On Today's Episode: The spies finally corner Helga and Sunny, only for the gruesome twosome to unveil their trump card, the Hydrodisplacer. Let's just say that this final battle is going to get somebody "all wet". Can the spies stay dry and defeat Helga and Sunny, or is this where their summer ends?
Act 3: Drain Damage
9:30 P.M. – Helga and Sunny's Secret Lair
"Why don't you ladies just give it up already?!" Sortiliena proclaimed once the spies caught up to Helga and Sunny. "There's clearly nowhere left for you to run!"
"We wouldn't count on that..." Sunny sneered.
That was when Helga von Guggen held a remote control and pressed a button, which caused a lot of rumbling.
"Oh my... holy crapbaskets!" Alex exclaimed. "What the heck is that?!"
Everybody seemed to be in complete shock at what they just saw.
"I take it you're surprised, spies?" Helga sneered.
"Say hello to our ultimate weapon, the Hydrodisplacer!" Sunny boasted.
The lights in the room finally turned on completely to fully reveal the Hydrodisplacer. The room itself was large and circular, with a rather large pool of water in the center. The Hydrodisplacer itself was a large, cannon-like machine sitting in the center of the pool with multiple cables extending down into the pool.
"I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I'm just glad it's not another giant robot," May commented.
"We wanted something a little more... let's say, "elegant" than a giant robot this time," Helga replied.
"As for what it can do... well, how about we show you?" Sunny sneered.
"Oh, we'd be happy to dismantle your precious machine!" Nick proclaimed.
"So, you're going to answer to all of us!" Clover added.
"Totally!" Alex remarked.
"Then have at you!" Helga shouted, aiming the Hydrodisplacer towards the spies and activating the cannon, causing it to fire a powerful jet of water their way.
The spies managed to dodge the water blast, but it still hit the wall behind them and actually punched a sizable hole in it.
"...that's not normally supposed to happen, right?" Mat quipped. "It's just water, right?"
"The Hydrodisplacer allows us to control the force of whatever water we use for it," Helga cackled.
"So, basically, don't end up on the wrong side of one of our attacks, or you might regret it!" Sunny laughed as the Hydrodisplacer fired a bunch of water bullets in a spread shot formation.
Nick quickly raised a psychic barrier to defend against the water blasts while Sam and Mat circled the machine in hopes of finding a weakness they could exploit.
The Hydrodisplacer continued to swivel around the room, taking potshots at the spies as they spread out to keep it from focusing too heavily on them.
"Split up all you want, it won't help you!" Sunny proclaimed as the cannon aimed into the air and fired something resembling a sphere of water into the air, where after a couple seconds, it exploded into a shower of rain bullets that forced the spies to all duck behind something to avoid getting hit.
"Oh, we'll see about that," Haruka taunted.
"For reals, though, is there anything we can exploit on this thing?" Alex wondered.
Suddenly, just as Sam and Mat attempted to get close to the Hydrodisplacer so they could analyze it, the cannon suddenly spun around and aimed straight for Sam.
"So sorry," Sunny laughed as the cannon fired.
Mat quickly pushed Sam out of the way, quickly using an Emergency Gadget Transporter of his own to cover himself in a Brute Suit that took the full force of the water blast, sending Mat flying backwards but only damaging the suit and not himself.
"Oof, that was lucky," Mat quipped as he dismissed the Brute Suit.
"You're gonna regret that, you hags," Sam growled as she aimed an Electromagnetic Curling Iron for the Hydrodisplacer.
'You're calling us 'hags'?!" Sunny gasped, clearly offended by Sam's remark. "Have you looked in the mirror lately?!"
The Hydrodisplacer cannon swiveled around to fire at Sam, only to be jolted slightly when Sortiliena blasted the cannon with a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer.
"Maybe workshop some better insults, because that one's been done to death already," Sortiliena taunted.
As Helga and Sunny began to move the cannon around again, Bridget suddenly noticed something about the Hydrodisplacer.
A good chunk of the machine was actually submerged in the water, no doubt due to it actually needing to use the water in the pool for its attacks.
And that gave Bridget a wicked idea.
After relaying it to the rest of the spies while Helga and Sunny were distracted by Nick and Sortiliena attacking the machine, Bridget bent down and prepared herself.
"Will you stand still so we can shoot you already?!" Sunny shouted.
"You know you're going to run out of water eventually, right?" Nick quipped.
Helga simply gestured to the large pipes around the room that were feeding water into the pool.
"We can go for as long as we need to," Helga responded. "So you're not going to outlast us that way."
The rest of the spies all backed up to give Bridget some room.
"Let's get this show on the road," Bridget proclaimed, reaching for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"
And here... we... go.
After mentally counting down from three, Bridget took off running, dashing in circles around the room while the Hydrodisplacer tried and failed to shoot her down.
While this was happening, May flew into the air and tossed her anchor down into the Hydrodisplacer before using her EGT to recall it to her hands.
"Please get a better weapon, pirate girl, because it's getting old at this point," Helga quipped.
"Hey, a true classic never goes out of style," May retorted. "Now eat anchor, you punks!"
As May flew closer to bash at the Hydrodisplacer with her anchor, Bridget continued running for about a minute longer until she was absolutely sure she'd built up enough kinetic energy.
After skidding to a stop, Bridget looked up to see that, thankfully, Helga and Sunny's attention wasn't on her, as they were distracted by May constantly hitting the Hydrodisplacer with her anchor.
With that in mind, Bridget dived into the pool surrounding the Hydrodisplacer, swimming swiftly towards the machine and looking up as Helga and Sunny continued to fire at May as she dodged around the room.
Perfect, Bridget thought.
"What part of 'we can keep this going all day' didn't register?!" Helga shouted.
May simply stopped flying, smiled cheekily, and pointed down towards the pool.
When Helga and Sunny realized what was happening, it was already too late for them.
Bridget snapped her fingers, expelling her gathered kinetic energy in the form of a radial electric shockwave. After quickly jumping out of the pool, the pool began to conduct the electricity Bridget had expelled, short-circuiting the Hydrodisplacer and forcing Helga and Sunny to eject from the cockpit for fear of getting electrocuted.
Nick finished off the Hydrodisplacer with a well-placed Final Shine Attack, breaking the cannon in half and sending its remains tumbling into the pool.
Bridget glanced tauntingly at Helga and Sunny as they looked back at their destroyed machine.
"Well, well, who forgot that water conducts electricity, now?" Bridget taunted.
Troad suddenly snuck up behind Nick in an effort to capture him, but Nick simply swung his fist upwards without even looking back, dazing Troad long enough for Nick to leg sweep him off of his feet and toss him into Helga and Sunny so that he could imprison all three villains in a psychic bubble.
"Nice try, Troad-ie," Nick quipped. "Remember, I'm a psychic. Try harder when sneaking up on me next time."
"I gotta say, Bridget, that was brilliant!" Haruka laughed.
"It just came to me," Bridget admitted. "They were relying on their precious water to use their machine, but forgot to realize that 'oh crapbaskets we're surrounded by water that conducts electricity'. So, I took advantage."
"Is it me, or are your rogues' gallery getting simultaneously smarter and dumber?" Sortiliena wondered.
"It boggles the mind, really," Nozomi chuckled as the spies prepared to leave the lair.
10:47 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
Jerry's Office
"Well done as always, everyone," Jerry proclaimed once the spies had finished their after-mission report and Helga, Sunny and Troad were all carted off to containment. "We've successfully recalled all of the swimwear they created until we can fix them up."
"I really liked the part where you just clocked Troad without even looking at him," RiCO giggled. "That was classy."
"I'd quote the song and say that cool guys don't look at explosions, but something already exploded before I did it," Nick quipped.
"Well, I'm sure you're all pretty tired after all of that, so I'll take care of sending you all back home," RiCO stated, snapping her fingers to send the spies back to the beach house.
9:37 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House
The Next Morning
Naturally, Haruka was the first one downstairs in the morning, since the spies had all decided to have some fun in the pool to celebrate their summer. She thought her matchmaker plan was going pretty well, all things considered.
But she had no idea what was about to happen.
As the rest of the spies started coming down, already dressed in their swimsuits, Haruka noticed that Nick and Bridget hadn't shown up yet.
Which was odd, because usually they were among the first to come down. Well, Bridget was, typically, with her track member mindset.
Just then, the rest of the spies heard footsteps coming down the stairs rapidly.
Everyone thought that it was May, ready for another Pirate Dive.
But May was already in the pool, diving underwater to dodge a just-as-graceful Alex.
What the heck was...
"TRACK STAR COMIN' THROUGH!"
With that shout, both Nick and Bridget, already dressed in their swimwear, came barreling down the stairs at full speed and directly towards Haruka.
Poor Haruka didn't even have time to shout the "oh, crapbaskets" she was thinking of as Nick and Bridget lunged forward and tackled Haruka at the same time, sending all three of them flying into the pool, just barely missing May as she resurfaced.
"...huh. That's kinda funny when it's on the other foot for once," May quipped.
"ACK! H-Hey, you two, what was that for?!" Haruka sputtered as she resurfaced, only to look up and see a large collection of pool water hovering above her, thanks to Nick's psychic powers. "...um... dare I ask?"
"You thought you were being slick, Haruka," Bridget teased. "But you ain't slick."
"Yeah, Bridget and I caught on to your whole 'matchmaker' shtick pretty quickly," Nick quipped, surprising the other spies. "We just didn't say anything about it, so we could set you straight once the mission was over."
"Aw, come on, you two, you know me, right?" Haruka pleaded, knowing she was about to get soaked.
"Honestly, as much as I think Nick is pretty cool, I'm also pretty sure that three girlfriends is enough," Bridget stated.
"So, Haruka, that means... well, that you're about to get punished," Nick proclaimed in a rather dramatic voice (he couldn't resist) as he snapped his hand downwards, causing the water he'd levitated to fall down and completely drench Haruka.
Haruka sputtered a few times before looking surprisingly accepting of her defeat. "Okay, maybe I deserved that one," Haruka sighed, admitting defeat.
"You know what they say, Haruka..." Mat remarked, which got Haruka's attention. "You play with fire... you're gonna get burned!"
"No doubt," Melissa giggled, swimming next to Mat.
"Plus, as Bridget said..." Alex added. "Three girlfriends is enough..."
"Teasing Nick with your bikinis is one thing, Haruka," Nozomi stated as Haruka wiped her face. "And teasing Sam and Mat with the 'lovebirds' thing is another... playing matchmaker... Mat was right – you played with fire and got burned, girl!"
Haruka groaned a bit.
"Honestly, I should have seen it coming, because you were kinda acting exactly like Souji did this one time," May chuckled. "I swear, he was obsessed with getting these two lovebirds to hook up with each other because he thought they were perfect for each other. I mean, they eventually did get together, but I swear, I've never seen someone that gung-ho about matchmaking..."
"You tell 'em, May," Sam giggled.
"Even I wouldn't dare try to play matchmaker like you did, Haruka," Clover stated. "But props to you for trying – even though Nick DOES have three girlfriends after all."
"Absolutely," Britney added. "Even I think four girlfriends is too much!"
"But I do admit one thing," Nick stated. "I might have been willing with Bridget if I weren't taken by surprise with Nozomi wanting to reconcile; of course I could, but Bridget's right – three girlfriends is more than enough!"
"And I'm perfectly fine with that," Bridget giggled. "But I'll find someone sooner or later."
"You know, Haruka, we could get you, too with the 'lovebirds' pickup line you use on me and Mat, and Nick and Alex..." Sam quipped as she came towards Haruka. "And... maybe I will at least..."
Haruka yelped as Sam dunked her for just two seconds.
"I guess everybody's got their revenge then?" Blaine wondered.
"Easy for you to ask when you're not the one in my shoes," Haruka groaned.
"Hey, you played with fire, Haruka," Dawn reminded.
In the meantime, Mat and Melissa looked at each other as if they were looking forward to something of their own – particularly their car wash battle with Sam included.
"You thinking the car wash battle, Melissa?" Mat wondered.
"Totally," Melissa giggled.
They abstained from kissing until later.
After a couple of hours more, everyone elected to leave the pool area for some lunch; however, Mat and Melissa stayed outside for a bit more.
"You seem pretty excited about the car wash, Melissa," Mat commented.
"Yeah," Melissa replied. "Even though I took part in the last one, I'd like to think that one didn't count for me."
"Okay, well..." Mat chuckled. "So, tell me, what's more fun – a car wash battle, or perhaps when you cleaned the pool with Nick?"
"Honestly, I could go with either one," Melissa admitted. "I had a lot of fun doing both, so why should I have to pick just one?"
"Fair enough," Mat replied.
"Anyway, before we go in, Mat..." Melissa stated.
Since they were now alone, Mat and Melissa didn't waste any time with hugs and kisses.
Somewhere outside, Bridget could be seen running laps around the house in preparation for a track event that was coming soon.
"Already started on the running, I see," Nick teased.
"Hey, being a track star means I gotta be prepared for anything," Bridget quipped. "Doesn't just apply to W.O.O.H.P. work, right?"
"Point," Nick replied.
Before taking off on her next run, Bridget decided to ask something that had been on her mind during their time in the pool.
"Say, Nick? I was wondering something," Bridget asked. "Hypothetically, obviously. In different circumstances... do you really think you and I could have worked out, you know, as a couple?"
"I admit, I often wonder how things would have gone if events played out differently, especially since Patty and pirate me introduced us to the wonders of the multiverse," Nick admitted. "You know my mind and how it works, right?"
"Oh, absolutely," Bridget chuckled. "Heck, for all we know, maybe you and I did hook up somewhere out there in another dimension."
Bridget stepped closer and kissed Nick on the cheek. "I'm just glad that you and I are still friends even after all this time, really," Bridget giggled. "I still remember when I found out you were back here in Beverly Hills."
"If I remember correctly, Kikki was the one who gave me your number that day," Nick quipped.
"That sounds like something Kikki would do," Bridget chuckled.
7:49 P.M. – Somewhere in Another Dimension
"Is this the place, Glitch?" Ashley asked as she approached the information repository.
"It should still be intact," Glitch answered. "There hasn't been any signs of battle here for a long time, according to what I can glean from the area."
"Then let's get reading before I get pulled into another random rift," Ashley quipped.
Making sure she had easy access to her weapon just in case, Ashley stepped into the chamber that held the Fomortis Supercomputer, supposedly a massive information databank that would hopefully give her the answers she needed.
"Hmmm..." Ashley hummed as she typed on the keyboard what she wanted to know.
Suddenly, a massive laser blast pierced through the nearby walls and ravaged the supercomputer in question, causing what was left of it to collapse in on itself.
"...no, no, no, damn it all, I was so close!" Ashley shouted, summoning the Spiral of Death to her hands. "Who's the wise-ass who just did that?!"
Naturally, one of Emperor Terrence's robotic troopers flew through the hole in the wall made by the laser blast to confront her, but Ashley simply sliced it in half with the Spiral of Death.
"Damn that emperor and his minions..." Ashley sighed.
"Not all is lost, Ashley," Glitch responded. "I was able to download some information before the computer collapsed, and there should be another such supercomputer inside the Transdimensional Archives, located somewhere on... Fastoon, apparently."
"Well, here's hoping our travels take us there soon," Ashley noted as she felt herself being yanked into the sky and through yet another Quantum Rift.
Because the more we get yanked through dimensions like this, the more damage it's doing to the multiverse... and the more I realize that it's my fault all of this is happening.

Final Note from Mat49324: Well, we now put the bow on the package for Sink or Swim! Hope you all liked this one and that you enjoyed another fashion-related mission. If you got callbacks to S2's Fashion Faux Pas, good on you. Does it make you wonder why they never had a mission involving swimsuits in this capacity? Once in a while to me anyway. Anyway, we hope you enjoyed this one and that you'll stay tuned for our next project, which is titled Lightning Round, and it will be posted on Nick's page. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for anything he'd like to say.
Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's a wrap on this one! How many people were probably thinking "oh, he's getting another GF" only to see that backfire? I hope we got you guys good with that one. Yeah, Mat and I had long ago decided that three girlfriends (well, technically, two girlfriends and a fiancée) is more than enough.
Anyways, it's time to preview what's happening next time on Totally Spies: The New Adventures! Willard hasn't really gotten any time in the spotlight lately, being relegated to mere cameos and distractions, so I figured it's time to elevate him to main villain status for the first time in The New Adventures, and who better for him to play off of than Bridget, track star extraordinaire? Things are gonna get speedy next time on Lightning Round, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Lightning Round, and we'll see you next mission!

Before they could get started, however, they both heard a beep, and one of the cement blocks that made up the nearby sidewalk opened up to allow a large metal pipe to extend outwards from it towards them.
"Welp, so much for that," Bridget sighed as Nick projected a psychic barrier in front of them until the pipe's suction stopped.
"We've got time," Nick quipped. "The scrimmage isn't for another week, and the actual big event isn't 'til late September, so we've got plenty of time."
Nick and Bridget nodded to each other before jumping into the pipe, sliding down it until they reached Jerry's office, where the rest of the spies were already waiting.
"At least I got my required beauty sleep..." Clover sighed as she picked herself up.
"Sorry to yank you all out of bed so early, but we do have a problem on our hands," RiCO proclaimed after materializing in the office. "A bunch of people from Malibu University's track team have gone missing recently, and we have reason to believe that mister slow here is the one behind it."
RiCO waved her hands to change the office viewscreen to a mugshot of Willard before showing some pictures of some of the kidnapped students.
Bridget tensed up when she noticed one of those pictures was of Zoey, Corina, Kikki, and Renee, her old high school friends. They had all stayed with Bridget in joining Mali-U's track team after graduating high school.
"Uh-oh, I think Bridget's mad," Nozomi quipped.
"Where was Willard last seen, RiCO?" Bridget asked. "His keester has an appointment with my foot."
"I caught him recently skulking around Mali-U, most likely still looking for more students to abduct," RiCO answered.
"All right, then let's head there and stomp some faces," Nick proclaimed.
To be continued in Totally Spies: Lightning Round...
