Richard dropped off the kid's; he wanted to spend the day with his wife. Just her and him; been a while since they, had a date night together. He was taking her somewhere more private. He kisses the side of his children head; tell them to behave and have a good time. Give some money, to his oldest daughter Alexis. "Get whatever, you all want for dinner and movies too. If you, want too." Alexis kissed his check; "don't worry. Dad! Will be fine. Have a good time with Mom." He waved good bye, take his wife hand. Jennifer, had a good hold on his hand.
Jennifer got in the passenger seat, wondering where her Rick. Was taking her too. But was really looking forward to her surprise, he had for her.
Little did they both know, someone was watching them from a corner.
Kate wanted to speak to Castle alone, but he had his beautiful wife with him. He looked so happy, looking down on the ground. Her tears running down her face. Trying to wipe, away all of her tears from her eyes. Going back to her Dad place. But it don't, feel like a home to her. Don't have a choice anymore.
Back at Father Beckett Apartment

Kate walks in, like the walking dead. Her skin was getting worse, her appearance wasn't looking any better. Going back over to the dining table. Gets out some hot tea, boiling some hot water. Remember back then, when Castle would tell her some funny jokes or stories. Just to get her to smile some days. Anything to get her to smile. He would always, bring her a hot cup of coffee. Couldn't stand coffee anymore, maybe the real reason was. The person who, give it to her; wasn't there anymore. To give her a smile, every time with a cup of coffee for her. Making her a hot tea; make it the way, she wants too.
She barely touched her hot tea, feeling really lonely and miserable. How do you? Get back up; after taking a very hard hit in your profession and personal life. Why couldn't, she had been more open in the end. Sure, they had always picked on Castle. Giving him a hard time and sometimes, made fun of his theories. But nothing, had hurt him so far. But after, she had ended things with Tom. Could have at least apologize to him. When he had returned, in the fall. Instead everyone, treated him like garbage and hurt him further. He just quit, after being back for only one day. Tears keep falling down, just felt like maybe, she deserved everything that had happened to her.
On the road
For almost four hours
Jennifer, was reading her own book, while her husband was driving the car. Wondering just, where he could be taken her. But, he wanted to spoil her tonight. So, she was going to enjoy the ride.
They had arrived at their destination, she was surprised when her husband stopped in front of a cabin. "Don't worry, this isn't the surprise. You'll see it, soon." He unbuckled his seat belt. Came over to help; her out of the car. "Thanks, Honey." She give him; a quick kiss on the lips. He was quite shocked at first. But he gave her, a quick kiss too. "You're very welcome love." He holds her; very close to him. He kisses her check; runs his fingers through her soft hair. "I'm the lucky, man in the world." She kiss his check too. "I'm the luckily, woman in the whole world." He grabs her waist, "well, let's go inside for your surprise." She whisper in his ear, "now, I'm really curious."
Leading them up to the front desk, he asked the front desk clerk. If he could, lead them to their cottage. He gave him; a really big tip and help them with their bags. Her face looked, surprise and very happy to hear that. Holding her very close. Wasn't going to, let her go anytime soon. He was hand a key, he uses it to unlock the door. She couldn't hold back, a smile anymore. After the clerk, left both of them. She pulled her husband down, for a very long kiss. He kisses her; right back. "I figure, you really love your surprise." One more kiss, in between them. "Why, wouldn't I love it?" Shouldn't have surprise him; that he always tried to make her happy.
Back at Father Beckett Apartment

Kate hadn't moved from her spot at the dining table. Hadn't eaten all day; couldn't will herself to move. Then her dad, came out of his own bedroom. He took a sit at the table, he got up to make them, a hot cup of tea each. "Katie, you really need to snap out of it." She finally bite back. "I can't, it hurts too much. I feel like, I ruined my life." Tears kept falling down her face. "Do you really think, that this is, what you're own mother wanted for you." Knowing the answer, to that statement. Her mother, would be disappointed in her greatly.
"What should I do? I screwed up, my whole life. For what? So, I could play a high school game." She was crying loudly, "just wanted to make him jealous. But he don't, take the bait." She told her dad.
"What did you, except to happen Katie? That, he would just fall in love with you."
"I already, knew that he was in love with me. But, today after seeing him; look so happy with another woman."
"What do you mean, you saw him with another woman? When did you see him?"
Kate couldn't hold back, "he, looked so happy. I remember, when was so happy. Everyday, when he came to the precinct.
