Jedi ways. She also says you two are just friends."
"I have been at odds with the Council, that is true." Anakin starts. "But how dare you turn that into a media circus! And I thought Padmé was your friend, too. You call her possessive of me because she's obsessed and what to convert me? What the hell's a matter with you?!"
"Oh please. Every politician has their secrets. She has hers and I have mine which I want to get off my chest." Rush says as he grabs Anakin's hands. "You are a beautiful man, and I would love to get to know you better. I can make you happy in ways that women cannot." As Rush says that, Ahsoka pulls him towards her, grabs his throat, and puts the hilt of her lightsaber up to his crotch.
"If you don't leave my Skyguy alone, you're gonna wish you were born a woman." She threatens, though Rush attempts to hide his fear with a smirk.
"He's my Skyguy, you little brat." He says. "You're just a little girl, you don't know what it's like to know what real love is."
"That's enough!" Anakin snaps, pulling Ahsoka's close to him. "We're going to see Senator Amidala. By the time we come back, you'd better be gone. If you slander her or anyone in here, I'll tell the HoloNet you tried to force yourself on me. Now leave and don't come back." Anakin leaves the hangar with Ahsoka to see Padmé. As they leave, Rex and Appo escort Rush out to a ship.
"This isn't over, Skywalker!" He shouts. "You belong to me!"
End of the chapter. Tell me what y'all think of the story so far. Initially I was gonna have this be chapter 4. I'm reworking the story to bring Padmé. It's been a while since I've updated my stories since I've been reading so many others. I'm hoping to get back into all my stories soon. Until the next update, happy reading.
