He clenched his teeth together in seething agony struggling to focus through blurred vision as he tumbled across the broken landscape feeling the wound across his chest opening slightly, Initially failing to put up a proper defense in time allowing it to easily use its large talon to easily slice him up from hip to torso causing his movements to become slow as he bleed heavily and staggered as he moved across the newly made battlefield, struggling to overcome the pain his movements were causing him.
He felt the ground begin to tremble once more as gravity itself and the dense earth-shaking energy created by the creature combined creating a terrible feeling of both tremendous weight and power from the strike, Despite this intense sensation bearing down on him however, he slowly prepared himself for the awaiting charge as he arched his torso back his fist cocked back, feeling his heart rate skyrocket as he slowly came to the realization that he may very well die.
...One death was more than enough of a motivator, however and the prospect of wasting his second chance at life sickened him.
*CRACKLE*
*BOOOM*
And it was with genuine surprise that he watched as the thickly heavily armored plates of its torso caved inward under his blow, its deep red eyes widening clearly in bloodshot shock as it was launched back its mouth opening as blood and saliva exploded from the depths of its throat, Observing it in shock as it tumbled across the ground he stared at his large stone flecked knuckle in surprise having fully expected his fist to rebound from its large torso and his reasoning behind attacking had been purely for testing exactly how much damage he'd be able to do to it.
...Clearly, he was much stronger than he'd initially realized, not that he was complaining far from it actually, this gave him a pretty distinct advantage over the wyvern as he wouldn't have to be struggling to outmaneuver his enemy. In stark contrast, the wyvern's larger size but inferior physical abilities meant it wouldn't be able to make use of the sheer size of its multi-ton body, ultimately making it just a rather big target with no real advantages to its gigantic body.
...Being large did have some pretty obvious and unique advantages if you had the common sense and intelligence to utilize it properly, But unfortunately, the creature in front of him was far too stupid to make the most out of its body.
"Raaagh!"
He watched carefully as it began its second charge, and grimaced slightly lowering his shoulders as he breathed in slightly resolving himself for what came next, as he knitted his thick brow together and braced for impact.
"RAAAAG-E-Eee...!?"
It released a choked roar as he smashed his shoulder up against its chest knocking the wind out of it, as he rolled out from underneath its massive body and dropped an elbow over its back firmly with a grunt, half expecting the creature to shrug off the blow and send him tumbling along the ground like a ragdoll with a sharp twist of its body.
*Pop*
*BOOOOOM*
But its body collapsed and shattered the stone ground underneath it, Its muscles tightening up heavily as it strained to connect to a fragmented spine that wasn't fully there anymore, grimly he noticed the animalistic fear that entered its dark red pupils that settled in on his form.
Kneeling so he was at eye level with the creature, he glanced around for a weapon to kill the creature with and grimaced upon finding nothing knowing no ordinary stick would do the job properly; leaving with only one option.
"...For what it's worth I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." He stated grimly with a frown as he pulled his clawed fingers back, and pressed them tentatively up against the corner of its eye socket bracing himself for the brutal sensation of digging a hand around in a creature's eye socket.
He tried telling himself this was the only option, the creature was far too heavily armored with thick scales that would in all likely hood give any solid metal a run for its money, And bleeding it out through its thick heavy tongue or mouth would likely result in the creature being able to clamp down on him considering its likely alien biology...Snapping turtles could do it when dead with a severed head, why couldn't a strange fantasy lizard do the same or worse?
With a horrible sickening pop, he sank the entirety of his hand inside the width of its eyelid which promptly peeled back heavily around his knuckle as he tried his best to ignore its choked rasp unable to move a muscle as he moved his large hand around in its body eventually sinking his entire thick forearm inside its skull as he reached for the soft object at the back of its skull and upon feeling it he wrapped his fingers around it and tore it out from its root with a grunt.
Staring at his stone fingernails with a slightly scrunched expression, he flicked his finger out getting rid of some of the blood, all the while thanking his deceased father for taking the time to take him out hunting when he was younger as he was sure any normal person would have vomited or passed out from the amount of gore they'd seen.
...This honestly felt like the type of morbid shit that made psychopaths who they were, mutilating an animal while they stared at you with a mix between muted horror and self-hatred as they died.
The only difference being he was doing it for his own personal survival ending its suffering so it wasn't eaten alive by a larger creature who cared very little about its own suffering while it died...Though he wasn't quite sure he'd count having a creature a third of your own size digging around in your skull for what felt like 20 minutes straight as the more humane option here.
He somewhat braced himself against the creature's skull with a choked grimace, struggling not to vomit as he shut his eyes, his nose wrinkling as he tried to regain his composure, the new experience weighing heavily on him as he shook his head breathing slowly for a moment as he gave himself a number of deep encouraging words inside his head before leaning up wiping his blood-stained hand across its skull along with the pinkish gore underneath his large fingernails.
Breathing and grumbling slightly, he shook his head as he stood up walking away from the body and making his way through the dark forest doing his best to muffle his loud footsteps, hoping to any god out there that he wouldn't attract any larger creatures in the forest as he began his long trek across the uneven dirt path, Ignoring any sounds he heard in the forest for his own sake.
As he walked along the uneven path he felt himself relax hearing the calming cooing wildlife as the sun poked itself up above the horizon bringing with it a pleasant morning heat, as he slowly began to jog his legs going on auto-pilot for the moment as he simply took in the natural fauna and distant wildlife.
He began breathing it in through his parted mouth while sprinting, taking in the refreshing air lacking any familiar smoke or smells from a city, as he took it all in, knowing it wouldn't last as soon as he entered a city full of people his newly sensitive nose would become clogged up with the smell of everything a civilization brought with it.
...He half grumbled as a large gate poked itself above the uneven dirt path in front of him before he realized, he could now sleep in a warm bed with some food after a long night of running and blocking attacks from a creature twice his size.
"...What the fuck?"
Picking up speed, he grunted and nearly froze, the smell of burning flesh and strangely blood hitting all at once, tingling through his senses as he stared at a ripped-open gate with heavy claw marks marring its surface, A real estimate to the creator of the gash marks sheer size and heft considering they were roughly half the size of the gate.
...Every fiber of his being said to leave this place Immediately, But ignoring the brief instinct to flee was essentially a mind of over matter problem which was probably the easiest thing in the world for him after years of ignoring the tiny voice in his head that tried its best at steering him away from the broad series of permanent life-ruining decisions he'd made in his life as he stepped through the shattered threshold of the large village.
He glanced around softly, a huge sea of rubble standing out to him, the large walls having disguised the sheer amount of damage done on the inside of the village, honestly, it looked more like a turtle with its guts having been twisted into knots after being flipped on its back for a few days, Pretty strange analogy but weirdly true.
He pinched his nose tightly with a scrunched expression, before realizing that breathing in a sea of smoke for no reason through his mouth would be an easy way to die, as he stepped over a chunk of what looked to be a wall and began searching for survivors, more out of pity and the faintest fear of having ghosts chasing him around for not having bothered to look.
He paused slightly, noticing a large book jutting out of the rubble, and made his way over kicking aside a large chunk of rubble covering the book and frowned, noticing what looked to be a sword stabbed through an inch or so deep inside the front of the large book.
*CHKK*
Gripping the blade tightly, he tore it out with a grunt his enormous hand swallowing the width of the grip easily as he tossed it over his shoulder a sputter of black blood showered his face as he grunted and ignored the rung of solid metal across the shattered stone of the village watch tower as he eyed the book carefully for a moment before flipping open the first page and flinched in surprise the book glowing dark red with a bright light.
E.S.B -
Control is necessary for creation, Just as control is not possible without order and a strong mind.
He closed his eyes at the last moment as the strange light washed over him, the knowledge upon opening the book flooding through his mind almost overwhelming him as strange bits and pieces of memories began to tug and pang out at him in different directions inside his mind.
In one of the memories, he watched a Queen from a long deserted nation screaming on a pike where her surrounding subjects continued chanting in a strange tongue or cursing her very name in disgust, In another memory he watched a small man in robes calmly writing inside a book glancing out the window from his tower watching the brutal killing of the women with a dispassionate stare as he calmly wrote inside his book.
Ruined Queen...How unfortunate, Know that your memory will live on.
*Crack*
Once the annoyingly bright red light faded, He watched in fascination as a large crack appeared in the air in front of him large fingers gripping the book tighter as the crack began to spread wider, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end as a small almost delicate hand ripped through the space where the crack had once been.
A pair of large bronze horns soon followed very closely by a large pair of breasts, that would've frankly looked ridiculous on any normal being considering the amount of fat required to have such breasts, but a smooth almost delicate waistline bellied such logic as a small woman stumbled to her feet warily with a groan.
...Not that he was complaining he was a man, She looked honestly gorgeous all things considered, but the origin of the feeling of danger he'd felt earlier stood almost blaring right in front of him and absolutely obliterated any such thought of how she looked.
Watching her for a longer, he looked around for a weapon before remembering the sword he'd hazardously tossed and he quickly turned around picking it up right as she fixated her wary gaze on him. Caution was clear in her eyes was immediately in her eyes upon registering the heavy sword in his grasp that looked almost undersized in his huge palm as he stared down at her.
"I must admit...T-this is a surprise...Tell me strange human how long have I been asleep?" She questioned staring back at him coldly through dark red pupils, for a moment before glancing at the enormous protrusion on his forehead and laughing. "Oh? and here I thought your kind incorruptible, I recall your priests even going as far as to say you were created by the very gods themselves...The mighty have truly fallen it would seem?" She commented smirking up at him as the tension in her body eased considerably, as she stumbled closer to him ungracefully despite her words.
"I can't honestly say that I'm shocked into silence however you humans have always been a rather easily corruptible bunch...Drinking, Gambling, Killing." She clicked her tongue slightly brushing a bit of dust off her strange dress before glancing up at him. "A bit of a brutish species, to be quite honest, I have to say that form suits you far more than whatever you looked like before...Your outward appearance matches your inward appearance now hideously brutish and ugly exactly as all humans should be." She stated mockingly with a smirk, Her backhanded compliment almost made him wanna backhand her slightly as he frowned.
"Sorry to disappoint you but I chose to look like this and I'm not exactly full of overwhelming pride at being human, I have no clue what kind of response you were honestly hoping for." He stated dryly staring at her with a slightly baffled look, Wondering where the fuck she actually came from.
*Gasp* "It speaks! The beast knows the human tongue and here I was assuming you were the large intimidating mute here...I'm glad though as talking to my newest servant and hearing nothing back would've been awfully annoying." She commented crossing her legs on a large chunk of what used to be a nearby building staring up at him imperiously despite their obvious height difference.
"Now..." She continued with a slightly cruel smile, "Mind elaborating on your story brute...You don't appear to be of this world, the ethernano surrounding you seems warped...New almost like you've just been born."
-Thoughts-
I may have slightly overdone his little moral dilemma over killing a creature that originally tried to kill him, I'm kinda very new at character development right now, but I'll work on it I promise.
I'm not exactly happy with this chapter (I genuinely hate it) which is why it took so long, and I may or may not come back and fix this a few times later on once I've established a bit of the story in maybe 5 or 7 chapters.
Hopefully, the next chapter doesn't literal months to finish like this one, Though I was also dealing with real-life stuff as well, so that distracted me a bit so it likely won't take nearly as long.
-Question for some of you here-
[Rant ahead]
...People keep saying the pacing of the plot is completely off, But where? None of ya'll have really explained where exactly it gets so bad that you have to make a guest account to insult me? I spend like 4 hours a month triple-checking literally everything before uploading, I even kinda assumed I slowed the plot down to a crawl when I made him spend like 20 minutes of writing carefully dissecting his own thoughts on killing something with his bare hands.
I assumed I was making the plot obnoxiously slow, But apparently not lol
You guys really don't seem to understand that I'm actually totally willing to improve, But insulting me and then not even explaining wtf it is that made you so pissed off in the first place is just obnoxious? Do you guys seriously want me to spend like 40 minutes of just him thinking over every little inconsequential thing he does and then explaining to you why he took that certain piss over near that tree?
That would be obnoxious and headache-inducing, look I'm not saying don't make a review over something you dislike about the story, but if you want to see something improved upon be polite and act like a normal human being and explain why you don't like a certain part of the story so that I can improve it through adding something or making sure it doesn't happen again in the future.
[Rant over]
Alright done with the rant, But seriously people do you ya'll seriously think timing and pacing are just things that come from nowhere? I need helpful encouraging reviews that are apparently harder to find than diamonds on this site so that I'm not making the same little mistakes over and over again in the future ruining everything for other people.
I'm starting to think that grabbing some random popular character like say naruto? and then obnoxiously plopping him in another equally popular anime would be easier than this? Would save me a major headache as well, What do ya'll think? Would that be easier for you?
...I kinda feel like a middle-aged man in his thirties getting dragged through the mud by his bosses with a truck who refuse to explain what it is he did wrong exactly lmao
