"Good morning," Catherine opened her eyes when she realized she was being watched.

Steve brought his face close to her cheek and kissed her affectionately. "Good morning."

"Why were you looking at me so much?" She asked.

"How do you know I was looking at you?"

"I just felt it," Catherine sat up in bed and looked at the crib. The baby was still sleeping like a little angel.

"Well, I was remembering the day we arrived on the island and how you've been dealing with the unknown ever since. And I can't help but smile when I remember some of the things you did when you met some modernities," Steve told her.

"The most amazing thing for me to date was meeting the TV and the telephone, I couldn't understand how people could fit in there. But I'm getting better, aren't I?"

Steve hugged her and smiled. "Yes, you are."

Her countenance suddenly changed and Steve asked her if she was worried about anything.

"Steve, I've been having a strange dream that has been repeating every night for a few days now. I dream about my father and he is always standing next to Afonnso's crib looking at his grandson. When I get close, call out to him and put my hand on his shoulder, he turns around and says something to me. But I can't hear what he is saying. Then I wake up."

Steve stroked her face with his thumb. "It's just a dream, Cath. You don't have to worry about it."

"In my day we put a lot of value on dreams, Steve. I wonder if there's something wrong with Afonnso."

"There's nothing wrong with Afonnso. He is a healthy , smart and beautiful baby just like his mommy."

Catherine smiled at Steve, but it was a worried smile.

Steve kissed her softly and asked if she would take a walk with Afonnso in the neighborhood.

"No, I'm afraid I'll say something wrong and be called crazy or something," Catherine replied.

Steve touched her chin with his hand and caressed her cheek. "Cath, you can't live in fear. You need to adapt to your new reality. What are you going to do when Afonnso has to go to school?"

"I hope to get used to it by then, Steve."

"OK. " Steve kissed her forehead and went downstairs to the kitchen to make them both a delicious breakfast. They had breakfast on the beach and then Steve told her that he wanted to take Afonnso to the zoo.

"I think he'd like to see the animals," Catherine replied.

"I'll get him dressed for going," Steve opened the baby's closet to choose a light and comfortable outfit.

Some time later Steve was showing Afonnso the giraffe. "Look, son! It's the giraffe." Afonnso smiled at the sight of the giraffe and raised his arms as if to reach for the animal. "She looks just like the giraffe you see in the cartoons."

"I've never seen a giraffe either. She's beautiful," Catherine also smiled. Steve slung his arm around her shoulder and kissed her on the forehead.

Steve's phone rang and he saw that it was Danny. "Hi, Danny. Please don't tell me we're having a case."

"Hi, Steve. No, we don't have a case. I just called to keep in touch."

"Great. I'm at the zoo with Afonnso and I'd hate for my day with my son to be interrupted by work."

"And is the baby enjoying the zoo tour?"

"We just started, for now he is looking at the giraffe. He's delighted," Steve replied.

"OK. Enjoy this phase of his life because it goes by fast . See you tomorrow."

"OK. See you tomorrow, Danny." Steve ended the call and Afonnso was trying to grab the phone from Steve's hand. "No, you can't take Dad's phone. Shall we go see the monkey now? Bye bye to the giraffe. Bye Giraffe!" Steve took Afonso's little hand and made him wave to the animal. Then they went to see the monkeys, which were noisy, and this held Afonso's attention.

Catherine watched the two of them. Steve was a great father. He didn't even want to imagine the life her son would have if they had stayed in the kingdom after her father died. Probably Afonnso would have been taken from her.

"Cath, are your thoughts far away?" Steve snapped her out of her thoughts.

"I was just thinking about what a wonderful father you are to our son."

Steve smiled at her. "Thank you, you are also a great mother, a great wife, my partner for life. "I love you, Cath."
