So many rewrites and brain damage later, here we are. Hello guys, as always sorry it's been a while, I guess most people are already informed about my amazing health so let me spare you on that reason, this chapter was just incredibly hard to write so thanks for being here still reading through my stuff, have a great day, and no worries, I have not forgotten about this project. :)

Chapter 4, a whole new world

'Unbelievable.' Marshall commented, not knowing what else to say.

The two pups couldn't keep their jaws of the floor as they saw the huge underground base hidden beneath the humble cave. The elevator was in the middle of a huge room. The walls made of stone with deep slate reinforcing the walls, floors and ceiling. There was a base floor and a floor above it. A cool logo in the form of a with 5 different colours in it which were red, cyan, blue, green and pink, was attached to the ceiling, sending colorfull lights through the main room. At each side of the main room were halls that lead to other smaller rooms. This was a huge operation.

'What is this place.' Marshall asked in wonder.

'Ehm, a side project.' Tessa replied with a smile. 'No, though it used to be a side project, since I saw you two in the forest a couple of days ago, it's sort of become the head project.'

'I have two questions, how and why.' Everest said, confused by this huge operation.

'I needed a place to hide away from some annoying scientists, and all these other dogs just lost their home, so we came to a deal. They help get this base up and running, I give them a safe place to live.' Tessa said. 'I thought I'd have to find the materials myself, but the leader of the stray group asked if the strays could help, as they needed a safe place as soon as possible.'

'You said something about crazy scientists, what's that about?' Marshall wondered.

'Oh yeah, I was adopted as a puppy by a scientist, he brought me to work, and I learned from the others how inventing things work. So, I started working on my own projects, the others got jealous, tried to steal my idea's, tried to dog nap me, failed. My owner knew I wasn't safe and allowed me to leave. Those scientists are crazy, they don't give up, like ever.' Tessa said. 'So, I had to find a place where I could stay for a long time without them finding me, I don't think this is a bad solution.

'Not bad indeed.' Marshall commented.

'But why did you bring us here, seems like an operation no one should know about.' Everest said, not understanding the Australian shepherd.

'I will explain, follow me to the book room, there, your questions, might, be answered.' Tessa reacted calmly.

'What do you mean might?' Everest said, frustrated by the unknown situation.

'Just follow me, this is my first time as well.' Tessa said calmly.

The pups went left from the elevator into a hallway. Entering the book room, a few dogs sat their reading books. In the corner of the room was another door, which lead to a tinier room. Only one book sat on the display.

'This is it, the whole reason I brought you guys here.' Tessa said.

'A book?' Everest said, wondering what this pup had eaten for breakfast.

'Yes, a book, it tells the story of a legendary dog which lived many years ago, he kept the world at peace for 50 years with his mysterious powers.' Tessa explained.

'You are out of your mind.' Everest said.

'That's what I thought when I first received this book from a random old lady who told me she felt like I should have it. It's confusing, but just listen please.' Tessa responded. 'When describing the end of his life, the area described is exactly this picture I took here. A cliff side overlooking a plain of grass, further away some sand, which leads into the open sea. Which is exactly where adventure bay is now. He told the heavens to give his powers to a group of dogs who would need it in the future. Then he walked into the forest, never to be seen again. What I think is that the place you guys got those powers, is where he passed. You two have a part of his powers, you guys could do such great things with that you know.' Tessa said enthusiastically.

Everest looked at Marshall, who was staring straight forward. 'So, what you want to say is, we received some random dog's powers which is meant to keep the world at peace?' Everest asked.

'I believe so.' Tessa answered.

'Impossible, this modern world cannot be brought to peace, I don't know how that dog did it back then, but humans are crazy you know that. If you safe someone, others will always be negative about it, there will always be evil guys trying to put an end to such "50 years of peace." Even if this story is real, in the modern world, this is not achievable.' Everest said.

'It was the exact same story back in the day, a broken world that didn't look fixable. And yes, bad people kept coming, but the public wouldn't ever notice cause the dog had already taken care of the situation before it could run out of hand. I believe we could achieve this once more.' Tessa said.

'I understand your plan and idea's, I just don't know how we could make this work. I already have a pretty important job, I can't hide this from them.' Marshall explained.

'Ryder is very smart indeed.' Everest added.

'I can get that covered.' Tessa said.

'How?' Everest asked.

'If i can build an underground base, I'm sure that I can make something work.' Tessa said with full confidence.

'I don't know Marshall, you could get yourself and the team in a lot of trouble.' Everest said.

'As long as Tessa can make sure no one will know, we can make this work, if this is really our calling, if we are meant to have these powers, we can't just sit around and do nothing.'

Everest looked at Tessa. 'I don't know.' Everest said.

'Look, I don't mind if you don't want to take part, just keep this place secret and then I'm happy. I just wanted you two to know this, I don't care if you two leave, because everything i've seen so far shows that this story is true. I am confident about this and if this story is true, you will be led back to me anyway. So, do what you two wish to do. Just don't forget about what I said, got it?' Tessa said.

'Why would we trust you that you want the right thing with us and our abilities.' Marshall asked.

'You and your team want peace in this world, I want peace in this world. This world is going in the wrong direction, and if we can stop that from happening, that would be all I could ever wish for. I want to help people as much as you two do. I didn't start inventing my own things for no reason. I wanted to make the world a better place, the other scientists wanted the opposite, and I am not skipping a single opportunity to make this world just a little bit better.' Tessa explained, sounding quite desperate.

'Why don't we give it a try.' Marshall asked Everest. 'If this turns out to be wrong we can just blast our way out of here.'

'Well my walls are pretty strong, but your powers could definitely get you out of this place in no time.' Tessa added.

'As if this weird dream could not get any weirder. Why not.' Everest said.

'Alright, I'll show you two around!' Tessa said.
