After waking up at 8 am in the morning I left the pokemon center for light warm up training before Gym battle that I have booked with my pokenav for 10 am, another feature of the pokenav I learned while on road.
Leaving pokemon center I was able to observe the Vermillion city as last night I want in hurry to reach pokemon center. Vermillion is port city of Kanto conecting to all the other regions with waterways. Vermillion has a massive port as it is to be expected, where from cargo to passanger ship dock. Even early in the evening while jogging I can see machop and machoke lodding and unlodding cargo from ships.
Most of the buildings here were looking fancy and city itself was almost three times bigger than Viridian but yet it is smaller than Celadon or cerulean so I can only image how big they will be or not as I have decided to hed to celadon for my next badage.
While I am in no hurry in collecting all the badges as indigo conferrence is almost 15 months away. Indigo conferrence is held every year so in next 3 months there will be one but I know that I will be not be able to collect all gym badges in that time so I have decieded to take part in one after that. That is also enough time for Balarion to fully evolve if I train him hard for all that time.
Pokemon are intersting creature as like huaman they evolve naturaly with time but unlike human if specially trained then they cut that time short alot like Caterpie line, in narture they take 1-2 year to fully evolve from caterpie to butterfree but if trained hard then this time can be cut down to 2-3 months huge difference, simillary Balarion as a dragon take aprox of 10-11 years to grown and evolve naturally but if trained hard they this time can be cut short to just a year. That mean by the time of indigo conference Balarion will be fully evolve and had time to get use to his body as well.
Comming out of my mussing as I had reahed a empty training field, so I released both Celeste and Balarion some distance from each other, after being released Celeste imediately teleported to my sholder, Both were giving me there full attention while ignoring each other, I sighed at that and started speaking "Lisean Up both of you, in one and half hour we will be fighting in Gym battle so just do just light traning till then." Both nooded and took fields left and right side of me for training, they have started doing this to no bothere with each other taking me a line between them. Sighing again at there behaviour I started forming streatgey for Surge.
Looking at the Gym from outside it was not so impressive, compare to viridian gym it is just large building. Slightly dissapointed at that I entered the gym and interear was also not so impressive, just an average.
Moving to reseption "I am Ash Ketchum, here for Gym battle" reseptonist looked at me for a second then started typing on the computer in front of her "Yes you have booking for gym battle, and it also says you have no badges?" she said with a frown. "I don't think it matter" she looked angry at that "You are so weak that lieutenant can't bother with you so go away." now I looked at her frown "I have a booking so get the lieutenant and if not then I will report it to league" I said with fanility. She greethed her teeth and sighed me to moved forward "Don't come to me when your pokemon are in cirtical condition" I heard her wishper from bhind as I entered battle arena, it was not somting fansy just pain battle field whose other side was bulky person warning wight t-shirt with military corgo pants and was giving imidating feling.
I sarted introducing myself "I am Ash Ket-" he cut me and said in crazy voice "I don't care for me you are just some brat that I will crush so get on with that." I gulped at that imidated.
Refree 'who I didn't even notice' started "This will be a 2on2 battle between Leader Surge and Challanger Ash Ketchum. Substituion is not allowed and when either side is out of pokemon then this match will end. Leader Challanger has no badge so use yo-" Surge cut refree as well "You have no badge. So I can't use my richu? You are lucky kid but just that mean others will have fun beating your pokemon" He said with a smirk and a pokemon materialize , it was a magnaton. "He evolved resently so he have some stress to take out, I hope your pokemon can stay long enough for him to take out that stress" he said with his crazy voice and constant smirk. Feling fear I calmed myseld 'Mr Giovanni says to be calm in a pokemon battle or you will make mistakes' I don't plan to make mistakes. Now calm down, I released ralts with new determination, Celeste look at me probly sensing my emotion and nood that I returned. "A ralts realy, not even Kerlia." he said laugingly, this made me angry that he was laughing at my pokemon "You will see as my ralts will desimate you weak ass magnaton" I felt pleased with my self as stoped laughing but smirk was still in place "So pub got some fangs hah, we will see where they are sharp for hunting or will be sold on shops for cheap price."
"Match begein"
"Celeste usal" I commanded her which she followed wating for her opponent to move, "Electric Terrain" surge said as entire battle fild lite up in yellow electric field powering up electric moves. This terrified me now, "Celeste end it fast" I shouted "Oh you think your little Ralts can finih up magnaton brat, teach him some leason magnaton tunderbolt" surge smirk with smug expresion that I can't argue as my face has lost all colour "Celeste douge it, if it hid you its over" I warned Celeste as magnaton released a powered up tunderbolt at Celeste which she luckly teleported out of but magnaton was not navis as it fired another tunderbolt without being commened that Celeste once again douged and it continued on.
I know that if tunderbolt hid its over no dought abut it. This is same as fight with Gary as Celeste is tiring, I don't know how but unlike squalit maganaton is trained by electric master and is not tiring out from continues use of tunderbolt and electric terrain. That mean losser will be Celeste if this continue, I have to think somting that will work before Celeste is out of energy somthing anything she can use. Disarming voice will have not much effect as magnaton is steel type that resist fairy and confiusion she can not target without being hit by tunderbolt.
I greeted my teet as I commened "Celeste use all of your last energy to fire a confusion" This is a sucide stretgy as Celeste is confirm to knoked out but she can do all the damage she can do making things easy for Balarion.
She understood what I want from her as she charged head first toward maganaton firing a full powered confusion as she is hit by a powered up tunderbolt that instantly knoked her at maganton, it was no dought damaged but not enough. I cunched my hand seing the state of Celeste that she is in from by order as she is electricoted badly while covered up in bad bruse and bleeding from side as well. I know Celeste don't have good physical defence but this can not happed from just a tunderbolt.
"That streatgy was foilish so I had maganaton ruf her up a bit" said surge strangly without his signature smirk. I just started at him as I recall Celeste tanking for her contribution.
Runing my streatgy in mind I send Balarion, after looking around for a second he focused on his enemy. Surge and magnaton examined gible at a good minute then said "A ground type hah at least you have some brain, but haven't seen a gible from around here."as he said this I just stare at him.
"Begin the match"
"Take down" this time surge started as I smirk and ordered "Sand tomb" Balarion throw rock moves at magnaton chaning his trejacrery where not just was it damaged by sand tomb but also toke damage from take down adding damage Celeste does this will be just one more move.
"Balarion tackel finish this" I said with smirk as Balarion charged at fallen magnaton. "Electric web" ordered surge, Maganton fired his electro web at incoming gible, which gible just shruged of finishing maganton.
As Surge recalls his pokemon, I was thinking that last attack what was its purpose? It delt no damage to Balarion due to his ground typing and surge knows that so why this I was thinking surge sends out this next pokemon, which was somthing I don't know about so I pointed pokenav at it.
Shinx the flash pokemon.
Ok, its not much but at list I know it name I suppose.
"Begin the match"
"Balarion, sand tomb" I said little unsure as being unaware of emeny, "take down" suge commened. Thinking that it will be last time when Balarion fired rockes at Shinks but to my surpirise shinks just smash into rock breaking it. Now worried I commended Balarion to douge which unforunatly Gible was slower to Shinx takig wekend jet powerfull take down. This woried me but what surge next said terrified me. "Play rough" What! A fairy move. "Gible get out of there" I shouted luckly because of Rough shink ablility Shinks was not able to hold Balarion saving him from full force of the attack but not completly as Shinx yet hit Gible some blows, throwing him some distance. "Balarion, Balarion stand friend please" I looked helplessly at brusied up fallen Balarion blarley standing up, knowing its to end I brought up my pokeball to recall him but Balarion give me a look of pure determination.
"Its over stop screaming and get out of here" said surge. I did not reply as I am looking at Balarion. "Very well then if you don't then I will end it, Shinx take down." As shinx charge at balarion to end it, I closed my eyes not wanting to see balarion to hurt even more but count my surpise when insded of Balarion, whose scream I heard was of Shinx. Opening my eyes looking at Balarion brealy maniging to stand similary was the Shinx not fainted but was unable to move. Shinx may not be hid by Balarion but because of constant use of Take down hurt itseldf. Seeing my chance I ordered Balarion to use his only long range move "Dragon Breath" what Balarion used was far from perfect dragon breath but it was enough to knowckout Shinx.
"Shinx is unable to battle, With no pokemon to use Challanger is the winner"
Surge was shocked so was I but realizing that I won, happyness I felt was imasarable as I run to Balarion and almost started dance but Surge stoped me. Insted of the frown I expected him to have he still have a smirk on his face as he aproched me. This time I was not terrified of his bulk and stood tall as he stoped in front of me. He started with seriousness "That was a great battle, not the best but more than I expected from brat who just started out. So let me congrate you with thunder bage" looking at the badge infront of me and the deficult match to optain it.
"Look at it someother time, now get lost" said Surge with mocking tone. I nooded as I started to leave. "Comeback when you think you are ready to face my real team, then we will have real fun" I heard him say from my back, without looking back I replied "You asked for it" with that I left the Vermilion gym with tunder badge.
Later that night I released both my pokemon after healing them up at pokemon center.
Both of them as soon as they became aware of their sorrounding made some distance between them. Ignoring it I started saying "Guys see we the tunder badge being proof of our victory againts Surge you both did greate job. Without you I don't know what to do."
After prasing both of them i headed to slept dreaming future advanture.
