Chapter 10: Lulu's Mini Adventure

The Loud Resident

["So that's all I got for now"] Sam finished explaining from the other side of the phone. It was the next day and Sam called Luna to let her know everything she learned yesterday. ["Honestly none of this makes any sense, but it's the only lead we got. I'm going to meet up with Kuhn in an hour to try to awaken this Avatar. If I do then when we find Tri-Edge, I'll be able to take him down."]

Luna meanwhile was setting up her laptop to login to The World as well. She wanted to get more used to the game and try exploring on her own. While hearing CC Corp was trying to cover what was happening up only mildly shocked her, it was hearing they actually were investigating all the comatose victims that caught her off guard. She had heard and read that CC Corp activity deny any connection between The World and comatose victims, as well as say they are separate incidents. "Did you want me to come with you?" She asked hopefully, wanting to use this to help repair their fractured relationship.

["I think it is better if you didn't"] Sam replied calmly but laced with worry. ["I don't trust these guys, we already know they are trying to cover this up. I don't want to put you in any more of a risk than you already are. You do whatever you can on your own and let me handle CC Corp Admins."]

"Okay, if you're sure" the rocker teen said disappointed with a sigh. "Just be careful, we don't know what CC Corp will do to keep this quiet."

["Hey, you're talking to the Grim Reaper"] her ex replied with a chuckle. ["I'm not going to let them get me that easy."] She then hung up on her end.

Luna could only let out a sigh of worry, hoping Sam wasn't getting into something that was over her head. Knowing there was nothing she could do, she put on the M2D and entered The World.

Delta Server Mac Anu

Lulu walked into the Central District and was unsure what to do. While she was tempted to go into a Area by herself, she was still hesitant to do so. She kind of feared running into a PKer. So she started to look around the shops around the fountain. While she didn't buy anything, the shopkeepers were friendly and answered any questions she had about any of the items. Just as she was about to check out more of the town, a pink blur ran into her.

Getting up and seeing what crashed into her, she gave Gaspard a deadpan look. "Are you having fun running into me?" She asks to get up, then helps him up. He looked up at her for a few seconds before wrapping her in a tight hug. "What the!?" She shouted in surprise at the sudden hug.

"Please! Help me!" Gaspard cried while holding on to the Twin Blade.

"Whoa, first calm down" Lulu told him while gently getting him off her. "Now tell me what's going on?"

"Now what do I do?" He said slightly calming down but still distressed. "I mean I was supposed to open up the shop together with Silabus. But when we went to open the shop up, there wasn't close to being enough inventory in our storage." He then started to cry again. "What are we going to do? There's no time left! What should we do? Our customers will be here any minute now!"

"Alright, I understand now" Lulu said, kneeling down and trying to calm him down. "We still have time to think of something. Do you need any hard to get items?"

"No" he replied, finally calming down to think clearly. "I need to restock on 10 Black Beans, 10 Almond Jelly, 10 Asian Mangoes, and 10 Caramel Sauces. That's what we're missing right now."

"I've seen those items for sale at different shops" the pink Twin Blade told him after thinking about it. "Could you just buy them and sell them at your shop?"

Gaspard first looked at her confused, before it was replaced with one of happiness and joy. "Oh you're right," he replied happily. "Then could you buy some supplies that we need? I need to go make sure there's nothing else we need."

"Sure dude, I can help," Lulu replied with a smile.

"Great, Thanks Lulu," he replied with joy. "Use this to buy the supplies" he then gave her 3300 GP. "You get the Asian Mangoes and Caramel Sauces. Then give them to Silabus when he gets here in the Central District." He then ran off leaving Lulu by her lonesome.

"Well at least he's feeling better" Lulu said watching him running off. "Now let's see, where did I see the Asian Mangoes and Caramel Sauces." She then made her way around and found the items she needed. Once she got everything, she found Silabus gave him everything.

"Got them! Thanks a lot for helping us out, Lulu" Silabus thanked after receiving the items. "Once Gaspard gets here, we'll be all set!" Silabus then taught her how the shop worked and how they saw and accessed its inventory. Lulu took everything in and enjoyed learning what she could. After waiting for a few minutes, neither of them saw Gaspard coming. "Gaspard sure is taking his time, I wonder what's up with him." Just then he got a short mail from Gaspard. "What! Apparently he got lost. I've got to go find him, could you watch the shop till we get back?"

"M-Me?!" Lulu asked nervously. "But I don't know what to do!"

"I'm sure you'll do fine," the Blade Brandier answered with a smile. "Manners are very important, even online. Remember to greet them properly. See you when I get back." He then ran off, ignoring the Twin Blade's shouts.

Seeing she couldn't refuse, she made her way to the shop and waited. A few players came by to purchase certain items and Lulu had some fun working in the shop. When things calmed and she got to rest, she noticed the Canard members had been gone for a while. "Wonder what's taking them so long," she said to herself while looking at the fountain behind the shop.

"Excuse me" a soft voice spoke from behind her. She turned around and greeted with a smile and was face to face with a small feminine Shadow Warlock. It was a young girl with blond hair and a harlequin outfit. She wore a large oversized jester's hat with ornaments resembling the sun and the moon hanging from it, with the moon raised up. "Umm, excuse me" her voice was soft, but sounded like a young boy. "There's a…There's an item I really want."

"No problem, what is it?" Lulu asked friendly, but was slightly confused by her voice.

"It's called a Dusty Miller" the Warlock asked nervously. "Do you think you might have any here?"

"Let me check," she replied before looking into the inventory. "I have one left, it's 6000 GP." She then saw the Warlock looked disappointed. "What's the matter?"

"I don't have enough money for it" he said looking down in disappointment. "I used to have the money for it, but it looks like it's gone now."

"What? What do you mean it's gone?" The Twin Blade asked confused at what she was just told.

"It was Saku's turn up until yesterday" he replied, voice laced with sadness. "Saku is my big sister and, well, Saku was the one using this character yesterday."

"Oh I get it now" Lulu said to herself. "So you and your sister share this character by taking turns." 'That also explains why the character looks like a girl, but a boy is playing now' she thought to herself.

"Yeah, but it's fine," he said looking at her with a content expression. "I was going to buy her a birthday present with that money anyways, it's no big deal. You see, we're twins, so it's actually my birthday as well."

"Oh so it's your birthday" Lulu said, thinking about what she was just told. Hearing why he wanted the item made her think of Lincoln and everything he did for their family. At that moment, she couldn't help but see Lincoln in the Warlock place. "I don't know if I should do this, but I'll give you a discount."

"Really?!" He asked hopefully.

"Yeah and wish your sister a Happy Birthday for me" she answered with a large smile.

"Okay, thank you so much" the young boy cheered happily. He got the item and started running towards the Chaos Gate. He then stopped and turned around to shout back at Lulu. "By the way, my name is Bo! I promise that I'll pay you back the next time I come here, Okay, Lulu!" He then went back to running off again.

"So their Saku and Bo huh?" Lulu said after seeing Bo disappear.

"That was quite sweet of you" a familiar voice said from her side. She looked to see Ronnie walking up to her with a large grin. Not too far behind her was the missing Canard members, looking extremely happy.

"Hey dudes, what took you so long?" Lulu asked when they got closer.

"Sorry, on our way back, we ran into our old Guildmaster Kuhn" Silabus replied apologetically. Both Lulu and Ronnie recognized the name and asked for more information. Both Canard members then started to tell them on how Kuhn created the guild, helped or saved them, what little they knew about why he left, and of Kuhn's dream.

Hearing all this made Lulu think about Sam and Lincoln. If someone like them were around for them when they started playing The World, would they be like Silabus and Gaspard. If they were then they wouldn't have run into Tri-Edge and the boys wouldn't be in a coma.

"What's wrong Lulu?" Gaspard asked, see her saddened expression.

"Oh it's nothing dude" she replied, putting on a fake smile. However none of them believed her, with Ronnie thinking she knew what was bothering her.

"Well thanks for watching the shop Lulu" Silabus said, trying to lighten the mood. "Why don't you join Canard?"

"Are you sure?" Lulu asked hesitantly. "I've got other stuff to do, so I don't know how much help I can be."

"Don't worry about it, just like the shop, I'm sure you'll do great" Silabus replied happily. "It will take a little while to process, but you'll get an email once everything is settled." The 2 members ran off without hearing Lulu's answer or input.

"Well look at that, you just joined a Guild" Ronnie commented with an amused smirk. She did enjoy seeing the shell shocked and confused expression on the older girl's face. "If you want I could get you into Moon Tree as well?"

Hearing that broke Lulu out of her stupor and playfully glared at her. "Oh haha very funny" she said with a playful and sarcastic tone. "Since you're here, do you want to help me level up in a Area?"

"Sure, let's go" Ronnie replied with a shrug and smile. The 2 then made their way towards the Chaos Gate.
