Log 29: Super Tennyson… Bros?

Gwen stood in the middle of a park, obvious displeasure present on her face. The young girl was dressed in a long-sleeved green shirt with dark blue overalls and big blue shoes. Her hands were covered with big white gloves and had a green hat on her head with the letter "G" printed on the middle. She simply stared at the person in front of her with a dead stare. "Why…?"

"Why what?" Ben asked. He was dressed similarly to Gwen except he had a red shirt and hat instead of green. The letter "B" was printed on the front center of the hat.

"You know why, doofus! T-this is ridiculous! We're in the middle of a freaking park dressed like plumbers!" Gwen exclaimed.

Ben shrugged his shoulders. "Yukiko wanted to do a thing."

"And when have you ever cared about what Yukiko wanted to do?"

"Since she recognized that I'm the hero of the story!" Ben puffed his chest proudly, making Gwen scoff.

"Yeah, the hero with a height deficiency." She pushed him lightly. "How about drinking your milk instead of stuffing your face with orange soda. Maybe then, you'll start looking like an actual hero."

Ben sneered at her. "Shows what you know! Everyone knows what matters isn't the size of the hero, but the heart within!"

"So, you admit that you're short."

"That's all you got out of-"

"Kyaaaaa!"

The kids stopped arguing with each other after hearing the familiar scream. "That was Yukiko's scream!" Ben exclaimed.

"Do you think something happened to her?" Gwen asked.

"I don't know, we were supposed to wait here for her. But I guess there's been a change of plans! It's Hero Time!" Ben charged off towards the direction of the scream with Gwen following close behind him.

When the two arrived at the location their worry faded away into disbelief. In front of them was a large building construction site, something that normally would be closed off from anyone other than construction crew. Strangely enough the site was entirely empty of any crew, simple tools and machines littered around the place. "Uh…why is this place completely empty?" Ben asked.

"I-It seems you two finally made it." The familiar voice grabbed their attention. Turning to the right they saw Kenny standing on top of a powerlift. He was dressed as a strange yellow turtle with a fake spear in his hand. "I'm assuming you two are here to save the Princess?"

They stared at him with blank expressions, making the teen nervous with their silence. "I-Is something wrong?"

"Yes, like, why are you dressed as a turtle?" Gwen asked.

"And what Princess?" Ben asked.

"What are you talking about? I've always been a turtle or better yet, a Koopa!" He winked at the two, who continued to give him blank stares, obviously still confused. Rolling his eyes, Kenny sighed and pointed up. "The Princess is all the way at the top. Hurry up there and you may be able to defeat the boss and save her."

"You couldn't have just started with that?"

"Seriously wasted our time."

"It's not like I wanted to do this or wear this! You try saying no to her!" Kenny yelled, blushing.

"Don't think I need to guess who 'her' is." Gwen sighed.

Ben raised a brow. "You're not going to try and stop us? Not sure if your boss is gonna like you just letting us pass through."

Kenny scoffed. "I may not have had a choice on taking part in this, but I'm not dumb enough to think I could hold you two off. Just go." Kenny sighed.

"Fine."

"See ya!"

Kenny watched his little sister and cousin race into the half-way finished building with a sigh. "I wonder if this building is still gonna be standing by the end of this."

Ben and Gwen ran up the stairs, wondering just what was awaiting them. "So, what do you think we're going to run into?" Gwen asked.

"Heh, nothing I can't handle. All we gotta do is bust through whatever obstacle is in front of us and save that Princess-"

BANG!

Ben stopped in place as a rubber bullet sailed past his head. The young hero and sorceress gasped from the unexpected surprise, and turned to the source. Standing in front of their path was a familiar young woman with dark blue hair. She was dressed in a punkish attire with black spiked bracelets and a spiked choker. Black and purple make-up was an unfamiliar sight on her face, but the two Tennysons were still able to recognize her.

"Naoto!?" Gwen exclaimed, shocked to see the detective.

The detective didn't acknowledge her. "I couldn't help but hear you two talking about saving the Princess. I'm afraid that such a goal will be impossible for you two as I will be preventing you from getting past this floor." She pointed her pistol at the two, her tarot card shimming in her eyesight. "Come forth, Yamato-Takeru!" The card shattered like glass from her bullet, summoning her Persona.

"We gotta fight Naoto!? This is crazy!" Gwen cried.

Ben, however, was more than happy to fight her. "As if! I got a bone to pick with this know-it-all!" He declared, activating the Omnitrix. He didn't notice the detective's eyebrow twitch at being called a 'know-it-all'.

FLASH!

Diamondhead stepped forward, not scared of the Persona-user. "Come on, shorty!"

"You do know she's taller than you, right?" Gwen reminded him.

"Shut up!" He yelled back at her.

"Tempest Slash!" Diamondhead was forced to block the attack before it could send him flying. The Petrosapien had been pushed back a bit from the force of the attack. "Don't take your eyes off your opponent or you might just regret it!" Naoto scolded him.

"Noted." Diamondhead grunted. He shot shards at the detective, who used her Persona to deflect each one. The Petrosapien charged in to attack with a sharpened blade, clashing against Yamato-Takeru's blade. It was difficult for Diamondhead to keep up with the Persona's speed, as it kept flickering in and out of his sight. "Gah!" He cried as another Tempest Slash managed to strike him into the floor.

Naoto's senses were sharp enough to notice the blue bolt of energy soaring at her. "Megidola!" She cried, stopping the surprise attack with her own blast. Looking past the smoke she saw Gwen using her magic to levitate several planks of wood.

Snapping her fingers, the wood split apart into blunt splinters. "See how you handle this!" Gwen cried, commanding the splinters to attack the detective.

"Benjamin already tried that." Naoto said as Yamato-Takeru effortlessly stopped the splinters.

"I know, but that wasn't meant to stop you."

"Huh?"

"I AM!" Diamondhead loomed over the detective, causing her to gasp. Luckily for her, she managed to roll out of the way as the hero's fist smashed through the floor.

"Careful, doofus! We aren't trying to kill her!" Gwen yelled.

"That wasn't going to hurt her!"

"Tch." Naoto didn't like how close Ben had gotten to her. Underestimating these two would be a terrible mistake after all. "Mind Charge." She charged up her next attack.

"What charge?" Diamondhead asked.

"I'm pretty sure that makes her next attack stronger." Gwen answered. "Like, Yukiko's fire enhancement spell."

"Ah. I see."

"You don't get it, do you?"

"I totally get it!"

"Megidola!"

"Aw crud!" Diamondhead grabbed Gwen, jumping out of the way of the explosion that shook the building. The two looked over to see that Naoto was charging herself back up for another shot.

"We really can't waste time fighting her." Gwen said.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Diamondhead smirked.

"I think I am for once." Gwen returned the smirk. Diamondhead charged forward, the noise disrupting Naoto's concentration. The young woman backed off and allowed her Persona to meet the Petrosapien head on. Gwen quickly took this chance to rush past the two to get to Naoto.

"Tch! Deathbound!" Naoto quickly used another attack.

Gwen and Diamondhead saw that Yamato-Takeru's blade flash brightly before the Persona vanished from sight. It was when Diamondhead got knocked to the side that Gwen realized what was going to happen. She activated a shield to protect herself from the onslaught of attacks.

"You're going to need more than that to beat Diamondhead!" Diamondhead declared, punching his fist into the floor. A wave of crystals erupted through the floor towards Naoto, forcing her to move out of the way. Unfortunately the spikes continued to follow her much to her annoyance.

"He can control the direction!?" Naoto gasped mentally. "Tempest Slash!" Yamato-Takeru slashed at the ground to prevent the crystals from continuing forward.

"Gotcha!"

"Wha-"

WHAM!

Naoto was sent skidding across the floor after Gwen kicked her across the face. She quickly tried to get up, but the pointed edge of a diamond blade kept her from getting up. She looked up to see both Tennyson kids had her pinned down to the floor. Smirking at the two, she relaxed herself. "Fine, I give."

FLASH!

Ben puffed out his chest. "Well, it's good that you did. You didn't stand a chance at all."

"If you timed out then it would've been a different story." Gwen rolled her eyes. She turned to Naoto. "What's with the punk attire?"

"Yukiko-senpai."

"Should've figured." The Tennyson kids sighed.

"Anything else we should know?" Gwen asked.

"Your goal is just beyond these steps. Go up there and rescue the Princess." Naoto explained.

"Got it!"

Ben and Gwen arrived in a dark room illuminated with red fluorescent lights. It was mostly empty except for the three people who had been awaiting their arrival. First was Rise, who was wearing a black dress that showed off her collarbone and shoulders. She had a black choker with spikes around her neck and black spiked wristbands. On her head was a bright yellow crown with a skull in the center.

Second was Yu, who was dressed similarly to Kenny, but his turtle shell had large spikes coming out of the back. The hoodie over his head had a red mohawk and pointy horns coming out of the sides.

Lastly was Yukiko, who was wearing a bright pink dress with a green emerald on the collar, and a gold crown on top of her head. She was tied to a column, but the least surprising part about her appearance was that she had a pair of gag glasses on. The heiress' face brightened at the sight of her little cousins. "Ben! Gwen! You've come to save me!"

Instead of playing along the two just gave the three an unimpressed stare. "What are we looking at?" Gwen asked, monotoned.

Rise laughed arrogantly. "Isn't it obvious, Gwen-chan? We've captured your dear Princess Yukiko, who we will be sacrificing for the sake of righteous love!"

Yu looked at her confusedly. "Wait, but didn't we kidnap her so that I can marry her?"

"That wasn't in the script."

Yukiko gave the idol a flat look. "It was in the script."

"It wasn't in my script." Rise clarified before turning to Yukiko. "Killing you off is the better option anyway."

"How!?"

"Wouldn't you rather suffer a painful demise than marry a disgusting turtle king?"

"I'd rather burn you to a crisp."

Ben stepped forward. "I don't care what was in the script! Nothing's gonna stop us from saving Yukiko!"

The heiress felt her heart melt at Ben's declaration. "Aw, Ben-"

"She still owes me one free video game of my choosing!"

"That's your reason!?" Yukiko cried.

Yu stepped forward, pulling his sword from its sheath. His grey orbs shimmered with unmatched power, raising his hand into the air, a tarot card came into existence. "Persona! Izanagi!" The Fool's trademark Persona appeared before the Tennysons. Izanagi twirled his blade as electricity cackled around it, then he pointed the blade directly at Ben. The boy's eyes widened before a feral grin spread across his face.

"Gwen, I got this guy. You go grab Yukiko." Ben said with his usual confidence.

"Are you sure? He's not like Naoto or Yukiko for that matter. He's really strong." Gwen was a bit more apprehensive about fighting Yu than Naoto. He was the leader of Yukiko's old team and defeated a god all on his own.

"Yeah, but I've fought tougher." Ben responded. Gwen sighed in reluctance and ran ahead to go grab Yukiko. Leaving Ben and Yu to have their showdown, which made everyone in the room a bit nervous at what could possibly happen next.

"Y'know, Yu, I've always wanted to fight you since Yukiko told us about you." Ben said. He was already scrolling through his playlist.

"Really, Ben? That means a lot. I've also been wondering just how strong your aliens are compared to my Personas." Yu got into a battle stance.

FLASH!

Four Arms cracked his knuckles, ready to have his fun. "Time to see which one of us really is stronger!" Without any more words, the Hero and Fool charged at one another, creating a massive shockwave that almost made the building tumble over.

Gwen almost lost her balance due to the shockwave, but managed to hold firm as she ran towards the two female Persona users. "I'm coming, Yukiko!"

Rise stood in her way. "I don't think so, Gwen-chan! You'll have to get past me if you want to save your Princess-"

"Say no more! Emocha Objectia!" A strong blast of mana bolted its way towards the support user. Rise quickly ducked out of the way of the attack to avoid getting fried.

"Aw, no fair! I don't have any attack spells in my arsenal!" Rise cried.

"You really should've thought about that before choosing your role." Gwen said.

"I didn't! Yukiko-senpai gave me this role as…the…guard…" A sudden realization hit Rise. The Idol's eyes slowly turned to Yukiko, who was looking anywhere but at them. "You did this on purpose, didn't you!?"

"Hm? What do you mean?" Yukiko feigned ignorance.

"You knew that I had no way of fighting these two and purposely gave me the role of protecting you!"

"Rise-chan!" Yukiko faked a gasp. "I would never put any of my friends in harm's way on purpose!"

"That's a lie!"

"She totally would." Gwen sighed. "Because she'd find it funny."

"Snrk! Pfft!" Yukiko couldn't hold back her own laughter anymore. "Hahahahahahahaha! T-that look on your face, Rise-chan! It's just too good!"

Rise huffed, pouting with her arms crossed. "You know what, you can just save her, Gwen-chan."

"Not sure if I really want to anymore. I'm just tired of today." Gwen shook her head. She walked over to Yukiko and started untying the heiress.

Yukiko looked down at her little cousin. "Did you have fun, Gwen?"

"I'd define today as our usual weirdness rather than 'fun'." Gwen replied.

BOOM!

Another explosion from the battle in the background had almost knocked them off their feet. "Though, I'm sure those two are having fun." Gwen looked back at the fight. As she noticed the carnage the two were creating, a question suddenly came to mind. "By the way…how exactly did you manage to set all of this up?"

"Oh, there was nobody here when I decided to set this all up. So, I figured there wouldn't be any harm." Yukiko explained.

RUMBLE!

CRACK!

Rise started to look a bit uncertain. "S-shouldn't we tell them to stop now? I really don't think the building is going to hold if they keep on going!"

BOOM!

BOOM!

RUMBLE!

"Uh…! A little too late!" Gwen shrieked as the building could no longer hold under the weight of the battle. The Rise and Gwen grabbed onto each other, while Yukiko just laughed as the floor and roof began to cave in."EEEEEEKKKK!"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Max and Kenji stared at the teens and kids, who were all covered in dirt, grime, concrete dust, and mud. "D-do we even want to know what happened?" Kenji asked.

The teens and Gwen all looked at each other before coming to a single conclusion that happened to work all the time no matter what. "Ben did it."

"WHAT!?"

Log End

NOTE: PEACHES! PEACHES! PEACHES! PEACHES! PEACHES! PEACHES!

Yes, I saw the Mario movie and loved it.

I pretty much teased Ben vs Yu at the end there. It'll happen eventually in the main story, not anytime soon though.

Who do you think would win though? Ben (Classic or AF) vs Yu Narukami?

Have a great day!
