Rai a person was cutting down an imperial that try to attack him from behind with the Nichirin blade. Then he dodged a shot from two of the Imperials and quickly dash 'ice breathing first form Ice strikes' as he slashed the Imperials their wounds frozen and stayed dead.
Then he took a grenade and toss it at a group of Imperials as they blow to smitherins.
To start how this happen or who is Rai? The white hair teen woke up inside a forest with no memories of his past, the only thing he was wearing a Gakuran uniform with a snowflake design kimono and a Nichirin blade was white like snow.
The only thing his memories could remember was that Demon Slayer and Breathing technique that's the only thing he can recall.
Since Rai has no memories of his past as he travels to search his memories and past.
During his journey he learned many things that he was in a country call Gallia a neutral nation that didn't get involved war with the Federation and Empire except during the first Europan war.
But it doesn't mean the Empire would stop invading Gallian as it's natural; resources rich in Ragnite that powered their so called machine of war,it was something in his memory about similarity of a powerful nation wanted a resources of an island that had similar ore.
And of course the folks around the country were wary of him being a foreigner since his clothes was different and looks. But some even were awe of his white hair and purple eyes. It was probably due the discrimination of Darcsen as they have darker hair color . And he didn't like it all.
Then he meet Welkin Gunther a person who had an interest with Rai as he never seen a person like him wearing such strange clothes and features. As he asked so many questions, Welkin helped Rai when dealing with angry locals that accused him being a spy.
He still owes Welking a debt as help from fighting with locals and teaching him about the country history and culture.
Then they arrive at Welkin hometown Bruhl as usual Welkin went on his own while Rai went to tavern to have a drink, when he got their the occupants look at him suspiciously is because what he wears or his appearance that wasn't Europa as they say.
Still Rai order a drink but like everything else some of the occupants still didn't like him and shit happens.
"We don't like you outsider , state your business here"
"I don't want any trouble just a drink that's all".
"I think you're a spy"
"I'm not a spy just a traveler coming here for a drink"
"His lying his got to be a spy, he's using a sword."
"Yeah throw him in jail!"
As it didn't took just a minutes that everyone started to surround Rai 'Just being in this town for 5 minutes and I'm already in trouble' it wasn't the first time Rai got into trouble as the locals given him the stink eye of distrust. Due to the war with the Empire was the reason. The tension was high and The locals are afraid that war was coming to Gallia and it was normal to suspect anyone to be a spy even innocent travelers like himself. But doesn't mean he liked it.
And before Rai could fight back the sound of and explosion was heard and the tavern was blown away from the explosion.
His instinct kick in as he duck and cover from the explosion and only a few scrapes and those around him either dead or injured but that wasn't important as soldiers who wore different armors were slaughtering unarmed civilians. One of them saw him and Rai quickly sheathed his Katana ,dash slash the imperial soldier as it's blood spilled it's comrades saw him and Rai quickly fight back.
While Rai was fighting in the frontlines defending the town Bruhl Welkin was heading inside the mansion fighting for his lives with someone named Alicia and his adopted sister Isara are heading for the garage to acquire a tank to fight the Imperials.
The fight continue on as one of the tanks fired the sister Mills destroying and burning it to the ground it was the symbol of the town and was destroyed in minutes. And completely destroyed the old tank that easily as it was piloted by morons.
But what truly save the townfolks was the ice swordsman or Ice Demon as the imperials called Rai as he decimated the Imperial's soldiers as his movement was too fast and he could slice and deflected bullets fire easily.
One of tanks charge at Rai but he quickly dodged to the side and cut the treadmills causing the tank to be out of control as he pull out another Gun and aim near the metal surface of the tank and fired as the sound of fired was heard and hit the driver on the head.
The weapon that Rai used is called 'Door Knocker'. It was a weapon he found from some abandon military research weapon base. It was a somewhat-compact, single-shot, break-open 13mm hand cannon with ammunition specially designed to penetrate the thickest tank armor.
Another perceived advantage of the Door Knocker was the fact that facing something that basically ignores a tank's strongest Armor.
But it wasn't being used due to its weight and immense recoil. Another point was that in order for the gun to be effective, the shooter had to be at point blank range. In other words climb up a moving mechanical metal monster with the capability to shreds and splattered any human within its range.
But for Rai who had abnormal strength for being a Demon Slayer it was easy to use the gun, Plus with his Demon Slayer skill to detect heat he can find the occupants inside the tank and easily use Door Knocker'.
Then he dash towards the second tank and it fired everything at him, Rai couldn't stop so he need to finish it in one strike 'Ice breathing Fourth Form Silent Avalanche' Rai dashed towards the tank with incredible speed. Then swing to deliver a single, powerful horizontal slash that is enough to slash the tank killing the drivers and frozen the tank instantly.
Seeing the destruction of two tanks by a swordman the imperials morale plummeted as one of them started to run then follow by more.
"What are waiting for? Kill that ice demon!" The commander commanded he was shocked seeing two of the Imperial tanks destroyed and his men running away.
"But sir we lost our troop and tanks."
"Why does a person like that-" Then a blade was aim at the commander's throat
"Surrender." Rai demanded.
Alicia, Welkin and Isara arrived at the scene but as their drive 'Edelweiss Gunther tank there wasn't any sight of Imperials soldiers or tanks what they saw was ice and dead soldiers scattering around with frozen wounds.
"What's going is there something happen " Alicia looking confused and scared of the carnage.
"It must be Rai." Welkin said.
"Rai you had someone else with you and didn't tell me?"
"I kinda forgot to mention about him."
"Big brother are you telling me that he did this!"
"Yes, he told me that he was a skilled warrior I just didn't expect such ferocity."
As they drove the tank then Alicia then saw a person waving at them with captured Imperial soldiers.
With the Imperial retreating and Gallia army arriving it could be said they won the battle but so many died in battle. Rai was regroup with Welking and others.
"So you did this?" Alicia looking at the tied up soldiers that surrender.
"You got a problem with me".
"No I thank you for your help".
"That doesn't sound sincere at all I know your type who doesn't like someone else help." It wasn't the first time Rai had met people like that.
"Of course, it's supposed to be us that protects the town, not some outsiders."
"Now now what's important is that we're all safe and alive." Welkin trying to stop the quarrel.
"Let me guess you were treated like a spy didn't you".
Welkin was surprised but knew how sharp Rai perception was "yeah"
"Of course and let me guess she didn't apologies of the false accusation" as Rai pointed out.
Alicia then felt guilty knowing it was the truth as she pointed her weapon at both siblings.
"It doesn't matter and I don't care it seems war is coming we may have won the battle but not the war". As Rai looking at the town destruction knowing this was the turning point.
This idea after reading The Mage and the Engineer and I thought why not using Sword vs tanks as similar from fullmetal alchemist when King Bradley took down a tank with just sword and bombs. Also the door knockers is from pumpkin scissor anime and manga.
