"Is it really ok if I don't wear the vampire outfit?" I asked after class the next day. Halloween was a few days away, but the Host Club wanted to celebrate all week and I thought it'd be fun to dress up in some of my tour outfits. I brought one of my favorite and most recognizable costumes to school with me that day and I'd rather wear that instead of false teeth. I already had it on by the time I realized everyone was matching.
"Sure." Kyoya answered while Tamaki whined in the corner about how I wasn't going to be his undead queen.
"I'd be happy to perform today to greet everyone if you'd like." I smiled at the shadow king.
"Sounds good to me. The piano is set up if you want to just play while guests enter." Kyoya said after contemplating it for a moment. I gave him a thumbs up before finding a mirror to refresh my makeup and shake out my hair.
"You look like a superstar!" Tamaki said, appearing beside me in the mirror.
"Are you done being upset with me?" I asked him as I applied some lipstick. He moved closer, placing his hands discreetly on my bare waist and leaned down to whisper in my ear.
"Yes, it would be a crime for you to be covered in one of these big capes. I don't know if I'll be able to keep my eyes off of you all afternoon." I shivered, locking eyes with him through the mirror. He grinned, revealing his costume's vampire fangs. I wouldn't let him unnerve me or let him know how hot I thought he looked in his devilish outfit. I turned to face him, feeling his warm hands touch every inch of my exposed middle, and tried to keep my breathing from hitching. I mentally thanked the high heels of my sparkly boots as I leaned in closer to whisper into his sensitive skin.
"If you ever want me to wear one of my little costumes, Tamaki, all you have to do is ask. I'd be happy to give you a show." I pulled back and winked at him. I watched his face heat up before pulling out of his grasp and leaving him standing there dumbfounded. I made sure to put an extra swish in my hips as I walked away.
I made my way to the piano to play background music for the guests. It's been a favorite contribution of mine because it's given me the opportunity to test out new melodies without people knowing what I was really playing. Whenever anyone would ask I would lie and say it was an old song my family taught me.
Activities started like normal but we were missing our Class 1A club members. Girls were going crazy over Tamaki, Kyoya, Hunny, and Mori in their costumes but Haruhi and the twins were nowhere to be found for the first half hour. When they finally showed up, they clearly had no intention of staying.
"Hello~!" the twins said in unison, holding Haruhi between them.
"Why are you guys late? Hurry up and change!" Tamaki scolded them.
"Sorry Tono, but from now until Halloween–" Hikaru started.
"Count us out!" Kaoru finished.
"WHAT!?" Tamaki screeched as I stopped playing my music.
"Count you out?
"We're on the preparation committee for a special event! Class 1A is sponsoring it." The twins explained in unison.
"That sounds so fun!" I exclaimed, wondering what kind of event a class full of budget-less kids could come up with.
"Duty calls then." Kyoya shrugged.
"Good luck without us here for a week!" The twins waved before dragging Haruhi back toward the door with them.
"You have fun!" Huni waved back.
"Hold on!" Tamaki called desperately. "Why is Haruhi going!?" I glanced at his face, taking note of his reluctance to let the girl leave.
"Well, Tono, she is in our class you know." Hikaru smirked over his shoulder.
"Oh, and the special event is an after-dark test of courage tournament." Kaoru added with his own evil grin.
"After… dark?" Tamaki whined clearly entering into his own deluded fantasy world.
"Oh, my god. That sounds so fun!" I gasped. "Can other classes join!?"
"Sorry, Lori. I think they're trying to keep it just for our class. Hopefully, it won't get too out of hand." Haruhi sighed.
"Haruhi…?" Tamaki said, stumbling over himself as he came back to reality. "You're not going to take part in this, are you? For decency's sake tell me you won't!"
"Calm down, Senpai. It's just some harmless fun." She replied, holding her hands up defensively.
"Harmless… She thinks it's… Harmless!" He exclaimed dramatically. "You won't go! You can't! Daddy doesn't like it!"
"Daddy?" I asked, looking to the rest of the hosts for an answer. They all just shrugged at me.
"Well time to go now!" Hikaru smiled.
"Adieu!" The twins said in unison before running out of the room.
"Wait! I can be a valued asset to the planning committee! Let me come, too!" Tamaki called after them. Before he could follow them out the door, we all heard a maniacal laughter coming from the darkest corner of the room. I turned to see a man with long dark hair in a black coat standing there.
"Nekozawa-senpai… When did you–" Tamaki started to ask, clearly unnerved by the man.
"Who's that?" I asked.
"Well now, isn't that interesting." The man laughed before anyone could answer me. "What was that? You think it sounds like fun, Belzenef? You may just be on to something there. If it's fear they want, the Black Magic Club will be happy to oblige. After all, what is Halloween without a healthy dose of unadulterated terror?"
"Why is he speaking to that creepy doll?" I asked again, looking to the others for any kind of answer. Everyone had a sort of bored disinterested look except for Tamaki who was clearly freaking out. "That does sound like a lot of fun though!"
And so we decided that the Host Club would work with the Black Magic Club on our own night of terror. We decided to cancel club activities so we could plan for Halloween night.

The week flew by with shopping, planning, and preparations. I felt almost giddy to perform with the other club members and play a prank on our younger friends. Halloween day came and the school really went all out with decorations. And by the time night fell, the halls truly felt haunted.
"What do you think, Lori? Do I look truly terrifying?" Tamaki whispered from our hiding spot near the top of the stairs. His mask and costume were sure to do the trick. If I ran into someone looking like this without knowing it was him I'd definitely freak out. I nodded at him enthusiastically, giving him two thumbs up.
"Did you see that?" We heard Haruhi say. "That creepy shadow just now, outside the window?"
"Show time" I winked at my friend.
"Oh come on, Fujioka! Not you too! Knock it off already, would ya!" We heard the fourth member of their team screech. I think he was their class president. I took the quiet moment after his freak out to throw the plastic skull I was holding toward the stairs. I listened to its satisfying knocking sound as it bounced down each step toward our friends. All four of the kids screamed loudly as the skull came to a stop in front of them.
"No way…" I heard Kaoru say. "It's a sneak attack from those A-team hacks!"
"Hey! It's not your turn guys! Follow the rules!" Hikaru screamed before kicking the skull back up the stairs. I gave Tamaki the signal to reveal himself.
"My skull." He moaned quietly.
"Yeah, you show 'em!" Kaoru clapped.
"My skull." He moaned again louder this time and stepping to the top of the stairs. As soon as he was revealed, the clock tower began to chime ominously. "My skull."
"Could it be… the clocktower witch!?" The class president exclaimed.
"Why did you kick… my skull!?" Tamaki screeched causing our friends to scream in fear and run in different directions. I couldn't help but smile knowing that the rest of the hosts were stationed around the school, ready to scare our friends. Well, all except Kyoya who was somewhere near by reading a book by flashlight.
"How did I do!?" Tamaki asked, coming back to my hiding spot without the scary mask.
"You were terrifying!" I giggled. "Let's go see the grand finale for ourselves!" I started to head toward Class 1A's meeting point where the Black Magic Club had set up a scare for the whole class. Before I made it more than two steps, I felt something warm slip into my hand. I jumped slightly in surprise before realizing it was just Tamaki lacing his fingers through mine.
"I don't want anything jumping out and grabbing you in the dark." He said with a smile before leading us through the halls. I squeezed his hand gently, trying to hide the shiver that was running down my spine. The feeling of his skin on mine was almost too much to bare.
"Wasn't that you guys trying to scare us?" We heard Kaoru ask as we got close. I squeezed Tamaki's hand and bit my lip to keep from giggling.
"Huh? We didn't do anything." I heard one of the students say before some of the girls cried out in fear.
"What is it?" Haruhi asked.
"Outside! By the window, there's a dark figure!" One of the girls cried. I dropped my friend's hand and pulled out my phone just in time to snap a photo as the entire class screamed out in fear of the 'dark figure' otherwise known as Belzenef the doll.
"Got it?" Tamaki whispered in my ear as the students ran in all different directions.
"Got it!" I whispered back through my giggles. He grabbed my hand once more before pulling me out of the school. Tamaki and I both erupted with laughter the second we were out of earshot of the others. While in the car, I made sure to email the photos to Nekozawa so he could print up posters for tomorrow. Pulling off such a prank was so much fun!
