"Phoenix, the Colonel and the doctor are probably deciding what they should do since you're pregnant with Captain Rogers' child." Howard said.

"Well then, it's a good thing that I'll be heading back home then." Phoenix said.

Howard and Peggy were stunned to hear this.

"So, you called us in here to say goodbye then?" Peggy said.

Phoenix nodded and said, "Yes but I also wanted to thank you for everything. After all we are family and I wanted to tell you goodbye before I left."

Howard couldn't believe that his future granddaughter was leaving especially after Steve had just crashed his plane. Apparently, Peggy was thinking the same thing and said, "Why now?"

Phoenix looked at Peggy and said, "If I stay and word gets out to the enemies of Steve that he has a child then..."

"You're referring to Hydra; aren't you, Phoenix?" Howard asked.

Phoenix nodded and said, "Plus, I get this feeling that I'll see Steve again but not exactly sure when."

Both Howard and Peggy walked over to the bed finally and hugged Phoenix; which she gladly returned. Then both Howard and Peggy backed off and before Phoenix was engulfed in a blue light; she said, "It was nice meeting all of you and thank you again."

And with that, Phoenix was gone just as Colonel Phillips and the doctor walked in.

"Where's Agent Phoenix?" Phillips asked curiously.

"She went home." Howard said.

Malibu, California...

Pepper was sitting on the sofa because she had been aware that had a meeting with Nick Fury and wondered how that was going when a blue light flashed before her. She was stunned to see Phoenix standing there once the light died down.

"Hello, Pepper. Where's Dad?" Phoenix said.

"Nix?!" Pepper said in shock and went to hug her, "He's in a meeting with Nick Fury but he'll be glad to know that you're back."

Phoenix noticed the ring on Pepper's finger and said, "I can take wild guess and say Dad finally realized his feelings for you, Pepper."

Pepper blushed but nodded then said, "I probably need to get you caught up on what has happened since you were gone, Nix. Jarvis will help as well."

"Of course, Ms. Potts and it is good to have you back, Ms. Nix."

Phoenix nodded and said, "It's good to be back, Jarvis and when Dad returns; I'll you all some things as well."

Pepper nodded and began telling Phoenix what had happened while she was away. When Pepper finished the story with the help from Jarvis; Pepper waited to see Phoenix's reaction because Tony had said that she wouldn't be happy and apparently, he had been right.

Pepper watched as Phoenix went to Tony's workshop/lab and she hoped that Tony would be back soon because she couldn't shake this feeling that something was bothering Nix or Nix may not be feeling well.

Meanwhile, on the carrier...

Tony was sitting in a room waiting for Fury when he saw a file on him and it had been written by Natasha Romanov; he felt betrayed, angry but worst of all he would hate to see what Phoenix would do when she learned about Agent Romanov infiltrating Stark Industries.

"That's not for you." A voice said.

Tony looked up to see Fury standing there. However, Tony stood his ground sort of speak and said, "Fury, there's one thing that you're not aware of?"

"And what's that, Stark?" Fury said.

"Natasha, may have crossed a line and my goddaughter who is like a daughter to me; is very intelligent and she hates it if anyone we trusted and let into our home betrays that trust." Tony said.

Fury blinked and said, "Stark, is that a threat?"

"No, it's not a threat but considering a warning for Agent Romanov's sake because when Nix finds out; let's just say that Agent Romanov will stepping on pins and needles trying to earn that trust back." Tony said then left.

When Tony left Phil and Natasha walked in.

"I wondered what Stark meant by that?" Natasha questioned.

"Do we have any information on Stark's goddaughter?" Fury asked.

"No, accept what little information that Stark gave us." Phil stated.

Just then, Maria Hill entered the room with a look on her face.

"What is it, Agent Hill?" Fury asked curiously.

"Well, one of our agents came across a crypt code on a file entitled 'Flaming Star Shield' and it's heavily crypted." Hill said.

"Then uncrypt it!" Fury said.

"That's the problem, sir. We are trying to but we can't." Hill said.

"Who would encrypt a file named 'Flaming Star Shield' from SHIELD?" Natasha questioned.

"We don't know and have reason to believe that the file may have been encrypted in the year 1942." Hill said.

"WHAT?!" Fury, Phil, and Natasha said.

"The encryption is like no other encryption and I'm not sure that even Natasha could crack this encryption." Hill said hesitantly.

"Why is that, Agent Hill?" Fury asked curiously.

"Because the encryption code was created by Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Captain America along with a Sargent James 'Bucky' Barnes and a MI6 Agent at that time." Hill stated.

"MI6?!" Phil said.

Everyone turned and looked at automatically Phil. Then Fury asked, "Agent Coulson, do you know something or are you aware of something?"

"Well, I know that Captain America was involved with an MI6 Agent back then from what I found out; however, I don't know her name." Phil said.

Meanwhile, in SHIELD'S Med Bay...

Captain America was fully unthawed from the ice and all he could think about was Phoenix. He knew that he needed to find her and see her.

"Captain Rogers, my name is Dr. Melissa Renee Dobbins. You've been frozen in ice for a long time; so I had the nurse bring you something to eat." Dr. Dobbins said.

Steve just nodded and wanted to test something out because he remembered that he and Phoenix had read some of the magical books a little bit before they had headed back to the base after their steamy night with each other in a magical tent. So, he said softly, "Phoenix?"

Back in Malibu in Tony's workshop...

Phoenix froze and said, "Steve?!" as she stopped at what she was doing. She closed her eyes as she realized what was happening then replied softly, "Steve, where are you? Please tell me that you are okay?"

"I'm fine considering I have been frozen in ice for seventy years. What about you?"

"I'm good but I'm at my father's home in Malibu. I returned to my time after you crashed. Also, Steve, you're going to be a father in nine months."

"I'm going to be a father? Phoenix when did you find out?"

"I fainted on Howard and Peggy as they were helping me up from the radio that we had been talking on to each other. They rushed me to Med Bay immediately and that's when I found out by Howard and Peggy telling me."

"I'm sorry, Phoenix."

"Don't be sorry, Steve because I knew that you were still alive but where are you now?"

"Med Bay at a place called S.H.I.E.L.D. but I'm getting this feeling that I might not get to see you."

"You will but probably not at this very moment but we can still talk telepathically to each other."

"I'll hate that I may not be there with you during those nine months, Phoenix."

"I know but I'll be with my father. And by the way, there's a certain red haired Agent named Natasha Romanov there at SHIELD and I'm not exactly happy with her."

"Why? What did she do?"

"Well, you recall that things got really steamy between and afterwards I told a bit about my father?"

"Yes and why do I get the feeling that I am not going to like what you're about to me?"

"Probably because you won't like it since it concerns your father in law."

"Okay, tell me."

(Steve and Phoenix are still having a telepathic conversation.)

Upstairs in the living room...

Pepper knew Nix was exactly happy by what she was told. Now, she wondered what Tony would do when she told him that Nix was home and that he was going to be grandpa since she would probably be grandma considering her and Tony are finally together now. However, she did wonder if Nix would tell Tony.

Plus, she knew that Nix was upset with Rhodey as well even though, Rhodey and Tony had made up.

At that moment, Tony walked in with Rhodey and Happy behind him. Tony noticed Pepper sitting on the sofa with a smile on her face. Then he said, "Pepper?"

Pepper looked up to see a concerned look on Tony's face and said, "There's nothing to be concerned about Tony but Rhodey better be because she's all caught up on what happened while she was gone, Tony."

Tony's eyes widened at getting the message of you was talking about while Rhodey was standing there confused. However, Happy's reaction was the same as Tony's.

Then Tony said, "Nix is back?!"

Pepper nodded and said, "She's down in your workshop trying to calm herself down and there's more but I think you should hear from her personally, Tony."

"Nix? Who's Nix?" Rhodey said.

Pepper, Tony, and Happy suddenly realized that they had forgotten to tell Rhodey why they had went to London for a few at a time.

"Rhodey, remember when you asked me why I was going to London a lot?" Tony said.

Rhodey nodded.

"Well, it was because of Nix who was my goddaughter at the time and well it was the first time that I met her. She was almost sixteen at the time and I ended up doing a lot of paperwork to become her guardian permanently because she was the daughter of a friend of mine." Tony said which was true in a way.

"Okay? And?" Rhodey questioned.

"We sort of developed a father and daughter bond. Also, she was attending a unique boarding school and the only time we could actually see each other was during the Summer." Tony said .

"During that time, Tony helped his goddaughter with her classes as well as the advanced ones because apparently some of the teachers at her boarding school clearly thought that Nix was ignorant and Tony didn't like that. However, Tony also found out that his goddaughter was never to go and live with her mother's sister." Pepper stated.

"I'm not following?" Rhodey said.

Happy stepped in and said, "Rhodey, we found out that Nix's mother's sister was making Nix cook from the age three and that they had her doing all the chores while her Aunt's son stuffed himself like a pig."

Rhodey's eyes went wide with shock and said, "Are you all saying that Tony's goddaughter was neglected and abused?!"

Tony hated bringing it up because it always brought him to tears but Rhodey needed to know and said, "Yeah, she was Rhodey. She was fourteen years old when she found out that I existed but she feared for my safety of all things that she waited until she was almost sixteen to contact me!"

Rhodey faced Tony suddenly and saw tear stains on his face meaning that what Tony was telling him was true.

Suddenly, they heard someone coming up from Tony's workshop then heard soft and sweet, "Dad? Jarvis said that som..." Tony ran towards the voice and hugged what appeared to be young woman.

Rhodey watched as the young woman returned Tony's hug and had questioning look on her face.

"Sorry, Nix but we were telling Colonel Rhodes about y..." Before Happy could finish Nix's fist connected to Rhodey's jaw which knocked Rhodey backwards.

"Dad, I need to speak with you and Happy would get an ice pack for Colonel Rhodes." Phoenix said.

"Sure thing, Nix." Happy said as he watched Nix put a barrier.

Rhodey got up and took the ice pack from Happy then said, "Damn, she can pack a punch."

Pepper laughed and said, "You have Tony to think for that as well as her MI6 training."

"What do you mean I have Tony to thank? And what do you mean MI6 Training?" Rhodey questioned curiously.

"When Tony started staying in contact with Nix; he helped her in anyway that he could. Nix decided to inform the Queen of England about what was happen that Queen herself suggested that MI6 help her in training for an upcoming situation that would affect all of Britain. Then after what was done, the Queen offered Nix a job with MI6 and..." Pepper trailed off after there was a loud thud behind them.

They saw Nix's eyes wide with shock as if she hadn't expected that reaction from Tony who was now passed out on the floor.

"I'm guessing you told him then, Nix?" Pepper questioned.

Phoenix nodded and said, "I told him but I didn't expect that reaction. I thought he would actually be mad and cuss up a storm. Or even want to blast the man's personal bits to peices."

"Nix?!"

"Sorry, darling. I wasn't exactly sure how he was going to take the news, Steve."

"What exactly did you tell Tony?" Rhodey asked curiously.

Phoenix looked at Rhodey for a moment before answering. .

"Nix, did punch your father's best friend because some how I can see a bruise forming on his cheek."

"Well, I was upset with him; however, I could be wrong but I think the super serum and my magic are insyc with other which means our child or even children should we decide to have a big family inherit both magic and possibly what you recieved from the super serum in theory ; of course."

"Well, it will be interesting. Also, I meant to ask but why is your father passed out"

"I told him that he was going to be a grandpa and that you were the father. I was actually expecting a different reaction than to him passing out. Sorry about earlier though, dear."

"Yes well I am sure that some men would loose their man bits by their father in law and I'm most fathers would do that. So, I think I understand your surpise at his reaction considering he took it rather well."

"Then why do I feel like I'll get a different reaction from Uncle Rhodey considering he'll probably want me to call that."

Steve gulped and said, "I don't know."

"Well, what did you tell Tony, Nix?" Rhodey asked again.

Phoenix was still looking at Rhodey and finally answered, "I told him that he was going to be a grandfather."

Rhodey was wide eyed as well as Happy then Rhodey said, "Who would deflower my neice?!"

Phoenix rolled her eyes and said, "I'm not a teenager, Rhodey."

"That's Uncle Rhodey to you; young lady!" Rhodey barked.

Tony was coming around and was hearing Rhodey scolding Phoenix with Pepper and Happy trying to stop him.

"Rhodey, stop!" Tony said but it was too late Phoenix disappeared in flames.

"What just happened?" Rhodey questioned.

Tony didn't answer he went to go find Nix immediately.

Pepper and Happy sighed. Then Pepper said, "Wait to go! Rhodey!"

"What did I do?" Rhodey questioned.

"Certain tones of a male's voice still affects Nix a bit at times." Happy said.

Meanwhile...

Tony had managed to find Phoenix as she was in her animagus form which was of course was a Phoenix. He noticed that she was shaking and said, "Nix?"

The beautiful bird looked up at Tony. Tony spoke softly to the bird, "Hey kiddo, are you okay? Is it safe for you to be in that form?"

The bird changed back and said, "Dad, I'm sorry. Steve and I didn't exactly have much of a choice."

"Oh, Nix. I am not angry with Captain Rogers. I am stunned to be a grandpa though but you know when I got to know you finally; I had been terrified of being Godfather let alone being a Dad at the time before you came into my life." Tony said.

"Dad, Steve believes that S.H.I.E.L.D. may keep him from finding us. He says that he'll be in Brooklyn, New York but that's all he can say at the moment." Phoenix said.

Tony smiled and said, "Well, I did start building Stark Tower in New York and I do have to do some more things there soon. If SHIELD still decides to keep my son-in-law away from his wife and child then we'll have to figure out how get him there."

"And if SHIELD will not let near Stark Tower, Dad?" Phoenix questioned curiously.

Tony sighed for a moment then said, " He'll be there in spirit and telepathically."

"He's got a point there, Phoenix."

"I know, Steve. I just wish you were here with us."

"I will be eventually but then you'll be good hands, sweetheart. I have feeling that Fury will want find out about you."

"Well, he will have to wait until the nine months are up or he'll have to deal with a very angry MI6 Agent named Phoenix Stark!"

"To honest, I would love to see that."

"Do you trust the one named Agent Phil Coulson?"

"I'm about to find out. I'll let you know."

" Okay, Captain."

"I'm happy hear you call me Captain again, My Phoenix ."

Phoenix felt the telepathic connection cut off and smiled letting her father now that she had spoken with Steve.

Tony returned the smile and said, "Feel better?"

"A little bit but Rhodey may want to watch what he says and does over these nine months." Phoenix stated.

Tony chuckled at that and walked Phoenix back inside.

Meanwhile back with Steve...

"Captain, Fury has suggested that we set you up in an apartment in Brooklyn." Phil said.

Steve smiled and said, "I would like to see how Brooklyn looks now."

"Captain, if you don't mind me asking about the ring?" Phil asked.

"The ring represents a promise that I made to a beautiful young woman and she wears the twin of the ring." Steve said.

"But looks like a wedding band?" Phil said.

"That was the idea because sometimes when you in war; you have to improvise especially if you were working with a female MI6 Agent that reports directly to the Queen of England." Steve said blushing a bit.

Phil blinked and asked, "What happened?"

"We fell in love while we were working with each other and the rings were designed for is. So we made a promise of love on the rings." Steve said giving some truth about the rings.

Phil was stunned to hear that and asked, "May I ask what the promise was?"

"Our promise was to each other was to marry after the war. I also told her that I would meet her father and ask his permission to do so; however, myself and the Howling Commandos were sent out the next day and you probably get the idea what happened between us before I had headed out." Steve said.

Phil flushed as he realized what Steve was telling him.

"The reason that I am telling you this is because I am trusting you, Phil. My personal life is none of SHIELD'S business." Steve said, "Plus, I have a feeling that you may be the one that will meet her and not Fury. Since her father already knows you as well as Fury. I take it that you are trying to open a file from 1942?"

Phil nodded.

"Good luck because the encryption can only be opened by family." Steve said.

Phil blinked at that then walked out of the room and headed to tell Fury what he found out about the rings.

Somewhere on the Carrier...

Fury was talking with Natasha about the file that was encrypted and asked if she had any luck with that.

"Sorry, Fury but no I haven't. It's too encrypted." Natasha said.

Just then, Phil walked in and said, "Natasha, you won't be able to open that because according to the Captain; it can be only opened by family."

"What do you mean, Phil?" Natasha asked.

"Captain Rogers mentioned that the encryption code can only be opened by family." Phil said.

"And does Captain America know that?!" Fury questioned.

"Apparently, I am taking a wild guess and saying that Captain Steve Rogers, the MI6 Agent, Howard Stark, Agent Peggy Carter, and one other created the encryption code for that file and acted like a family of sorts." Phil stated.

Fury blinked at hearing that.

Natasha looked at Phil and said, "Are you saying that Tony Stark could possibly open this file?!"

"It's a possibility." Phil said.

Back in Malibu...

Tony, Pepper, Phoenix, and Happy were packing several things for their trip to New York. Tony that morning had contacted the contractor to add a family wing to the penthouse apartment at the Tower. However, unbeknownst to some; the company that Tony had used to build Stark Tower was a Wizarding Construction Company. Now all Tony would have to do was connect the power of the arch reactor to the Tower.

Tony reflected a moment:

Since Phoenix came into his life things had definitely changed. He was no longer afraid of being a godfather/father figure to her. In fact, you could say that Phoenix had helped him tremendously when it had come to that.

Phoenix even introduced him to the similarities of Magicl and non-magical things as well as the differences.

He had also hated what his goddaughter had been through and what the British Magical Community wanted her to do. But he was upset because one minute the British Magicals would be praising and the next minute; they would literally call her lair and say she was dark.

Through it all, she had turned out okay after she told him that she would like him to permanently be her guardian in both worlds in secret. She had told him that she had wanted to catch up on her non-magical studies during the Summer Holidays away from the Magical World of Britain which he had agreed to.

In doing so, he found out exactly how intelligent she was; of course they had secretly kept in contact with code names for each other and she had made the parchment where only she could read it and the same had been for him.

However, the real test came when she had to face Voldemort for the final time. He recalled the short goodbye that Nix had written him and he hates it because he felt like he was losing her after they had just gotten to know each other.

He recalled how the British Magical Community reacted when they saw him ,Pepper, and Happy on the platform to pick her up. Especially a plump little woman with red hair who had the nerve to berate him of all people; until Nix told her to back off or lawyers would be involved both Magical and non-magical.

He remembered that the woman stuttered and asked Nix who he was to her and she plainly to the woman that it was none of her damn business who he, Pepper, and Happy were to her.

However, he recalled the woman's husband just smiling at Nix and had said that he was glad that she had some people that deeply cared for. As were the elder Weaseley boys.

He had also noticed that Phoenix hadn't spoken to Ron Weaseley or Hermione Granger who were supposedly her best friends but decided to a boy named Neville Longbottom and a girl named Luna Lovegood.

"Dad? Dad!"

Tony snapped out of his thoughts and turned towards Nix.

"Dad, are you okay?" Nix asked curiously.

"Yeah, Nix. I was actually thinking about how you changed my life." Tony said.

"Well, you changed my life too, Dad." Nix said with a smile.

"And it seems to be getting better considering that I am young grandpa to be and will eventually have son-in-law by non-magical means even though he's already my son-in-law by magical means." Tony said.

Phoenix laughed and said, "Don't forget that you and Pepper are dating which makes Pepper, mom as well as a young grandma."

Tony's eyes widened and said, "You're right, Nix. Which makes Rhodey and Happy your Uncles."

Phoenix sighed and said, "Rhodey made that perfectly clear that he was Uncle Rhodey, Dad. As for Happy being an Uncle that is special because he was there when you and mom met me for the first time."

"I know and not many people can say that they have Captain America as a son-in-law either." Tony said sarcastically.

"Dad, I told Steve what you were like because he was terrified of what you would think about him." Nix said.

Tony blinked and said, "Captain America was scared of what I would think of him?"

Phoenix nodded and said, "However, he asked me if you were anything like your father."

"What did you tell him?" Tony asked curiously.

"I told him if he had received a lecture from Grandpa Howard and thought that was bad. I told him to think about receiving a lecture from you while you were still in your Iron man suit." Phoenix said.

Tony chuckled and said, "I'm assuming that this particular conversation probably took place after the steamy and passionate sex that you two didn't really have any control over?"

Phoenix flushed and nodded.

"Sorry, Nix." Tony said.

"It's okay, Dad. Just don't ever use the words 'steamy and passionate sex' ever again especially if a soulmate bond is in place. On second thought, you better be prepared yourself because it will happen to you and mom (Pepper)." Phoenix said.

Tony paled.

"Unless that has already happened between the two of you?" Phoenix questioned curiously.

Tony literally blushed because he didn't think his daughter would tease him like she was doing.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Brooklyn...

Steve had just entered the apartment that SHIELD was going to pay for him to live in. He knew that SHIELD would be determined to find out about his wife but also knew that his father-in-law wouldn't take it too kindly if SHIELD even thought about trying to recruit Phoenix.

Although, he did have to wonder if the Queen and MI6 would let Phoenix have maternity leave as he looked around the apartment. He had to admit that the apartment looked nice but not as nice as the Magical tent that he and Phoenix had spent the night in as the bond had made them completely horny for one another.
