Chapter 12: Mystery at the Lighthouse

After meeting up with Daisy, the group had decided to take a small detour to meet with a special Pokémon Researcher.

"So Daisy, I've been wondering what kind of Pokémon you have?" Brock asked her.

"Oh I have a few but only to help in case of an emergency." Daisy said as she showed off four Pokeballs.

"Ash told us you got a starter from your grandfather's lab when you were ten. Who did you choose?" Misty asked.

"Well I guess I can show you." Grabbing a Pokéball, Daisy opens it revealing a large turtle Pokémon with two cannons coming out of its shell.

"Blast!" It roars.

The group looked in awe as Misty's eyes were filled with two shining stars. "Oh my goodness, it's an actual Blastoise!!"

"Wow, I didn't expect a reaction like that," Daisy rubbed a hand on her neck as she looked away for a second.

"Yeah..she REALLY loves Water Pokémon," Brock said sheepishly rubbing the back of his head, watching his friend watch oogle the fully evolved water type in amazement.

Ash takes his Pokédex out to scan it.

"Blastoise, the Shellfish Pokémon. Blastoise is the final evolved form of Squirtle. It can launch powerful blasts of water from its water spouts."

"Blastoise has been my travel buddy since day one. And she can swim through even the raging sea without sweat." Daisy declares.

"Blast." The large aquatic reptile stomped proudly with a grin.

"Wow I hope Shades and I can get that good." Ash said, impressed.

"Now then, shall we get back underway?" Daisy asks.

"Does this researcher you've mentioned earlier really live all the way out here?" Brock asked.

"Yep, and let me tell you this guy knows everything there is to know about the Pokémon here in Kanto." Daisy said.

"Sounds to me like this guy is a big Poké Maniac." Misty jokes as she was now out of fangirl mode as Daisy stuffed a giggle.

"You should see my Grandpa when he's studying Pokemon." Daisy snickers.

"Hey guys!" They heard Ash's voice shout out from up ahead. "You gotta come see this!"

Quickly returning Blastoise, Daisy and the others hurried up the hill to Ash. Once they were out of the forest, they came to a halt as what they saw was truly breathtaking.

They stood on the sands of a large beach with the sun setting right on the edge of the sea, making the water sparkle.

"It's beautiful." Misty said the awe.

"Wherever your friend is around here, he sure picked a fine spot for a home," Brock whistled.

"It should be around here somewhere." Daisy said, looking around.

As Ash was about to say something, he interrupted by something chattering down under him. Aiming his head down, there walking under his legs was a Krabby. He lifted a leg and turned around. "Ooh hey, it's a Krabby!" Ash remembered Georgio having one back in Cerulean City. He quickly took his Pokédex out.

"Krabby, the River Crab Pokémon. In the wild, Krabby livesnear the edge of waterin both fresh and saltwater. Its main form of defense is creating foam to shroud its body, in order to confuse opponents into thinking that it is bigger than it actually is."

Watching the little crab scuttle off, made Ash think to himself. It's been a little while since Ash caught himself a new Pokémon. So why not.

"Alright Alpha, let's go!" Taking out a Pokeball Ash throws it calling out his grass type.

"Bulbasaur!" The grass cried out, appearing in front of the crab.

Krabby jumped back and started to foam out of the mouth.

"Alright Alpha, training is one thing, but let's see how we do in an actual battle." Ash said.

"Bulba." Alpha said ready to fight.

Krabby's eyes glowed bright blue, which made Alpha blink in surprise as he stepped back, indicating that it was using a Leer attack. Now it was on the attack; Krabby lunged forward with its claws aiming right to its face.

"Look out, it's about to use Vice Grip!" Ash shouts.

"Saur!" Jumping out of the way Alpha narrowly dodges the attack.

"Razor Leaf!" Ash commanded as leaves came out of the bulb on Alpha's back. Krabby's body glowed, activating Harden as it took the attack.

"Use Leech Seed!" Firing a glowing seed it wrapped around Krabby tying it up and draining its energy.

"Now use Tackle!" Ash said as Alpha rammed into Krabby, knocking it into the air.

"Harden might have raised its defense but Leech Seed will drain no matter how it is." Daisy points out.

Once Krabby landed on the sand, it quickly recovered and released a stream of Bubbles from its mouth.

"Use Vine Whip!" Swinging his vines, Alpha smacks the bubbles away before bringing them down on Krabby's head.

Cringing, Krabby collapsed face first into the sand. "Pokéball, go!" Ash throws an empty Pokéball as it bounced off of Krabby, sucking it inside.

As the ball wiggled three times it clicked.

"Gotcha!" Ash smiles holding the ball.

"Hmm, not bad, Ash," Daisy said, impressed

"Thanks, Daisy." Ash nodded happily for another successful capture before it disappeared from his palm.

He made a mental note to call Prof. Oak to make sure Krabby was made it safely to his laboratory.

As the sun began to set, Misty noticed a light shining.

Looking over she saw a lighthouse on the cliffs. "Woah, check that out." She alerts them as she points to the direction.

"A lighthouse? All the way out here?" Ash asked.

"Well we are near the ocean so it makes sense. It's to warn mariners of dangerous shallows and perilous rocky coasts, and they help guide vessels safely into and out of harbors." Brock explains as Daisy nodded.

"Also its what we've been looking for." She added.

"Huh?" All three of them said they were confused.

"I told you a Pokemon researcher was all the way out here, well that's where he lives." Daisy said, gesturing to the lighthouse.

"A lighthouse? Of all places?" Ash asked, confused.

"Come on. Let's hurry before it gets too dark." Daisy said, running ahead.

"Wait for us!" The trio said, running after her.

It was then dark by the time they got there. Ash and the gang were breathing pants at all the running they did to get there.

"Whew... That was further then it looked," said Ash.

"This lighthouse looks weird." Brock comments as everyone then notices the Pokémon cravings on the lighthouse doors.

"Is anyone even inside? It's pitch black." Misty asks when Brock notices a doorbell.

Walking up to it, Brock pressed the button and a loud ringing echoed.

The group huddled anxiously, surprised by the sudden echo. "Who's there?" Answered a young male with a British accent on the bell caller.

"Bill, it's me, Daisy. We talked over the phone about a week ago about you wanting to meet me face to face." Daisy replies.

"Oh Daisy? It's you. Excellent." The voice said.

"Listen I hope you don't mind, but I brought a few friends along. Is it okay if they join us?" Daisy asks.

"Of course. Come right in." With that the voice went silent. The group looked to see the double doors open. They peered in to see a large room with a traveling staircase. Big windows and a large hallway. They wondered while looking at the inside of the lighthouse in wonder.

"Excuse me sir, but you mind if I use your phone?" Ash calls out to the voice.

"Not at all, there's a phone right near you." Answered the man's voice. Ash blinked at that as he looked over to see a video phone and a transporter nearby.

Walking to the phone, Ash dials Prof. Oak up.

"Hello?" Prof. Oak said, appearing on screen.

"Prof. Oak/Grandpa." Ash and Daisy said at the same time, surprising him.

"Daisy? What are you doing there? When did you and Ash meet up?" Prof. Oak asks.

"Yesterday, and let me tell you Grandpa, I sure didn't expect to meet up with him soon." Daisy said before her eyes shifted and her tone changed, which made the hairs on Prof. Oak's neck stand. "Although I was ALSO shocked about what has happened to Ash since the last time I've seen him.."

"I-I um I see." He stuttered. "I-I'm sure you have a lot of questions, yes?"

"That's an understatement." Daisy said, crossing her arms.

Ash shivered in the background. 'Looks like her cold persona hasn't left her one bit..' He thought. He was on the receiving end of being victim of that side of her during his younger years whenever he or Gary had gotten into trouble. Shaking his head, Ash had to get back on topic.

Just as he was about to answer the man, he now realized Prof. Oak was cooking something, making him freeze. "Uh..w-what are you up to Professor?"

"Well, you caught me cooking dinner. My cook is on vacation and I gotta fend for myself till she returns."

"What are you making, Professor?" Ash cringed.

"Tofu mostly." Prof. Oak said, making him feel relieved abit.

"Alright Professor, I was just worried about my Pokémon. How is Crush?"

The Professor blinked, "Crush? You mean Krabby?" Ash nodded, "It's fine Ash. I was just concerned about how small it was."

Ash frowned at that, "I didn't think he was that small."

The Professor shrugged, "I guess I was stuck on the size of Gary's Krabby." Ash frowned, "Gary caught one too?" The Professor slurped his dinner and nodded, "Yeah, it is. It's really a catch. Take a look yourself."

Prof. Oak motions to a small tank which shows the Krabby Ash recently caught inside of it..and right next to it, we see a large bowl with a huge Krabby inside. Ash saw his small Krabby, Crush, beside it looking at it nervously.

"What the heck?!" Ash gasps.

"How is that even possible? Your standard Krabby is barely a foot high. A foot and a half max." Daisy said.

"I haven't the slightest clue either, but this is DEFINITELY something I'm going to be studying for in a while. Adding it, that makes Gary his 45th Pokémon." Oak says, which made Ash almost fall over.

"G-G-Gary's caught 45 Pokémon?!" He shouted.

"Yeah that sounds like my brother. Catching every Pokémon in sight." Daisy said, rolling her eyes.

"But I wouldn't let it bother you." Prof. Oak says seeing the troubled look on Ash's face. "You're capturing Pokémon at a slow pace, thus giving you the right to train them all at once."

"Quality over Quantity Ash, remember that." Daisy said in agreement.

Ash took a deep breath and exhaled. "Thanks you guys," he says, now calmed down.

"By the way, where are you calling me anyway?" Prof. Oak asks.

"We're at an old lighthouse way up on top of a cliff." Ash stated.

"Oh that must be Bill's lighthouse. He's a young Pokémon researcher who knows even more than me. See what you can learn from him. He could teach you just about everything there needs to know about Pokémon and then some."

"Prof. Oak, is that you? It's me, Bill!" The voice once again calls out.

"Hello Bill, please give my friends and granddaughter a crash course in Pokémon. Now I better get going." Prof. Oak said, hanging up.

"Well there's no way, I can ignore a request from the great Professor Oak." The lights started to turn on. "I am Bill of the lighthouse." Stated a figure coming from the top of the stairs.

Turning around, all of them expected to see a person, but to their surprise, they saw a giant brown Pokémon with claws.

Meanwhile, outside of the lighthouse...

Team Rocket was watching from outside to see the lighthouse. Everyone looked with their binoculars, "There's the lighthouse. It says it's the home of the famous Pokémon researcher." Jessie stated in happiness.

James smirked, "Then, I guess we came to the right place. Huh."

Jessie turned to James with a smug grin, "There must be zillions of pokemon stored inside that lighthouse."

Meowth smirked, "Then there is only one thing left for us to do!"

"Right, sneak in and take everything we can grab." James answered.

Jessie looked through her binoculars to see a trail they could take. "We could take the road or risk our lives by climbing up the cliffs." Jessie said, looking nervously.

"Well we certainly can't take the road." James retorted.

"We have to climb up those cliffs." Jessie stated.

Meowth jumped on Jessie's head, "Cause we're the bad guys. And the bad guys always got to sneak in."

(Cue Team Rocket Motto)

"We must be able to climb those cliffs in great delight." Jessie stated.

"Or we will risk flight." James retorted.

"Because we're afraid of heights!" They both cried out and hugged in terror. Meowth sweat-dropped.

Back inside, the 4 trainers looked up at the big Pokemon in shock.

"What is that thing?" Ash gasps.

"It's Kabuto! But those are extinct!" Brock gasps.

Kabuto looked nervously and flailed its arms. "No! I'm not a Kabuto! I'm Bill the Pokémon Researcher!"

"Bill? What the heck?" Daisy sweat drops.

"It's a costume, I'm stuck inside it." Bill explains.

"Do you need help getting out?" Ash asked with concern.

Bill, the Kabuto, looked at Ash with happiness, "Yes! Step up here!" Bill pointed in front of him. Ash ran up the steps, "OK, do you see a small blue button?"

"This one here?" Ash said, seeing the small button.

"Yes. These arms are too short. I tried to get out, but I couldn't reach the button." Bill stated. Ash nodded and pushed the button and backed away.

They watched the costume fall apart one by one to see a young man standing there. It was a young man with brown messy hair wearing a purple collared shirt and brown pants.

He got up to stretch and looked at them with a smile. "Thanks for helping me to get out. I've been stuck in that costume for hours."

"Did you come from a costume party?" Misty asks.

"No, not for a party. I use this costume in my research. Getting inside a Pokemon's skin can help me get inside its head." Bill said.

Ash blinked, "What do you mean?"

Bill looked to the wall to show many cravings, "There are many types of extinct Pokémon and I want to understand how they lived; putting on that costume is one way of trying to figure out what they were like."

"I guess that makes sense. And from that Kabuto costume I guess you learned that they didn't have very good reach." Daisy said.

"Quite right. This planet was created 4.6 Billion years ago and Pokemon have been there for so long. It's a big world and in this part of the world there are 150 recorded Pokémon alone." Bill said as the whole room lit up and images of all Kanto Pokemon appeared around them.

"150 alone here.." Ash said surprised. If that was the case, then just how many Pokémon are there in the other places in the world?

"You're lucky as Pokemon Trainers. It's your goal to help capture and document these Pokemon. That's a great task." Bill said.

"I think I would rather catch a handful of good Pokemon than a big bunch of them." Ash said thinking about his team.

"And that's just fine for someone like you.. There's nothing wrong with that with a little quality over quantity," Bill said, appreciating Ash for being modest. "Of course these are just the Pokémon we know about; there are still Pokémon that have probably never been discovered, so we need to keep searching."

"How many could there be?" Ash asks.

"No one knows exactly. The search goes on; there's always something new to look for in our lives and in ourselves." Bill said.

"Something to..look for?" Ash asked.

"Yes there's lots of things to look for, inside and outside ourselves. We all have different meanings. Us being humans and the pokemon being what they are. We all have a different way of thinking and living. It shows that we have different meanings in the world." Bill said sagely.

"Different meanings huh?" Ash said interested.

"That's Bill for you. He's one very sharp thinker." Daisy nodded with a smile.

"Thank you Daisy, it's always nice to get a fellow researcher's opinion." Bill smiles.

"Oh, but I'm not as good as you, Bill." Daisy laughed with a little blush.

Little did they know Team Rocket was climbing the cliff along the lighthouse.

"Remind me why we had to come up the hard way?" Jessie asks.

"So they don't spot us." James said.

"Yeah no real bad guy ever just takes the steps to where they wanna steal from." Meowth says.

"Next time I say we sneak around near the top." Jessie mumbles.

Back inside the lighthouse...

In a media room, we see everyone sitting down as Bill and Daisy were chatting.

"So you see in some parts of the world Pokemon that we see everyday are in fact very rare in those parts because they have Pokemon completely different from ours." Bill explains.

"Really? From the research I've been looking into, they're even Pokémon that are related to the ones we have today in terms of evolution, but as time passes, they're lost in the past because the methods used to make them evolve are entirely different then what we use today." Daisy explained.

"Yes you see, it all has to do with a Pokemon's environment. Pokemon are truly extraordinary because some develop the ability to adapt and change their bodies in order to survive in such environments." Bill explains.

"Hmm, so will we ever see those lost Pokémon in our time again?" Daisy asks.

"Well that's the million dollar question Daisy, but perhaps it doesn't hurt to have a few extra eyes." Bill said, looking at Ash, Misty and Brock.

"Us?" Misty asks.

"Someday you'll be fortunate enough to find these lost Pokemon for us." Bill said.

"Trainers and researchers aren't that far off from the same category, don't you know." Daisy nodded.

"In the game of discovering the secrets of Pokémon, we need all the players we can get. Because after all, what fun is there in making a big discovery if you don't have anyone to share it with?" Bill asks.

"Heh, that's one way of getting out in the world and exploring." Brock says.

"Tell me Bill is there any big discoveries you're on the lookout for?" Ash asks.

"Oh yes in fact, there's a big one happening tonight." Bill said, getting their attention.

"And what might that be?" Misty asked as Bill led them into another part of the room.

Bill leads them to a lab with paper documents everywhere. The Pokémon cravings were all around the room, and sitting in an incubator...was an egg with a red and yellow flame design.

"Is that a Pokemon Egg?" Daisy gasps.

"Yes it is, but I have no idea what Pokemon is inside it." Bill said.

The group quickly huddled around it. "It's so cute." Misty squealed.

"Where'd you get it?" Brock asks.

"I found it on my last excursion. The second I saw it I knew I had to see what was in it. Sadly though it's been a week and not much has happened." Bill said.

"Have you looked into any of the Pokémon it could be connected to?" Daisy asked.

"Many, but nothing seems to match. This is the second most curious find I'm trying to uncover." Bill said.

"Second? What's the first?" Ash asks.

"Well, recently I've been searching for 1 Pokémon for quite a long time." Bill admits.

Leading them up to the top where the light was spinning, Bill had them look out over the ocean.

"This Pokemon is extremely rare, possibly the only one of its kind." Bill starts.

"Seriously? What makes you say that?" Ash asked.

"It's the biggest Pokemon ever. Bigger than all the rest and no one has ever seen it. It's been wandering the world for years and years looking for friends." Bill explains.

Misty blinked, "But. Doesn't that Pokémon have any friends or family?" She asked with sadness.

Bill shook his head, "The Pokémon wanders around because it's alone. It's the only one of the it's species. It's one of a kind." Bill said with conviction.

"So how do you know it's coming here?" Daisy asks.

"One night, I heard a very strange sound coming across the ocean." Taking out a remote, Bill played a strange cry from the Lighthouse. "I want to meet you. That's what it said to me."

"Some time ago, I recorded a similar sound and played it back from the lighthouse towards the ocean." The lighthouse roared, spinning the lights in a sea of different colors. "Let's be friends. I want to meet you." Bill said, translating the sound.

"But what are you going to do when you see the Pokémon? Are you going to capture it?" Ash asks.

"Why would I need to do that? Meeting it would be more than enough. Just a chance to study it would make it all worth it." Bill said

Then they heard a roar coming from the ocean.

They ran to the ocean view port to look towards the water to see a large figure coming from the fog.

Everyone was transfixed at the scene. It walked to them with its body in the water looking gigantic compared to everything else they've encountered. It roared to them from the lighthouse. "It's here! The signal!" Bill shouted in earnest, pushing the button on his lighthouse lights.

The lighthouse started to change colors again and released the powerful words Bill was trying to say to the Pokémon. The Pokémon heard the roar and responded back by playing its own powerful melody.

"It sounds like it's singing." Misty said.

"Bill, this is incredible." Daisy said.

Slowly from the fog they saw a large shadow, a Pokémon the size of the cliff was approaching them.

"There it is..." Bill whispered.

"My god. It's huge.." Brock gasped.

However they weren't the only ones blown away.

"That is one big Pokemon." Jessie said.

"So size does matter." James said.

Jessie smirked, "Something so rare and unusual. You know what that means! Let's grab it for ourselves!" She shouted pointing to the huge Pokémon.

James nodded, "Quite right. I will attack at once!" He brought out his bazooka and had it pointed at said Pokémon. "But it seems a shame to aim at such a sweet creature." James said in counter thought.

"Of course it is a shame. We built fame on shame." Jessie stated.

"Go on, fire! It's all the shame we need!" Meowth said.

As they open fire they hit the giant Pokémon square in the chest.

"What is happening?!" BIll asks horrified.

Roaring in anger, the Pokémon swung its giant paw destroying the light.

The building top exploded at once. Ash pushed Bill to safety before he was caught in the rubble. "This way!" Daisy screamed as they ran down the stairs as the place was falling apart. Ash stopped once he spotted the egg from earlier. It was going to get destroyed if it stayed in here any longer.

Running to the incubator, Ash yanks it open and pulls it out.

"Sorry to wake you up little buddy, but it's not safe for you in here anymore!" He said holding it close in his chest as he ran out the room.

At the cliffs, Team Rocket fired a net to try and capture it, but the Pokémon swung its tail smacking into them.

"I told you messing with something that big would cost us!" James screamed.

"Well at least we get a free flight out of it!" Meowth whines.

"But no in-flight movies or those little bags of peanuts!" Jessie cried.

"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" They screamed out in the distance.

Roaring, the large Pokemon turned to leave.

"Pokemon no! Please come back! Don't go!" Bill begs.

As Bill's dream was walking away, Ash knew they had to do something before it was too late.

"Daisy didn't you say your Blastoise could race through even stormy seas?" Ash recalls.

"Yeah wh-'' Daisy stopped mid sentence as her eyes widened in shock and looked at him like he was crazy. "Ash..no! Absolutely not!"

"Daisy, please. The greatest moment in Bill's life is literally walking away from him. He may never get a chance like this again!" Ash begged her.

Cringing Daisy looked at Bill who looked like he was about to cry.

"I must be out of my mind." Daisy said before grabbing her Pokeball. "Come on out Blastoise!"

"Blast!" The tank tortoise Pokemon said.

"Brock, hold this for me." Ash said, handing him the egg.

"The egg? But Ash!" Ash cuts him off by jumping onto the back of Blastoise with Daisy. Climbing onto her back, Daisy and Ash held on tight.

"Follow that Pokemon!" Daisy orders.

"BLASTOISE!" Blastoise leapt into the water and took off like a torpedo, surprising the others.

As the giant Pokémon was about to head out to the open sea two streams of water flew past it causing it to come to a stop.

"WAIT!!"

"PLEASE, STOP!"

Racing in front of it, Blastoise turns allowing Ash and Daisy to look up at it.

"Oh wow, it's even bigger up close." Daisy gulps.

The giant Pokémon looked down at them with hesitation in its eyes, looking like it would attack if they'd attack.

Taking a deep breath, Ash stood up on Blastoise's back. "Please, you must go back to that lighthouse. There's a person who desperately wants to be your friend. Whatever happened to you, wasn't Bill's fault!" Ash shouted in honesty to the great Pokémon.

However it shook its head, negatively.

"Please I don't know what happened back there, but I do know that he has been waiting a long time just to meet you! Please just give him one chance. That's all he wants. One chance to be your friend!" Ash begs.

"He's right!" Daisy calls out. "Bill is one of the most sincere people I've ever met, he'd never hurt a fly! If you come with us, I promise you, we'll make sure whatever attacked you, will be dealt with! All you have to do is trust us!"

Pausing, the giant Pokemon looked at them.

"Please." Both said with sincere looks on their faces.

"Blast." Blastoise adds trying to help.

All was silent for a while until the great beast roared. It then walked towards the lighthouse. "Yes!" Ash and Daisy cheered before hugging.

"Oh I can't believe that worked!" Daisy said.

"All it took was a little help and boom." Ash grins.

"Ash, this was by far one of the craziest things you've ever done, but I'm really glad you talked me into it." Daisy said.

"My pleasure." Ash nodded. "Now come on, we better stay by its side."

The next morning, when the light shined down on them all of them dropped their jaws to see the giant Pokemon was a large orange dragon Pokemon.

"Daisy, Bill. You two are the Pokemon Researchers. What is it?" Misty asks.

"I-I-I can't believe it..." Daisy gasped.

"A...A Dragonite." Bill gasped.

Taking out his Pokedex, Ash pointed it at it.

"Dragonite, the Dragon Pokemon. Dragonite is capable of circling the globe in just 16 hours. It is a kindhearted Pokémon that leads lost and foundering ships in a storm to the safety of land."

"This one must be at least 100 times the size of a normal Dragonite." Bill said, amazed.

"Kinda like Gary and his Krabby." Daisy mutters.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dragonite." Bill said, walking forward to greet it.

Looking down, Dragonite saw Bill look at it with awe and wonder on his face.

"I've been wanting to say this to you for a long time. You don't have to be alone anymore. I'll be your friend." Bill smiles.

The dragon Pokémon roared in happiness to finally have a friend.

"Well guess those two will be busy." Misty said.

"I gotta stick around for this. Grandpa will have a heart attack when he hears about this." Daisy said.

"Wait, you're staying? But I kinda liked traveling with you." Ash said.

"Ash, I have my duties. There's still a lot of work for me to do." Daisy says. "And besides, you don't need me around to babysit you anymore."

"Well hopefully I can still call you for Pokemon tips." Ash said.

"Always." Daisy smiles.

Getting their belongings, the group were ready to disembark. "I guess it's time for us to part ways," Ash said, Dragonite looking crestfallen at this, "Sorry big guy. I need to continue my journey to be a great trainer. I know we'll meet again someday." It perked up at this and roared its melody at Ash.

"Wait Ash, before you go I want to give you something." Bill said going back into the Lighthouse.

A few minutes later, Bill comes back out with the Pokémon Egg in a portable incubator.

Ash blinked as widened his eyes in shock. "You want me to have the egg? Why? I thought this was part of your research?"

"Ash if it wasn't for you I never would get the chance to meet Dragonite. All I wanted to know is what Pokemon is inside this egg. All I ask is that when it hatches you let me know. This is my way of saying thank you." Bill said.

Ash stood there in silence and then a gentle smile appeared on his face, "I see. I'll take great care of it Bill."

Bill gave a grin, "Here's some else for you. Since it'll be your first infant Pokémon, Ithink this can work for you." Bill handed him a necklace with a Pokéball attached to it. "Use the Pokéball on the necklace to catch it once it hatches."

"Thanks Bill." Ash smiles.

"I wish you all the best of luck out there on your journey. And hope you all find as many Pokemon as you want to be your friends." Bill said.

"And be careful out there Ash." Daisy leaned in and kissed his forehead. "I know you'll do great out there, and if you see that little brother of mine, I hope you beat him many times." She winks with a smile.

"Count on it." Ash smiles.

"Hey uh, any chance I can get one of those?" Brock asks, moving in.

"Goodbye Brock." Daisy smirks. Brock then slumped in defeat and jealousy.

"Come on Romeo." Misty said, pushing him away.

As Bill, Daisy, and Dragonite waved goodbye to them, Ash and his friends continued on toward Vermillion City with a new egg on board.

I hope you all enjoyed the next chapter. I'm way behind on updates. My next chapter is FINALLY the Vermillion City Gym Battle, and let me tell you that you will definitely be surprised of how the match is gonna go down.

I was contemplating if I should have Ash catch Krabby for himself or his mother, but thinking about it hard, Krabby/Kingler is really underrated and needed some experience in Kanto, so fuck it. I'm giving it to Ash.

To that one reviewer, Alya1188, I don't speak German. I translated what you said.

Translation: Hi, it's a pity that you already deleted the other one. Yesterday I felt like reading it and then I found out that it's no longer available. I have a question, do you still have the other one? If so, can you email them to me?

I found them really enjoyable to read.

Answer: Nein.

Also bitte verstehen.

Translation: It drove me up to exhaustion, procrastination and left me stumped.

Stuff I forced into the plot that didn't make sense, I didn't explain stuff well, everyone felt so..one note and dull. I hated it.

Plus, it's all deleted and gone forever. I don't want to look into it anymore.

The reboot feels like the chains have been lifted on me. I can make the storyline my own way of saying what happens, and give the character's new life.

So please understand.

One last thing, I'm still doing Breeder Competitions for Brock, but I'm not doing the 'Breeder Extravaganza' like I originally planned to have in the story. It was going to be a bit too much.
