Somehow I got another review whattt?
Lotus-Flowerzz: Yess dodgeball was something I really wanted to see in the actual series, which is why I wrote about it. Tysm! And thank you for reviewing :))
I didn't really edit this one so sorry if there are a few errors.
Here's chapter 4!
By the end of P.E, we're all sweaty and tired. We're all so fueled with adrenaline, I doubt Dex and Marella hate the others anymore.
We didn't end up winning, but at least we got higher than Stina's team. Marella, Biana, and I head over to the girls locker room while Dex, Fitz and Keefe walk to the boys locker room.
"Hey, do you guys want to come over to my house after school today?" Biana asks us.
"Sure!" I replied.
Marella looks a little hesitant, but after a nudge from me, she lets out a less than enthusiastic, "Sure."
Biana looks super excited. "Great, I'll have Fitz invite Keefe and Dex too! We can all play Base Quest!"
After seeing mine and Marella's confused looks, she briefly explains the concept of the game. "It's basically like a merge of capture and flag and hide and seek. It's super fun!"
I smile, "Okay!"
We change out of our sweaty clothes and head to lunch.
I stare hesitantly at the red beans floating in the orange bubbling liquid.
"Ummm.. are you sure that's safe.." I trail off when one of the bubbles pops, leaving a mess on the counter.
Dex stares at it as well. "I mean, no one DIED from it.." He reaches for the yellow cornbread, which looks slightly safer. I do the same and we move forward in line.
Suddenly, an arm grabs me and pushes me out of line.
"What the- Biana?"
Biana shushes me and grabs Dex too. He looks surprised but blushes at her touch. I raise an eyebrow. He rolls his eyes. I am DEFINITELY grilling him about this later.
"Where are you taking us?" Dex finally asks after Biana takes us to a dark corner, with a door marked "Pantry".
"SHHH!" She immediately says. "We can't get caught or we'll get detention!"
We immediately shut up. There's no way I'm getting detention on my FIRST DAY.
I cringe when the door makes a loud creakkkk, but no one seems to be around, so we slowly creep in.
As soon as Biana turns on the light, me and Dex gasp in unison.
Pop-tarts and cookies and sweets of all colors and sizes fill up half the room. Fitz and Keefe already have their hands full with packages and motion for us to grab some.
We grab some and follow the others as they use another door that leads into a hallway and we all discretely walk back to the cafeteria. Marella's jaw almost drops to the ground when she sees our goodies.
"HOW DID YOU GUYS GET ALL THESE?" she says, already stuffing some brownies into her mouth.
Keefe smirks. "I hate to take all the credit, but I found the secret door that leads to the pantry."
I laugh. "But wait, what if there were security cameras and they saw us?"
Fitz and Biana roll their eyes, but laugh. "We've been doing this for almost two years, and we've never been caught. I think we're gonna be fine."
Keefe grabs some E.L Fudges. "These are my favorites!"
I tried some, and they tasted really good.
Some people around us eye the stash, but thankfully don't ask any questions.
"Wow, I can't believe I didn't start hanging out with you guys sooner," Marella marvels, and immediately covers her mouth after she realizes what she said.
But Fitz, Biana, and Keefe smile at her. Even Dex seems to be in an improved mood.
"Just need to make sure Ms. Galvin doesn't catch us!" Keefe snickers.
As if on cue, Ms. Galvin walks into the cafeteria, an angry expression resting on her features. She finds our table and stomps towards us.
"Quick, hide the stash!"
I sweep a bunch of the packages into my backpack, as the rest of my friends hide them in various places. By the time Ms. Galvin reaches us, there's only crumbs and the slight scent of chocolate left in the air.
Ms. Galvin eyes Keefe. "Mr. Sencen. I was hoping we wouldn't have to encounter each other outside of my period 6 chemistry class."
Keefe shrugs. "What can I say, Ms. Galvin. I'm irresistible to ladies of all ages."
Ms. Galvin looks like she's ready to tackle him.
"Well, it looks like we'll be seeing eachother again. In detention. Tomorrow. Room 501."
Keefe's eyes widen. "What? Why?"
"You tell me. SOMEONE put the frog in my desk this morning and I know it was you."
"What nooo. Why would I do something like that?"
She rolls her eyes. "Don't even try to deny it Mr. Sencen, a couple of my co-workers saw you go into my room this morning."
"Ooh, busted," Marella whispers under her breath. Dex snickers.
"What! Who? I can't believe my own wonderful teachers would betray me like that!"
Ms Galvin sighs. A carrot is flinged toward the wall, almost hitting her in the head. She turns faster than light, and hustles over to the group of boys who were responsible.
As soon as she's out of hearing range, Fitz turns to Keefe.
"Why, man? Can't you stay out of trouble for one day?"
Keefe shrugs. "You know me, Fitzy. Only something terrible could keep me from pranking Ms. Galvin at least once a week."
Fitz rolls his eyes but laughs.
"Oh yeah!" Biana suddenly exclaims. "Me, Sophie, and Marella are planning to meet at our house today. Keefe, Dex, you should come!"
"Yes! Count me in!" Keefe says immediately.
Biana smiles, a little too much.
Dex coughs. "I guess if I finish all my homework in Study Hall I can come over for a bit."
"Great!"
We resume eating our lunches, with the occasional E.L Fudge. I throw away my trash, the bell ringing a second after I sit back down.
"Where do we have study hall?" I ask Dex.
"I think we all have it in room 907."
The six of us walk to the room, joking along the way. I can't remember the last time I've experienced something like this. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I had a friend to talk to.
Before I could get too deep into my hole of pity, we ended up in front of room 907.
Keefe holds the door open for everyone, winking when I walk in. I find myself blushing out of nowhere. I hope he didn't see.
"Oh yes! We have the spinny chairs!" Dex jumps into one and spins a few times.
"Yay!" Biana joins him.
We all sit at a circle table and pull out our textbooks. It's only my first day but I already have an 800 word essay to write. I grab my pencil and start drafting an outline.
"You're not actually going to do work, are you?" I looked up to see Keefe whispering to me. I look around and see everyone except Dex using their textbooks as a shield between their phones and the teacher.
"Oh" is all I could say.
Keefe smirks. He grabs my hand and stands up. "C'mon! Let's ditch."
"What no! What if we get caught?"
He chuckles. "Lord Hunky Hair never gets caught."
