A chilly breeze swept over the port of Wolf Cove, but the streets were anything but cold. A whirling twister made its way through the town, before suddenly coming to a halt.
Mask Aang pondered for a moment. "Hmmm, I don't think this goes too well with the temperature. Better change." A quick spin later, and he was now dressed in a sparkling red suit with gold tie, black shoes to complete the fit. "Oh, and I almost forgot. Nothing goes better for a party than PIZZA!!!" Stacking three boxes in his hand, he zipped off again towards his destination.
Back at their cabin, Katara and Sokka were preparing to tuck in for the night, getting out blankets and extinguishing the candles. As always, they were worried about Aang - he promised to be home safely, but they couldn't help but worry about a kid they had come to love as their own.
A knock on the door suddenly jolted them out of their thoughts. Who in their right mind would be knocking at this time of night?
Frustrated, Katara made her way to the door. "Look sir, I don't know what business you've got coming over right now, but - OH MY GOD!!!!!!"
Standing in the doorway was a young man in a beautiful red suit and matching gold tie. He had a muscular build and a beautiful smile - but Katara couldn't see any of that, as she recoiled in fear at the man's face. It was bright green in color and looked like it was sculpted from the thickest putty.
"Hello, my pet. I just came back from the temple and I just had to stop by for a visit." The voice sounded deeper, more masculine, but yet somewhat familiar. It almost sounded like….
"AANG?!?!?!? IS THAT YOU????"
"Man, what happened to your face???"
The green-faced man made his way in, leaving three pizza boxes on a side table. "Shhh guys, we don't want to wake anyone up. Yes, it's me. You won't believe how amazing I feel."
Sokka could only gawk at Aang's new face. "So…what did you find up in that temple to…you know…get a green face?"
Grabbing plates and cups, Mask Aang quickly set the tables, seating his friend and grabbing the largest slice of pizza he could find.
"Well, I was exploring some old rooms and came across this old beat-up wooden mask. I put it on my face, and it turned me into this. Pretty cool, huh?"
As if to get his point across, Mask Aang unhinged his jaw and stuffed his whole pizza in his mouth, swallowing it in one gulp. "Sorry. I've always wanted to do that."
"So, the mask gave you these freaky powers", Katara replied. "What else did it make you do?"
"Let's see. I beat three Dai Li agents with a giant vacuum, got a giant shovel to clean up my mess, and turned myself into a tornado to get here. So, just an average day then."
Katara and Sokka tried to stay as calm as they could, but they were still in shock at their friend's new attitude. "So, now that you're here, what are you going to do?"
Mask Aang looked at Katara with a grin of pleasure on his face. "You and me, Katara. Mi amore, my cherie, my lover. Tonight…we dance!"
And so, as Sokka watched on with a hint of jealousy, Mask Aang and Katara danced into the wee hours of the morning. Thankfully, silencers had been created to avoid calling attention to the cabin. Inside, however, was a party unlike any other. With him in his dazzling suit and her in a sparkling blue dress, they danced to their heart's desire.
At the stroke of midnight, the music turned into a slow ballroom number, as Mask Aang wrapped up Katara into his arms.
"Pretty sweet evening, my pet?"
"The best ever, my dear!"
They locked lips and kissed, electricity tingling down their spines. As he let go, she couldn't help but crave the energy he possessed tonight.
After another two hours, Katara could finally take no more. Being the gentleman that he was, Mask Aang led her to her room, blowing her one last kiss for rest. With Sokka already in deep sleep, Mask Aang made his way to a cot, ready to rest up for another amazing day.
As he woke up from his deep sleep, Aang could only ponder everything he had done yesterday. It all felt like an incredible dream, but it was all so real. He heard Katara's voice over him, soothing his tired mind.
"Aang, are you awake? You had a long night, and I think this did something weird to you."
Aang opened his eyes and stared back. In her hands was an old wooden mask - the same one he had found at the temple yesterday.
