Chapter 78- Justice is Served
"Any luck with Dante?" Nina asked anxiously after Sonny hung up.
He shook his head. "He's with Morgan right now and he's seen no sign of Nelle and hasn't heard from her."
Nina sighed. "And the airport hasn't seen her. Even though she's an adult, since she is my dependent, they will contact me if they see her. They're going to monitor the flights to Denver in case she tries to return to that commune…. Sonny, I'm going to try the cemetery. Can you hang around here for Willow?"
Sonny nodded. "Of course. I can even try calling the train and bus stations to monitor rides to Denver."
She smiled. "Thank you."
GHGHGH
Carly led Nelle through the cemetery and turned a corner. She pointed to the back of a gravestone and said, "Here ya go!"
Nelle took a deep breath as they moved closer. "This is my father's grave?"
"Nope." Carly smirked. "It's your grave."
Nelle positioned herself so she could read the engravement:
Janelle Benson
June 15, 1992-
August 27, 2020
Nelle gasped.

"Hey," Drew said as he walked into Britt's room at the Metro Court. "I know you probably have lots of support on top of room service, but I brought you some soup."
Britt smiled and took the soup from him. "Thank you."
"How are you feeling?" Drew asked.
"I'm fine. Just a throbbing head. My mom wanted me to stay with her for a night or two, but that would be silly. I'm fine."
She carried the soup over to the kitchen and Drew made his way over to the couch. He scrunched his face. "What's this?" He pointed to a box on the coffee table with a picture of a newborn hanging out from it.
Britt's nostrils flared. She charged over to the coffee table and snagged up the box and the photo. "How dare you go through my stuff?"
Drew scoffed. "I wasn't going through your stuff. It was just sitting out—I'm sorry."
Britt took a deep breath. "No. I'm sorry I snapped. I did leave it out. It's just personal." She tucked the photo inside the box and hugged it to her chest."
"Again, I'm sorry. But are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"You don't seem fine," Drew said. "I'm here if you need someone to talk to."
Britt shifted her feet awkwardly then plopped down in a chair. "Mother's Day is coming up."
Drew sat on the couch. "It is."
She met his eyes. "It must be hard on you this year. I'm sorry about Monica."
"Thank you. She meant a lot to me…. Britt, who is that baby?"
Britt ran her fingers over the box. "My…. No, not mine. She was a baby I gave birth to. But she has never been and never will be mine."

Sasha stared at her reflection in the mirror, her mascara falling down her cheeks from tears. Her mind flashed from Valentin introducing her to Nina, to the truth coming out at Nina's wedding, to Nina shunning her, to Nina forgiving her, to finding Nelle is Nina's real daughter, to her wedding with Brando, to Liam's death, to Brando's death, to taking drugs for the first time to numb the pain, to finding Willow is Nina's daughter too.
She loved Nina. Nina was the mother she always longed for. And now, she had to watch Nina be a mother to her real daughters. One of which Sasha's best friend. That was her karma for deceiving Nina. She hated herself for feeling this way. She wanted to bury her jealousy. She loved both Nina and Willow and wanted to be happy for them, she really did. But it just seems like Nina doesn't have time for Sasha anymore. She has her real daughters. The only time carved out was for Sasha to babysit Wiley and Amelia—and she couldn't stop thinking of Liam when she held Amelia.
She opened the vial and poured the pink pills down her throat.
GHGHGH
Nelle stared horrified at her gravestone.
"You see, Nelle," Carly said. "This gravestone is empty. But you look at all the others along here, they have beautiful plants, flowers, gifts from loved ones. But not yours. You see, everyone rejoiced when you died. Not only did you assault me and torment me, but you drugged my husband and made him think he slept with you, you committed murder, theft, slit a woman's throat, and kidnapped my grandson. And something that should really hit home to you right now, you used your sister Willow's dead son as a prop."
Nelle burst into tears.
"But now that you're back and didn't die after all, you have managed to destroy my life by turning my son Morgan against me and by putting my other son Michael in jail for some bogus charges," Carly said. "So, take a good, long look at that tomb stone, because that is the only place you deserve to be—"
"Carly!" Nina walked up behind them. "Stay the he ll away from my daughter!"
Carly rolled her eyes. "I was just telling your daughter some cold, hard truths."
"The cold, hard truth is you're a monster who kept both my children and my grandchildren from me. Now get away from my daughter!"
Carly shook her head. "One of these days everything will be set back into place. And justice will be served." She took off.
GHGHGH
Sasha waltzed down to her parking lot and bumped into a trash can, it crashed to the ground. "Hahaha," she giggled and searched her purse for her car keys. "I feel so much better…." She pulled out her keys, but they slipped from her hand.
"Are you all right, dear?" the little old lady from the same floor as Sasha got out of her car.
"I'm fine," Sasha said. She smiled widely and scooped up her keys. "Just dropped my keys!"
The lady eyed her suspiciously. "Can I call someone for you?"
"Oh, no." Sasha shook her head. "There's no one to call for me. I don't like phone calls. Nina is busy with Nelle and Willow. Gladys is probably gambling again!"
"Please, let me take you upstairs."
"No!" Sasha shouted. "I'm fine!"
The lady's phone rang. "Excuse me…. Hello?... Rob, calm down…. What?... No… no… your brother can't be dead…. Okay, I'll be right there." She slipped her phone away, but Sasha was gone.
GHGHGH
Nelle kept staring at her tombstone.
"Honey…." Nina wrapped her arm around her. "Don't listen to Carly."
"Did I really do all those evil things?" Nelle asked. "Did I kill people and kidnap and use Sister Willow's dead baby as a prop?"
Nina sighed.
"Please, tell me the truth," Nelle said.
"Yes. But you were very troubled. The man who raised you was very abusive to you. I know in my heart if you just had someone to love you, you wouldn't have done those things."
"But I still did them."
"I did many horrible things too," Nina said. "But people can change. And it's a lot easier and WORTH changing when you have people around you who love you. And I love you. I have since I found out I was pregnant with you. So, you're not obligated to do those kind of things again. But it doesn't mean we'll never make mistakes along the way."
"I want to tell Sister Willow I'm sorry."
"Okay, that's good. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. And I have to tell you I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't tell you everything. From here on out I'll do my best to be honest with you. But again, I'll probably mess up sometimes. And I'm also sorry I couldn't be there for you and Willow growing up. But I'm glad we have each other now."
"I'm glad I have you too," Nelle said. "But I'm sad that my dad is dead."
"That's why you came here, right? You wanted to see your dad's grave?"
Nelle nodded.
Nina took her hand. "Then come. We can go together."
She led her through the other gravestones and finally arrived at Silas' grave.
Nina dusted off the top. "Silas was a doctor."
Nelle's eyes widened. "Josiah wouldn't like that."
"But your father saved a lot of lives. I know he'd be proud of you and sister, just like I am."
"I wish I could've met him."
Nina wrapped her arm around her and kissed her forehead. "Me too."
GHGHGH
Carly couldn't stop fuming after her encounter with Nina and Nelle. Where does Nina get off speaking to her that way? Carly told Nelle the truth. She belonged in that grave.
She headed down the sidewalk (she had to give up her car to pay off some of her debt) to go home to the Spencer mansion, that she soon had to move out of. But when she approached the intersection, a swerving car came her way.
She squinted. "What the—"
The car plowed straight into Carly, shooting her a few feet away. Then the car swerved again and crashed into the stop sign. The stop sign pulled out of the ground and impaled Carly's throat. Next thing, the car drove right over Carly, one of its wheels zooming right over her face. It took off down the road and out of sight.
Thunder was heard in the distance and rain poured down onto Carly. Then lightning struck right into Carly's chest, and she laid there all alone in the storm.
