A Dog's American Tail Chapter 15
Mousey is in for a world of hurt when Dawncloud gets ahold of her. She's warned that troublesome poodle hundreds of times, but did she listen?
Nope.
Now it's time for Mousey and her goons to pay the penalty.
Much to Dawncloud's bewildered astonishment the Dog High Council relented when it came to assist them in ridding the Manhattan Colony of Mousey and her ilk. She decided to get a head start on them to make absolutely sure Mousey didn't get away. Tiger would go one way to block any chance of escape through the sewers while Dawncloud would take the main entrance into the newspaper office to cut them off.
Right when Dawncloud slipped inside the New York World she couldn't locate Mr. Daley, Nellie Brie, Tony, or Tania, but she did manage to find Fievel.
And he was going up against the Outlaw Cat Twitch by himself. Dodging in and out of the activated newspaper printing press machinery.
While Fievel appears to be handling himself quite well Dawncloud decides to give him a helping hand in the last leg.
Dawncloud hunkers down in a hunting crouch waiting patiently for her chance to pounce. When it occurred she saw her opportune chance and took it.
Twitch had no time to react in his defense as she lunged out of her hiding place. Dawncloud had his neck in her jaws and swiftly snapped it within seconds. Twitch is left hanging limp from her mouth. She then unashamedly drops him like the piece of garbage he is. The humans can make their own assumptions when they come to work in the morning.
Fievel is mightily relieved by Dawncloud's save, hugging her leg and nuzzling her fur in appreciation. He then leads her to where Nellie Brie, Mr. Daley, and Tania are. Mr. Daley had been injured while trying to protect the girls and they were tending to him. Dawncloud got a good look at the monster. Turns out it was the machine, after all, invented by Mousey of all people.
Seeing Fievel come into the room with Dawncloud at his back, Tania said "Fievel?"
Giving his sister a thumbs up, Fievel said "I'm okay."
"Oh yeah," said Slug.
Slug and Bootlick had snuck up behind them.
Dawncloud instantly takes up a defensive position, growling and baring her teeth, sure she can take them by herself. These two aren't known fighters.
Realizing one of their numbers is missing, coming up short, Bootlick said "Hey, where's Twitch, Slug?"
"Uh, I don't know. What do we do," said Slug in confusion.
Definitely not the smartest ones in the Outlaw Cats.
"Well, if I were you, I'd start running," said the Great Dane threateningly.
The Great Dane, Lone Woof, and a Collie enter the room to loom over and surround the two felines who wisely chose to comply and not stick around. Shrieking the cats book it out of the room for the outside. Only to be met with the rest of the Dog High Council barking and snarling as they chase them away.
Satisfied, the Great Dane said "Well, that settles that."
Noticing one cat missing that should've been here, Fievel said "Wait a minute. Where's Tiger? If you hurt him, I'll-."
"Whoa, now easy Fievel. Tiger is just fine," said Dawncloud, softly, blocking his advance with one paw.
Somewhat impressed by Fievel's bravado, the Great Dane said "My, my. So bold for such a small mammal."
"Okay, ratface. Keep moving," said Tiger, emerging from the hole leading into the sewers, poking Mousey with a stick.
Tony said "Yo, Fooey. Look what we found trying to crawl back into the sewer," said Tony, smugly.
Behind them, Fievel's parents are waving with the baby in their arms.
Mousey finds this treatment highly undignified.
Infuriated, Mousey said "Hey, hey, hey! Watch where you stick that, cat! Or I'll turn on you like a vicious-!"
"Lapdog," said the Great Dane, tauntingly.
Mousey's behavior immediately changes into a huge shift. Her body shrinks in on itself as she whimpers, cowering pathetically behind a table leg in a vain attempt to hide.
Lowering his head to speak quietly into Fievel's ear, Lone Woof said "Well now, it's Mousey's turn to look for help from above."
Matching the voice and phrase, Fievel said "Lone Woof?"
"Shh," said Lone Woof, preferring not to let his identity as an informant contact be common knowledge.
Mousey is not out of the woods yet.
Dawncloud has the promise to keep.
Advancing on Mousey, Dawncloud said "I warned you what would happen if you stuck around in my territory, Lapdog! Now it's time to pay the price!"
"No, no, wait, wait," pleaded Mousey, shielding her head.
The Dog High Council would be Mousey's unlikely saving grace in this situation. Interceding they inform Dawncloud that they will handle Mousey from here and make sure she never is able to cause such havoc again.
Dawncloud is left with no choice but to take them at their word.
As the Dog High Council head out Lone Woof stops beside Dawncloud to question her a little.
"With the threat gone what will you do now? Will you join the rest of the dogs in Central Park," asked Lone Woof.
Shaking her head, Dawncloud said "No, I still have work to do here. Mousey's coalition may be out of the way, but there are still cats out there that'll look to cause trouble. It's my duty to protect the Manhattan Colony from them. Especially now there's so much rebuilding to do."
Accepting her decision, Lone Woof said "Very well. You know where to find us if you need help or change your mind."
"Of course," said Dawncloud.
Lone Woof then rejoins his brethren, Dawncloud watching him leave from the door until the entire pack is out of sight.

One more! Just the long awaited epilogue left! Ah!
Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of days ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.
When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.
Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.
Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads. But when it does I'm definitely pressing the report abuse button.
Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.
I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D
For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.
Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
