Epilogue
Surprise! You didn't think I'd just end this season off without a preview of what's potentially to come did you? Well here we are at the epilogue of this story. Hope you all enjoy it!
[Outside Silicon City, Gamma Robot wreckage, day.]
It's been two days already and we're still cleaning up the mess. As far as the public is concerned this was a massive terrorist attack. All mentions pertaining to Dr. Wily, his fusion with Gideon Gate, or possible alien encounters has since been made classified on the highest level. Course the knowledge of Mega-Man's involvement hit the media by storm, much to General Night's annoyance. Then again having been captured by a bunch of kids and having to be coerced into working with them afterwards can put a damper on one's attitude. Or so I hear. "Agent Signas, I want an update." Speak of the devil, I lift up my tablet and address the general over video call. "Still searching, sir. We haven't yet found any sign of Wily." "No one could've survived that crash. He's toast. And good riddance. What a mess that lunatic made. And Gate?" "Still inactive sir." On day one we had found Gideon Gate, or rather what's left of him, wandering around nearby in a dazed, weakened state. Still not sure what happened to him but according to the medics, It'll be a miracle if he ever manages to form a full sentence again let alone a coherent thought.
Frankly I can't help but feel sorry for the kid. If his file is any indication he's certainly had it rough. Not that the general cares about it. To him it just means one less troublemaker to keep track of. "Alright then. Keep up the clean up operation and report back as soon as you can. I've got a new assignment for you." "Sir, before that there's something else. When we were wiping Wily off our database, we found something: a file buried deep in our system and dating back over 36 years." Hearing that news seems to catch the general's attention. "What was it?" "Coordinates, sir." "Coordinates, to what?" "A secret research facility. According to the file it was a black site, sir." Our data guys had a hard time even getting that much.
The file had a deep encryption sequence the likes of which we've never seen before. "Someone worked very hard to keep this hidden." The general's expression turns to shock and then slight fear. In all the years I've worked for him he's always seemed mostly calm and collected. I didn't even think the general could get scared. However, as soon as I finished reporting that stone cold expression falls completely short and breaks like an egg being dropped off a roof and hitting the sidewalk below. What could be in this file that would scare a hardened war veteran like Night like this? I get my answer as soon as he finally speaks. Course in a few seconds I'm gonna wish I hadn't. "My God... Project Bass." For years there had been rumors about how a while back the military were attempting to create the ultimate robotic soldier.
But then when they deployed it in the field, the power it wielded was enough for it to single handedly wipe out a small country in the middle east. Deeming it too dangerous to use, the government shut down the project and destroyed the robot. Or least, that was the official report anyway. If the general's reaction is any indication, that means not only is the project real… but also there's a possibility the robot wasn't destroyed. Frankly it makes me shudder just to imagine what kind of destruction could ensue if such a weapon were ever to be unleashed upon the world.
[Black site.]
In a room covered in ice a series of computers and machines roar to life and start powering up. A few moments later a pod breaks through the ice and slowly rises up out of the floor. The inside lights up with a dark orange glow revealing a robot clad in black armor with gold lining inside with heavy looking restraints on its legs, arms, and midsection. On their chest, there is a triangular blue-ish purple crystal while their face has purple stripes running down from their eyes and extending down their cheeks. Their helmet features large yellow fins that resemble that of a cobra, and a cross-shaped blue jewel on the forehead. Suddenly the robot awakens, with their eyes flaring up in a dark red color and pulsing with energy. After 36 years in cryogenic stasis, the robotic weapon designated as Bass is activated once again.
BOOM BABY! How's that for a preview?! I know it was short compared to the prologue but hey I did manage to extend it a little bit from the original source material. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it all the same. Also for my next story endeavor I will be focusing on working on Godzilla: New Dawn. If you haven't checked it out yet I hope you get a chance to give it a brief look.
And now final replies to this story:
Theoldblood98: Thanks.
Emerald the Lynx: Don't worry, the pizza didn't reach behind his helmet since he looked straight up. Lol.
Nonny Mouse: Well I've been racking my own brain about that. And the answer is… human-like alien. Since the Roll I'm using technically comes from the legends series, and since Roll wasn't a robot in those games, I figure why not? After all, the universe can't be populated solely by robots. Least not in this series.
HEROS Central: Thank you. I'll be sure to let you guys know of any previews for future stuff when I think of them.
Anyway until next time everyone this is Tardispilot297 saying… ALLONSY, and MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOOOOOUUUU!
