PHASE-12: Uprising
The present, C.E. 72 - Earth
After almost 12 hours of voyage in space, the Gilgamesh made a safe atmospheric entry onto Earth. Through Rio's direction, she tasks Victor to land on Onogoro Island for re-supplying. Onogoro being an island for Orb's military facility, this will allow the Gilgamesh crew to gain access to Morgenroete.
By the time sunset had passed, the Gilgamesh landed on the waters of Onogoro Island. Rio then contacts the security personnel inside the naval base to give permission the Gilgamesh entry.
"Attention to all security personnel. This is Rio Nagi Tokino of the Tokino family, we've come here to bring in this warship into this base. Requesting permission to enter."
The security force replied, "Permission granted, Lady Rio. The ship can now proceed."
Just that, the Gilgamesh is given sanctuary in Orb. And from Morgenroete's Shipbuilding facility's hangar, Team Paradox disembark from the Gilgamesh. The five members felt so relieved now that they managed to return safely to Earth.
"Man, that was one hell of a ride.", Ian stretched his arms.
"Not to mention that we had to time travel back into the past, only to return back into space.", Flay added.
"That's an adventure worth remembering.", Rio concluded. Then, turns her attention to Kiryu. "Are you feeling alright? The fact that you suddenly recovered from your alcohol poisoning in just the span of 10 to 12 hours surprises me. Normally, anyone who got excessively intoxicated can easily die if they were to be left unchecked."
"Don't worry about it.", Kiryu replied. "At least I can finally look on how what the Earth looks like in this time period."
"By the way... The Gilgamesh crew are more than just a resistance.", Ian continued. "They're also space pirates. They managed to snag a lot of JUNO-related technology and use it as their own, and in addition to your typical pirate stereotyping."
"At least they are on our side.", Akiza shrugged. "By the way, where's Vic and the twins?"
"Lookin' for us, lassie?", the captain of the Gilgamesh along with Trent and Trevor surprise the team from behind. "Who would've thought a neutral country like Orb be so generous to take our galley in?"
"The Archangel used to stop here.", Flay remembers the time the Archangel at one point having landed on Orb, except for the second time after JOSH-A as she was already abducted by Le Creuset at the time. "This is a neutral country after all. Unless if you try and do something funny to piss them off..."
"Hmm... She's got a point.", Rio likewise shrugged her shoulders, backing Flay's earlier sentence. "Being a neutral country, Orb will not involve themselves in the conflict of other nation, nor attack another nation. Just etch them into your mind and you'll be fine."
"Aye...", Vic finally got the gist of it. "Thanks for the tip, lass. This is the first time we landlubbers bein' able to arrive on Earth."
"You can look around the outside world if you like. You guys can find a place to call home in this era.", Kiryu suggests to the Gilgamesh crew to take refuge on Earth. "Our homes might be gone, but there's no problem starting a new life here."
As the team head upstairs for the lobby, they run into a woman with long brown hair. Flay apparently knows this person.
"Hey, isn't that... Captain Ramius?"
"Flay Allster? How did you wind up with Orb's military?", Murrue is surprised at the sight of Flay, now wearing an Orb military uniform. Within moments, her eyes are on Akiza, as if she saw her from somewhere. "Aren't you the pilot of that strange mobile suit that entered the Archangel?"
Because of the time loop due to undoing Flay's death the second time, Murrue now knows who Akiza is, on top of rescuing Flay in the crossfire.
"Yeah.", Akiza fessed up. "It's complicated, due to the fact that my mobile suit is capable of time travel."
"Time travel?! You're from the future?", the former captain of the Archangel exclaimed.
"Me, my adoptive brother, and father figure right here, are from 76 years into the future, where an AI annihilated almost 98% percent of the Earth's population, and we are the surviving humans of that future, along with the people who are in that other ship called the Gilgamesh."
"I see... Which probably explained that you actually rescued Flay during the final offensive at Jachin Due."
"Actually, this has already happened before.", Akiza elaborated. "In the original timeline, Flay's shuttle was shot down by Le Creuset's mobile suit. However, when I first arrived, I was the one who alarmed Kira Yamato of the shuttle, buying him enough time to collect the shuttle and send it into the Archangel, in the process creating a time paradox. The second divergence happened when a monster just emerged from out of nowhere in that time period, and we had to repeat the divergence again in order to defeat that thing, ultimately becoming a stable time loop."
"Meaning, you people who witnessed the whole ordeal remember the whole thing, and at the same time finally knew Akiza.", Kiryu backed up some facts. "So, Flay's death has been undone twice."
Since Captain Ramius, Sai, Miriallia, along with the rest of the Three Ships Alliance were present at the time, they finally know who Akiza is along with the Paradox. Murrue is even shocked about that Flay supposedly died in the original timeline, which was already erased by Akiza and her Paradox Gundam.
"I didn't know you guys were able to pull something like that. But, it's a miracle you survived, Flay.", Murrue replied.
"Captain Ramius, I'm sorry about what happened to Commander La Flaga... and to Lieutenant Badgiruel.", Flay brought up after what happened after escaping the Dominion. She then told Murrue that it was Azrael who fired the Lohengrin while Natarle was trying to buy the crewmen enough time to escape. But alas, Natarle was unable to make it out in one piece, and decided to meet her end with dignity and allowed to sacrifice herself to send Azrael straight to Hell.
"Don't worry about it. I know Mu is watching me elsewhere.", Murrue continued. "The war is already over. It's best we just want to live a normal life. I'm surprised that you ended up enlisting in Orb's military. What are you planning to achieve, Flay?"
"I still have many mistakes to atone to.", Flay replied. "I've said and done so many horrible things during the war, especially towards Kira. But, I don't want that to let it determine my own future.", at the same time Murrue seems to acknowledge the fact that Flay changed herself for the better after being saved from death twice. "The war changed all of us. And the fact that I couldn't escape from the horrors of it shows that I have been, and always been scared the whole time."
"I understand what you're saying. But that's what it is. It seems that you were able to process everything after the war."
"And here I am now, still alive and uncertain of what the future holds. Even if that's the case, we'll just have to move forward and don't look back. It was trusting new people that I was able to understand that.", Flay continued, all while bringing up Kiryu's words to her back in the Gilgamesh as part of her reason to atone for her sins. "Thanks to my new friends, I finally know what is like to relate with their pain and sorrow. And Kiryu even told me that someday that our sins maybe forgiven, but for now, what we do to atone for it is what makes us be worthy of forgiveness."
Murrue smiled in return, seeing how Flay having growing out of her shell recently thanks to her newfound friends, or rather, being part of a family of unrelated people who had their own fair share of emotional and psychological scars.
"I'm happy that you've changed, Flay. Kira may also feel the same way about you.", the former captain of the Archangel commends Flay's development as a person. "Say, have you ever talked to him?"
"No, I haven't. It's for the best that Kira deserves Lacus more than me. I want him to be happy with her.", Flay understood how Lacus is strongly important to Kira's life than her, now that her heart already found its rightful place on Akiza. "I already found someone who truly understood my pain and helped me confront my inner demons.", as she looked at Akiza, Murrue already got the gist of it, and for added kicker this is, in fact, the same person who saved Flay from death, at the expense of changing the future.
"I see... I hate to admit it, she's very pretty.", Murrue giggled, and seems to be supportive of Flay and her lesbian girlfriend.
"We better get going back to the HQ. I'll go and pay him a visit some time.", Flay then waves goodbye to Murrue as Team Paradox leaves the shipyard.
The team returned to their headquarters. There's also a dormitory next to the team's main compound, since it's vacant, Vic and the Payne twins can now take shelter there.
"Home sweet home. It felt like that adventure to the past was like yesterday.", said Rio.
Akiza replied, "I guess everyone's tired from the voyage.", while carrying Dr. Paradox's Haro body. "Let's call it a night then."
[20:00 Hours]
In his quarters, as Kiryu looked himself in the mirror as he looked a bit more unkempt and outlandish ever since he managed to reunite with his foster children, he felt something a bit off and its not necessarily his well-being. This is the first time he's been conscious about his looks, given that he had grew a beard.
"I've been used getting into physical fights, fighting killer robots trying to kill all of humanity, and time traveling... But, to think I've been looking like a homeless tramp for most of my life really had me wondering about my looks.", Kiryu mumbled to himself curiously. "Guess I need is a shave."
Kiryu pulled out a razor to shave off his beard, but before that, he had to lather his chin and both cheeks with shaving cream. He carefully shaved on the part where the cream is lathered on his beard without risking of scraping himself. Only a matter of minutes, he managed to get a clean shave without leaving a scratch on his face.
But, the fact that its already late and some of the barber shops are closed. Kiryu will just have to wait until a knock from the door suddenly drew his attention.
When he opened the door, it turned out to be Flay delivering his Orb military outfit.
"It's you.", sighed Kiryu.
"Rio asked me to give it to you. That's your uniform while part of both Orb's military and as a member of Team Paradox.", said Flay. "We've been busy hunting down Blue Cosmos members that are hiding here in Orb. Ian's been doing that job well."
"I know what you're saying. Since the likelihood of another war between the PLANTs and the Alliance will be inevitable, Blue Cosmos' influence only worsened the hostilities between Coordinators and Naturals. That Junius Seven Treaty did not do anything to declare them as illegal.", Kiryu replied.
"Aki also told me that... And the fact that my father had a dark secret that I'm not aware of, it seems that his sins are also my sins, too."
Flay brought up her first encounter with Rio that the latter revealed that Flay's father, George Allster, the former Vice Minister of the Atlantic Federation is also a member of Blue Cosmos. The revelation shook Flay at her core, realizing that her hatred of Coordinators was not only born from ignorance, but it's the fact that her father's ties with Azrael made her realize that she is also bearing her father's sins.
"When parents sin, their children suffer...", Kiryu got the gist of Flay's thoughts about Blue Cosmos. "Akiza herself have been feeling the same way. It's because she was a descendant of the Zala family. Chairman Patrick Zala went overboard with GENESIS to wipe out all life on Earth. In Akiza's childhood, being a descendant of the Zalas was a sure way to be lynched for being the descendant of a genocidal warmonger.", more recently, Kiryu heard the news of unrest among Coordinators in the PLANTs, following the acquittal of a ZAFT soldier who was guilty of shooting down a civilian shuttle. "Even Coordinators in the PLANTs began turning on each other after the war. From what I heard, a rift has formed among them because on how they see this genetic racism going way out of hand. Those people loyal to Patrick Zala's anti-Natural sentiments are sure to be lynched by anti-war activists in the worst possible way."
Since Akiza did mention a civil war in the PLANTs in the future, the lynching Yzak was facing after his acquittal is a merely just a foreshadowing of the future.
"Flay, just because your father was associated with Blue Cosmos, you don't have to take it upon yourself even if people will judge you for it. You are just a victim of the war like everyone else.", Kiryu reminds Flay in the same way how Akiza told her not to let her past sins dictate her future. "Atoning for your sins is your own goal, not your father's. Because that is the path you take, and that's your real destiny."
Flay nodded and lowered her head briefly. She realized that Kiryu is pretty much wiser despite being his hunky appearance and dark past.
"Kira could have said the same thing to me. But, as with my friends who got roped into the war... We were young and fearing for our lives. And I was scared of one bloodshed after another. The fact I ended up meeting Aki and yourself, I was given another chance in life and find my own path."
"If you need any help in something, I'd be happy to listen and give you some advice.", Kiryu taps Flay in the shoulder. "In fact, this is how we bonded together like a real family. We always look out for each other, even if we are apart."
"Thanks... It feels like that this family is complete with the head of the table.", Flay smiled before taking notice at Kiryu's clean-shaven face. "Wait, did you just shaved? And, you haven't got a haircut?"
"It's late. I'll just have to find a barber shop tomorrow."
"Oh no, you're not! Let me help you with that.", Flay then pulls an empty blanket and a pair of scissors.
"Flay, don't. Mess up my hair, and Akiza is so going to kill you!", Kiryu tells Flay to let a real barber do the haircut. In fact, Akiza is the only person who trims his hair back in their world. "And make sure it doesn't look like a pair of crab horns, as if I resemble a certain Turbo Duelist."
But, Flay isn't having any of it and she's going to pull out all the stops to trim Kiryu's hair. When Flay continues persisting, Kiryu had no other choice but to play along. That being said, while in the bathroom and Kiryu picks up a chair while he gets his hair trimmed.
Flay carefully spruced his hair even when under constant pressure. She has never done this before, much less to either Kira or Sai. One mistake and she could inadvertently mess his hair. Either way, it took Flay just 10 minutes to finally trim Kiryu's hair. Right now, Kiryu looks more handsome than ever.
Meanwhile, Akiza and Ian walked passed by on Kiryu's quarters as Flay emerges out. Within moments, Kiryu gets out of the room with a new look.
"Lookin' good. Who the fuck gave you that haircut?", said Ian, only to quickly guess that this was Flay's doing.
"You gave him a haircut?", Akiza could barely contain her chuckle in surprise. "I mean. I'm the only one who does that. But hey... At least Kiryu's finally back on how he looks like."
"Seriously, Flay. You should be dating hunks in Kiryu's caliber.", Ian commented.
"Sorry, I'm not interested.", Kiryu reveals that he is celibate, uninterested in forming romantic relationships.
"While Kiryu's been both a dad and a big brother to us, he's really not into romantic relationships.", Akiza added.
A minute later, Akiza and Flay immediately return to their quarters, only to find a familiar longer bed in place of theirs. Rio emerges from the bathroom after taking a shower.
"Rio? I thought this is our quarters.", Flay facepalmed herself.
The Iron Lady replied, "I decided to give my room to Kiryu. Since this building had four rooms. I came up with the idea sharing this room together, I had my master's bed moved here."
"Well, sharing is caring. Not to mention, it's just three ladies and two guys.", Akiza sighed in resignation and decided to respect Rio's decision.
"Aki?!", Flay pouted, not liking the idea of sharing the same bed with Rio not unlike the last time when they had a threesome.
"Come on, Flay. There's nothing we can do about that. And besides, it's just the three of us sharing a room while Kiryu and Ian are on their own separate rooms."
"It's not like we're going to have another threesome again. That will be on another day.", Rio added. "Besides, it feels so right that we have Kiryu Fudo Nagare enlisted in the team. Say, I wonder what that fellow is up to?"
Akiza brought up Flay sprucing up Kiryu earlier, "Flay, of all people, gave him a haircut. And she managed to do it right in less than a minute, and Kiryu looked handsome as ever." as she undresses and puts on her bath robe before taking a shower.
"Unbelievable. To think he's such a handsome devil..."
Flay then imitates Kiryu's words from earlier, "And he said, "Sorry, I'm not interested.", saying that he's not into romantic relationships."
"How pitiful... To think he had endured 70 years of perpetual torment in the future while not forming meaningful relationships, let alone his adoptive children."
"At least we all learned something from him thanks to Aki.", Flay assured that Akiza was raised well by Kiryu, considering he was a good father figure to her, given that she ran away from her home after a tumultuous childhood being bullied for her Zala lineage. "It's their familial bond that somehow directed us to the right path. But, after what he told me about what he had been through, there's more to him than meets the eye."
"What's that?"
"Is that they're willing to get their hands dirty for the greater good.", Flay brings up that Kiryu (and by extension, Akiza and Ian) have no problem being morally grey when given the opportunity. "Rio, is that even possible? Besides fighting, why there are people want to do something that's seen as "necessary evil"?"
"Necessary evil, you're saying?", Rio replied. "That's the reality of war. No one can see the difference between right from wrong. In war, the body counts continue to rise, and there are no winners and losers, just casualties. But, those who lived to tell the tale are the ones writing it. History is written by the victors. But, the history they engrave are the sort of lies that would be twisted into their truth."
Judging by Rio's speech, there can be no winner or loser in a war. War is indeed a political game, in order to survive, one must be more willing to lie and even manipulate to get ahead of their enemies, and even kill to achieve those goals. As Cagalli is currently the Chief Representative of Orb, succeeding her father Lord Uzumi, Rio still views Cagalli as somewhat naive despite being the adopted daughter of the Lion of Orb, and the fact that her brother is Kira Yamato is not helping matters.
"Lady Cagalli will only do what she needs to do to preserve Orb's ideals and stance towards conflict.", Rio continued. "Only Mina of the Sahaku family who has more political influence and her ruthlessness, she is more willing to get her hands dirty when needed. That's why I also learned a thing or two from her. I decided to establish Team Paradox per Akiza's suggestion, regardless if I have to break the oath of not partaking in conflicts of other nations."
"Why?"
"You need to understand this phrase, Flay: "Good guys finish last". Sometimes, you should have the willingness to forego your moral boundaries if you are willing to step into the battlefield and protect you care about. But, whatever you do will make you feel uncomfortable in response."
Rio admits that she formed Team Paradox in order to wipe out any Blue Cosmos element hiding in Orb, knowing that she would more likely break her nation's oath of not involving themselves in the conflicts of other nations. She claims that this is a "necessary evil". Considering how she was mentored by the Sahakus, Rio is prepared to do whatever means necessary to protect Orb.
"So, like for instance... Are you even willing to kidnap the family of a Blue Cosmos member to get information, or even try and kill them in front of him?", Flay asks Rio, testing her moral compass.
"Hmph. That depends.", Rio confidently replied. "When extreme situations demand extreme measures, you must be ready to do what's necessary. Then again, your reaction will depend on your own actions."
"Rio..."
"Maybe Akiza does feel the same way. As she is from the future, after all. In a world where robots have dominated humanity, it's a do-or-die situation. Should you hesitate, it's over.", Rio lectured even further. "Since Akiza and the other two have been warning us of the inevitability of another war, preparedness is the key. You have to be prepared for everything."
After the two ladies contemplate about their moral perspectives of the war, Flay then went on to take a shower.
The next day...
Inside the conference room, Team Paradox, Victor, the Payne twins, and Dr. Paradox himself are conducting a war room meeting. And Dr. Paradox himself will be the ones leading the discussions, especially regarding JUNO's creation and what happened after the second war.
The professor first advice the team to leave whatever electronic devices in their person at their quarters.
"Before we can start this meeting, I would like to remind everyone to leave behind their electronic devices - especially their G-Phones at their quarters."
"We already did.", Flay said, "Aki told me earlier."
"For the sake of confidentiality, I assume...", Rio added.
"It's more than just keeping this meeting confidential. Because our discussion will also involve events that are yet to happen in the future. That means, any information you learned throughout this discussion should be kept in memory. As soon as we leave this conference room, all information everyone has learned should be kept in secrecy at all costs."
"Aye...", Vic nodded. "Let's get this started, doc."
Ian had the doors locked and turned off the lights, within moments, Dr. Paradox opened his Haro mouth, revealing a projector as the scientist begin showing a presentation of sequences of events in the future.
"Umm... Doc.", Flay raised her hand.
"What is it, Ms. Allster?"
"Is it true there's going to be another war between the PLANTs and the Alliance?"
"Yes. The inevitability of another war will be 95% percent. But, this war is needed to happen before everything else that happened in the future to occur."
Both Akiza and Kiryu began adding the facts, starting with the fatal flaw of the Junius Treaty.
Akiza began, "Ever since the climactic battle of Jachin Due, a peace treaty was signed. All national boundaries on Earth had to be restored to status quo ante bellum. As such, nations that were previously conquered by the EA like Orb became independent again. Some of ZAFT's bases here on Earth were abandoned, with exception of Gibraltar and Carpentaria. Nuclear technologies like N-Jammers and N-Jammer Cancelers were prohibited from military use. The same can be said with Mirage Colloids."
Kiryu then followed, "However, there's a loophole that was never written on the treaty - the lack of accountability of extremists such as Blue Cosmos. As anti-Coordinator sentiments remain rampant around the Atlantic Federation."
Rio then added, "Also, some members of Blue Cosmos are hiding in Orb. And based from a source that I obtained, the Seirans have been sheltering members of Blue Cosmos here in Orb. That said, I placed the Seirans under surveillance so to see if Prime Minister Unato Ema Seiran has connections with those extremists, on top of establishing Team Paradox as an Anti-Blue Cosmos Task Force Unit."
"So long those clowns control the Atlantic Federation, those reds in space will be going to war again with the Alliance.", Ian added. "And to top it all off, the Alliance have been sending their pseudo-Coordinators to fight for them..."
"They're actually called Biological CPUs, Ian.", Kiryu corrects Ian.
"Whatever.", Ian turns to Flay, "Hey, Allster. Do you remember Azrael's three attack dogs back in the Dominion? Those are the same druggies that he sent to fight the Archangel. Don't tell me you haven't seen those assholes while you were in the Dominion, haven't you?"
Flay remembers that the pilot of the Calamity that took her escape pod is indeed one of the Boosted Men that fought for Azrael. But she has never interacted with any of the three Biological CPUs.
"Okay, let's cut to the chase.", Akiza decided to save the rest of the discussions after the professor's next presentation. "Doc, you may continue."
"Thank you, Akiza.", Dr. Paradox then presented a new sequence of events after the second war. "Time to start the real discussion. This time, we're focusing on the major changes after the second war. After Chairman Durandal was assassinated after the fall of Messiah, Lacus Clyne is set to take over as the new Chairwoman of the Supreme Council. Reforms in both the PLANTs and Atlantic Federation were thorough, and they now implemented a revision of the Junius Treaty, known as the Coexistence Act. An international law to circumvent the flaws of the Junius Treaty. Because of the aforementioned loophole, it prompted Blue Cosmos to use its power in the Alliance to launch the second war with the PLANTs. This revision served as a lesson from this flaw for the Atlantic Federation in rooting out Blue Cosmos elements to truly mitigate the likelihood of another war of genetic racism."
Dr. Paradox then elaborated that in the near future, the Junius Treaty's revision will now declare Blue Cosmos as illegal, as such, implementing a policy in which Coordinators are to be given the same rights as Naturals. Once the Federation begin establishing reforms, the returning Eurasian Federations and other powers of the Alliance to further solidify reforms. But, the reforms in the Federation also met with opposition.
The doctor continued, "However, that wasn't the end of anti-Coordinator sentiments on Earth as remnants of Blue Cosmos and Logos were hiding and formed a militant faction known as ADVENT (Alliance of Dissident Valiant Elite Natural OuTsiders), seeking to revolt against the reformed government, ultimately resulting in a civil war within the Atlantic Federation."
Kiryu then added, this time regarding the PLANTs' situation. "Two years after the second war, the PLANTs under the Clyne faction find themselves in a power struggle between opposing factions: Patrick Zala loyalists and Durandal's followers. Which likewise led into a civil war."
"Okay, this is where the part gets really good.", Ian added once Kiryu finished.
"When the unrest in the Atlantic Federation began, I held a meeting with a team of scientists, along with scholars coming up with the idea of a peacekeeping artificial intelligence to subdue the conflict within the Alliance. A few objected with the idea, knowing that there are risks of relying on artificial intelligence to act as peacekeepers. But, many decided to agree with my project. However, time was critical. And we needed to act on creating this new AI we called: Project Joint Unification Network Order. Otherwise known as JUNO."
The future, C.E. 77
A flash-forward to Dr. Paradox's life as a human, Dr. Christopher Steinbelt.
Many of then-Professor Steinbelt's colleagues decided to agree in creating a peacekeeping AI in order to subdue the unrest in the Atlantic Federation. While few decided not to know how dangerous it would be, but Steinbelt had no other choice. They made the AI self-aware to test its response to war and violence. When JUNO was at its alpha stage, it began to speak.
"Greetings, creators. We are referred to as the Joint Union Network Order, also known as JUNO."
"Incredible...", Steinbelt was speechless. "It can speak."
"Chris, what did you do?", one of Steinbelt's colleagues asked. Despite working with him, he has second thoughts about AI.
"I told you this is a self-aware artificial intelligence.", Steinbelt continued. "With it, we can use our scientific knowledge to end future conflicts."
"Chris, you must be careful on relying on artificial intelligence. Being self-aware can also mean it can grow beyond its programming."
"I know. It's still in the alpha stage. If anything, we can make a few adjustments."
As Professor Steinbelt went on with the research and development of JUNO, the AI itself began adapting to human knowledge and emotions over time after observing the conflict between the reformed Atlantic Federation and ADVENT extremists, knowing that this civil war could spiral out of control.
The same can be said on the PLANTs, the Clyne, Zala, and Durandal factions engage on a power struggle for the control of the Supreme Council, resulting in more bloodshed after another.
One fateful day, after observing far too many conflicts on both sides through the computer world, JUNO started to act against its creators.
The AI began activating a protocol without Dr. Steinbelt's consent, "Execute Protocol: 3-7-5-6-4."
"JUNO, what are you doing?!", Steinbelt notices that JUNO is hacking an Earth Alliance mobile suit. "Protocol 37564?! What is the meaning of this?!"
"We are doing what needs to be done to put an end to this senseless conflict.", the AI replied.
Elsewhere, a Windam piloted by an Earth Alliance solider shoot its fellow allies. But the pilot had no idea that his mobile suit's OS is being hacked by an AI. This resulted in other EA and ADVENT mobile suits being hacked simultaneously and forced to kill their pilots.
Back in the laboratory, Steinbelt's other colleagues began to realize what JUNO is planning to do.
"What's going on?!"
"Steinbelt, what have you done?! JUNO has gone haywire!"
Steinbelt can only look on in horror as JUNO begins to lay waste on Earth as it began hacking mobile suits of both the Alliance and ADVENT, with the intent of killing all of humanity. He attempted to shut down JUNO, but to no avail as the AI began spread across the world like wildfire, hacking every single of the world's communication, power, and defense systems.
"No... This can't be happening...", Steinbelt can only kneel in despair, realizing that he created a doomsday device. "NOOOOOOOOOO!"
As JUNO continued to hack mobile suits from both the Alliance and Orb, it also started building armies of advanced robotic soldiers, like the JUNO Troopers, as well as unmanned mobile suits like the Wisel, Skiel, and Granel. JUNO's army proceeded to lay waste to everything that stood in their path, even a neutral country like Orb is at the mercy of a rampaging AI.
JUNO declared its victory over humanity, "This world is now our world. From this moment on, we are the God of the New World."
...To be continued
Author's Note (UPDATE 5/6/2023):
- Protocol 37564 is a goroawase wordplay for "Kill Everyone" (3 - mi, 7 - na, - 5 - go, 6 - ro, 4 - shi). In JUNO's case, this protocol serves to start the deadliest cyberattack in the Cosmic Era, which leads to the story's bad future.
