Continued.
This morning Joe met with Dixon and it went well. He was offically offered the position and took it. She wants him to start in a couple weeks. He was so relieved and excited to get home tonight to tell Taylor finally.
"Detective Hill, girl downstairs is asking for you." Derek, a fellow cop tells him coming upstairs to his squad floor.
"Name?" Joe asks from his desk.
"It's your wife." Trent interrupts coming upstairs behind Derek.
"Shit…" Joe stands up quick, his heart rate picks up, he's flustered, she never comes by here unannounced.
"Someone's in trouble." Trent says raising a brow at him.
"Shut the fuck up." Joe said and made his way out.
"Well now we know who wears the pants in that relationship." Someone added, making everyone laugh, Joe ignored it and kept on his way downstairs.
"Taylor? Hey. What are you doing here?" He comes out to the front where she is and asks. She's in her scrubs, she should be heading to work.
"I need to talk to you." She crosses her arms, Joe scans the room.
"Can it wait? I'll be home in a couple hours?" He says confused, and glances at his watch.
"No." She says and he knows she's pissed about whatever it is.
"Okay…follow me." He says and she follows him to an empty observation room and shuts the door.
"You didn't wanna talk to me all day yesterday when I was home but now I'm at work and you do?" He tests.
"Yeah well it wasn't until today that I'm starting to question whether or not you're lying to me half the time you say you're at work and-"
"Would you take a damn breath!? What are you talking about!?" Joe cuts her off, she's pretty fired up, her cheeks are red, her eyes look like she's going to start crying any second.
"Who was that girl you got breakfast with?! I saw you when I drove by on my way to drop Wesley off at daycare!" She says.
"…Valerie?"
"I don't fucking know!" She reminds.
"She's a detective!"
"And? so what?!" She argued.
"You know how insane this is right?" Joe points out.
"What?"
"You drove all the way over here, before work because you thought I was what? Cheating on you, in the middle of the fucking city in broad daylight on a Monday morning!?" He raised his voice.
"What am I supposed to think!? It looks bad on your end! I'm just looking for answers to this whole situation, you've been so standoffish with me! I feel like I don't even know you anymore!" She yells.
"It was about work Taylor, and believe it or not, I do converse with male AND female co workers all the time…!" He informed her with frustration laced in his voice. She didn't even have anything to say, or know what to say. She felt bad for jumping to a terrible conclusion, she knows he would never do such a thing. But she just wanted answers.
"You know how much of a slap in the face this is! What the fuck happened in the past with ME that makes you think I would EVER fuck around on you?!" He argued.
"I don't know…nothing." She clammed up because he was right.
"Exactly. The meeting I had with Valerie this morning is something that's been in the works for a couple weeks now. I was going to tell you about it tonight finally."
"What? What about?" She wondered.
"It's gonna be good for us, hopefully solve all these issues."
"Why didn't you tell me?" she sighed with a little relief.
"Because I didn't wanna get your hopes up yet. I wanted to figure shit out first."
"Well you can talk to me about stuff you know." She reminded.
"I know that. I can't do this right now, we can talk tonight alright?"
"I wanna know what's going on." She insists.
"Well I'm working. I can't talk anymore right now. Please." He heads to open the door, she sighs and walks out.
"Have a good day okay? Love you." He tells her before heading back up to his squad.

At home later that night, Joe was cleaning Wesley up from dinner when Taylor got home. She had been on the edge of her seat all day trying to figure out what it was he was going to tell her.
"There's mommy, ask her how her day was." He tells Wesley, pulling him out of the high chair.
"Hi buddy, I can't hold you right now, I'm dirty." Taylor sets her things down and unpacks her lunch box.
"He ate really good."
"Good." She says not caring much.
"How was your day?" Joe wonders.
"Fine." She huffed.
"You okay?" He asks.
"Yeah."
"Okay, you seem quiet." Joe tells her.
"Just anxious to hear about whatever it is you have to say."
"Well shower and then we can talk." He says and she does just that.
When she's done she comes and sits on the couch, observing Joe playing with Wesley on the floor.
"Okay so ready?" Joe asks with a smile.
"Yeah." She smiles back hesitantly.
"I'm transferring to the 8-4 precinct and taking the head position on the firearms squad over there." He admits and her eyes widen, she's speechless to say the least.
"Joe! What!? That's huge!" She gives him a hug and kiss. He smiles, he's relieved she's this happy.
"It's gonna be great for us. I promise." He assures.
"Wait, do we have to move?!" She wonders.
"We don't have to but…"
"Please, please I wanna move, you know I do." She begs.
"I know. I do too, but we gotta pump the breaks. I gotta get my ass in the seat first, wear it in a little bit." He says sorta laughing.
"Well…our lease ends in July, will we know by then?" She asks curiously.
"Hard to say but I hope." He says.
"I'm so excited." She says and hugs him again.
"Good, now you know why I've been stressed out more than normal, I'm sorry I take it out on you sometimes, and for not treating you right. I know it's probably the main reason you've been irritable with me and moody. So I'm sorry." He apologizes.
"I think there's more to my bitchiness than just that."
"Yeah having Wesley to take care of alone most days and nights probably doesn't help either. Like I said I'm sorry. I'm gonna try harder to be here for you and him, and give you more breaks and-"
"No no, babe there's still more to it than that."
"Okay well what? What do you think it is?" He's confused and worried about whatever her reasoning may be.
"I'm pregnant again." She admits with a heavy sigh, his eyes dart at hers in shock.
