Back inside the palace at Atlantica. The kings were enjoying themselves as they were having a great time together as they were drinking tea. Along with Sebastian who was also drinking tea and talking to them as well. They were talking about their kingdoms, the struggles they are facing, their daughters, and just life in general. But the main thing that they were talking about the most was how fun the mermaid ball is going to be.
" So Poseidon it's been a while since I last saw you. How are things over at your kingdom" King Trident asked Poseidon as he was drinking his tea.
"Will you know how it is to be a king? The work never stops but everything is fine over at the lake. Not to mention I have heard a lot about your daughters they have grown to be fine young mermaids, especially Ariel. Said Poseidon.
" well thank you. I got to say the same for your daughters as well. Is no wonder it was easy for them to find husbands. I am surprised that Felicia hasn't found a husband yet, but Thank you it is really hard to have a headstrong daughter but I love her. I am always trying to keep her out of trouble but it is hard to do that since she is so stubborn. So I have been asking Sebastian to come up with ways that will do that so we decided to have concerts but it is not working cause she is always late to them but when she does come to them she has been doing a great job isn't that right Sebastian. Said king Trident as he was thinking about Ariel's singing voice.
" I know how you feel it's the same way how I am with Felicia. She is one of a kind and she is very stubborn and so not afraid to speak her mind but that is what I love about her. That is what makes her who she is. But I do wish that she will listen to me once in a while. That got me an idea that will keep my daughter out of trouble as well. I know that this kingdom hosts concerts right, I thought maybe Felicia can join one of your concerts Sebastian." said Poseidon.
" oh, that is a wonderful idea she will be so busy with concerts that there is no way she will cause any trouble and we will be more than happy if she joins, right Sebastian." King Trident pointed out.
"Oh, I know that you would like this idea King Trident. Yes, I know that your daughter does have a beautiful singing voice, and Sebastian you did an amazing job teaching her how to sing. Hum, I wonder if would you mind teaching my little Felicia how to do the same thing. What do you think Trident do you think we should have Felicia join your concerts? It will be a great way for our daughters to spend time together more often. You can even come over to my kingdom so that you can teach her" asked Poseidon.
Sebastian is thinking about doing concerts over at Poseidon's kingdom. This could be a new challenge for him. " I think it is a great idea as well yeah we will be happy to have another mermaid join our chorus," Sebastian said as he looked at King Trident.
"Well, I think it is a beautiful idea. We can start to do a concert after the mermaid's ball is over. Now we got that out of the way. There is something that I also have to say how is Felicia doing? The last time I saw her was when she a little merbaby Said King Trident.
" Will it is really hard for her to find a husband these days but hopefully this singing thing will help her get one. I will tell Felicia this as soon as she gets back from hanging out with Ariel" I can't wait to hear my little Felicia sing. Thank you so much Sebastian and you can come over to the lake to even teach her. said Poseidon as he drank his tea.
" I am looking forward to having Felicia join our chorus. She is going to be amazing and with me, as her song coach she will be the best singer the lake has ever had, don't worry Poseidon I will not let you down" said Sebastian.
" Thank you, we might even have our concerts over at our kingdom so I can see your process," I can't wait to tell Felicia this. She is going to be so excited said Poseidon, as he takes another sip of his tea.
Now that I know what to do to keep Felicia out of trouble. Let's go back to talking about what are we going to do for the mermaid ball. That is the main thing that we need to talk about" Said Poseidon.
" Your right we do have to decide what we are going to do for the mermaid's ball tonight. The first thing that we needed to do for the ball is done which is getting our daughters ready. I also hope that Ariel and Felicia will get ready in time" Said King Trident.
" Yeah, I hope so too. But thankfully Flounder and Susie are with them so if they forget I am sure that they will remind them." Said Poseidon.
" I am sure they will, Now let's figure out what are we going to do for this mermaid ball. We do not have to worry about the music because that will be Sebastian's job.
Once Sebastian heard that he was going to be in charge of the music he started to come up with great songs that will be perfect for the ball. " Thank you, your majesty. You know that you can always count on me when it comes to music. It is no wonder why Poseidon wanted me to teach Felicia how to sing." Said Sebastian as he was proud of himself.
" That was why I put you in charge of the music, 'cause I know that no one knows good music under the sea than you Sebastian," Said king Trident. Sebastian was just blushed by all of the compliments that he was getting from the kings and he was so excited to start on the music for the ball. But he is more excited about teaching Felicia how to sing but he just hopes that she is not late all the time as Ariel does. " Then after we are done with the ball then I will get right to work on working on the concert which will be happening after the ball." Said, Sebastian.
" Great to hear Sebastian. I can already hear Felicia singing right now. She is going to be the best singer in the lake and everyone will be coming from every corner of the ocean to watch her sing and it is all thanks to you Sebastian." Said Poseidon.
As Poseidon kept on thinking and talking about Felicia singing this was just making Sebastian even more excited to work with her than doing music at the ball Because this is going to be a whole new step in his career and he couldnt wait to get started. King Trident was also excited for Sebastian for helping Poseidon with this When he is not busy with King Trident he can just swim over to Poseidon's kingdom to help him with his concerts.
After the kings were talking about the music and Sebastian's new job the next thing that they have to do is that they have to check out the ballroom to see if it was clean and decorated for tonight. They can't have a ball in a dirty ballroom. The decorations are going to be filled with sea flowers and sea stars and seaweed banners that will be hanging all over the ballroom.
As they were on their way to the ballroom Poseidon was telling king trident how much he loved the tea that they had. " wow King Trident that tea was very relaxing and it got me already for this ball tonight" Poseidon said as he was swimming side by side with king Trident. " oh I am so happy that you like it. It is one of my favorites you can take some home if you like it is called coral tea" King Trident said to him. " Now that we are done with our tea let's go see how the ballroom looks," said king trident as he led the way to the ballroom. Once they got there Poseidon was impressed with how it looked.
So after they were done with their tea. Sebastian went to go see if he can find some more songs that he will use for the ball tonight and how is he going to get this concert going. So in the meantime, the kings just went to the ballroom so that everything was perfect for tonight. Once they got in they saw some servants that were decorating the ball. There were sea plants all around the walls and the ceiling and seaweed banners all around the windows. Just then everything looked beautiful to them and they couldnt wait to see the look on the girl's faces once they see how the ballroom looks.
Once the servant realize that there was someone else in the room they turned around and noticed the kings were in the room. So it moved out of the way so that the kings can get a better look at it can show them how it did. " Wow this place is coming just fine don't you think Poseidon," said king trident as he was looking at the sea flowers and the seaweed that were around the room. Oh yes it is just beautiful it is just making me even more excited about tonight" Said Poseidon. " yeah me too, Will we better start getting ready because the ball is about to start soon? I also hope that my girls will find husbands of their own tonight and I bet that is what you are hoping for Felicia as well" Said King Trident. He said as both of the kings were swimming around the ballroom as were about to head out of the door.
The kings were about to leave the room when the chef that was in charge of the food called them over. This got Poseidon excited cause the food will keep King Trident distracted from their conversation about Felicia's love life.
" Hey, your majesties would you mind trying out the food before we serve it at the ball," the chef asked them. " yes that will be great come on Poseidon let's try out the food, and then you can tell me why hasn't Felicia found a husband yet." Said king Trident as he swam over to the chef so that he can try out the food. Poseidon got nervous cause he doesn't want to lie to his friend but it could be the only way to keep Felicia happy so before he went up to the chef to try out the food. He thought that he could try to change the subject by talking about the food, the ball, and making Felicia a singer. He just sees how it goes maybe it is not so bad. So he swam right next to Trident as he took a seashell sandwich from the chef and started talking and this is what he said to him
" Will you see Trident it is really hard to find a husband for her these days? This is because she is very young and has so much to look forward to like this new singing thing so she is going to be too busy to even think of looking for a husband. You also know that it is not a good idea to rush these things but I am hoping the ball might help her find one. but if she doesn't find one tonight it won't be a big deal cause know that means that she was not meant to look for a husband tonight. When she does find herself a husband, I promise you will be the first one to know and again she is very young. She has lots to learn before she ends up becoming a wife to some merman." Said Poseidon hoping that King Trident believed him.
After king trident grabbed his seashell sandwich and a drink. He told Poseidon that he was right about Felicia being too young to look for a husband and that it is a bad idea to even rush these things and they do take time.
" oh okay that is understandable and you're right it is not okay to rush these things. She has to know when she is ready to find a husband. If she doesn't find one tonight. It will not be a big deal if she doesn't. Thank you for letting me know if she does get one and once she does find herself a husband I am looking forward to meeting the young merman said King Trident as he took a sip of his drink.
Poseidon was happy that King Trident understood the reason why Felicia hasn't found a husband yet but he doesn't know how long he can keep up with this secret about Felicia being married but not to a merman but to a human. But he was proud of himself that he came up with a good lie like that. " Thank you, Poseidon you know as her father. it's really important to make sure that she is happy and that is the most important reason of all thank you for understanding. But let's just go back to talking about this food. Your chefs did a great job on the food and the drinks were amazing as well. I promise when she does find a husband you will be the first one to know" Said Poseidon as he took a drink from the punch ball.
" I think you are right Poseidon the food and drinks do taste great and I am sure that our guests will agree with us too. The food is not the only perfect thing the ballroom looks so beautiful all of you did a great job. Now we have to get ready for tonight so keep up the good work everyone" King Trident shouted to the servants that were working on getting the ballroom and the food ready for the ball as he waved at them.
All of the servants just bowed and waved back at them. Then all of the kings left the ballroom and started to talk more about what has been going on " Hey Poseidon how about we help each other get ready for the ball. I also want to know how your other daughters have been doing. They have grown up so fast. You must be very proud" said king Trident. " Yes they are wonderful and they look after each other. Misty has grown up very mature she is going to be a fine Queen to the kingdom one day. When my days as a king or over Misty will be the perfect ruler that will take my place. " Said Poseidon happy that he was talking about his other daughters besides Felicia. " I do agree with you she kind of reminds me of Alana. She feels like she is a mother to her sisters. Does Misty act like a mother to her sisters" King Trident asked. " Sometimes but she does take good care of them especially when one of them is in trouble Misty will always be there for them.
The kings have stopped talking about their daughter's none stop. Poseidon has been telling King Trident how Misty, May, and Dawn or so happy with their husbands. He also told him that there is no other merman that treats his daughters better than Tracy, Drew, and Kenny.
" oh, King Trident I can not tell you enough how I'm happy for my girls. Their husbands treat them like they are more than just princesses. They treat them like they are their world to them. Every time I see them with their husbands it just makes me so happy that I have raised beautiful mermaids. May and Dawn have also been great too except when they are always fighting with each other but they have their special personalities. They all love fashion and I bet they are going to be the most beautiful mermaids at the ball tonight. I swear how those girls get ready is unbelievable" Said Poseidon.
King Trident was in awe as he was listening to Poseidon how much he loves his daughters he feels the same way for his girls too. They all have their special personalities as well.
" Now that we talked a lot about my daughters how about we talk about yours? How is Ariel doing is she still obsessed with humans" asked Poseidon. King Trident just sign and said Yes she is. That is one of the things that she is stubborn about. No matter how many times I have told her to stay away from human things she does not listen. I have no idea why she will not leave them alone. Dealing with her and her human fascination is so frustrating. You have no idea." Said king Trident as he put his hand on his head. " I am sorry to hear that and I won't blame you if I see any of my daughters with a human item they will be so punished that they will not even believe, I know that May, Misty, and Dawn will listen to me what I say but if I spot Felicia with a human item I will be very mad at her, especially after what they did to her mother," said Poseidon
" I am so happy that you don't have to deal with it. Does Ariel know that it will destroy our way of life? Said king Trident.
" speaking of the girls do you know how long they are going to be out for cause it is almost time for the ball to start" Said Poseidon.
I don't know but we better get ready as well. It is not okay to go to a ball if the kings are not ready so come on we have no time to lose" Said king Trident as he and Poseidon swam into Trident's room so that they can help each other get ready.
Meanwhile outside of Atlantica Ariel and Felicia have just arrived at the palace from their amazing adventure. When they got to the palace Felicia could not stop looking at the human item that she got and she was so happy that she got to know more about humans. Felicia couldnt be more grateful for what Ariel has done for her. " Oh, Ariel I just want to say thank you so much for what you have shown me today. It had open my eyes to a whole new world that I have never discovered and now I just want to know more" Said Felicia as she was holding her slippers close to her chest. " awww Felicia you are very welcome I am so happy that I have a friend that I can talk to human things with cause everyone in Atlantica thinks I am weird because of my love for human things and now I am not alone anymore" Said Ariel as she pulled Felicia into a hug as Felicia returned a hug to her. " But you better give your item to me so that I can keep it safe until the ball is over 'cause I don't want any of our fathers to see it," Said Ariel as she took the slippers out of Felicia's hands and put it in her bag. " Good idea Ariel, I don't even want to think what would happen if my father figure it out I got something from the human world he will be so mad" Said Felicia
Then they heard Susie and Flounder who were right behind them and tired from catching up to them cause they were swimming so fast. Ariel turned to them and said "See I told you two that we will make it back in time. Now come on we have to go to my room so that we can get ready. Said Ariel as she looked at Susie and Flounder.
" I'm sorry Ariel I shouldn't have doubted you, Said Flounder. " Now that we got here on time. We can help you guys get ready right Felicia" said Susie. " Of course, Come on let's head over to Ariel's room so that I can find something perfect to wear to the ball tonight. Oh no, I sound like May and Dawn. Said Felicia as Ariel, Susie, and Flounder started laughing as they were swimming inside the palace. They were about to go to Ariel's room when they bumped into their fathers.
Once they got inside the palace they bumped into their fathers who were on their way to Tridents room so that they can get ready too. The little mermaids just said hello to their fathers as Trident was telling Ariel how happy he was that she and Felicia made it back to the palace in time. But Poseidon, on the other hand, was very happy to see his daughters so he pulled her into a hug and told her that he has great news to tell her and he wanted to tell her that she is going to have singing lessons with Sebastian. That she is going to be the best singer that the lake has ever had. He is also planning to have concerts over at the lake so that everyone in the ocean can watch her sing. But he feels like he should tell her that later cause right now she and Ariel have to get ready for the ball now.
Once Poseidon saw Felicia he was very excited to see her. " oh Felicia, I am so happy to see you, my little song angel, I have great news to tell you" Said Poseidon as he came up to his daughter and cupped her chin and so that he can give her a hug this just made Felicia very confused, especially the name that he called her. " uhm, I am so happy to see you too, father, what are you talking about and why did you call me song angel." asked Felicia as itched the back of her head worrying what has gotten her father so excited for. "I and Trident will tell you later my beautiful daughter because first I think you and Ariel should get ready for the ball I will tell you the great news at the ball but please don't forget your sea flowers which will look beautiful in your hair. Let's just say its something that you are going to make me a proud father and it is something that will change the lake forever" he says as he grabs Felicia and spins her around. Felicia just laughed at her father being so joyful. " alright father, you can tell me what this is all about after I am done getting ready" She says as she pulled away from him an blow him a kiss as she swam away with Ariel, Flounder, and Susie following her.
Ariel was also confused with Poseidon's new behavior too. Once the mermaids were far away from their fathers Ariel asked Felicia what was that all about? she asked Felicia. " I don't know but I am curious about how he acted like that it was pretty funny. I haven't seen my father that happy before in such a long time. " Said Felicia as they were heading towards Ariel's room.
" So how do you think that went? I am thinking of telling her before we go to the ball. I will tell her before we go into the ballroom. Poseidon said to Trident.
"Alright, that sounds good to me also make sure that Sebastian is there so that he can give you some support when you tell her," said king trident. " That's a good idea," Poseidon said as they were on their way to Trident's room.
" Oh, don't you worry Trident me and Sebastian are going to be the first ones that she sees before she goes to the ball. Oh I can't wait to tell her she is going to be so excited that she is going to be a singer
Meanwhile, in Ariel's room, Ariel and Felicia were helping each other with their hair and trying to decide which sea flower they should wear tonight but there were only two things on their mind, especially Felicia and it was the way that her father was acting and human things. The big thing that is on her mind the most is really how her father acted when he saw her and what was the big deal that he called her song angel which got her confused. Ariel was also trying to help Felicia figure out why her father acted like that too. " So which color of sea flower should we wear tonight do you think I should wear pink, yellow or blue or maybe purple? What do you think Ariel?" asked Felicia as she was trying to decide which sea flower she wanted to wear in her hair.
" I am not sure either I am also trying to decide which necklace should I wear too. But I got to say no matter what color you choose it will look perfect on you" Said Ariel as she was looking in her Jewelry box
" I am not good at making decisions like this usually May and Dawn usually help me with this kind of thing. They know more about fashion than anyone in the lake" Said Felicia.
" So Ariel what do you think why my father was so happy about? It must have been something that your father must have said to him" Felicia said as she was trying on different sea flowers as Ariel was doing her hair. " Will by the way he was acting I bet what he has to tell you is good news," She said to her. " Yeah, I hope you're right. So what do you think of how I look? I decided to put a light blue sea flower in my hair" Felicia said. " oh yes you look beautiful Felicia now look at me how do you think I look" Ariel said as she twirled around. " You look great too but do you mind helping me with my hair I want to make it wavey," Felicia asked. " Sure, Felicia. I will be right there. I also think that you should wear a necklace too and then after that, we can meet up with everyone at the entrance of the ballroom. Then you can figure out why your father was so happy. Please tell me right away after he tells you. I want to hear everything especially if it's good news" Ariel said as she grabbed a comb from her makeup table and started to brush Felicia's hair with it.
" oh of course I will tell you. If it's bad news or good news I will tell you whatever my father decides to tell me. I think I will go for a pearl necklace cause it will bended in with my mermaid and human necklace. Felicia said.
Then all of the mermaids looked at each other in the mirror and thought that they were ready. So when they decide that they were ready. Ariel and Felicia started to make their way over to the ballroom entrance when they got there. They saw Poseidon with Sebastian who looked like they were talking to each other. When the king saw his daughter he swam over to her and gave her a huge hug and told her how beautiful she was. Then he dragged her aside so that he can speak to her without telling her that Sebastian has something to say to her too.
Poseidon looked up at his daughter and swam over to her and said "Oh, my beautiful Felicia you look amazing" he said as he cupped her chin so that he can look into her eyes.
" Now that you are here. I finally can tell you something that I have been meaning to tell you and it is not just me that needs to tell you something. Sebastian also wants to tell you something as well. When Sebastian's name was mentioned he swam over to Felicia and Poseidon who had a huge smirk on his face. Ready to tell Felicia that she is going to join his chorus and he couldnt wait to see her reaction so he wanted to be the first one to see it.
So back to Felicia and Poseidon. Poseidon placed her hair behind her head and said what I want to tell you is something that is going to change the lake forever and I know you are going to like it.
" Will whatever you want to tell me does sound exciting. So what is this exciting news that you want to tell me and what does Sebastian have to do with it" She said with a nervous expression on her face,
" Will Felicia the reason why Sebastian is here is that it has something to do with him as well. The great news is that you are going to be joining Sebastian's chorus and he is going to give you singing lessons over at the lake and every corner of the ocean will come and watch you sing. So what do you think about becoming a singer" Poseidon said after he took a deep breath. After he finished what he said he just saw Felicia having a surprised expression on her face. At first, he thought that she was surprised because she was excited about it but she wasn't. She thought that it will stop her from looking for human items and also it will just get in the way of helping Ash being Queen of the island. But since it was making her father happy she decided to go with it even though it was nothing that she wanted to do.
Felicia just looked at him in shock and didn't know how to react to it because it sounded like her father was making decisions for her again that was something that Felicia did not like and she thought that she talked to him about it. It was the same thing when he was forcing her to marry Travis. But of course, Poseidon didn't think that he was only thinking of himself again.
" You don't need to answer the look on your face is giving me the answer that I need, I can see you are pretty excited you will start your singing lesson right after the ball and it will be a whole new start cause it will be your first concert and Sebastian is going to be in charge of it. So you are going to be the best singer the lake has ever seen" Said Poseidon as he took Felicia by her hands and danced around until Felicia pulled him away. She was still unsure about what her father said but she didn't want to see her father upset and even though it sounds like he is forcing her to do something that she doesn't want to do.
" Will father this is so sudden, I don't know what to say" Felicia finally spoke. " Oh, there is no need to my dear just promise me that you will not let me down and I am sure you are going to thank me afterward. Poseidon said.
After Felicia pulled away from her father, then Poseidon said now that I got that out of the way let's head over to the ball we can talk about the concert later today" Said Poseidon as swam right into the ballroom.
After Poseidon left, Ariel came up to Felicia so that she can hear what her father said to her. " Hey Felicia I see that you are done talking to your father, So what is it that he wanted to tell you," Ariel asked. Felicia just looked at Ariel and just signed. " oh Ariel he is doing it again" She said as she lowed her head down. Ariel just looked at her confused. " What do you mean," She asked. " He is making decisions for me again. He wants me to become a singer and he has Sebastian teaching me how to sing" Felicia said to her. " Oh Felicia I'm sorry but, don't worry I am sure something good will come out of it, 'cause then we get to spend more time together," She said. " Yeah I am happy about that, but that is going to get in my way of learning about humans with scuttle and how am I going to be the queen of the island if I am going to be too busy practicing for concerts which I am not sure how good I am at that.
"It's like he never learned from the last time that it is a bad idea to make decisions for others, especially if it's something they don't want to do. This is starting to become a habit for him, But I guess that will never change I thought he did. But I was wrong. She said sadly.
But before Ariel was about to say something they saw Sebastian coming up to them and noticed that they were blocking the entrance so he just pushed Ariel and Felicia into the ballroom.
Then Sebastian came over and said " Keep it going ladies we have a ball to go to and then I and Felicia have to get started on the concert right away," He said as he was pushing them to the entrance to the ballroom. " hey you don't have to push us you know, Felicia said to him. " Well, I'm sorry you two were blocking the entrance. Don't worry about the concert yet Felicia because I want you to have fun at the ball tonight. So don't think about it too much 'cause then it will ruin your good time at the mermaid's ball" Said Sebastian.
"Sebastian is right Felicia, Let's forget about that for right now because let's focus on having a great time at the ball tonight now come on and dance with me" Said Ariel as she pulled her into the middle of the ballroom as they were dancing together along with Flounder and Susie who were dancing with each other too.
As the mermaids were dancing with their friends. Their fathers were talking how did Felicia say about joining Sebastian's chorus.
" Wow Trident it looks like our daughters are having a good time so far, look at how beautiful May and Dawn look. I told you that they will be the most beautiful mermaids at the ball tonight. That is not all I told Felicia that she is joining Sebastian's chorus" Said Poseidon.
As the kings were sitting at a table as were talking. " Wow that is great and you are right May and Dawn do look beautiful, especially the flowers that they got in their hair. So what did Felicia say was she excited when you told her? King Trident asked.
" She was speechless. Which means that she is probably too excited to speak. I know I made the right choice. I do know what is best for my girls" said Poseidon as he was staring at Felicia dancing with Ariel, Susie, and Flounder. Then the kings went back on having their drinks over at the punch ball as they were talking about general stuff.
So as everyone in Atlantica was dancing and having fun at the mermaid's ball. Felicia was starting to feel better about what her father said to her and forgot why she was so upset before but there was one thing that she is worried about and that was Ash. She hopes he will figure out why he had that mysterious dream but she decided to focus on that later cause right now she just wanted to have a great time at the mermaid's ball with her friends and family because if she focus too much on her problems it will just ruin her good time at the mermaid's ball. So she decided to worry about her issues later and just have fun with her friends and family.
Speaking of which let's head back to the island to see how the Pokemon or doing to help Ash forget about the terrible dream that he had, While maybe a little fun with his Pokemon will be able to help him but it turns out it didn't do anything. No matter how hard they try Ash still can't stop thinking about his dream but as soon as he was about to give up hope. That was when Flatsom and Jetson realize that it was their time to help. So they told him that they know someone who can help him. Ash was curious about this and didn't know if he should trust them but it seems that he didn't have a choice. So the eels told him that there was one creature that can help him and that someone was no other than Ursula the sea witch. Ash had heard stories about her from Felicia and her sisters and the most important thing that they told him is to stay away from her because she is extremely dangerous. But he knew that he didn't have a choice because this dream could endanger the merfolk and the Pokemon and he didn't want either of them getting hurt so he decided to go see the sea witch. But we will not know what is going to happen when Ash meets the sea witch in the next chapter. Let's see what Ursula is going to do to help him or will it just be a trap? Will Ash make the biggest sacrifice of his life? While you can find out in the next chapter called Ash's Sacrifice. What do you think Ursula is going to do to help him or will she just use him to get what she wants? Do you think it has something to do with getting revenge and having total control of the ocean?
